United, Chelsea and Newcastle would be the only realistic transfer options for Neymar if he does leave PSG, whom he joined for a world record £200million in 2017.
The Premier League trio are the only clubs with the financial might to meet the Parisians, and the striker’s financial demands.
Barcelona have also shown interest in re-signing their former player but have been marred by financial difficulties.
Juventus were also linked but will struggle to raise funds after offloading Giorgio Chiellini, Paulo Dybala and Federico Bernardeschi to match Paul Pogba’s £6.8m-per-year wage demands. More

The Red Devils are yet to make one single signing, despite being in talks with Barcelona over Frenkie de Jong for several weeks.
United’s first capture could now be Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia, who was on the verge of joining Lyon for £15million.
But Ronaldo wants United to be pulling out all the stops for “ambitious” signings as they bid to return to the Champions League.
It’s led to the veteran considering his future, and agent Mendes is reportedly talking with outside clubs to see what Ronnie’s options are.

Lukaku arrived in Milan for a medical today after Chelsea agreed a £6.9million fee to ship the 29-year-old out on loan.
And Lukaku grinned broadly as he waved to adoring fans from the window of the Italian Olympic Committee’s headquarters in Milan.
The Chelsea flop waved and gave a thumbs up to the crowd who had defied a warning from Inter Ultras NOT to welcome Lukaku back to the club.
Scorned Curva Nord fanatics urged fans not to “run and drool” after Lukaku following his return.
Instead they claimed he will have to earn their affection back with “humility and sweat”.

    Col me maybe
Southampton are considering a move for Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill as Ralph Hasenhuttl looks to continue his youth revolution.
The Saints have already snapped up two young players this summer in Gavin Bazunu – a goalkeeper from Manchester City – and 20-year-old defender Armel Bella-Kotchap, who arrived from German club Vfl Bochum.
And now Hasenhuttl wants to make another raid on Chelsea’s youth ranks.
The south coast side took three players from Cobham last summer with Tino Livramento and Dynel Simeu joining on permanent deals as well as Armando Broja spending last season on loan.
Now Colwill is in Southampton’s sights – with Premier League rivals Leicester City also tracking his progress.
The defender, 19, spent last season on loan with Championship side Huddersfield, who reached the play-off final where they lost to Nottingham Forest.

    Real Deal
Dortmund have reportedly named next summer’s price for star man Jude Bellingham amid interest from a host of Europe’s elite clubs.
The 19-year-old has racked up 148 professional appearances for Birmingham, Dortmund and England.
And his fine form and maturity in the Bundesliga has alerted a number of clubs.
According to SportBild, Premier League duo Manchester United and Liverpool are keen on the midfielder.
Elsewhere in Europe, Real Madrid are plotting a move for Bellingham to complete their midfield for the next decade.
A move to the Bernabeu would see Bellingham play alongside fellow teenager Eduardo Camavinga and big money signing Aurelien Tchouameni.

    Phil your boots
Phil Thompson has offered his analysis on how Man Utd should approach the transfer window.
He told Paddy Power: “It’s a fine balance at the moment.
“It’s obvious that there are players there who are not good enough to play for Manchester United.
“They’ve been there, they’ve had a chance and they need to go.
“They need to hope that changing the culture will help certain players get better and then they need to look at getting the right players in, with the right attitudes.
“And then they need to have a good plan. A sustainable plan, that works across the long term.
“Not just looking at twelve months down the line, you need to look long term with your players.
“I think United are in a precarious position currently with their transfer policy at the moment.
“It’s a difficult one, I’ve been there, and watched other mangers at Liverpool not get it right, and it is a hard balance to get.”
    Who had worse Luk?
Former Liverpool defender Phil Thompson has compared Chelsea’s signing of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United’s deal with Paul Pogba.
He told Paddy Power: “Yeah, it has gone bad – you could see problems in the Jose Mourinho days. If Jose Mourinho couldn’tget a handle on this guy, then you wonder who else could.
“Look, he’s had some good games but so he should for the money he’s cost Manchester United.
“And it is astonishing when you think of the amount of good appearances compared to the amount they spent on him, it makes the cost feel even more astronomical.
“I think Man United has been a really difficult place to manage and ten Hag as a real job on there. But he’s helped by getting Pogba out the way.
“I read that he was offered £290,000 a week and he didn’t think that was enough – what has the game come to! What a cheek.
“I hope Man united didn’t offer him that sort of money because if he’d have accepted it, it wouldn’t have helped them in the coming season.”

    ICYMI
Romelu Lukaku is back in Italy ahead of his return to Inter Milan as the striker proudly posed with a club scarf.
The 29-year-old will link up with the San Siro outfit for a second time just a year after he re-joined Chelsea in a club-record £97.5million deal.
Inter have been quick to secure his services with the Serie A giants agreeing a £6.9m season-long loan deal with the Blues.

    Liverpool ‘make Williams demand’
Liverpool are demanding at least £15million for Neco Williams after rejecting an offer from Nottingham Forest.
Sun Sport exclusively revealed on Sunday that Steve Cooper’s newly-promoted side were closing in on the Reds defender and Morgan Gibbs-White from Wolves.
However, the Daily Mail now claims that Forest must cough up more if they want to get Williams.
The 21-year-old shone on loan at Fulham in the Championship as he helped them to become champions and return to the Premier League.
Man United join ‘Tielemans transfer race’
Man United have reportedly joined Arsenal in the hunt for Youri Tielemans.
The Times claims Leicester’s midfield star, 25, is “of interest” to Erik ten Hag this summer.
And Tielemans features on a shortlist of playmakers the Dutchman is interested in signing.
The Belgium international has been a long-term target for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
But the Gunners now risk seeing their move hijacked – just like Chelsea have done with Leeds’ Raphinha.
    Daniel Ballard’s Burnley transfer ‘collapses’
Arsenal ace Daniel Ballard’s move to Burnley has “broken down”, reports suggest.
According to The Athletic, Ballard, 22, arrived at Turf Moor for a medical but terms could not be agreed.
And thus a deal collapsed, which works as a significant blow for new manager Vincent Kompany who was keen on bringing the Gunners’ academy graduate to the relegated Championship outfit.
The centre-back’s impressive loan spells at Blackpool and Millwall as well as his stunning performances with Northern Ireland are what caught Kompany’s eye.
    Man United starlet extends contract
Man United have signed youngster Will Fish to a new long-term contract.
The 19-year-old will remain at Old Trafford until 2025, with the option to extend for another year.
The Manchester native made his Red Devils debut at the end of the 2020/21 season when the club beat Wolves 2-1.
Will Fish has signed a new long-term contract at Manchester United a year after making his senior debut for the club.
    Salah free transfer is ‘unacceptable’
It would be unacceptable for Mo Salah to leave Liverpool on a free transfer, according to Jamie O’Hara.
Salah’s Liverpool contract is up next summer, and he’s no closer to agreeing to a renewal with the club.
But it would be a travesty if the Reds didn’t receive a penny for the Eygptian winger, in O’Hara’s eyes.
The pundit said on talkSPORT: “Now Salah could go on a free – that is unacceptable. Liverpool have set the benchmark for how to do business as a football club and they’ve done it brilliantly.
“But they’ve got to get this sorted out because Mo Salah cannot leave that football club on a free.”
    Dortmund ‘set £103m Bellingham fee’
Borussia Dortmund have reportedly slapped a £103m bid on wonderkid Jude Bellingham.
But that will be next summer as the German club plan to retain his services next season.
And Dortmund are expecting offers from Liverpool, Man United, and Real Madrid, according to SportBild.
However, the German club will accept no less than the substantial figure for the 19-year-old, the report added.
    Torino ‘spark Bremer bidding war’
Torino’s transfer chief has reportedly jetted to England to hold talks with several Prem clubs over Gleison Bremer.
Bremer’s being tracked by Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham.
And Torino’s sporting director Davide Vagnati has been deployed by the club’s president Urbano Cairo to try and spark a bidding war for the defender, 90min reported.
Vagnati’s poised to meet representatives from all the aforementioned Prem sides during his trip to try and secure £43m for Bremer, the report adds.
    Spurs ‘set to snag genius’
Tottenham are set to snap up the set-piece genius who help fire Italy to Euro 2020 glory.
Veteran coach Gianni Vio, 69, is in talks to join Antonio Conte’s backroom staff ahead of the new season as the Italian looks to improve Spurs’ threat from set pieces.
The ex-banker-turned-deadball boffin wrote a thesis on set pieces as part of his coaching badges and claims to have more than 4,000 routines up his sleeve.
Vio helped Roberto Mancini at Euro 2020 last year and has previously worked at AC Milan, Leeds and Brentford.
Of the big six, only Manchester United scored fewer goals from set pieces than Spurs’ eight last season, meaning it is an area Conte is desperate to improve as they bid to bridge the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool.
    Southampton ‘sign Man City starlet’
Southampton are on the verge of signing Man City starlet Romeo Lavia, according to reports.
The Saints were locked in battle with Leeds for the 18-year-old’s services.
But the Saint Mary’s outfit have emerged victorious in the transfer race, The Athletic reported.
City wanted to keep hold of Lavia and have the option to buy him back, the report adds.
    Tottenham ‘plan Hincapie swoop’
Tottenham are reportedly planning to add Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie to their list of summer signings.
Spurs are rumoured to be lining up a £25million bid for the Ecuador international.
Hincapie, 20, was a regular for Bayer Leverkusen in the recent campaign, helping the German outfit to a third-place finish in the Bundesliga.
And his form has attracted the attention of Tottenham and Antonio Conte, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.
The youngster is a natural centre-back but can also fill in at left-back if necessary.
Hincapie has European experience after heavily featuring in Leverkusen’s run to last-sixteen of the Europa League.
    Ziyech to Milan in doubt
AC Milan’s move for Hakim Ziyech is hanging in the balance due to difficulties over his wage packet.
The Serie A giants want to sign the want-away winger on loan, with an obligation to buy.
But the Rossoneri can’t afford Ziyech’sa wages, according to Calciomercato.
Which is why they want they want the Blues to cover a portion of Ziyech’s pay packet, the report adds.
However, it remains to be seen if the Blues will agree to do so.
    De Jong move ‘in doubt’
Man United’s move for Frenkie de Jong has been thrown into doubt.
That’s because the Dutch star has no intention of leaving Barcelona, according to Sport.
United reportedly agreed a deal worth up to £74m for De Jong.
But De Jong’s determined to remain at the Nou Camp despite United’s interest, the report adds.
    Nani to go Down Under
Man United star Nani is poised to become big Down Under … by landing a move to Australian club Melbourne Victory, STEVE GOODMAN WRITES.
The Portugal winger has spent the past six months in Italy with Venezia, and has a year left on his contract.
However the Venice outfit will release Nani, 35, following their relegation from Serie A.
And Aussie reports claim A-League side Victory will snap him up as a marquee signing for the new season.
    Prem clubs receive Neymar boost
PSG star Neymar has been informed by club chiefs he is no longer wanted at Parc des Princes, reports suggest.
That is according to RMC Sport, who claim PSG are keen to rebuild without the star forward ahead of this coming season.
The Brazil international has been linked with a summer exodus from Paris this summer with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United showing interest,
United, Chelsea and Newcastle would be the only realistic transfer options for Neymar if he does leave PSG, whom he joined for a world record £200million in 2017.
The Premier League trio are the only clubs with the financial might to meet the Parisians and the striker’s financial demands.
    Feyenoord ‘delighted with Man United’
Feyenoord are reportedly delighted that Man United have hijacked Lyon’s bid for Tyrell Malacia.
Malacia was on the brink of joining Lyon before United swopped in for the full-back.
And Feyenoord are over the morning as the Red Devils offered them more money, and they’d rather do business with a club of United’s stature, according to Voetbal International.
    Chelsea ‘reach Raphinha agreement’
Chelsea have reached an agreement in full with Leeds for Raphinha, reports claim.
The two Prem clubs have hashed out a deal between £60-65m, according to LDN football.
And personal terms between Raphinha and Chelsea are also close to being agreed, the report adds.
The Blues have offered the Brazilian £115,000 per week, it was also stated.
    Leed’s ‘ignored Barcelona’s Raphinha offer’
Leeds was reportedly so happy with Chelsea’s offer for Raphinha that they didn’t even open Barcelona’s proposal.
Barca were also eyeing the winger as they prepare for the potential exit of Ousmane Dembele.
However, Chelsea’s £55m offer was enough for Leeds to completely ignore Barca, according to TV3.
Arsenal were also keen on Raphinha before the Blues stormed in with a last-ditch offer.
    Leeds ‘eye RB Salzburg duo’
Leeds have reportedly launched talks with RB Leipzig’s Tyler Adams and RB Salzburg midfielder Mohamed Camara.
Jesse Marsch needs to find a replacement for Manchester City-bound Kalvin Phillips.
The boyhood Leeds fan will join the Premier League champions in a £45million deal.
And according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Marsch and director of football Victor Orta are keen on two Red Bull players to replace Phillips.
Leipzig and USA regular Adams is high on Leeds’ transfer list.
Leeds are also keen on Camara, who plays for Austrian-based Red Bull club Salzburg.
    Liverpool hero joins Gremio
Liverpool cult hero Lucas Leiva has rejoined boyhood club Gremio on a free transfer.
That’s despite the Samba giants being relegated to Brazil’s second division last year.
Leiva, 35, was available on a free after his Lazio deal expired.

Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag hopes Frenkie de Jong transfer this week will convince Christian Eriksen to sign for free

The deal will see United cough up an initial £56m, with a further £18m to be paid in performance-related add-ons.
Ten Hag has made strengthening his midfield a priority after the club released the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.
They are known to be keen on snapping up Denmark international Eriksen on a free transfer.
But the 30-year-old is mulling over his future as he debates whether to stay at Brentford following his impressive spell with the Bees in the second half of the 2021-22 season.

‘AGREE’ £74m de Jong transfer, Red Devils aiming to ‘hijack’ Malacia

Former Ajax gaffer is keen to bring in his targets early as he hopes new signings will join them on United’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia next month.

Should United manage to bring in both De Jong and Eriksen, it has been said that Ten Hag will then look to raid former employers Ajax for winger Antony.
Though they have insisted that the 22-year-old will not be cheap as the Eredivisie champions hold out for a fee in the region of £69million.
However United are reluctant to fork over that much money and will negotiate with Ajax over a lower fee.
United are also closing in on Feyernood left-back Tyrell Malacia after hijacking Lyon’s move for the defender.
A £13m fee is believed to have been agreed with the Eredivisie outfit, which could rise to £14.6m. More

Man Utd ‘trying to hijack’ Tyrell Malacia’s transfer to Lyon and star has same agent as Frenkie de Jong

However, it seemed that he was set to miss out on the Dutch international after he had agreed to join Lyon for £13million.
The Ligue 1 side have agreed a fee with Feyenoord and looked certain to complete the deal for the star, who shares an agent with fellow United target Frenkie De Jong, over the coming days.
Now that switch has been cast into doubt after transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claimed that United had come in at the 11th hour to try and sign him.
He states that negotiations between the Red Devils and Feyenoord are underway and that now the defender could be heading to Old Trafford.

Malacia is still under contract for another two years at the Eredivisie outfit and has been a regular in the starting XI for the past two campaigns.
United boss Ten Hag knows him well from his time in charge of Ajax and appears keen on bringing him to England with him.

    Forest monitoring Man Utd youngster
Nottingham Forest want to sign Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams, according to the Daily Mail.
The Red Devils are open to selling the defender but are looking for around £10million.
The left-back spent last season on loan at Norwich.
    Newcastle want to sign McTominay
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag reportedly sees Scott McTominay as a “pivotal” part of his plans at Old Trafford, according to the Times.
And that means “United will resist any offers” for the 25-year-old and the report adds that Newcastle, and one other Premier League club, “made tentative enquiries about McTominay’s availability earlier in the transfer window”.
Man Utd rival Arsenal for Tielemans
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is considering a surprise move for Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans, according to reports.
The Belgian technician is now entering the final 12 months of his contract at Leicester and the Foxes will therefore be forced to consider a sale to avoid potentially losing him on a free in 2023.
Arsenal had been in the ascendancy for the 25-year-old but it appears the climate has now changed.
Express Sport understands the Gunners have now cooled their interest, although they could still revisit a deal later in the window.
According to The Times, United are now weighing up a swoop for the Tielemens, who has made his way onto Ten Hag’s summer shortlist.
    Man Utd want Dutch defender
Manchester United have reportedly made an approach for Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia.
The highly-rated left-back is expected to move on from Feyenoord this summer, with several clubs linked with the Netherlands international.
French side Lyon had reportedly reached a verbal agreement over a deal to sign Malacia, who has already played 136 games for Feyenoord at the age of 22.
But that move is now in doubt amid reports Manchester United have entered the race to sign the defender.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims United signalled their interest in Malacia before Lyon could reach a full agreement with Feyenoord.
    United turn attention to Asensio
Manchester United have joined the race to sign Real Madrid star Marco Asensio, according to Sport.
Madrid have slapped a £34m price tag on Asensio’s shoulders, even though the player has only a year left to run on his current contract.
But Asensio is also attracting interest from Chelsea and AC Milan.
    Prem club eye Andreas Pereira
Fulham are waiting on a decision from Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira after submitting an £11million offer.
The Cottagers are keen to bring the midfielder, 26, to West London ahead of their return to the Premier League.
But Pereira is yet to decide on his future.
The Brazilian is currently on loan with Flamengo, where he has scored seven goals and laid on three assists in 52 matches this season.
Fulham face competition from the South American club – with Flamengo also keen on a permanent deal for the United midfielder.
    De Jong ‘wants Barcelona stay’
Frenkie de Jong has no desire to leave Barcelona for Man United.
That’s according to Ronald Koeman who claims De Jong’s happy with the Catalan giants amide reports linking him with the Red Devils.
Koeman told TV3: “The only thing I know from Frenkie is that he wants to stay at Barca.
“In fact, a couple of days ago he said that: ‘I want to stay at Barca.’
“But I don’t know if Barca want to sell Frenkie de Jong or if they just need the money – because I think he is one of the few players they have that has such a high price.”
    United starlet extends contract
Man United have handed Zidane Iqbal a new long-term contract with the club.
Iqbal joined United’s academy aged nine, and he made his first-team debut in the club’s Champions League game against Young Boys in December.
The 19-year-old’s new contract will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2025.
And there’s an option to extend for another year, Man United’s website revealed when announcing the deal.
Man United ‘agree De Jong fee’
Man United have agreed a deal worth up to £74million for top target Frenkie de Jong, according to reports.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils have agreed to pay an initial £56m for the midfielder.
He claims that the “full package” will rise to £74m after add-ons.
ESPN add that the exact nature of the performance-based add-ons are yet to be fully agreed.
    United’s transfer plans revealed
Man United have no plans to slow down in the transfer market after signing Frenkie de Jong, according to reports.
De Jong’s on the brink of completing a £56m move to United.
But United still want to bring in Jurrien Timber, Anthony, and Lisandro Martinez, Fabrizio Romano claims.
He told CaughtOffside: “Frenkie De Jong isn’t the only player Man United are in talks to sign.
“It is important to clarify that Man United are focused on Frenkie de Jong and in direct talks with Barcelona, but they are also negotiating for other players.
“The club is active on multiple deals, including discussions with Ajax on Timber, Lisandro Martinez (but Arsenal are also working for the Argentine centre-back) and Antony.”
    Juventus to pay off Ramsey
Juventus are willing to fork out £3.5million to make Aaron Ramsey LEAVE the club, according to reports.
Welsh midfielder Ramsey spent the last six months of the season on loan at Rangers.
But with Paul Pogba set to return to Juventus after quitting Manchester United, the Italians are desperate to get rid of Ramsey.
The Serie A giants want his wages off the books and have agreed a severance package with the 31-year-old to do so.
Juventus have agreed to pay Ramsey a whopping £3.5m to rip up his contract this summer, according to IlBianconero.com.
It’s claimed the two parties have agreed on the figure after Juve initially wanted to pay £1.7m to let him leave.
    United ‘agree De Jong fee’
Man United have agreed a price with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong, reports claim.
United have been aggressively pursuing De Jong, and their efforts have now paid off, according to ESPN.
The publication claim the Red Devils have convinced Barca to accept £56m for the midfielder.
And the fee could rise to £69m due to performance add-ons.
Although the transfer is far off being completed as there’s still some major hurdles that need to be overcome, the report adds.
    Declan Rice ‘not for sale’
Chelsea have reportedly been told that Declan Rice is NOT for sale.
West Ham will remain firm on their whopping £150million asking price.
According to football.london, West Ham are “adamant” Rice is NOT for sale, despite the fact Chelsea “remain interested”.
The England international is yet to agree a new contract in East London and is said to be “reluctant to negotiate”.
Man United are also tracking the England international.
    Rangnick’s ‘frosty relationship’ with Murtough
Ralf Ragnick’s spell as interim manager of Manchester United hardly went according to the script.
Things got so bad football director John Murtough, the man who appointed him, is reported to have had a frosty relationship with the now Austria boss.
Rangnick was brought in after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked last November to provide stability until the end of the campaign.
But after his appointment by Murtough was widely praised, the BBC claim the pair’s relationship ended up breaking down to the point they were “barely on speaking terms”.
Rangnick hit out in April that the club needed “open heart surgery” to get back on track.
Those words aren’t thought to have gone down well with football director Murtough, who believed Rangnick did not try to protect the club’s reputation.
    Ronaldo signs deal with Binance
Cristiano Ronaldo has signed an exclusive deal with cryptocurrency firm Binance.
The Manchester United star has said he is “proud” to have partnered with the controversial firm.
Ronaldo, 37, is set to work with Binance to create a range of NFTs.
    Ronaldo spotted canoodling in Ibiza
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez could not keep their hands off each other on a night out in Ibiza.
The pair are currently soaking up the sun on a luxury holiday in the Mediterranean.
And Manchester United star Ronaldo looked enraptured by his stunning partner as she wore a daring strapless dress during their date.
Ronnie and Georgina danced, hugged and kissed at El Lio nightclub and cabaret.
At one stage the pair were spotted with their arms tightly wrapped around each other as the music blared.
And they were snapped leaving the swanky do with several friends.

    Eriken given transfer tip
Christian Eriksen has been advised to avoid the pressures that come with being a Man United player to have an easy life.
The tip came from Glen Johnson who told GGrecon: “There are different questions. I think it’s all about Eriksen, how he feels, what he wants to do in life now.
“He just needs to be happy. Does he need the pressure of Manchester United? I’m not so sure.
“Let’s just say Eriksen’s 100% fit and well: I think he would go to Manchester United because he’d have the energy to put up with the pressure.
“It’s a fantastic football club and you’re going to play with some world class players. As long as he’s strong enough to do it, then I think he’d pick that. The only question is is where his head’s at and what he wants out of it.”
“In terms of being a player, he’s one of the best midfielders the Premier League has ever seen. But if any of us had been through what he has been through, if that’s me then I’m thinking ‘sod it, I’m just going to enjoy the rest of my life and chill out.’”
    Frenkie deal edges closer
Manchester United are nearing a deal for Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong.
According to Sky Sports News, the clubs are close to agreeing a fee for the Dutchman, 25.
The two clubs have been haggling over the price but £69million is believed to be the magic number for the former Ajax man.
De Jong would be United’s first transfer of the summer and the first signing under Erik ten Hag.
    Captain row ‘split squad’
A row between Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire last season split Man United’s training room in half, reports claim.
The squad was split over who should be captain of out the pair, according to the BBC.
And things got so bad it spiralled into a full blown disagreement over the issue.
With half the squad siding with Ronaldo, and the other with Maguire, the reports adds.
    Ronaldo given Chelsea warning
Cristiano Ronaldo will burn his briges with Man United if he joins Chelsea, according to Glen Johnson.
Johnson told GGrecon: “If he goes to Chelsea then he’d burn his bridges at Manchester United.
“From Chelsea’s perspective, he’s a massive brand and he may be expensive, but you’d probably make that money back in two weeks through shirt sales.
“He may cost a fortune but the club would probably make more by just having him. Signing Ronaldo is like signing a commercial deal.
“I don’t think Ronaldo can change Chelsea’s fortunes as a player now, but I think having him in the dressing room would.
“On the pitch now, he’s not the Ronaldo we all want to see, but him being in the dressing room will get another 5% out of everyone around him.”
    Double swoop planned this week
Man United are reportedly hopeful of completing the signing of Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong THIS WEEK.
And it has been said that boss Erik ten Hag will then look to snap up Christian Eriksen on a free transfer, before shifting his focus to Ajax winger Antony.
According to The Times, United could announce the transfer by the end of the week after making huge progress in the deal.
With central midfield Ten Hag’s priority, the news outlet states he will then press ahead with bringing free agent Christian Eriksen to the club.

    Ten Hag gets career warning
Erik ten Hag’s Man United job will be the hardest role in his career, according to Paul Merson.
Merson told Sky Sports: “If Ten Hag managed for the rest of his life, it’ll never be harder than what he’s taking on now.
“This is a massive job. It’s the biggest club in the world and he is taking over when they’re in disarray.
“He needs to bring in as many players as he can because this team is not going to get you in the top four. They need to bring certain players in – (Frenkie) De Jong at Barcelona, he’s a good footballer – and then you move on from there.
“They need at least three or four players just to make a challenge for fourth place.”
    Hagreaves’ near-fatal driving experience
Owen Hargreaves has revealed how he nearly crashed into head-on traffic upon joining Man United after stints in Canada and Germany.
Hargreaves told United’s media: “Bayern had Audi as a sponsor and, when I came, United [also] had Audi. So they set up a club car and they were like ‘can you drive on the other side of the road?’ because growing up in Canada [the steering wheel] was always on the left side and, in Germany, it was the same.
“I was like ‘yeah, yeah, of course I can.’ I think I was actually late for [my] first day because I actually got lost, but I didn’t want to tell anyone that I got lost.
“I remember going down the wrong side of the road. I was living in The Lowry [hotel] and I took a wrong turn and literally ended up coming head-on into traffic and people are like ‘what are you doing, you idiot?’”
    Fergie records personal Maguire message
Sir Alex Ferguson recorded a personal message for Manchester United captain Harry Maguire and his new bride, we can reveal.
Sir Alex, 80, wished the couple years of happiness in the short clip which was played at their wedding in France at the weekend.
Former Red Devils captain Bryan Robson also sent a personal video for the bride and groom as they tied the knot.
Maguire also surprised new wife Fern with a £40,000 diamond-encrusted white gold eternity ring ahead of their £500,00 nuptials.
It was engraved with the words: “H and F Forever”.
    Ajax set price for pair
Ajax will demand more than £115million for Manchester United targets Lisandro Martinez and Antony this summer.
Arsenal are also keen on Argentina centre-back Martinez and are willing to pay around £35m.
But the Dutch giants value him in the £45m bracket and are under no pressure to sell.
And they are set to play hardball over wideman Antony, who they believe is worth around £70m.
The Brazilian, 22, has become a key target for new Red Devils boss Erik Ten Hag after United lost out on Darwin Nunez to rivals Liverpool
