Eriksen has made an incredible recovery since having a cardiac arrest on the pitch during a Euro 2020 match in June last year.
The star was forced to leave Inter Milan after having a defibrillator – which are not allowed in Italy – fitted in the weeks after his collapse.
But he returned to top-level football when fellow Dane Thomas Frank offered him a short-term deal at Brentford.
And he proved he can still make a huge impact in the Premier League as he helped the Bees secure top-flight survival.

He is due to sign a contract, although the final figure is though to be worth less than that.

He has been repeatedly linked with a move to another Premier League team, with West Ham, Newcastle, and Everton the main candidates vying for his signature.
However, ESPN has revealed the attacking midfielder could be tempted by a move to the MLS.
The report indicates Lingard, who has been holidaying in America this summer, will hear pitches from two MLS franchises who have offered ‘ground-breaking’ deals for him.
Lingard will consider his future carefully as he seeks to break back into Gareth Southgate’s England squad ahead of this November’s World Cup in Qatar.

    Antony return possible
Manchester United could have to wait another month before attempting to sign Ajax star Antony again.
A deal may be difficult to complete because the winger is still recovering from an ankle injury he sustained in March.
According to AD, the Dutch champions are unwilling to sell the Brazil international so they are demanding at least £65million for his services.
United are said to be reluctant to pay that sum, but club chiefs are still considering a future bid
    Boehly wants Ronaldo
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly wants to sign Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
But the Blues are having internal differences regarding a potential bid for Ronaldo.
According to SunSport’s Andy Dillon, Boehly is a major fan of the forward but must now convince manager Thomas Tuchel to go for him.
Tuchel and the new chairman are set to hold talks on whether to follow up with a firm bid for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner or invest elsewhere.
The German head coach insists Manchester City star Raheem Sterling and defenders are his priority, having lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the summer.
But the American owner wants a marquee signing to launch his regime after taking over from previous owner Roman Abramovich last month in a £4.25billion deal
    Lisandro Martinez latest
Ajax ace Lisandro Martinez has told the club that he wants to quit and move to the Premier League.
Martinez is wanted by both Manchester United and Arsenal to bolster their defence.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Lisandro Martínez, back in Holland today – he’s been very clear with Ajax telling the club that he only wants to leave to try his first Premier League experience.
“Manchester United are pushing as [Erik] ten Hag wants Lisandro as priority – Arsenal, still there fighting.”
And The Mirror also claims that Martinez “pleaded” with Ajax to “grant him his wish” to play in the Premier League
    De Jong to stay
Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong is not for sale, according to club president Joan Laporta.
De Jong has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, but now the transfer seems dead in the water following Laporta’s latest comments.
Whilst unveiling new signing Franck Kessie, he said: “Frenkie is not for sale. He is a Barcelona player.
“We don’t want to transfer him”
    Ronaldo offered to Chelsea
Chelsea have been offered the opportunity to sign Manchester United’s wantaway star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo who has been granted extra time off from pre-season, is frustrated over United’s lack of transfer activity this summer.
And the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is desperate to fight for trophies and play in the Champions League this coming season.

    MLS clubs want Jesse Lingard
Free agent Jesse Lingard could be on his way to the United States after Major League Soccer teams offered ‘ground-breaking’ deals to sign him, according to reports.
Lingard, 29, left Manchester United after his contract with The Red Devils ran out last month.
Ronaldo’s exit will be a ‘circus’
Paul Scholes is anticipating a frenzy surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s imminent Man United exit.
Ronaldo told the club he wants to leave this summer.
And Scholes thinks his exit will be shrouded in a media frenzy.
He wrote on Instagram regard Ronaldo’s exit: “Let the circus begin.”
    Eriksen could miss tour
New Man United signing Christian Eriksen could miss the club’s pre-season tour.
The Red Devils are gearing up for a trip to Thailand ahead of the new Prem campaign.
But Eriksen may have to miss the trip as he still needs to undergo an extensive medical, according to the BBC.
And although the Denmark international has verbally agreed terms with United, there’s a few details that still need to be ironed out, the report adds.
This means he may not be unveiled as a United player until after the club jet off on Friday.
    Maguire unlikes Ronaldo post
Harry Maguire’s Instagram account has unliked a post claiming Ronaldo was upset about a wage cut at Man United.
His profile – @harrymaguire93 – initially double tapped the post about Ronaldo’s 25 percent pay reduction along with thousands of others social media users.
But now the United captain’s account has swiftly removed the like.
It is unclear if the initial post approval was accidental or intentional.
    Ten Hag’s management skills praised
Erik ten Hag has been quick to make his mark in Manchester United training.
The Dutchman has earned rave reviews after being spotted pulling James Garner aside for a one-on-one chat at Carrington.
United posted a clip to their Twitter account of Ten Hag chatting to Garner, 21, who also returned yesterday after being called up for England U21 duty last month.
Ten Hag put his hand on Garner’s arm and spent some time talking to him directly while the rest of the squad walked past.
United fans on social media have been left impressed by Ten Hag’s man management after seeing the clip.
De Jong set for Barca stay
Frenkie de Jong is not for sale, Barcelona chief Joan Laporta has revealed.
De Jong has been heavily linked with a move to Man United, but now the transfer seems to dead in the water following Laporta’s latest comments.
Whilst unveiling new signing Franck Kessie, Laporta said: “Frenkie is not for sale. He is a Barcelona player.
“We don’t want to transfer him.”
    Di Maria to Juventus confirmed
Angel Di Maria is set to complete his free transfer to Juventus.
The former Manchester United winger has left Paris Saint-Germain after an epic seven-year stint in the French capital.
In their initial attempt, Juventus offered a two-year contract when Di Maria only wanted a one-year contract.
Now it seems that the veteran attacker has got his wish and is about to make his switch to the Serie A club official, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
    Maguire likes Ronaldo fury post
Harry Maguire has ‘LIKED’ a post on social media about Cristiano Ronaldo being “upset” with the 25 per cent wage cut at Manchester United.
Reports claim the salary slash, which came as a result of United failing to qualify for the Champions League, contributed to Ronaldo sensationally asking to leave the club.
The suggestions, according to Manchester Evening News, were posted on Instagram by SPORTbible this morning.
And Maguire’s official Instagram account ‘liked’ the post.
His profile – @harrymaguire93 – double tapped the post about Ronaldo along with thousands of others social media users.
    Ronaldo exit could be ‘beneficial’
But McManaman reckons Ronaldo’s exit could benefit Man United and new boss Erik ten Hag.
The ex-Real Madrid ace added to Horseracing.net: “He’s a superstar but if Manchester United could recoup their money, a new manager coming in might be better to say ‘OK, a new start. Get rid of everybody who doesn’t want to be here. Let’s start afresh’.
“That’s cool and might be beneficial to Ten Hag. Secretly he might be thinking, ‘this is amazing’.
“But how this deal is going to materialise when you look at the bigger picture, I just can’t see how it’s going to turn out.
“You can see Ronny wanting to play in the Champions League but, sometimes, you can’t get what you want.”
    Ronaldo faces new club challenge
Cristiano Ronaldo could struggle to find a new club amid reports he wants to leave Man United.
That’s according to Liverpool legend Steve McManaman who told horseracing.net: “Ronny’s 37. I completely understand that he wants to carry on playing in the Champions League but firstly I wouldn’t know who would take him.
“The deal would be big. Manchester United have given him a lot of money in wages. I have no idea who would pay half-a-million a week, for one more year.”
    Gnabry set for crunch talks
Serge Gnabry is reportedly set to hold crunch talks with Bayern Munich as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.
The 26-year-old winger has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal AND Manchester City.
Bayern though are keen to keep hold of the former Arsenal man – who scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions last season.
The Bundesliga champions are planning a meeting with Gnabry and his representatives, according to German outlet Bild.
They are keen for Gnabry to extend his contract in order to fight off interest from elsewhere.
    Lingard to West Ham discussed
West Ham should should end their interest in Jesse Lingard if he’s not committed to joining the club.
That’s according to Hammers legend Frank McAvennie.
He told West Ham Zone: “I don’t know what’s happening with Lingard, I think that’s a funny one. Me personally, I don’t know if I’d pursue that.
“I just think he’s, it’s as if he’s waiting on other clubs coming in for him and it’s not happening. So I don’t want us to be a club which is ‘the only ones that wanted me,’ sort of thing.
“West Ham have gone by that now. If you don’t want to come to West Ham then go elsewhere.
“They shouldn’t pursue somebody that doesn’t want to go, but you never know what’s been said between David Moyes and Lingard. I don’t know whether he’s on holiday again, or what the situation is.
“I’d like to think if he’s stalling, then West Ham should pull the plug on him.”
    Fans joke on Pogba return
Fans are convinced Paul Pogba’s return to Juventus means one thing… a record move back to Manchester United.
The Red Devils forked out £89million to sign Pogba from Juve back in 2016 after letting him join the Italians for free four years earlier.
Football fans though have been unable to resist poking fun at United for losing the Frenchman yet again.
In response to the news Pogba had agreed to join Juve, one wrote on social media: “We will see him back at Man Utd in 2025 for £120m.”
Another added: “Then Utd will pay £200mil to buy him back.”
And a third joked: “How many years til he’s back at Utd?”
    Doubts cast over Ronaldo transfer
Cristiano Ronaldo may not get minutes he wants on the pitch with potential suitors Chelsea, Lee Sharpe believes.
He told bettors.ng: “I’m not sure. If he goes to Chelsea, I don’t think he’ll play every game.
“I’m not sure he’ll be too happy about that. We saw the disappointment last season where he was brought off last season as a substitute.
“If that’s his only option and he fancies a year or two in London, then who knows. But I would say that he is keeping his options open at the moment to find out what’s on the table.”
    Positives from possible Ronaldo exit
However, Ronaldo’s exit from United could work out in the club’s favour, Sharpe believes.
He added to bettors.ng: “As far as the team goes, they will struggle because of the number of goals he brings to the team.
“But because of the age of him, I think they will be able to bring in someone a bit younger that possibly could play on that front foot and get the ball back and play the high pressing game, which Ronaldo is a little bit old to play.
“Disappointing in one way, but could possibly work out for the better in the end for the team.”
    Ronaldo’s exit decision questioned
Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to leave Man United seems “funny and weird” to club legend Lee Sharpe.
Sharpe told bettors.ng: “I think it’s a funny thing to come out with right now. Ronaldo has come out and said he wanted to play Champions League football for the rest of his career.
“He knew, even before the end of last season, that Manchester United weren’t going to be playing Champions League and didn’t ask for a transfer.
“The manager has just come in, and he hasn’t even been in training yet. It seems a bit of a weird one.”
    De Jong speculation runs rife
Man United fans have joked that Frenkie de Jong has confirmed on social media he is heading to Old Trafford.
Eagle-eyed supporters noticed De Jong liked Tyrell Malacia’s Instagram post confirming he had signed for United.
Thousands of fans, including De Jong, liked the 22-year-old’s post after his move was made official.
The move has left some supporters believing De Jong might not be far behind Malacia.
One Man Utd fan account wrote on social media: “We see you @DeJongFrenkie21.”
    Another said: “He is joining.”
    Paqueta ‘snubs several Prem clubs’
Lucas Paqueta has reportedly snubbed the chance to join Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City.
North London rivals Arsenal and Spurs were both keen, while Man City also allegedly made contact with the player’s camp over a potential move.
Now ESPN Brazil claims that Paqueta is set to remain at Lyon.
They state that none of the English trio were able to advance talks with the South American’s representatives over a deal.
    Ten Hag rips into squad
Erik ten Hag might have just realised the size of the job he’s got on his hands at Manchester United.
Footage has emerged of the new manager already getting frustrated with his stars in training.
All of United’s stars, except from Cristiano Ronaldo whose return has been delayed for family reasons, are back at Carrington for pre-season.
And it hasn’t taken long for Ten Hag to get stuck into his squad.
The Dutchman put the players through their paces in a one-touch passing drill and already it seems as though some are struggling with his demands.
In a clip posted to Twitter of the session there is a shout from the sideline of: “Making too many mistakes!”
Ten Hag eyes swift Ronaldo solution
Erik ten Hag wants Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United future to be resolved quickly — before it turns into a full-blown saga.
But United are determined not to let him leave for a Prem rival, despite interest from Chelsea.
The Red Devils continue to insist their legendary star is not for sale and they expect him to see out the final 12 months of his contract.
But Ten Hag is concerned the noise surrounding Ronaldo will affect his preparations for the new season – with all his other players now back.

They have already been dealt a blow after Robert Lewandowski publicly stated his desire to leave Bayern – with a transfer to Barcelona in the works.
And Julian Nagelsmann could also be left without Serge Gnabry as he is linked with a move to Manchester United, Manchester City, or even a return to Arsenal.
But Bayern are also being linked with some big name arrivals.

He could be the perfect man to replace Lewandowski up front – with Bayern joining Chelsea as the favourites to sign the 37-year-old forward.

In midfield, RB Leipzig star Konrad Laimer is hoping to finalise a move to the German champions.
He has just one year left on his current deal and – according to BILD – has told Leipzig he will move to Bayern for free when his contract expires next summer if they do not allow him to go now.
And another huge transfer which could be finalised by Bayern is the acquisition of Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.
Contract talks broke down between Juve and De Ligt and it is now believed that he will not extend beyond 2024.
He has been linked with Chelsea, but a move to Bayern seems the most likely option.

    Tottenham close in on Lenglet
Tottenham are reportedly on the verge of clinching a loan deal for Barcelona star Clement Lenglet.
And Di Marzio claims Lenglet has been chosen by the Spurs boss for a north London summer switch.
Marseille were thought to be leading the race for Lenglet, who’s been capped 15 times by France.
But Italian tactician Conte has stormed in late on.
And Lenglet is now set to ply his trade in the Premier League as Spurs’ new left-sided centre-half.
    Fulham face Manor Solomon loss
Fulham are facing the prospect of losing out on forward Manor Solomon with French club Nice attempting to hijack the deal.
The Israel international has been a long term target for boss Marco Silva and is close to joining the Cottagers from Ukrainian side Shakthar Donetsk.
Silva’s side have all but agreed a deal worth around £7million for the 22-year-old but have not yet fully completed.
Sources close to the player believe that all aspects are ready to go on the deal and that they are just awaiting the final seal from Fulham.
As the newly promoted side delay, however, Nice are trying to muscle in.
The Ligue 1 side, owned by British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, have offered a bigger fee to Shakthar and a larger wage to Solomon than that on offer from West London.
Solomon, however, would still prefer a switch to the Premier League but is beginning to consider other options should Fulham continue to delay.
    Pickford set for new contract
Everton are are reportedly in talks with Jordan Pickford over a new long-term deal.
The Mail claims Pickford is now set to be rewarded with a lucrative fresh contract.
The England No1, 28, hast two years left to run on his current deal.
Frank Lampard is a huge fan of Pickford, who cost £30million from Sunderland in 2017.
And he wants the stopper to commit his golden years at Goodison Park ahead of a summer rebuild.
    Ronaldo to Sporting Lisbon?
Sporting Lisbon director of football Hugo Viana has refused to rule out Cristiano Ronaldo returning to the club.
He told Sky Sports on a possible summer move: “Not now, I don’t think that will be possible.
“But we never know. He can decide where he can go. But you never know the future.
“I don’t want to talk a lot about that because when we speak about Cristiano it is quite different.
“I think he has one more year on his contract, so whatever he decides, let’s see.”
    Brentford eye ex-United flop
Brentford are plotting a swoop for ex-Manchester United flop Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
The goalkeeper moved to Old Trafford back in 2014 from Serbian club Vojvodina.
He then suffered work permit issues that prevented him from making an appearance for the club.
And that led to his departure from United just a year later having failed to make any impact.
Now TuttoSport claims that Brentford are lining up a bid to give the now Torino stopper a second shot at the Premier League.
    Chelsea face Raphinha coup
Chelsea are fighting Barcelona’s 11th-hour attempt to sign Raphinha.
Blues owner Todd Boehly looked like he had bagged the Brazil winger after agreeing a £55million deal with Leeds.
But having seen off interest from rivals Arsenal, Boehly now faces the threat of losing out to Barcelona.
Raphinha’s agent Deco, who played for both Barca and Chelsea, was spotted at the Spanish giants’ offices on Wednesday in a last-ditch attempt to engineer a move.
    Richarlison to Tottenham confirmed
Richarlison is set to undergo a medical at Tottenham TODAY after agreeing to move from Everton, according to reports.
Spurs are still haggling with the Toffees over the final details of the deal, although a fee of around £50million and £10m in add-ons has been agreed in principle.
Richarlison, 25, has settled on personal terms with Tottenham and is eager to make the move.
According to The Athletic, the Brazilian’s Spurs medical will take place today with a transfer imminent.
The forward is eager to test himself at the highest level, and will be able to play Champions League football for the first time with Spurs.
    Rangers face transfer battle
Four Euro clubs are keen to beat Rangers to sign Antonio Colak.
SunSport understands the PAOK striker is a target for Copenhagen, Panathinaikos, Real Mallorca and his former club Malmo as the race for the £2.5million-rated Croatian international, 28, hots up.
But it’s understood the Light Blues remain favourites with the frontman clear Ibrox is his favoured destination if a deal can be agreed with the Greeks.
We revealed Gers had made an improved £2m offer plus bonuses in a bid to prise Colak away from PAOK’s Dutch pre-season camp.
But that too has been rejected with PAOK chiefs adamant about the deal matching what they paid Rijeka two years ago.
    Chelsea get De Ligt boost
Chelsea have received a major boost in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt after Juventus’ CEO hinted that the star wants to leave.
uventus chief Maurizio Arrivabene has appeared to have bolstered their hopes of landing De Ligt – saying they will be happy to do business as long as their asking price is met.
He said: “It’s impossible to keep players when they want to leave the club – but all the three parties in the negotiations have to be satisfied.”
    Good Morning football fans.
Man Utd are looking to hijack Arsenal’s bid to land Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.
The Gunners have put in a third offer for the Argentine centre-back – after being told their previous bid of £34million was not enough.
But United have now registered their interest to the Dutch giants and asked to be kept informed of developments.
Erik ten Hag was planning to switch his attention to his forward line now deals for Frenkie de Jong and Tyrrell Malacia have been set up.
However the Red Devils were concerned that the 24-year-old Martinez would be heading for North London unless they made their interest known quickly.
Martinez has set his heart on a move to the Premier League – although the Dutch giants will demand around £43m to think about letting him leave.
Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku is back in Italy ahead of his return to Inter Milan and has proudly posed with a club scarf.
The 29-year-old will link up with the San Siro outfit for a second time just a year after he re-joined Chelsea in a club-record £97.5million deal.
But he failed to hit the heights expected of him at Stamford Bridge, with Thomas Tuchel deeming him surplus to requirements.
And Inter have been quick to secure his services with the Serie A giants agreeing a £6.9m season-long loan deal with the Blues.
    More on Martinez
Arsenal’s opening bid of £26m was rejected – as was their second which was £8m higher.
Their latest offer is a similar downpayment but with more add-ons – so that may not be enough to tempt Ajax to do business.
They are now likely to wait to see if a firm offer comes in for Lisandro Martinez from United.
He had previously indicated he was happy to join Arsenal but the prospect of re-uniting with his former boss Ten Hag at Old Trafford may change his mind.
It would be a blow for Mikel Arteta who has also seen Chelsea move in for another of his key targets, Raphinha, in recent days.
Spanish giants Barcelona are also in the race for the Brazilian who is rated at around £60m by his current club Leeds.
Meanwhile United are happy with the way their move for Malacia is progressing – despite a late bid from Lyon to turn his head back towards them.
He is expected to move to the North West and provide competition for Luke Shaw next season.

    S-mart money

    Everton in talks for Winks
Everton are likely to sign Harry Winks regardless of where Richarlison‘s future lies, according to Givemesport.
The Brazilian international is being strongly linked with a move to Tottenham, with a potential swap deal involving Winks under consideration, but Jones is confident the midfielder will end up linking up with ex-teammate Dele Alli, no matter what happens with Richarlison.
According to Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge, Spurs and Everton are in talks over Winks, although the north Londoners are pushing for a permanent transfer, while the Toffees are seeking a loan deal with an option to buy.
Winks has already been told to find a new club by Tottenham and has been valued at around £20m.
Meanwhile, the same outlet state that Spurs are interested in Richarlison and Anthony Gordon, as Conte hopes to provide squad depth ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League next term.

    Koul runnings
Kalidou Koulibaly has reportedly emerged as a potential target for Chelsea.
It has been claimed that the Senegal international has been added to Thomas Tuchel’s shortlist in his quest to bolster his backline.
The Blues boss is desperate for reinforcements in defence after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen departed as free agents.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of players, with the club reportedly having a £34million offer plus either Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic for Matthijs de Ligt rejected by Juventus.
They are also understood to be keen on bringing Manchester City’s Nathan Ake back to Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile Sevilla star Jules Kounde remains of interest, however they face competition from Barcelona in the race to secure the Frenchman’s services.

    Tuchy subject
Romelu Lukaku did not enjoy a successful return to Chelsea and part of the reason for his failure was his strained relationship with Thomas Tuchel.
Lukaku, 29, first got on the wrong side of the German by publicly expressing his desire to return to Inter in a now infamous interview.
In the same interview Lukaku also criticised Tuchel’s style of play, suggesting it restricted him to too few chances in front of goal.
But Tuchel also irritated Lukaku with a jibe that poked fun at the striker’s relationship with his former manager Antonio Conte.
According to Goal’s Nizaar Kinsella, Lukaku was left unhappy with Tuchel’s wind-up.
Kinsella revealed: “To see him talk so highly of Inter [during the Sky Italia interview] was an insult to Chelsea fans. It broke the relationship with them.
“And there was another incident behind the scenes that wasn’t televised or anything like that.
“Someone told me that Lukaku and Tuchel were watching a Tottenham game and Tuchel said, ‘There’s your daddy’, about Antonio Conte.
“It was just a joke, but apparently, it didn’t go down very well with Lukaku.”

    ICYMI
PSG star Neymar has been informed by club chiefs he is no longer wanted at Parc des Princes, reports suggest.
That is according to RMC Sport, who claim PSG are keen to rebuild without the star forward ahead of this coming season.
The Brazil international has been linked with a summer exodus from Paris this summer with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United showing interest,
United, Chelsea and Newcastle would be the only realistic transfer options for Neymar if he does leave PSG, whom he joined for a world record £200million in 2017.
The Premier League trio are the only clubs with the financial might to meet the Parisians and the striker’s financial demands.

    Raph news
Raphinha’s agent was spotted at the Nou Camp less than 24 hours after Chelsea appeared to move into pole position to sign the Leeds winger.
The west Londoners dealt a hammer blow to Arsenal’s hopes of signing the Brazilian on Tuesday by tabling a bid north of £55million for his services.
A deal has yet to be reached and talks with the player’s agent – former Barcelona ace Deco – are set to take place later this week.
But Barca could be poised to land the winger after Deco was spotted at the Nou Camp with club chiefs Rafa Yuste, Mateu Alemany, Enric Masip and president Joan Laporta.
Spanish journalist Victor Navvaro captured footage of the group leaving the stadium and shared it on Twitter.

    Spurs ‘set to snag genius’
Tottenham are set to snap up the set-piece genius who help fire Italy to Euro 2020 glory.
Veteran coach Gianni Vio, 69, is in talks to join Antonio Conte’s backroom staff ahead of the new season as the Italian looks to improve Spurs’ threat from set pieces.
The ex-banker-turned-deadball boffin wrote a thesis on set pieces as part of his coaching badges and claims to have more than 4,000 routines up his sleeve.
Vio helped Roberto Mancini at Euro 2020 last year and has previously worked at AC Milan, Leeds and Brentford.
Of the big six, only Manchester United scored fewer goals from set pieces than Spurs’ eight last season, meaning it is an area Conte is desperate to improve as they bid to bridge the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool.
    Southampton ‘sign Man City starlet’
Southampton are on the verge of signing Man City starlet Romeo Lavia, according to reports.
The Saints were locked in battle with Leeds for the 18-year-old’s services.
But the Saint Mary’s outfit have emerged victorious in the transfer race, The Athletic reported.
City wanted to keep hold of Lavia and have the option to buy him back, the report adds.

    Dutch courage
Everton are leading the race to sign Tottenham star Steven Bergwijn, according to reports.
Spurs are believed to be open to selling the Netherlands international this summer amid interest from Everton and Ajax.
Bergwijn, 24, has also admitted that he is seeking a transfer as he looks to play regular football.
And it seems Everton have the upper hand as they are willing to offer Bergwijn more money than Ajax, report De Telegraaf.
The Toffees are reportedly ready to match Tottenham’s asking price too, believed to be in the region of £21million.
But Bergwijn is said to prefer a move to Ajax due to the Dutch champions being able to offer Champions League football.

    Rab race
Adrien Rabiot wants to leave Juventus to join a Premier League club this summer.
The Telegraph claim Rabiot wants to leave the Serie A heavyweights to join an English club playing Champions League football.
And Juventus have agreed to his requests and will look to offload him for between £13-17million this summer.
Betfair think Chelsea are the frontrunners at odds of 5/2.
Three other Champions League sides in Liverpool (5/1), Manchester City (8/1) and Tottenham (10/1) are next in the betting markets.
Italian publication Calciomercato claim Liverpool are hatching a plan to swap Adrien Rabiot and Naby Keita, who are both 27 with 12 months remaining on their current deals.
There’s a large jump to Europa League duo Manchester United and Arsenal, who are locked together at 20/1.

    Eye of the Hag-er
Erik Ten Hag is close to making Tyrell Malacia his first signing as Manchester United boss and he has liked the defender for some time.
United are reportedly set to hijack Lyon’s move for the Feyenoord star in a £14m deal.
And Ten Hag knows a lot about the left-back from his time as Ajax manager – when he first set eyes on the youngster.
Footage has emerged from a match between Feyenoord and Ajax when Malacia certainly caught the eye.
Ten Hag is seen saying in Dutch: “That kid at left-back is amazing.”
He also tells his assistant Michael Reiziger to take note of Malacia, possibly with a view to signing him in the future.

    Mad for you
Atletico Madrid are reportedly in talks with Arsenal over a transfer for Hector Bellerin.
Bellerin, 27, spent the season on loan at Real Betis and a move back to La Liga could be on the cards.
ElDesmarque report Atletico are “already negotiating” with the Gunners over the full-back, who has told the North London club of his desire to leave.
Bellerin knows “first-hand” of interest from the Madrid side and it is making him rethink his future.
He is “seduced” by the option of playing in the capital but Betis remains his preferred option after his successful 2021-22 campaign.
The Spain international impressed for his boyhood club where he helped the Seville outfit win the Copa del Rey, as well as finishing fifth.

    Luk at that
Inter Milan fans turned out in force to get a glimpse of the returning Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku arrived in Milan for a medical today after Chelsea agreed a £6.9million fee to ship the 29-year-old out on loan.
And Lukaku grinned broadly as he waved to adoring fans from the window of the Italian Olympic Committee’s headquarters in Milan.
The Chelsea flop waved and gave a thumbs up to the crowd who had defied a warning from Inter Ultras NOT to welcome Lukaku back to the club.
Scorned Curva Nord fanatics urged fans not to “run and drool” after Lukaku following his return.
Instead they claimed he will have to earn their affection back with “humility and sweat”.

    Col me maybe
Southampton are considering a move for Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill as Ralph Hasenhuttl looks to continue his youth revolution.
The Saints have already snapped up two young players this summer in Gavin Bazunu – a goalkeeper from Manchester City – and 20-year-old defender Armel Bella-Kotchap, who arrived from German club Vfl Bochum.
And now Hasenhuttl wants to make another raid on Chelsea’s youth ranks.
The south coast side took three players from Cobham last summer with Tino Livramento and Dynel Simeu joining on permanent deals as well as Armando Broja spending last season on loan.
Now Colwill is in Southampton’s sights – with Premier League rivals Leicester City also tracking his progress.
The defender, 19, spent last season on loan with Championship side Huddersfield, who reached the play-off final where they lost to Nottingham Forest.

Man Utd will struggle for goals without Cristiano Ronaldo and timing of transfer exit announcement ‘weird’, slams Sharpe

CRISTIANO RONALDO’S decision to tell Manchester United he wants to leave is “weird” timing, according to former player Lee Sharpe. It was confirmed last week that the 37-year-old has informed the Red Devils his desire to move elsewhere, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich thought to be in the running.
Ronaldo has told Manchester United he wants to leave the clubCredit: PA
Sharpe is baffled by the timing of Ronaldo’s announcementCredit: PA
It comes more than six weeks after Man Utd failed to secure Champions League football, finishing sixth in the Premier League following a dreadful campaign.
On a personal note, Ronaldo scored 24 goals in 38 appearances but failed to help United mount a title challenge.
The club’s wait for a trophy also extended to five years.
Yet despite their struggles, Sharpe, who spent eight years in the United first team between 1988 and 1996, feels it is poor timing on Ronaldo’s part – with the player yet to report back for training.

de Jong latest, Cristiano Ronaldo ‘offered’ to Chelsea
Speaking to bettors.ng, he said: “I think it’s a funny thing to come out with right now.
“Ronaldo has come out and said he wanted to play Champions League football for the rest of his career.
“He knew, even before the end of last season, that Manchester United weren’t going to be playing Champions League and didn’t ask for a transfer.
“The manager has just come in, and he hasn’t even been in training yet. It seems a bit of a weird one.”

Ronaldo’s individual performances were praised last season but the team’s overall form left a lot to be desired.
Sharpe, who won three Premier League titles with United, is concerned about the absence of goals which Ronaldo’s exit would bring.
However, he also believes the Portuguese forward’s departure could end up being a positive for the team as a whole.
“As far as the team goes, they will struggle because of the number of goals he brings to the team, but because of the age of him, I think they will be able to bring in someone a bit younger that possibly could play on that front foot and get the ball back and play the high pressing game, which Ronaldo is a little bit old to play.
“Disappointing in one way, but could possibly work out for the better in the end for the team.”

Meanwhile, wantaway superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is seemingly on ‘indefinite leave’ from the club after telling them he wants out.
The Portuguese icon has made it clear that he wants to quit and Ronaldo’s agent is reportedly in shock talks with Barcelona despite his Real Madrid legacy.
However, Manchester United are set to sign a minimum of FIVE players this month to soften the Ronaldo blow according to reports.
Frenkie de Jong is one of the top targets, with the Barcelona midfielder’s basic fee agreed, but add-ons appear to still be a point of contention between the two clubs.

    Juventus reach Pogba agreement
Juventus have reached an agreement to re-sign ex-Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba, according to Sky Sports.
Pogba rejoins Juve on a free transfer after running down his United contract in June.
The midfielder spent six years at Old Trafford after his record-breaking transfer in 2016 but struggled to meet expectations.
The France international played the best football of his career during his four-year tenure with the Bianconeri

Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave the club because it lacks ambition.
That’s according to United Stand host Mark Goldbridge, who said on talkSPORT: “This is what Cristiano Ronaldo is doing. It is not good enough for Manchester United.

    Ronaldo given ‘indefinite leave’
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has “effectively been given indefinite leave” after his transfer bombshell.
Ronaldo wasn’t part of the returning crop of players for pre-season training on Monday as he was given extra time off due to family reasons.
United are insisting that the Portugal captain’s absence is genuinely due to personal issues and that he is not for sale.
However, The Telegraph states that it is “unclear” when he will return and that there is doubt over whether he will fly to Asia and Australia on Friday with the rest of the squad for pre-season.
And they also add that it all “effectively amounts to a case of indefinite leave” for the star forward
    Pereira to Fulham
Manchester United outcast Andreas Pereira is set to join Fulham, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano tweeted: “Andreas Pereira to Fulham, here we go!
“Full agreement in place on player side, three year deal with option for further season.
“Manchester United will receive £10m plus £3m add ons, deal was already agreed between clubs last week. Now it’s all set to be done”
    Cristiano Ronaldo stats
Manchester United could actually be better off without Cristiano Ronaldo this coming season.
Ronaldo led the line for most of last season, and despite him topping the individual charts, United only managed to find the net 57 times in the Premier League.
However, the season before the star forward’s arrival last September proved to be much more fruitful as they scored 73 goals in 38 top-flight matches.
You may think that is clutching at straws, but even the Portugal captain’s former club Juventus’ goal output dried up after he moved there.
Juve fired 86 goals in their 2017/2018 Serie A title-winning campaign but in the three years that followed after he joined from Real Madrid that tally dropped to 70, 76 and then 77
    Ron to watch
Manchester United need to deal with Cristiano Ronaldo’s situation as soon as possible, according to club legend Gary Neville.
That is because the transfer saga could affect manager Erik ten Hag’s bid of rebuilding the team after a disastrous season.
Neville tweeted: “The only important factor with the Ronaldo situation is that it’s dealt with decisively and quickly.
“This can’t be a saga that takes the focus away from Erik ten Hag bedding in period for the next two months.”

    First Dybs for Paulo
Paulo Dybala is considering a move to the Premier League this summer with Manchester United interested.
Dybala left Juventus when his contract expired at the end of last season and is now a free agent with Inter Milan heavily linked with a swoop.
According to Sky Sport Italia, however, the Nerazzurri have put the forward on stand-by after the return of Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea.

“Whilst I know that I am still young and will continue to develop, I can promise the United fans that I will leave everything on the pitch every time I pull on the red shirt.
“I’ll always be thankful to Feyenoord for all they have given to me and my family.

Sources suggest the 37-year-old is “upset” his wages next season will drop by a quarter.
The star forward penned a contract worth £480,000-a-week when he made an emotional return to United last year.

Sharpe told bettors.ng: “But like I said, Luke Shaw is one of the best left-backs in the world on his day.
“If he can have a good pre-season, and get himself properly fit and be up for the challenge, I still think he’ll be the No1 left-back.

Pogba Juventus transfer COMPLETE, Lenglet to Tottenham in ‘FINAL’ steps
Pogba will join the Old Lady for free for the second time in his career, 10 years after first quitting United for Italy.
The midfielder spent four years in Turin from 2012 to 2016 winning before United splashed a club-record £89million to bring him back to Old Trafford.
He played 177 games in his first Juve spell, scored 34 goals, with 40 assists, and winning four titles and two Italian Cups.
And Italy’s most successful club, who finished fourth last campaign, want Pogba 2.0 to resurrect their title ambitions next season.

Juve chief Maurizio Arrivabene recently revealed: “Talks are progressing well with Pogba. This deal is gonna be key for us also on the commercial side.”
In a disappointing spell at United, Pogba made 233 appearances, recording 39 goals and 51 assists.
The Red Devils posted a lengthy tribute when his contract ended.
Part of the statement said: “It was a low-key end to a United career that had brought so many individual high moments, so many beautiful goals, assists and pieces of skill.
“But for a boy that joined the Academy at 16 to make over 200 United appearances and lift the Youth Cup, along with two major pieces of silverware is something that should be applauded and celebrated.
