Rangers beat PSV Eindhoven 3-2 on aggregate to reach the Champions League for the first time in 12 years.
And now Gers fans are eyeing a shock swoop for Manchester United star Ronaldo.
One Rangers supporter wrote: “Maybe Ronaldo should join Rangers. Can play CL football alongside Lord John Lundstram.”
Another added: “Ronaldo should join Rangers, since he wants to play in the champions league, life in Scotland is cool.”

And a third said: “Ronaldo wants champions league football, sign for the Glasgow Rangers.”
Earlier in the window CR7 reportedly asked United to let him leave in search of Champions League football.
But he is now short of options after seeing proposed moves to the likes of Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Sporting Lisbon collapse.
However, the superstar now has more options as Rangers were joined by five other clubs in qualifying for the Champions League this week.

Benfica are the pick of the teams but their rivalry with his boyhood club Sporting means the Portuguese club could be out of the question.
That leaves Copenhagen, Dinamo Zagreb, Maccabi Haifa and FC Viktoria Plzeň – none of whom are likely to appeal to Ronaldo.
Marseille are the latest club to be linked with Ronaldo, who can also offer Champions League football, but such rumours have upset club president Pablo Longoria who insists signing players like CR7 is not within the project. More

Man Utd legend Dwight Yorke SLAMS transfer policy and claims Red Devils ‘don’t need’ £70m Casemiro

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Dwight Yorke has slammed his former club’s transfer policy claiming they shouldn’t have signed Casemiro. The Real Madrid midfielder has just joined the club in a deal worth £70million and is yet to make an appearance.

Casemiro was unveiled to fans ahead of the clash with LiverpoolCredit: Getty
But Yorke, 50, has criticised the signing as well as hitting out at Man Utd’s recruitment set-up.
Speaking to Lord Ping, Yorke said: “Casemiro is a great player with pedigree, but he clearly wasn’t the first choice pick otherwise United would have signed him in June.
“I don’t think he is the type of player United need at the moment, but United aren’t getting top targets through the door so I imagine they’ve been a bit creative and signed the best player they could.”
The three-time Premier League champion believes the club can no longer attract the best players in the world.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
He added: “United used to be able to pick the best players in Europe, but Man City and Liverpool are more attractive clubs these days.
“Not qualifying for the Champions League, not playing expansive and flamboyant football, has contributed to United missing out on players.”
Yorke, currently manager of Australian side Macarthur FC, is shocked at the decline of Man Utd since Alex Ferguson’s departure saying: “Top four should never be described as a target for the club.
“It wouldn’t have been considered in my day, but that’s where we are as a football club. We absolutely need to qualify for the Champions League this year and anything else is a bonus.”

Despite Erik ten Hag masterminding an impressive win against Liverpool there remains long-term problems to fix.
And Yorke has suggested what he would have done.
He said: “I would have made Cristiano Ronaldo captain for the coming season. I think that would have been a clever move from Ten Hag.
“Because I don’t think Harry Maguire will be his number one centre-back and Ronaldo is the most experienced player in the team.
“That could have given Ronaldo a new lease of life. I don’t think you would have all of this uncertainty if he was appointed captain.”

Yorke stressed that the current squad does have quality in the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes and Ronaldo but those players must find their best form.
He believes part of Ten Hag’s job is to make the training ground at Old Trafford a happy place again and “get the players believing in his ideas and enjoying their football.”

Ronaldo’s agent has been in contact with a number of clubs competing in Europe’s top competition.
However, none are yet to make a concrete move for the legendary 815-career goal forward.
Marseille are the latest club to be linked with Ronaldo, but such rumours have upset president Pablo Longoria – who insists signing players like CR7 is not within the project.
Despite his future at United up in the air, Ronaldo continues to train hard and isn’t causing any problems in the dressing room, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Jorge Mendes is still trying to find Ronaldo a new club, but the situation is proving far from easy.
“He’s being super professional, training very hard and not causing any problems in the Manchester United dressing room.”
On Marseille, the Italian journalist added: “Olympique Marseille fans are so passionate about the team. They dream of this signing.
“But let me say, first point: there is nothing. As of today, there is nothing going on between Olympique Marseille and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“There are no meetings, no negotiations. But it’s also important to say, from what I am told, Marseille president Pablo Longoria is angry and sad with those rumours.
“Why? Because Longoria, together with his board of directors and the coaching staff, are doing their best to build Marseille.
“They feel they are doing their best to bring in many important players.
“The latest one, Eric Bailly, is on a loan deal with a buy option if they get Champions League next year.
“They have an idea, a project, a vision. And, as of today, Cristiano Ronaldo is absolutely not part of that project.
“They have a completely different vision for the present and the future of the club. They are not working on this deal.”
There’s just seven days remaining in the transfer window.
Mendes is continuing to look for a club, despite having very little time, and Romano says “let’s see what is next”.
Should Ronaldo remain at United, whether he’ll be handed a start anytime soon is yet to be seen.

Erik ten Hag was keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp but has reportedly turned his attention to landing Newcastle stopper Dubravka after being outpriced by the Germans.
That’s according to The Daily Mail, who claim the club have held “talks” over a late deal for the Slovakia international.
Newcastle would likely want a hefty fee for their No2 as selling him in the coming days would leave them with little time to find a replacement.
Toon boss Eddie Howe was left stunned by United’s reported interest in Dubravka and claimed he “didn’t know” anything of it.

But he’s refused to rule out the possibility of the Slovak leaving St James’ Park before the transfer window closes next month.
When asked about possible exits, the former Bournemouth boss said last-minute departures would be a “late call.”
Dubravka missed the Toon’s Carabao Cup second-round clash with Tranmere on Tuesday night through illness.
The 33-year-old has yet to feature this season, warming the bench in Newcastle’s Premier League clashes with Nottingham Forest, Brighton and Manchester City.

It is an exciting signing for Marseille, who finished second last season and have already started this Ligue 1 campaign with two wins and a draw.
Bailly, 29, joins former United team-mate Alexis Sanchez in the south of France after he sealed a free transfer from Inter.
And he will also be team-mates with Matteo Guendouzi whose been signed from Arsenal along with Gunners loanee Nuno Tavares.
Ivory Coast centre-back Bailly joined the Red Devils back in 2016 from Villarreal for £34.2 million.

He was signed by now-Roma boss Jose Mourinho, who was keen on a reunion in Italy until Marseille pounced.
Bailly made 25 appearances in his maiden campaign, but a series of injuries have stopped him ever fully establishing himself at Old Trafford.
Last season, he only managed three starts and came on as a sub on another occasion.

With Raphael Varane and new signing Lisandro Martinez forming a partnership, and with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in reserve, United were more than happy to let Bailly go.
And any outgoing will pave the way for the signings of Eredivisie pair Antony and Cody Gakpo.
