Kylian Mbappe told PSG to buy Marcus Rashford in summer with Man Utd striker on four-man transfer wishlist

KYLIAN MBAPPE reportedly wanted Paris Saint-Germain to sign Marcus Rashford in the summer. The 24-year-old English forward was linked with a move away from the Red Devils ahead of the new season after a lengthy period of poor form.

And PSG were rumoured to be interested in acquiring Rashford despite his record of just five goals in 32 appearances in the 2021/22 campaign.
Now RMC Sport are reporting that the Old Trafford attacker was one of four players Mbappe called on PSG to sign – none of which were secured.
The French superstar, 23, penned a new deal with the Ligue 1 champions in the summer, bringing an end to speculation over a move to Real Madrid.
And Mbappe was quickly keen to have a say on transfers.

The report states Rashford was leading the way as a player he wanted to see PSG sign.
Mbappe is also thought to have wanted the club to agree deals for Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele and Gianluca Scamacca.
But Bayern Munich man Lewandowski ended up joining Barcelona, while Dembele stayed at the Nou Camp.
And Scamacca joined West Ham from Sassuolo.

But PSG’s inability to sign any of that quartet does not appear to have affected them at the start of this season.
Christophe Galtier’s men have won 10 of their opening 11 matches in all competitions, dropping just two points in Ligue 1 and maintaining a 100 per cent record in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Rashford has turned his form around at Man Utd and seems to be thriving under Erik ten Hag.
He has registered three goals and two assists in six matches during the Red Devils’ four-match winning streak in the Prem.
And Rashford’s impressive streak saw him named the Premier League Player of the Month for September. More

Erling Haaland knows his Manchester derby history… but will call dad Alfie before facing Man Utd for extra motivation

ERLING HAALAND will have a chat with his dad Alf Inge before he plays in his first Manchester derby on Sunday. The Norwegian hotshot grew up as a City fan and won’t need any extra motivation for the showdown with United at the Etihad.

But Haaland Sr may provide some – as he was famously pushed towards retirement by a horror tackle from Roy Keane in this fixture 21 years ago.
The scars obviously run pretty deep in the 14-goal striker’s family.
When Erling was introduced to the City fans at a special event back in July he was asked which fixture he was looking forward to the most.
“I don’t like to say the words… Manchester United,” he replied – to huge cheers from the supporters who had gathered to greet him.

On Sunday he will get a first chance to show the Red Devils just how much he dislikes them – and might have some words from his old man ringing in his ears.
The £51.4million ace said: “I will probably speak to my dad about it, yeah, but I know what it’s like and I’m ready.
“I’m excited, it will be a great experience. Hopefully a good, intense game and I look forward to it.
“I expect United to be hard-working, they’ll come to us to try to destroy us but we have to believe in ourselves and to perform well and take advantage of being at home.

“We have to attack the game.”
Alf Inge’s career was not ended by Keane’s challenge – but he later claimed his sore knee had been a factor in his retirement the following year.
But his boy says he has other more positive recollections of the derby – with one in particular sticking in his mind.
He said: “I remember [Mario] Balotelli at Old Trafford with the ‘Why Always Me’ celebration. I remember that one particularly well. I gotta say.
“I’ve got some good memories but I’m looking forward to making some new ones.”
Much has been made of Haaland’s match up with United’s 5ft, 9in centre-back Lisandro Martinez – but the Norwegian says he does not worry too much who he is up against.
He said: “I’ve not really thought about it too much. I’ve already been facing a lot of good defenders – but there’s nobody I don’t want to face. It doesn’t matter.”
“But I’m hoping we can play our best football – if so I think it could be a lovely evening..
“I hope it’ll be fun. I’m hoping everyone at City is ready for the game and attacks at the same time.”
It is easy to forget Haaland could become the first player in Prem history to score three consecutive home hat-tricks – given the other two came at the end of August.

He smiled: ”I don’t think about that. Of course I love to score goals but I want to play good and perform well with the team and if we do that, as a striker I should always score goals.”
The bad news for United – and for defenders around the country – is that Pep Guardiola believes Haaland has put his injury woes behind him.
He struggled to stay fit during his final year at Borussia Dortmund and was not able to take part in the first week of pre-season as a result.
City sent physio Mario Pafundi with their striker to the Norwegian camp last week to keep an eye on him and to ensure the practices which have worked so well so far were followed.
And the City boss said: “I’ve always said to the club that the most important department in the backroom staff is the physios. They take care of the legs.
“Erling struggled a lot in Dortmund last year with injuries and arrived here with small problems after surgery in the summer.
“He started to work with Mario and other guys and thanks to them – and his work ethic – he can play regularly now.

“Last season it was not possible. Thank you to Erling and the treatment from the guys.
“The clubs earn a lot of money when the players can play and most of the time it’s thanks to the physios.”

Man Utd boosted in Endrick transfer chase as Brazil wonderkid’s agent denies he is on way to Real Madrid or Barcelona

MANCHESTER UNITED target Endrick is not joining Real Madrid or Barcelona any time soon. That is according to the Palmeiras wonderkid’s agent Frederico Pena, who slammed Spanish outlets claiming Real and Barca are moving in to sign the 16-year-old hotshot.

Pena confirmed there are many clubs keeping tabs on the Brazil Under-16 international but none have tabled an official offer to sign him.
That works as a major transfer boost for United, who have been keeping tabs on Endrick for a while.
However, Endrick can’t leave Brazil before he turns 18, therefore a potential deal won’t see the youngster moving from Palmeiras until 2024.
Pena told ESPN: “The international break is always the same, there’s no news and this ‘froth’ starts.

“Every club in the world is interested in Endrick. All of them! Which is the most normal thing in the world. With his quality, his youth…
“But none of them have made any proposal to us or Palmeiras to buy him.
“He has to play for Palmeiras until he turns 18. Consequently, he’ll play at Palmeiras for at least 22 more months.
“Endrick’s contract with Palmeiras runs until July 2025… He can only move abroad from Brazil from July 2024.

“No player under the age of 18 can move abroad. He can be sold, but he cannot be transferred.
“In other words, a club comes here, they do a deal with Palmeiras. But he can’t leave. He has to stay at Palmeiras even though he’s already been sold.”
Endrick joined the Palmeiras academy at the age of 11 and has since scored a staggering total of 165 goals.
The highly-rated centre-forward has yet to make his first-team debut, but has also attracted interest from Newcastle, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain. More

The Red Devils endured a miserable start to the campaign as they lost their Premier League opener to Brighton before getting thrashed 4-0 at Brentford.
But Ten Hag managed to turn things around with a stunning 2-1 victory over rivals Liverpool which led to a four-match winning streak in the Prem, including a big win over in-form Arsenal.
However, Sutton argues that the Gunners failed to take their chances at Old Trafford.
The Norwich legend claims that if Erling Haaland and co play “anywhere near as well” then they could thrash their foes with a score up to 4-1.

Sutton told the BBC: “For all the positivity about Manchester United’s progress under Erik ten Hag, they are playing Manchester City – who are the best team in the country and by far the best team in Manchester.
“We saw Arsenal created chances against United in their last league game, but failed to take them.
“If City play anywhere near as well as they can do, they will do the same – and they won’t miss.
“United could cause them problems on the counter, but a more likely scenario is that they are going to get pumped.”

United will be without out-of-favour captain Harry Maguire, who suffered a hamstring injury.
But Ten Hag has been boosted by Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford’s return to training.

However, Guardiola has been encouraged by Aymeric Laporte’s continued progress from a knee injury. More

And Ferguson did not take this well according to Sharpe.
He told the ‘Quickly Kevin, Will he Score? The 90s Football Show’ podcast: “I saw him a couple of years ago at the Man United golf day and he didn’t want to look at me but sort of said hello as he was walking past.
“But the time before that he completely blanked me.
“After I’d left United, he sort of said to me: ‘Listen, you’ve never been any trouble at this club, thanks for your services, if ever you need anything you know we’re here.’

However, Sharpe elaborated on his comments in his ‘My Idea of Fun’ autobiography, saying: “I just felt I’d had enough of Fergie and the way he was treating me.

“I couldn’t quite work out why I was playing bad one week and really good the next, and I wasn’t getting any help from him.

The winger scored 27 goals and registered a further 28 assists in 199 appearances for The Red Devils.
Sharpe then added: “We were doing the player of the year awards for Man United at Old Trafford and me and Lou Macari were on MUTV.

Man Utd facing battle to keep hold of rejuvenated Diogo Dalot with FIVE top European clubs eyeing transfer

MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly face a major fight to keep hold of rejuvenated Diogo Dalot. The 23-year-old has suffered a difficult time of it ever since his arrival from Porto in 2018.

After struggling to become a first-team regular, the Portuguese international was sent out on-loan to AC Milan for the 2020/21 campaign.
He once again failed to get much match action last term, however he is now one of the first names on the team sheet under new boss Erik ten Hag.
Dalot has overtaken Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the first-choice right-back at United.
However, the full-back’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season.

That means he will be free to discuss terms with clubs abroad from January and leave for free in June.
We reported earlier this week that both Barcelona and Juventus were considering a move.

Now Mundo Deportivo are claiming that five clubs are now circling and preparing a transfer swoop.
Both Barca and Juve are named again as interested parties but they allegedly face competition from Atletico Madrid, Jose Mourinho’s Roma and Dalot’s former club Milan.

United do, however, have the option to extend the defender’s contract by a year.
This latest report also states that Dalot is now enjoying life and United under Ten Hag.
And he is allegedly “torn between a new renewal proposal and the interest of five European clubs”.
It was reported earlier this month that Dalot is one of five players set to have contract extensions triggered by the club.
Marcus Rashford, David De Gea, Luke Shaw and Fred are all also poised to have their deals extended for a further year.
Like Dalot, all four are out of contract at the end of the season, but United have the option to extend until 2024. More

Erik ten Hag wins Man Utd only their second Manager of the Month in last DECADE despite Red Devils playing just twice

The Red Devils suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Brighton on the opening day of the campaign.
They were then thumped 4-0 at Brentford as alarm bells really started ringing.
However, the Dutchman navigated the storm superbly as United bounced back with a victory over Liverpool followed by a win at Southampton.
But it was United’s superb September that has led to Ten Hag receiving his first Manager of the Month award – even though the club only played two top-flight matches.

Jadon Sancho’s goal got it off to a flyer as that secured the points from their away game at Leicester.
Then a thrilling display against Arsenal on September 4 made it four-straight Premier League victories.
Unfortunately, that momentum has been temporarily halted after fixtures with Crystal Palace and Leeds United were both called off.
But despite the limited game-time, United’s displays have still proven to be enough to earn Ten Hag the prize.

And he will now be desperate to avoid the dreaded curse that is so often associated with the accolade as he prepares his troops for Sunday’s Manchester derby against City at the Etihad.
Ten Hag has become the first United manager since January 2019 to win the award.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the last boss to get it while in the Old Trafford dug-out.
United’s legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson holds the record for the most monthly wins with a whopping total of 27.
And prior to Solskjaer, he was the last United gaffer to scoop the honour way back in October 2012.
David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ralf Rangnick all failed to win the award during their respective times in charge of Manchester United.

Ten Hag isn’t expected to make many changes from the team that played and beat Arsenal
City welcome United to their home already holding a five-point advantage in the table.
Pep Guardiola’s side are sat second on 17 points, one behind table toppers Arsenal.

Man Utd, meanwhile, are down in fifth on 12.
Unfortunately for new Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, it looks like he’ll be without main man Marcus Rashford for the Manchester Derby.

The 37-year-old wanted OUT of Old Trafford in the summer after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League last season.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, worked overtime to engineer a move away, but there were no bites.
Jadon Sancho and summer signing Antony would surround Ronaldo with pace and flair.
Bruno Fernandes would play in behind his fellow countryman, Ronaldo, and a midfield duo of Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay could sit in front of the backline.
Tyrell Malacia has impressed since joining from Feyenoord and may be selected to defend the left flank.
Barring any late injuries, Raphael Varane should be partnered by Lisandro Martinez.
