Man Utd believe Cristiano Ronaldo will STAY in transfer U-turn after being impressed by Casemiro and Antony signings

MANCHESTER UNITED believe Cristiano Ronaldo could make a dramatic U-turn and buy into Erik ten Hag’s revolution after the club’s spending splurge.Red Devils legend Ronaldo wanted out after last season, when they finished with their lowest points total in Premier League history.

His agent Jorge Mendes has been searching for a new club all summer — without success.
But the mood has changed since United completed their fifth new signing with the £85.5million capture of Brazilian winger Antony from Ajax.
And the club’s hierarchy are now hoping Ronaldo can see the ambition at United to get back to the top after a club-record window spend of £207m.
Antony joins Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen, with Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka also set to join on loan.

Ronaldo had been looking for a club that could add to his five Champions League medals but no deal has materialised.
Manager Ten Hag had been happy to let the player go as there was a feeling he was affecting the mood in the camp.
Ten Hag left Ronaldo out of the starting line-up for the last two games.
He has always been keen to work with the Portugal superstar — but it has to be on his terms.

The Red Devils lost their first two games but there have now been back-to-back wins over Liverpool and Southampton.
Yet while United have strengthened in defence, midfield and now on the wing with Antony, they still do not have an out-and-out scorer in the vein of Ronaldo.
That is why they have been trying to hang on to him and hoping he changes his mind.
Meanwhile, Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder slammed United for splashing out big money for Antony — and also criticised the player’s conduct.
Schreuder said: “The amounts are crazy. United also paid more than €100m for Sancho.
“Then you can pay that for him [Antony], too. Are the players worth it? No.”
Antony missed Ajax’s last two games and trained alone in a bid to push through the deal.
And Schreuder added: “It’s bad. That’s weird. He was eventually addressed about that. I’m angry about it.”

How Man Utd could line up at Leicester with Cristiano Ronaldo NOT IN SQUAD as transfer deadline hours away

MANCHESTER UNITED could have a bold new look to their side against Leicester on Thursday. That’s possibly WITHOUT Cristiano Ronaldo, who is likely to still be searching for an exit on deadline day.

How United could line up against Leicester
David De Gea will continue in goal for Erik ten Hag’s side after bouncing back from his Brentford nightmare.
The Dutch boss is also unlikely to change a winning formula in defence.
That means Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia are nailed on to retain their places.
But it’s in midfield where things start getting exciting for United.

Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes have proved their worth so far and are likely to play.
But the match could see new £70million anchorman Casemiro make his full debut.
As for the attack, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are sure to lead the way after impressing at Southampton.
However, there could be a change on the right wing.

Another way United could look against Leicester
That’s because United have confirmed an £85.5m deal to sign Antony from Ajax.
The Brazilian is in the process of finalising his move to Old Trafford.
And he could be thrust straight into the starting XI.
But United have plenty of other options if they want to change things up.

With midweek fixtures coming thick and fast, Ten Hag could decide to shake things up entirely.
Martin Dubravka is on the verge of joining from Newcastle and could be given a debut in goal.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are also desperate for starts.
And a different midfield could see Scott McTominay, Fred and Donny van de Beek get the chance to impress.

Man Utd ‘exploring possibility of signing Barcelona star Dest and will allow Wan-Bissaka to leave if transfer gets done’

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly plotting a late move for Barcelona star Sergino Dest. And if they managed to land the right-back, Erik ten Hag will then sanction an exit for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Sky Sports claims United are preparing for a flurry of transfer activity ahead of Thursday’s deadline.
The Red Devils today confirmed the £85.5million arrival of Brazilian forward Antony from Ajax.
And United are also thought to be in the market for a new striker as Cristiano Ronaldo continues to push for an exit.
But Ten Hag is focusing on signing a right-back too.

Diogo Dalot has started the season as Ten Hag’s preferred choice in the role.
But he is now targeting Dest to bring more speed and attacking intent down the right flank.
The duo worked together at Ajax during the 2019/20 campaign before Dest was snapped up by Barca.
However, the 21-year-old is now up for sale as the Spaniards look to raise funds.

And United are considering a swoop before linked clubs – including league rivals Chelsea – make their move.
Should Dest wind up at Old Trafford this week, United will then allow Wan-Bissaka to depart.
The 24-year-old has made just one appearance this term.
Wan-Bissaka cost United £50million to sign from Crystal Palace three years ago.
And the Eagles are bidding to bring him back to Selhurst Park.

Man Utd’s most expensive signings ever
Indeed, Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba cost more than Antony – despite being signed five and six years ago respectively.
Expectations for United’s newest forward will be high as Erik ten Hag looks to bring the good times back to Old Trafford.
But how did the Red Devils’ other big-money signings cope with the pressure?
SunSport’s Anthony Chapman takes a look to see if they were a HIT, MISS – or simply in between.

Antony set to begin Man Utd career with FINE from Ajax as Van Basten slams him for ‘not proving much’ in two years

United completed the staggering £85.5million move.
After a summer-long pursuit, Antony eventually forced his way out of the Amsterdam club, begging to leave for Old Trafford.
Following an explosive interview with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the forward was finally left out of the Ajax match squad.
And his now ex-gaffer Schreuder has told Ziggo Sports show ‘Rondo’ that Anthony could be docked wages.

Schreuder explained: “Absolutely [he could be fined]. I don’t think it’s good that it’s possible within our club. If you’re Ajax, it’s just bad that this happens.
“I’ve talked about it with Antony. If you’re disappointed for a day or two, I understand, but at some point you’re a professional.
“Then I said: ‘I will continue with the guys who are there’.

“Then I think: ‘you’re just a f***ing player’. You just have to do your thing. I talk to him about it and hear his side of the story.
“You try to brush it off as a manager and move on with the guys you do have. But my personal feeling is that it’s just bad.”
Ajax icon Marco van Basten also sensationally claimed that Man Utd are paying “far too much money” to sign the winger.
He said: “Is Antony worth £85.5m? No, by far no.
“Antony hasn’t proven much yet. Of course he played a few good games. But his efficiency has not been high in the last two years.”
Antony is now poised to link up with former boss Erik Ten Hag and his new team-mates.

In response to a tweet outlining the characteristics of Antony – then a 19-year-old playing for Sao Paulo – the supporter forecast the big money transfer.
They said: “A name that will be linked with a 80 million move to United after one good season with a European team.”
The tweet – which has now gone viral – sparked a hilarious reaction from other fans, who have been left bewildered by the extraordinary accuracy of the claim.

“I made it clear once again: I want to leave.”

However, the report states advice from Isak’s agent led to the 37-cap international turning down Erik ten Hag’s advances.
And United, therefore, did not make an official bid as they continue to hunt for a new forward – with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Victor Osimhen both targeted.
