Caicedo was linked with the likes of United before joining Brighton from South American side Independiente del Valle for £4.5million last year.
The links re-emerged over the summer, with Liverpool also thought to be keen on the midfielder.

“He is a humble boy, he was born to be great and hopefully he can come to Manchester United.”
Brighton are trying to tie the midfield star down to a new deal following the interest in the summer.
But the Ecuador international inflamed rumours earlier this month when he opened the door to a reunion with Graham Potter at Chelsea.
He said: “I think they [Chelsea] are one of the best teams in the world and nobody would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that.

“It’d be a dream to be in the best teams in the world and succeed there.”
Caicedo has one goal in six Prem appearances so far this season.
United could also move back in for Youri Tielemans in January after missing out on the Leicester midfielder in the summer.

Liverpool are known to be in the market for a new midfielder after being hit by numerous injuries this season.
And Bellingham, 19, is reportedly at the top of Jurgen Klopp’s shopping list for next summer.
It’s believed that the Reds will have to break the bank for his signature though.
That’s because Bellingham’s current club Borussia Dortmund value the ace at a whopping £130m.

But the Athletic claims Liverpool could have landed Bellingham almost a decade ago for a fraction of price.
The teenager was playing at Under-11 level when Liverpool invited him for a two-day trial at Kirkby.
Bellingham blew the coaches and scouts away with his talent.
And an offer quickly came in for the youngster to join Liverpool.

The grand total of the transfer would have come in at £9,000.
However, it required Bellingham’s family to swap the Midlands for Merseyside.
And after much deliberation, they decided to stay put in Birmingham.
It’s added that Liverpool respected the decision, and have been closely monitoring Bellingham’s progress ever since.
But there is added interest in Bellingham this time too.

The striker is yet to make his first team debut, but a number of European giants already consider him a top prospect.
And according to Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham have joined the race to sign him.
All three clubs are lining up a bid for Endrick, who has already scored five goals in four appearances for Brazil’s U17’s squad.
But, they face competition from both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.

Nicola claims that Los Blancos have “never stopped monitoring” the young star while PSG “seem like the favourites” to sign him at this stage.
Endrick has a £35million release clause so any Prem club will have to trigger that before tabling a huge contract offer in a bid to lure him away from Paris or Madrid.
Tottenham are on the hunt for a potential long-term replacement for Harry Kane, who could be on his way to Bayern Munich next summer.
The England skipper is reportedly ‘tempted’ by the prospect of a move with the German giants prepared to make a huge offer.

Meanwhile Man Utd are seeking a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been pushing for a move away from Old Trafford since July.
The Red Devils failed to sign Christopher Nkunku, Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland during the summer so Erik ten Hag is prepared to jump at the chance to sign another attacker.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe strengthened his attack over the summer by signing Alexander Isak in a club-record £63m transfer from Real Sociedad.
But, introducing Endrick would provide more competition for the Swede as well as Callum Wilson and Chris Wood. More

Barcelona ‘rushing to finalise Antoine Griezmann’s Atletico Madrid transfer’ amid interest from Man Utd

He has only been appearing off the bench after the hour mark for Diego Simeone’s side.
That is due to Atletico being obliged to pay Barcelona £35m if he plays in 50 per cent of their game time during his loan period.
Forward Griezmann is growing increasingly frustrated over his substitute appearances, which has sparked Manchester United’s interest.
Erik ten Hag is believed to be plotting a January swoop for the World Cup winner if his current situation at Atletico remains unsolved.

However, now a fresh report from Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona are looking to negotiate a transfer with their LaLiga rival’s for a reduced £22m.
And they want the deal completed by January 7 – the date the two teams face each other for the first time this season in LaLiga.
Barca could still take legal action if it is not resolved but they would rather try to find an amicable compromise first.
The Catalan team are insisting that Atletico have already triggered the option to buy during the first of his two-year loan when he featured for over 50 per cent of their game time.

From his eight games this campaign, Griezmann has chipped in with three goals – two of which have come in LaLiga.

Atletico boss Simeone has strongly hinted that the restrictions have been placed on him from the higher-ups at the club. More

The 37-year-old has been left on the bench since the transfer window shut with no takers – starting just TWO games all season so far.
Evra spoke to Betfair and reckons: “With those big decisions Ten Hag sent massive shockwaves.
“Let’s be clear, to put Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench is a massive statement, because Ronaldo will think it’s not fair, last year he scored like 18 goals, so in his head he will be like ‘why am I on the bench?’
“He’s right, but you have a manager and you have to respect his decision.

“I understand the frustration of Ronaldo, but also Ten Hag was like ‘I’m going to start a new era, Ronaldo is still in my plan,’ and I’m sure Ronaldo is in his plan.
“Maybe, United need to suffer right now and they will need other players, but you will always need Ronaldo, trust me, there will be a moment when we say thanks Cristiano, please stay, I’m convinced about that.
“I think Ten Hag and Ronaldo need to, if they haven’t already, have an honest discussion. Everything that is happening right now is logic. ”

The forward was keen to leave in the summer and demanded a transfer to a club able to offer Champions League football.
And although a move didn’t materialise, Ronaldo’s future is still up in the air.
Despite grabbing his first goal of the season earlier this month, his United team-mates think he will be off in January.
There are lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia on the table.
And Serie A leaders Napoli could also try to tempt Ronaldo into a move after showing interest in the forward in the offseason. More

United made the appointment despite Rangnick’s last managerial role coming two years prior at RB Leipzig.
In fact, Rangnick was plucked from his manager of sports and development role at Lokomotiv Moscow.
And his two-year stint out of club management was evident as he struggled to get a firm grip on the first-team.
United crashed out of the Champions League in the Round of 16 to Atletico Madrid.

The Red Devils also failed to qualify for Europe’s top club competition through their league finish.
Rangnick’s men settled for sixth, condemning them to Europa League football this term.
However, one positive from Rangnick’s stint is that he wasn’t shy to publicly highlight the problems at the club.
Nonetheless, the results on the pitch weren’t good enough, and as revealed by journalist Kieran Maguire, Rangnick’s dismissal set United back eight figures.

United shelled out nearly £15m in redundancy costs.
Erik ten Hag took over in the summer, leaving long-term club Ajax behind, and Rangnick was supposed to take up a consultancy role to support the new boss.
However, the new role never came about and the two parties went their separate ways, resulting in the eye-watering cost to sack Rangnick.
Rangnick has since moved into international management, taking over the Austrian national team.
And Ten Hag was backed to the tune of £216m this summer.
