And Dortmund’s valuation has rocked Bellingham’s admirers as it was thought Prem clubs were considering bidding at around £87m.
The playmaker is under contract until 2025 and the German giants hope to fend off any transfer war until at least the summer.
And if Dortmund do get near the asking price reported by Bild, it still should be better value than the Prem’s three previous £100m-plus deals.
Philippe Coutinho never reproduced his Liverpool form after Barcelona paid £121.5m for the Brazilian in January 2018.

That’s the current record fee involving an English top-flight club.
England wideman Jack Grealish is not the key man for Manchester City that he was at Aston Villa, despite costing £105.75m in January 2021.
And as with Coutinho, the Prem also got the best out of another entertainer before he switched to Spain for the third-highest sum.
Eden Hazard has been beset by poor displays and fitness issues since  leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid at a cost of £103.50m in June 2019.

It’s Graham Potter’s Blues who appear to have made the clearest move yet from a Prem club for Bellingham.
Chelsea reportedly told Dortmund they would go close to £90m, rather than target his Three Lions’ team-mate Declan Rice at West Ham.
Stamford Bridge owner Todd Boehly is also said to be keen on RB Leipzig midfielders  Christopher Nkunku and Josko Gvardiol. More

Man Utd tipped to sign the ‘next Wayne Rooney’ by Red Devils legend in bid to finally solve striker conundrum

Owen questioned the lack of potent strikers in the United ranks, pointing out the fact Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have never been reliable goalscorers.
Speaking to AceOdds, Owen said: “I think when you’re Manchester United, you’re probably looking at the next Wayne Rooney, the next 18-year-old, 19-year-old, 20-year-old.
“If you’re going to buy somebody that you’re going to pay, make money and that’s going to nail that position down for the next decade. But there’s nobody really out there at the moment that they’ve done that with.
“So they’ve had to bring players in like Casemiro, like Ronaldo, very much the here and now. But they might need to be replaced in the short-term.

“Cristiano Ronaldo obviously isn’t getting any younger and is not going to be there for another four, five years.
“You never know, it might be his last season. So from that point of view, you do wonder where goals will come from. Marcus Rashford has always been a goal scorer but never been absolutely prolific.
“[Anthony] Martial has had lots of chances over time. He’s never been really prolific into the twenties, let’s say. So I think in terms of scoring goals, that’s where Manchester United will have to address it at some point.”
Erik ten Hag reportedly tried to upgrade his attacking options in the summer by signing PSV forward Cody Gakpo.

Once he retired he was then appointed as a coach working under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before taking over as a caretaker boss for a few games once the Norwegian was sacked.
But it was his former manager Sir Alex Ferguson who offered him advice before taking up the job at Middlesbrough.
Carrick revealed: “I spoke to Sir Alex a few times. I probably spoke to him more since I stopped playing than I did when I was playing, I didn’t want to get too close to him when I was playing.
“It’s well documented that he takes real pride in ex-players progressing into coaches or managers and takes pride in helping them as well.
“He’s certainly done that for me and I really appreciate the advice he’s given me.
Carrick also thanked Mourinho for handing him his first coaching role.

This means he is free to begin talks with non-English clubs from the turn of the year.
Rashford’s representatives met with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer but a move never seemed close to being done.
And United boss Erik ten Hag is now keen to keep him at the club as he sees the England man as integral to his plans.
The Mail, confirming our story from September, say this means United will look to trigger the one-year extension written into Rashford’s £200,000-a-week contract.

The club are not confident of tying him down to a new contract before January, particularly given the World Cup is on the horizon.
As a result, it is believed they will utilise a clause to further his existing deal by 12 months, giving them time to negotiate a new deal.
Rashford has shown a return to form so far this season as Ten Hag has put faith in him to lead the line for United ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.
He has contributed seven goals and three assists in 15 appearances.
