Another added: “Mings making sure Ronaldo knows no means no, as usual he didn’t take well to that news.”
A third said: “Ronaldo should try his chance in wrestling after he retires!”

Ten Hag revealed that he handed him the armband because he is a natural leader.
The Dutchman told Sky Sports: “Nothing changed, when you are captain and leader you have to set an example and that is what I expect from him.

“He is an important part of the squad, we are happy with him and now he has to take even more of the leader role.”

Man Utd will let Aaron Wan-Bissaka join Crystal Palace in loan transfer after playing just FOUR MINUTES for Erik ten Hag

MANCHESTER UNITED will let Aaron Wan-Bissaka go ‘home’ to Crystal Palace if the clubs can agree a loan deal.Wan-Bissaka is well out of favour under Erik ten Hag — playing just four minutes for the first team as a substitute back in August and only getting a brief look at the bench in recent weeks.

Palace boss Patrick Vieira would take their former defender back but a loan move is the only way he can afford him — and that will take some negotiating.
Wan-Bissaka, 24, needs a fresh start after his Old Trafford move turned into a nightmare.
United paid £45million for the right-back in the summer of 2019.
But their chances of getting decent money from selling are limited because of his fall from grace and the fact he has less than two years left on a five-year deal.

Palace may have to pick up all of Wan-Bissaka’s £80,000-a-week wages making it an expensive deal even without having to pay a transfer fee.
Wan-Bissaka will also want his long-term future sorted, adding a further complication to negotiating a return to Selhurst Park.
Meanwhile, Vieira is planning to let teenager Malcolm Ebiowei go out on loan to give him game time.
The exciting wideman joined from Derby last summer and figures regularly on the bench for Palace.

Yet Ebiowei, 19, has made just three first-team appearances and a move, probably to the Championship, would help his progress.
Ebiowei scored and starred for Palace Under-23s against Arsenal last week but needs games at a good level to stay sharp. More

Erik ten Hag praises Cristiano Ronaldo for his DEFENDING… as wantaway Man Utd icon’s goalscoring woes go on

The Red Devils have only conceded once in their last seven games — a penalty in the 1–1 draw with Chelsea.
Ronaldo missed that Stamford Bridge clash after Ten Hag axed him for refusing to go on as a sub in the 2–0 win over Tottenham and then walking down the tunnel five minutes before the final whistle.
But CR7 is back in Ten Hag’s good books after he hailed the forward for his tracking back.
Ten Hag said: “We defend with 11, starting with Cristiano up front.

“So we are hard to beat as a team. That’s a compliment but it’s also that process we have to keep going.
“That makes it hard to beat us because everyone is convinced of that plan, everyone is disciplined in that plan.
“When we play with the desire and passion, we are hard to beat and that makes us, in this moment, successful.”
Desire and passion were not the first words former Ajax boss Ten Hag would have used to describe superstar Ronaldo – who went into a super sulk.

Ronaldo, 37, was already on a warning from Ten Hag having left Old Trafford at half-time after being replaced in a pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano.
Ronaldo’s act of contrition was accepted, so he started in the 3–0 Europa League win over Sheriff Tiraspol — scoring the 701st club goal of his career.
And he has been there at kick–off ever since, against West Ham and Real Sociedad and, again, NO goals have been conceded.
Ronaldo will be up front again at Villa Park on Sunday.
However, his Portuguese team-mate Bruno Fernandes will be missing, suspended after picking up five bookings.
Ten Hag has always been adamant that no player — not even a scoring phenomenon like Ronaldo — is irreplaceable.
But fiery playmaker Fernandes has figured in every game under the new Red Devils boss and he admitted: “Yeah, until now, Bruno is so important for us.
“In every match, he plays really good — as a No 10, he’s playing really good games and we have to replace him.
“That’s the squad. You need a squad, it’s not about 11 players.
“You need a squad to win in a season and now we have to replace him and we will do.”
As United fans start believing a Champions League place can be achieved this season, against all expectations, they have voted new-boys Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez first and second in the club’s player of the month awards.
Yet Ten Hag underscores the new togetherness among his players as a major factor in how the midfielder and defender have settled down.
He explained: “The signings thank the squad.
“They are the right players with the right players who were already there. And together, they are forming a team and the team spirit is good — it’s high.

“So we need to keep that going, keep constructing that, keep building that, and bring even more passion and desire in because we want to win something.”

Man Utd ‘target Benjamin Sesko and Dusan Vlahovic transfers as they prepare for life without Cristiano Ronaldo’

The Red Devils boss tried to sign a striker over the summer but was met with protests after targeting former West Ham star Marko Arnautovic.
Now United are on the lookout for another Austrian front-man, Benjamin Sesko, according to The Telegraph.
The club have been monitoring the 19-year-old striker since he broke into RB Salzburg’s first team last season.
But United could have difficulty trying to sign the youngster as he has a pre-contract agreement with Red Bull group and is set to join RB Leipzig.

He could also cost up to £40millon – a big fee for a forward who has scored just six goals in 23 games this season.
But United are believed to be keen on signing a striker with a lot of potential and Juventus attacker Dusan Vlahovic has also caught the eye.
Vlahovic signed for the Italian side only last January but United are reportedly monitoring his situation with Max Allegri’s side struggling in Serie A and out of the Champions League.
The Serbia international is also likely to command a significant fee after Juventus splashed out £62m on him amid interest from Arsenal.

Any new arrival will need to buy into Ten Hag’s project and his philosophy of togetherness – much like Ronaldo.
The Dutchman has praised Ronaldo since he returned to the side after he was dropped against Chelsea but there is still talk of the Portuguese leaving.
Napoli are said to be interested in a January move with the striker also open to the switch to the Serie A leaders.
But there is dwindling interest in the superstar and he could remain at Old Trafford if Ten Hag is unable to find a replacement. More

Chelsea one of three clubs leading transfer chase for Endrick as Man Utd fall behind in bid to land Brazilian wonderkid

MANCHESTER UNITED have fallen behind in the transfer race to sign Endrick. The Brazilian wonderkid is being monitored by a number of European heavyweights ahead of a potential transfer.

Endrick shot to fame after scoring 165 goals in the Palmeiras academyCredit: Getty
Such names include financial powerhouses Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.
And according to Fabrizio Romano, the trio are all “pushing hard” to sign Endrick.
No official bids have been sent to Palmeiras yet, although Romano is reporting a bid will be submitted soon.
The 16-year-old has a release clause worth £52million, but cannot join any club overseas until 2024.
    READ MORE ON CHELSEA
Endrick’s agent Frederico Pena explained the reasoning behind this.
He said: “He has to play for Palmeiras until he turns 18. Consequently, he’ll play at Palmeiras for at least 22 more months.
“Endrick’s contract with Palmeiras runs until July 2025… He can only move abroad from Brazil from July 2024. No player under the age of 18 can move abroad. He can be sold, but he cannot be transferred.
“In other words, a club comes here, they do a deal with Palmeiras. But he can’t leave. He has to stay at Palmeiras even though he’s already been sold.”

Pena also squashed rumours of an agreement with Real Madrid, which had given Man Utd a boost to their own hopes of signing the teenager.
And Endrick fuelled this speculation further by copying the new celebration of Cristiano Ronaldo after scoring a goal during his last game.
Endrick shot to fame in Brazil following a meteoric rise in the Palmeiras academy where he scored a staggering 165 goals. More

Bellingham, 19, is a priority signing for Real Madrid – although Liverpool have taken steps to put themselves in pole position.
According to ESPN, Jurgen Klopp’s side are building a “close relationship” with the midfielder’s representatives.
They add that Liverpool are working hard on a “framework” for the deal.
Bellingham is under contract in Germany for another two-and-a-half years – although Dortmund are likely to let him go either in January or more likely next summer.
    READ MORE ON LIVERPOOL
It is suggested that it could take a fee in the region of £130million to snap up the Three Lions ace.
Liverpool opted against making a big splash in the transfer market for a midfielder last summer – instead choosing to wait for Bellingham.
They decided to keep Naby Keita for the last year of his contract, while signing Arthur Melo on loan.
Spanish paper Marca claim that Real Madrid have received assurances that Bellingham wants to play for them.

But the Spanish champions would not be able to afford the package that Liverpool are putting together.
Chelsea are also set to be in the mix, with Todd Boehly eager to sign Bellingham.
Despite the American’s spending power, however, the Blues find themselves behind in the race at present.
Manchester United have also been mentioned as Bellingham suitors in the past, but are not at the front of the queue. More

And winger Garnacho will be hoping his recent good form will earn him a place in Erik Ten Hag’s starting XI this weekend.
The Spaniard was on target in the Red Devils’ Europa League triumph over Real Sociedad on Thursday night – scoring the only goal of the game.
The 18-year-old’s display in the Basque Country has made a solid case for him to start against the Villans.
Another Red Devil who made a strong case to start at Villa Park is club skipper Harry Maguire.

The England international returned to the starting XI in last weekend’s 1-0 victory over West Ham and also featured in the win over Sociedad.
Maguire turned in a steady performance worthy of retaining his place in the starting XI.
The 29-year-old’s back-to-back starts against the Hammers and Sociedad came after he was dropped from the XI following United’s horror shows against Brighton and Brentford in August.
Victory at the Reale Arena wasn’t enough for United top Group E, meaning Ten Hag’s troops will have to go into a playoff against a demoted team from this year’s Champions League.

He said: “You do not always get what you deserve.
“That’s always football. The first leg, you get a penalty that isn’t a penalty. Today we win. So I’m happy with that.”
Ten Hag said of Garnacho’s strike: “Some other things like the performance from Garnacho, Donny back in the team, we made a really good goal.
“But, of course, we are disappointed because we didn’t score the two goals we need.
“Antony was not available, Anthony Martial was not available, Jadon Sancho was not available, so it’s thin, and I am really happy with Garnacho’s performance.
