Blyth Spartans make incredible Cristiano Ronaldo transfer bid… offering Man Utd a pie and a pint of Stella

Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford is up in the air following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan, in which the club are now considering ripping up his contract.
The attacker has failed to gain regular game time this season under new manager Erik ten Hag and has often been on the bench.
Ronaldo has only managed one goal in his ten Premier League appearances this season.
The 37-year-old had been linked with moves to former club Sporting Lisbon, Chelsea and the MLS but no transfer developed.

However, Blyth Spartans have jokingly offered Ronaldo a new home and have off Manchester United “a shy’s pie and a pint of Stella” for the once most expensive player in the world.
The club tweeted: “Hi Manchester United. We hear Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for a move?
“We’ll take him off your hands for a shy’s pie and a pint of Stella!”
Although, due to the attacker’s poor form this season, even Blyth fans are saying that they don’t want the five-time Ballon d’Or winner at their club.

One tweeted: “Don’t think he’s enough to save use from the drop this season.”
Another said: “He ain’t getting the 7 off Richardson!”
A third added: “Poor mans Curtis Round.”
A fourth commented: “I’d sooner bring Robbiedinho out of retirement.”
Blyth are not the only club that have tried to sign a star from the Premier League, as Ashton United submitted a loan offer for Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.
The club have argued that they can help the striker maintain his fitness during the break for the World Cup, with his native Norway failing to qualify.
However, they are yet to hear back if their offer has been successful from Manchester City. More

Cristiano Ronaldo must leave Man Utd.. his disruptive behaviour makes it impossible for club to compete says Sheringham

CRISTIANO RONALDO has slammed Manchester United for still being stuck in the Fergie era but his exit could finally signal a way out.The Portuguese superstar, 37, all but ended his second spell at Old Trafford after his bombshell exclusive interview with Piers Morgan in Monday’s Sun.
Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that he felt “betrayed” by Manchester United in an interview with Piers Morgan.
Teddy Sheringham thinks that Ronaldo has to leave Manchester United.Credit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
Ronaldo hit out at United for not moving on from the past, still pining for his former gaffer Sir Alex Ferguson, who retired in 2013.
But even his return from Juventus last year signalled clearly that United were a club with one eye still in the Fergie years, having not won a Premier League crown since the legendary Scot left Old Trafford.
And United great Teddy Sheringham says they must be serious about moving on in order to challenge for the title again.
The Champions League hero also knows they cannot put up with the Ronaldo sideshow if they are to kick on this season.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
He told SunSport: “It’s time for him to go. The Fergie years are long gone.
“They’ve got to move on. They’re chasing Manchester City and Liverpool now, that’s the main thing.
“You have got to get on a level with them and disruptions like this don’t make it easy. You want all your players rowing in the same direction.”
Ronaldo’s tirade against United and manager Erik ten Hag, claiming he felt “betrayed”, have left the club with only one option — he CANNOT return.

Sheringham said: “Even the softest manager has got to say now, ‘OK, enough is enough. You don’t respect me. You’re openly saying it. Let’s part ways’.
“I thought he should have gone at the start of the season when he made it quite clear that he wasn’t happy.
“They’ve tried to make it work. It obviously hasn’t worked. His body language is still not great. It’s bad enough when you have an unhappy player, but an unhappy superstar…
“He’s going to rock the boat so let him go and use the money wisely.”
Ronaldo lambasted Dutchman Ten Hag for not showing him respect this season, having blocked a more amicable move away in the summer transfer window.
The No 7 said: “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”
For Sheringham, who made over 150 United appearances under Sir Alex, that was the comment which marked the end.
But the former England striker also feels that respect goes both ways and must be earned through performances, something Ronaldo has not done this season.
Sheringham certainly earned his respect in United’s famous Treble-winning season in 1999.
He came off the bench against Bayern Munich, equalising at the end before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s stunning winner to life the Champions League.
But after notching 18 Prem goals last season, Ronaldo has just one this term, in a 2-1 win at Everton, plus two goals in the Europa League against Sheriff Tiraspol.
Sheringham said: “The disrespect lines that he is coming out with that he doesn’t respect the manager, when he is coming out with that and openly saying that, it’s time for him to go.
“If you are still performing at the highest level then people respect you.
“If you’re doing things in and around the football club that you shouldn’t be, like walking off down the tunnel when you’re part of the team, that is when people lose their respect for you. It works hand-in-hand.”
An exit is the aim for Ronaldo after this near declaration of war on United.
While Ronaldo’s interview will have rocked Ten Hag and the Old Trafford chiefs, it gives them a clear way out of the mess and a chance to start planning for a future where they can never again be accused of being hung up on past glories.
*TEDDY SHERINGHAM will host the first of Budweiser’s official England Watch parties at The Outernet venue in London’s Tottenham Court Road for the Group B opener against Iran on Monday.

He hit out at Manchester United for “betraying” him and making him feel like a “black sheep” as well as blaming him for everything going wrong at the club.
The striker, 37, revealed he does not respect manager Erik ten Hag and blasted the club’s lack of progress since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013 – the last time they won the title.
And even though he looks increasingly unlikely to be there much longer, he thinks it will take at least three years before United can challenge at the top again.
During the interview, which airs on on Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm on TalkTV, said: “You have some things inside the club which don’t help Manchester reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal, for example. Which is complicated, it’s difficult.

He also slammed United’s controversial US owners the Glazer family — saying: “They don’t care about the club”.
He revealed he has never exchanged a single word with any of the family since his return to the club, despite being one of the world’s biggest soccer stars.
And he accused them of being more interested in United being a “marketing club” rather than a football club so they can pocket more cash.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner told Piers Morgan he believed the Glazers “don’t care” about the club and only see it as a cash cow.
He confirmed he had “never” spoken to the owners because they put the club in the hands of CEO Richard Arnold.
In one exchange Ronaldo said: “The owners of the club they, listen they don’t . . .”
    Piers: “The Glazers?”
Ronaldo: “The Glazers, they don’t — they don’t care about, about the club. I mean, professional sport.

“As you know this, Manchester is a marketing club. They will get its money from the marketing, the sport, it’s . . . they don’t really care, in my opinion.”
Asked: “Do you ever talk to them, the Glazers?”, Ronaldo replied “Never. No. They give all the power to the president, sport director.”

In an bombshell TalkTV interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo delivered a damning assessment of the Red Devils and revealed he has no respect for boss Erik ten Hag.
Ferdinand said: “You can’t defend that from Cristiano Ronaldo. I don’t feel there is any way back, I don’t feel the club will take him back and I don’t think he wants to come back.
“Deep down — and I know it for a fact — this has all been manufactured for one thing and that’s for him to leave the club.
“Up to this interview I would defend him and say the club have a big responsibility to communicate better. How are the club going to allow Ronaldo to come back and undermine their current manager? They can’t.”

Ferdinand, a former team-mate of Ronaldo, added: “The love affair with United is finished. The book has been closed.

“Whether anyone at the club wanted to keep Cristiano . . . they can’t now after what he said.

In today’s Sun, we also reveal his criticism of the Glazers for their controversial ownership.
The veteran star trained with Portugal yesterday ahead of the World Cup, despite missing United’s last two games through ‘illness’. But he is unlikely to ever wear a Red Devils shirt again as he faces being ditched by United while he’s away in Qatar.
Furious boss Ten Hag met yesterday with Old Trafford chiefs and the club are now exploring their legal options.
United believe Ronaldo is undermining the progress being made under their new Dutch boss and the togetherness he has fostered in the camp.
Several of his team-mates are also finished with the 37-year-old after his latest outburst.
A club statement alluded to the spirit Ten Hag is creating and not wanting anything to divert them from their bid to get back to the top of the English game.
It read: “Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans.”
If Ronaldo is released by United, there will be a few clubs considering signing him on a free transfer.
His first club Sporting Lisbon are keen, while Chelsea owner Todd Boehly may reignite his interest from the summer. MLS clubs are also keeping tabs. More

Jesse Lingard opens up on his battle with depression at Man Utd and reveals he drank to take away the pain

But there was a point at United where he hit rock bottom with fan abuse leaving him not wanting to play.
How big a pay cheque is, or what car they drive, what watch or clothes they wear is often used to dismiss the simple fact that footballer’s are human too.
Speaking in The Jesse Lingard Story, which airs on Tuesday on Channel 4, the now Nottingham Forest ace said: “I just felt so much scrutiny, especially after the Derby game and I was getting abuse as I got on the bus.
“I can normally take it but sometimes it gets to a point where it’s like: ‘Ahh, I can’t even be arsed doing this any more.’

“It was difficult around that moment in time. It was probably [for] months.
“I didn’t want to play in case I did badly and there was more scrutiny. Football is my happy place but at that time, I couldn’t really put myself in that situation.

“I was playing and I felt like I was nonexistent. The games were just passing me by.
“When it’s not working out on the pitch, you try to work that bit harder to do well in the next match but my mind wasn’t there to do that.
“I wanted to stop completely and have a break and just be at home. I didn’t want to be on the pitch and have all that scrutiny. You lose a ball and it’s more pressure.”
Lingard resorted to drinking and going into “autopilot” mode to “take the pain away”.
The England international said he resorted to drinking as he felt no-one cared and that he didn’t have “anyone to bounce off or feed off”.
There’s a scene in the upcoming doc where brother Louie videoed Lingard spaced out on the sofa, completely still and his eyes blank.
It wasn’t drinking to excess. It was just little bits through the week and stuff like that. I look back and think: ‘What was I doing?’Jesse Lingard
On that, Lingard said: “Just autopilot.
“Coming home, lying on the sofa and staring. When I look at that now, I don’t know what was in my mind but it must have been racing.
“Literally, I just wanted to sit at home and drink a little bit – try and take the pain away. I don’t do that, normally.
“I’m not really a big drinker. Of course, here and there on nights out, whatever. But sitting at home and drinking before bed … that’s when I knew I was in a bad situation.
“It wasn’t drinking to excess. It was just little bits through the week and stuff like that. I look back and think: ‘What was I doing?’
“It was probably just to be in a mind frame where I’ve got no pain, no cares. Because I didn’t have anyone to bounce off or feed off, I resorted to that.”
Lingard also struggled to deal with his mum’s depression and was forced to seek help from United doctors.
His mum’s struggles with mental health took a toll on him both on and off the pitch.
Lockdown gave Lingard a much-needed chance to take a look at himself and “reignite that fire in my belly”.
And lockdown Lingard, on loan at West Ham, was arguably the best version of the midfielder the Premier League has seen.
He continued: “If lockdown didn’t happen, I don’t know what situation I’d be in because I needed that rest to really look at myself again, to reignite that fire in my belly and work out what was wrong with me.
“It was a turning point. I watched those videos and thought: ‘I should never doubt myself.’
“I started training every day, going for runs and making sure that I was one of the fittest going back to United after lockdown.”
He scored nine and assisted four in 16 league games with the Hammers, earning an England recall before Euro 2020.
Sadly, Lingard just missed out on a tournament which saw England reach their first final since the 1966 World Cup win.
Lingard then returned to United, hoping to play his way into first-team contention – but that didn’t happen.
And in the summer, instead of returning to West Ham, he joined Forest on a free transfer.
