Despite having five Ballon d’Ors to his name there has been a distinct lack of Europe’s elite teams interested in signing the 37-year-old.
Although there are still plenty of clubs that could benefit from having a player of his caliber join their ranks.
    Al-Nassr
The team second in the Saudi Pro League have reportedly offered Ronaldo a stunning £173million-a-year deal.
However the forward is yet to agree on the record-breaking contract with the Saudi club as he is thought to want to stay in a more competitive league.

Another option that has a bit of weight behind it would be a return to the club where he became the best in the world.
Ronaldo is currently training with Madrid after Portugal were knocked out of the World Cup in Qatar.
Although he will have to really impress Carlo Ancelotti as it seems the club are not in favour of handing him a contract.
    Newcastle United
While everything is going well for the Magpies, the new Saudi ownership could be tempted in signing Ronaldo in order to add some glitz to the squad.

The forward would bring in a large amount of revenue through shirt sales and could lift the profile of the club.
    LA Galaxy
Ronaldo has been often linked with a swap to the MLS and LA Galaxy could be one of the clubs keen on bringing him to the United States.
Galaxy are used to having big names at the club such as David Beckham and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo could be the next one.
    Sporting Lisbon
A club that could offer Ronaldo a return to Champions League football and be familiar would be his boyhood club Sporting Lisbon.
While the Portuguese side would not be able to offer him vast amounts of wages, it could be his chance to play at the highest level of football in Europe again. More

The 39-capped international has been linked with a move to England for years, with clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United both credited with an interest in him.
But it seems that Arsenal are now his most likely destination with the Metro suggesting that Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to win the race for him.
The Gunners tried to sign the midfielder in the summer but their bid of £42million rejected.
Lazio’s club president Claudio Lotito has been vocal about his wish to keep Milinkovic-Savic at the club and has been consistent about saying how highly valued he is at the Rome club.

He recently claimed that the player is worth £105million after he was asked if Juventus had agreed to a transfer for him.
He said: “‘I have no agreement with his agent [Mateja] Kezman to sell him to Juventus of anyone else in the winter.
“On the contrary, he is now worth €120m [£105m], not €100m [£88m]. Every month the price goes up.”
However, the player’s contract expires at the end of the 2023/24 season and he would then be free to walk away for nothing.

It is thought that the price for Milinkovic-Savic has dropped as it has become clear that he will not renew his deal at the Stadio Olympico.
Reports have suggested that the Serie A side would sell him for £69m in January and for as low as £34m in the summer.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for Lazio since joining the club in 2015.
He has helped them win the Coppa Italia and has been named the club’s player of the season for the last two campaigns. More

The 31-year-old has played every minute in the Premier League since Erik ten Hag arrived and has shown some fine form to help the Red Devils recover from a dreadful start.
But the Dutchman was recently unable to confirm whether De Gea will sign a contract extension.
His current deal expires at the end of the season.
Ten Hag said: “And, as a person, I like him, I can really cooperate with him really well but first we go to the winter and then we will talk about how deal with such situations.

“In this moment we only think about performing, we have a lot of games to go, so I don’t want to get that interfered by talks.”
As a result, Portuguese outlet A Bola claim United are still interested in Costa.
The 23-year-old has kept nine clean sheets in 19 games for Porto this season and was rewarded with the No1 shirt for Portugal at the World Cup.
Costa ended up playing every minute to help his nation reach the quarter-finals, although he was partly at fault for Youssef En-Nesyri’s goal in the defeat to Morocco.

Regardless, United still hold a firm interest in signing him for next season.

Man Utd ‘make contact over Denzel Dumfries transfer’ with Erik ten Hag keen to land Inter Milan’s World Cup star

PSV Eindhoven’s £60m-rated attacker Cody Gakpo, 23, is one of his top transfer targets.
And his three goals at the World Cup for Holland have proven that he can do it on the big stage.
Ten Hag has been promised massive funds to rebuild United  – despite plans by the Glazers to sell the Red Devils – and it now appears his forward line is not the only thing he wants to bolster.
Corriere dello Sport are claiming that he has “directly” requested that the club target fight-back Dumfries.

The 26-year-old ace shone for the Netherlands at the World Cup and has impressed at the San Siro since his arrival from PSV in 2021.
Ten Hag has used Diogo Dalot in the full-back position this term and likes the Portuguese man.
However, it is stated that he wants extra competition after failing to be convinced by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The report states that “he knows perfectly the characteristics”.

And even though he likes Dalot, Ten Hag wants someone different who is “more physical, more offensive, more inclined to score”.
Dumfries would not come cheaply, with the report also claiming that Inter would be looking for at least £43 million for the defender.
But that does not appear to be deterring United, who have allegedly already held talks with the player’s agent over a potential switch. More

Not that the manager would ever suggest he wants to see the backs of his employers.
His happiness this Christmas will be about being certain he can barge back into the market in January — and keep buying beyond next month.
Ten Hag is confident controlling owners Joel and Avram Glazer will continue to stand by what they said as they made him the Man Utd boss.
But there could be even more cash to splash.

And whether the Glazers get the £6-9BILLION they want to sell out or simply bring in major new investment, it will be win-win for Ten Hag.
The Dutchman said: “I don’t speak to them that often. But I’ve met them and we spoke about how we will work together and how we are going to achieve our objectives.”
His No 1 objective is to end United’s Premier League title drought that stretches back to 2013.
Having spent almost £230million after arriving in July, Ten Hag knows there is still a chasm between United and the “noisy neighbours” at the Etihad.

Then there is a clutch of others such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and the growing force of Newcastle.
Ten Hag said: “I look at the competition around the Premier League, they all have the opportunity to invest. It’s a tough competition between seven or eight clubs.
“That’s a change in circumstances when you compare with five or ten years ago, so the competition is much tougher.
“Newcastle are coming, even West Ham. They have huge investment.
“Spurs definitely and then City and Liverpool. I don’t need to talk about them. Chelsea, I don’t need to talk about them.
“Quickly count seven or eight clubs that can compete in the league. Even at the bottom I don’t see weak teams — they’re all strong. It’s also about strategy, not just money.”
Global giants Amazon are considering buying the club, while Apple could take a bite out of the Theatre of Dreams.
Oldham-born chemicals magnate Sir Jim Ratcliffe — a lifelong United fan and worth a staggering £11bn — is also interested following a vain late bid to beat Todd Boehly to his £4.25bn capture of Chelsea.

Any sale or investment at United is being overseen by The Raine Group, who conducted the Stamford Bridge business.
Ten Hag was assured the Glazers would keep their word by him when CEO Richard Arnold informed the ex-Ajax coach of their decision last month to “explore strategic alternatives to enhance the club’s growth”. More

The residential flats are due to go up on land Ronaldo owns at Praia Formosa, near to the seven-storey building which forms part of his property empire where his mum Dolores Aveiro and older brother Hugo live.
The complex, consisting of 88 apartments, will be called Pestana Residences CR7. Construction work is expected to start around May next year.
Dionosio Pestana, president of the Pestana Hotel Group which already operates five CR7 branded hotels as part of a partnership with Ronaldo, revealed the plans during an interview with a Portuguese business paper.
If the Praia Formosa project proves a success, more apartment complexes are expected to be rolled out in Madeira and mainland Portugal.

Mr Pestana told Jornal de Negocios he did not rule out an expansion beyond Portugal but added: “At the moment we’re focused on mainland Portugal and Madeira although we’ve also developed a project in the Azores.
“At the moment we’re going to begin with this one in Praia Formosa, see what the result is and gauge the impact.”
Ronaldo teamed up with Pestana six years ago but their partnership had, until now, been focused solely on hotels.
Before investing in the hotel sector, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner launched a range of lifestyle products under the CR7 brand.

He also has several hair clinics including one in the Spanish east coast city of Valencia and two in Porto.
When Insparya – founded by Ronaldo’s business partner and company CEO Paulo Ramos – opened in Valencia in March, bold claims were made about plans for “world dominance.”
Mr Ramos said at the time: “The Valencia opening is an important landmark for our leadership in Spain and a further step towards our commitment to international expansion and world leadership in the medical hair industry.
“This clinic is entirely designed and built from scratch by Insparya architects and we are very proud of how the result will be.”
The clinic was opened a few weeks after Cristiano’s sister Elma Aveiro announced the closure of the Madeira clothes store named after the former Man United striker.
The mum-of-one admitted it was a difficult decision to take after running the shop in the island capital Funchal where she is based for 15 years.
Elma, one of Cristiano’s three siblings, suggested the decision was linked to her busy schedule – although the store is not the first the footballer’s family have closed in recent years.
Last year, they closed a restaurant in Madeira and the CR7 clothes store in Vilamoura on the Algarve shut its doors in 2020 following below-expected sales – leaving the one in Madeira the only CR7 store that was left.
Ronaldo had another store in Lisbon’s Park of the Nations neighbourhood which also closed several years ago.
The soccer star’s business interests outside of the game also include gyms.
While his money-making ventures off the pitch show no sign of dipping, his footballing future is clouded by uncertainty.

Ronaldo has never been shy in revealing his fondness for Real and would no doubt happily return.
Yet, despite president Florentino Perez’s kind words down the years, it’s believed the club have shut the door to a potential return as they don’t want to disrupt Carlo Ancelotti’s current squad.
Following his time in Spain, Ronaldo moved to Juventus – where he lasted just three years – before heading back to Old Trafford.
However, his 15-month stay at United were littered in controversy before his exit last month.
Since leaving Man Utd, Ronaldo has been linked with a mega-money move to Al Nassr.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo is NOT expected to retire from international duty after Portugal’s World Cup heartache.
The ex-Sporting Lisbon star was spotted in tears in the tunnel following the gut-wrenching defeat to Morocco.
