The fee for the transfer was agreed on Wednesday morning and is understood to be worth £2.6million.
Barca also say the deal includes a “preferential but not compulsory purchase option” for them to sign Atleti winger Yannick Carrasco.
Depay was given permission by Barcelona to miss training on Wednesday in order to complete the transfer.
And the ace was also allowed to join in Atletico’s training session yesterday.

He has signed a two and half year deal at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
The Dutchman joined Barcelona on a free transfer in 2021 after allowing his contract at Ligue 1 side Lyon to expire.
Despite initially being the club’s starting striker, the acquisitions of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Robert Lewandowski soon saw him fall down the pecking order.
Following Aubameyang’s transfer to Chelsea on deadline day in the summer window, Depay’s game time has remained limited – partly owing to a thigh issue which saw him miss 12 games.

But now, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Depay has left behind the cash-strapped Camp Nou in a cut-price deal.
He scored 14 times in 42 appearances for the club.
There was some reported interest in a transfer from the Premier League, with the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle and former club Manchester United all considering a move.
However, with Felix’s move away from Madrid, Diego Simeone pressed the club to sign Depay from the La Liga leaders.
Yannick Carrasco’s agent, Pini Zahavi, revealed there were talks for the Belgian to move in the opposite direction.
And following Barcelona’s “optional purchase” announcement, it remains to be seen whether the Belgian ends up at the Nou Camp before deadline day. More

‘The deal was done’ – Jesse Lingard reveals he was ‘p***ed’ when Man Utd blocked his Newcastle transfer at last minute

JESSE LINGARD has admitted he was “p***ed” off when Manchester United blocked a January loan move to Newcastle last January. The 30-year-old decided to try and force his way into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans last term after a successful six-month loan spell at West Ham.

However, Lingard found game time hard to come by under the Red Devils icon, as well as interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
Come January 2022, Lingard had made only a handful of starts and began to grow frustrated with his contract due to expire in June.
And in a bid to get back on the football pitch, a loan move in January to then Premier League strugglers Newcastle was agreed.
But United decided to pull the plug on the move with their squad being too small – a decision that “p***ed” off Lingard.

Lingard told the Diary of a CEO podcast: “I wanted to go on loan again in January because I wasn’t playing again.
“Newcastle was on the cards in January. The deal was done – everything – but the United squad was not big enough.
“A couple of players went out on loan and when it came to me, [football director] John Murtough rang me and was like, ‘No, you’re not going on loan.’
“I was like, ‘He’s on loan. Let me go and enjoy my football. I’m not playing here so let me go on loan. I want to play football.’

“He was like, ‘What do you want? Days off?’ I said, ‘No. I want to go play football.’ They stopped the loan so I was p***ed.”
Lingard left boyhood club Man Utd in the summer without a proper sendoff, and a summer of transfer speculation followed.
There were talks of a move to the MLS, as well as a return to the London Stadium, where he played his best football to date.
However, Lingard decided to join Nottingham Forest on a one-year deal.
The England international is yet to score or assist in the Prem, though.
Once retired, Lingard says he’d like to move into acting – which could be a hint as to where he moves next. More

And United boss Ten Hag is keen to add the £200,000-a-week star to his squad, reports Caught Offside.
He has held talks with Reus’ agent Dirk Hebel and is believed to be a fan of the 33-year-old.
Hebel and fellow representative Darren Freeman watched the Red Devils beat neighbours Manchester City 2-1 from the Old Trafford stands.
Hebel has reportedly held talks with City, who were put off by Reus’ age, before travelling to London to potentially pursue transfer options in the capital.

He made his senior debut for the club earlier this month, coming on a substitute during the 3-0 League Cup quarter-final win over Charlton.
Pellistri, 21, set up a goal for Marcus Rashford against the Addicks.
But it seems he hasn’t done enough to force his way into boss Erik ten Hag’s plans for the rest of the season.
According to Brazilian newspaper O Jogo, Flamengo are in talks to sign Pellistri on loan for the remainder of the year.

They claim that the South American giants are willing to pay Pellistri’s wages in full for the duration of the loan.

Man Utd ‘confident’ Alejandro Garnacho will sign new deal ‘very soon’ amid Real Madrid and Juventus transfer interest

MANCHESTER UNITED are allegedly “confident” that Alejandro Garnacho will sign a contract extension “very soon” despite interest from Europe’s big guns. The 18-year-old Argentine winger has been enjoying a breakout season at Old Trafford with two goals and five assists in 16 appearances across all competitions.
Man Utd are closing in on securing the long-term future of Alejandro GarnachoCredit: Getty
Garnacho is currently believed to be on around £7,000 per week.
That makes him the second lowest paid senior player at the club with only Anthony Elanga below him on £5,500-a-week.
We reported this week that he had snubbed a new deal worth £20,000-a-week.
That led to both Juventus and Real Madrid stepping up their pursuit of the teenage ace.
    READ MORE ON MAN UTD
Atletico Madrid are also keen on snapping up Garnacho from the Red Devils.
We then reported how United had upped their offer and were “close to” agreeing terms with him and his representatives as they looked to secure his future.
Now a fresh update from FootballTransfers states that Garnacho is on the verge of penning a package worth north of £30,000 per week.
That would be on a six-and-a-half year deal with the option of a further 12 months which includes bonuses for goals and other performance-related feats.

And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport: “Now, the conversations are very positive, so Manchester United are relaxed on the Garnacho situation.
“They feel they will have the chance to extend his contract very, very soon.”
Garnacho was a product of Atletico’s youth system after arriving from Getafe in 2015 and playing for the academy set-up until two and a half years ago.
They let him join United for £420,000 fee in 2020 and he has since risen through the ranks into Erik ten Hag’s first-team squad. More

Declan Rice is guaranteed to leave West Ham… and Arsenal and Man Utd are his most logical transfer destinations

DECLAN RICE has a massive decision to make this summer — and it does not involve  staying at West Ham.Every team in Europe is keen to sign the future England captain at the end of the season, although very few can afford him.
Manchester United and Arsenal both want to sign Declan Rice this summerCredit: Rex
But even the handful of clubs who can meet the Hammers’ demands will present a dilemma for Rice as he  considers all his options.
Because how do you choose when you have got Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester City all queueing at your door?
The fact that West Ham still have an option to extend his contract to 2025 is immaterial.
Whether they stay in the Premier League or not, they know their best player is leaving. Rice virtually confirmed that last month when he said that he is  desperate to play in the Champions League.
    READ MORE TRANSFER NEWS
Because that ain’t going to happen at West Ham any time in the foreseeable future.
That’s why he has already rejected an offer of a new EIGHT-YEAR contract from the club who would happily make him their highest paid player in the blink of an eye.
There are about a dozen players at the London Stadium currently earning more than Rice, including left-back Emerson Palmieri, Ivory Coast winger Max Cornet and reserve keeper Alphonse Areola.
But that’s often the case with players who have graduated through the academy rather than signing on big money from another club.
    Most read in Football
HOW TO GET FREE BETS ON FOOTBALL
Yet it’s not about the money for Rice. It’s about competing at the very highest level and squeezing every last drop from his career.
He will have seen how his 29-year-old England team-mate Harry Kane — who signed for Tottenham way back in 2011 — is still waiting to win his first major trophy at the club after committing himself to a lucrative long-term contract five years ago.
And he is not going to make the same mistake with West Ham.
He will also have noted how his pal Jack Grealish, 27, gave up being a big fish in a small pond at Aston Villa to win the Premier League in his very first season with Manchester City.
So now it is simply a question of which club can offer him the best opportunity to maximise his talent  during the peak years of his career.
Having just turned 24, he has the potential to become one of the best defensive midfield players in the world over the next decade.
It was only last April that David Moyes said that West Ham would not consider selling their captain for less than £150million.
But now the consensus is that he could go for little more than half that amount, particularly if the Hammers are relegated to the Championship.
Yet with so many serious clubs  wanting his services, there’s plenty of potential for a bidding war taking that fee to British record levels.
Chelsea, despite having released Rice from their academy at 14, would have no shame in breaking the bank to bring him back.
But, like Liverpool, there’s every chance that they won’t be able to offer him Champions League football next season, even though the two are the last English clubs to win it.
City only play with one holding midfielder and already have Rodri and Kalvin Phillips on their books.
Newcastle are clearly an emerging force and have the resources to outbid anyone if they can secure a top-four finish this season.
But it’s Arsenal or Erik ten Hag’s United who offer the most logical career path for Rice and, with both clubs apparently on the up, it could be a straight shootout between the resurgent giants this summer.
Either way, West Ham fans should make the most of their best player while they still can.
    UTD MAY SMELL RAT
MANCHESTER UNITED fans are understandably excited by the news that ‘Britain’s richest man’ is trying to buy the club from the Glazers.
The fact that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been living abroad as a tax exile is not going to curb their enthusiasm.
Yet financial experts have calculated his personal fortune at £6billion — and the Glazers want at least £5bn.
That does not leave a lot of spare cash for someone who clearly hates the idea of frittering his money on such avoidable expenses as income tax.
And after he lost out in the bidding for Chelsea last spring, United should not hold their breath waiting for the takeover.
    GONE POTTY
CHELSEA manager Graham Potter says they cannot keep trying to spend their way out of trouble or else they will end up with a 30-man squad.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Graham, but the matchday programme for last week’s game against Crystal Palace already listed 33 Blues players.
And that did not even include the club’s £88million new-boy Mykhailo Mudryk.
Potter joked he hopes he is still in a job when Mudryk’s remarkable new contract finally expires in 8½ years.
Good luck with that. Me? I just hope I am still alive in 2031.
    REFFING MAD
BRITAIN’S top referees have been tying themselves in knots trying to justify Manchester United’s equaliser against neighbours City last week.
But they’re defending the indefensible because anyone who knows anything about football could see Marcus Rashford was offside and the goal should never have stood.
And if the laws of the game say differently because he wasn’t interfering with play, then the law is an ass.
    RAMS-FAIL
SPURS are threatening to issue a lifetime ban to the supporter who kicked Aaron Ramsdale during Sunday’s 2-0 home defeat by Arsenal.
More than 500 season ticket holders have already claimed responsibility.
    BLATT TO THE FUTURE
FIFA have claimed five billion people ‘engaged’ with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
    What does that even mean?
But then very little coming out of world football’s governing body makes sense any more.
According to reports, TV companies covering the winter finals were ordered to show at least one shot of Fifa president Gianni Infantino at every match.
But they weren’t allowed to film him on his phone, nor below knee height when he was sitting next to any of his dodgy dictator mates in the plush stadiums out in the desert.
Come back Sepp Blatter, all is (almost) forgiven.
    GARETH FAIL
A MOVE to rename the Severn Bridge the Gareth Bale Bridge has been KO’d by a House of Lords committee.
Presumably they were worried the bridge — which connects England and Wales — would be out of action for nine months every year.
    EMMA’S MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
TENNIS star Emma Raducanu has defended her commitment to the sport by declaring: “I give 200 per cent in everything I do.”
That probably explains why the British ace, 20, has suffered so many injuries — she’s been trying to do the impossible.
    KAM OFF IT
ICE skater Kamila Valieva has been cleared by the Russian anti-doping agency — despite her positive test before last year’s Winter Olympics.

“I was still trying to be Jesse — with banter and jokes and all that — but, of course, it’s going to affect me. I felt the world was on my shoulders.”
Lingard’s issues meant he struggled to care for brother Jasper and sister Daisy-Boo while his mum Kirsty sought treatment.
Speaking to The Diary Of A CEO podcast, Lingard said: “The depression was so bad she couldn’t cope and needed to get help.
“But leaving me with my sister, who was 11, and brother, who was 15, for me, I was going through my own things as well.

“So I wasn’t really the big brother they wanted.

He boasts 32 England caps and was a key man as the Three Lions made the last four at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
But as things started to unravel he turned to then Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He said: “I thought I could handle it but it came to a point when I went to Ole and said, ‘This is what’s going on’.
“We kept it close-knit but even just to have Ole say, ‘How is your mum? How is she doing?’
“Just to have those conversations helped.”

The team ended up on 58 points under successor Ralf Rangnick — their lowest total in Premier League history.
But Ten Hag came in last summer and has made them title hopefuls again.
Midfielder Fernandes, who scored in Wednesday’s 1-1 at Crystal Palace, said: “The last two seasons were difficult and players’ confidence really low, and I think that’s why results weren’t coming.

“They’re doing what they have to do and what the manager’s asked us to do and we must carry on with that, it’s a responsibility.”
The midweek draw was a blow to United’s title tilt as it leaves them eight points off leaders Arsenal, having played a game more.
They can cut it to five points with a win at the Emirates on Sunday but Fernandes says they are just taking it a game at a time after the Eagles’ late leveller.
The Portugal star, 28, added: “We can’t be affected by a result that was not the way we would like it to be as we’re doing great things.
