Ahead of Rotherham, manager Heckingbottom expressed his delight that Berge stayed put.
He said: “There was interest and bids and I know they (Berge and Ndiaye) could have been sold, but they weren’t.
“I said all along at Wrexham that Sander wasn’t there because there was speculation.
‘I was still hopeful he wouldn’t go. I didn’t want him to go and Sander is comfortable.

A fifth minute own-goal by Joel Matip handed Wolves a lead.
January signing Craig Dawson then got in on the act seven minutes later, firing home on his debut.
Neves added a third, and the final nail in Liverpool’s coffin – but the midfielder decided to send a message to Man Utd ace Rashford while celebrating.
Neves ran towards the corner pointing at his temple – a celebration Rashford has regularly used this season – before being mobbed by his team-mates.

The Portugal international turned to the crowd again pointing to his temple and his chest, to let everybody know that he was the first person to do the goal celebration in 2018 before the Man Utd and England star.
Wolves shared an image on Twitter of Neves and wrote: “Nobody does it better.”
No one knows entirely for sure why Rashford points to his head.
However, popular opinion believes by pointing to his mind – Rashford is highlighting mental health.

The free school dinners hero has been open about his battles mentally – admitting it hindered him during the 2021-22 season.
He told Sky Sports after scoring against West Ham in October: “I was struggling at times with more mental things.
“It wasn’t really my own performance but other things off the pitch. That’s the biggest difference from last season.
“Too often last season, I wasn’t in the right headspace for games. I wasn’t surprised by some of the stuff that was happening.”
Another theory is Rashford has regularly suffered with the noise and pressure leading the line at Old Trafford.
Closing his eyes while pointing to his head could also be about shutting out external distractions and unwanted criticism.
This allows him to do what he does best; score goals.
Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves also can lay claim to being a pioneer with this in the Championship in a 2018 game More

Watch Cristiano Ronaldo miss absolute sitter for Al-Nassr before ex-Man Utd star scores injury-time penalty equaliser

CRISTIANO RONALDO missed an absolute sitter for Al-Nassr – before redeeming himself with a late equalising penalty. The former Manchester United star, who turns 38 today, has been pursuing a career in Saudi Arabia after the bitter ending to his time at Old Trafford.

He’s been in search of his first goal in a competitive match for the club after netting in the entertaining friendly against Lionel Messi and PSG.
Ronaldo could have claimed that goal in the first-half, with Al-Nassr already 1-0 down to Al Fateh in the Saudi Pro League.
Brilliant ball control by the in-form Talisca saw the attacking midfielder bring the ball down in the box and unleash a shot.
Al Fateh’s Jacob Rinne produced a great save to push the effort onto the post, before the ball broke perfectly to Ronaldo.

With the goal gaping, the ex-Real Madrid star ran onto the ball from eight yards out and smacked it with his right boot.
But the unbalanced forward incredibly put the shot well over the bar.
He can then be seen staring up at the sky in frustration and disbelief.
Talisca would spare Ronaldo’s blushes by equalising before half-time before Al-Fateh took the lead again in the second half.

With defeat staring Ronaldo in the face, Al-Nassr won a late penalty and the forward this time kept his composure and found the net.
It was his first goal on his third attempt in a competitive Saudi Arabian game as one of football’s greatest ever players attempted to re-find their scoring touch.
Banished to the bench for most of the season under Erik ten Hag, Ronaldo only managed one Premier League goal this term for Man United with a milestone strike.
But he demonstrated just last season that he is still capable of being a threat in the box as he struck 24 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils. More

If Bayern Munich come calling for Harry Kane this summer, he should go to win some trophies, says former Liverpool star

FORMER Liverpool and Tottenham star Danny Murphy has called on Harry Kane to quit Spurs this summer for Bayern Munich. The striker has been one of the most prolific in Europe for many years but is yet to win a trophy in his senior career.
Several years of high-level performances has made Harry Kane a man in demandCredit: Reuters
Several reports have linked him with a move to the Allianz Arena but Kane has stayed put – and is now closing in on the all-time outright Spurs scoring record.
But Murphy believes he must jump ship at the end of the season if given the chance.
The pundit told the Mail: “If Bayern Munich come calling for Harry Kane this summer, he should go. It would be hugely sad if a player of his quality finished without winning a trophy. It’s something he himself would regret after retirement.
“When I reflect on my career, the best memories are those at Liverpool winning something; the joy at the final whistle, celebrating with team-mates and supporters, the parties and parades afterwards.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
“That is what you work so hard for and unfortunately Spurs are no nearer giving Kane what he deserves as a world-class striker.
“He turns 30 this summer, it’s getting to that now-or-never stage but it shows how good his form is that one of the biggest clubs in Europe are still interested.”
Kane has been in fantastic form this season and finds himself only behind Erling Haaland in the Premier League scoring charts.
The England international has found the net 16 times compared to Haaland’s 25 goals.

And it is not only Bayern who are believed to want him with reports signalling that Manchester United may also weigh up a summer move.
However Murphy believes Germany is the best option for the Spurs man.
He added: “I’m sure Kane would get other offers. Manchester United have been mentioned but he hasn’t got time to be part of a team that is building.
“If he was going to leave Spurs, it would be primarily to win trophies from the get-go which would make Bayern his best option.”
Kane has regularly hit 20 goals or more since breaking on to the scene in the 2014-15 season.
And with his contract up at the end of next season, chairman Daniel Levy and the Spurs hierarchy will be desperate to not lose him for free.
Kane had previously appeared to be heading towards the exit door in the summer of 2021 as a dispute broke out over a “gentleman’s agreement” he had with the club.
But he stayed put and today could pass Greave’s goal record if he scores against Manchester City. More

The centre back has started only four league games this season, with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane the manager’s first choice partnership.
Yet Ten Hag told Maguire this week that he will have lots of openings over the second half of the season, as United chase silverware on four fronts.
The Dutchman has been impressed by Maguire’s attitude in training and how he has reacted to losing his place in recent weeks.
And Ten Hag has reassured him that United’s hectic fixture schedule in the second half of the season will offer more opportunities to play.

They already face playing eight games this month, with the prospect of a hectic March schedule to come if they win their Europa League play-off against Barcelona.
Inter were just one of a host of clubs to inquire about Maguire, who started all five of England’s fixtures in Qatar, but has kicked off just three of United’s since the World Cup.
The £85million ex-Leicester star came on for the final minutes as ten-man United held on to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at home on Saturday.
Ten Hag shored up his backline as the Eagles poured forward late on following a red card for Red Devils’ midfielder Casemiro.

But Maguire and Co kept them out as United went third.
Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot will be offered a treble-your-money deal to keep him at Old Trafford for another five years.
Dalot, 23, is keen to stay but is one of the lowest-paid members of the squad, on around £30,000 a week.
There have been further talks on increased terms over the past week, and United are confident he will commit until 2028, on £85,000 plus bonuses. More

The result of the red card will see Casemiro miss United’s next three domestic games, which come against Leeds (home and away) and Leicester City.
However, United fans are now hoping that the suspension can be overturned after fan footage showed a different side of the altercation.
The footage shows Casemiro and Hughes laughing off the incident after the scuffle between the two sides ends.
And with the reaction of the two, fans are convinced that there was less violent conduct involved.

One tweeted: “I think it gets turned if United appeals it.”
A second wrote: “Bloody hell. Casemiro and Hughes are laughing about it.”
A third commented: “This must be the first case where a player has been sent off for violent conduct and the player ‘assaulted’ doesn’t react and then hugs his attacker.”

A fifth added: “Without knowing, if someone showed you this and told you one of the players involved gets a straight red and three-game ban, you’re not guessing Casemiro.
“The slowed-down angle used by VAR admittedly looked far worse, but from this angle it’s almost laughable.”
After the game, manager Erik ten Hag slammed Marriner for his lack of inconsistency in the match as he did not show Jordan Ayew a red card for a similar offence.
He said: “The player from Crystal Palace takes a big risk by this foul – that he get badly injured – by pushing him over the line.
“Everyone is reacting, Crystal Palace players and Man United players, and not only Casemiro.
“There was one of the players, he did even worse than Casemiro.
    “You have to be consistent.”
The red card did make the game harder for United as their two-goal lead was halved, but thy held on for the win. More

United’s improvements under Ten Hag have been built on his ruthlessness both on and off the pitch.

Harry Maguire could be the first out the door having fallen behind both Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez in the pecking order.
The United captain was linked with a move away from the club in January and hasn’t been able to show his best form for some time.
