Chelsea, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a move for him.
According to Get Football News Germany, a bid in excess of £88m would secure his services – less than the £100m being mooted for fellow Man Utd target Harry Kane.
He has a contract with Frankfurt until 2027.
The Bundesliga side are wanting to reinvest in their squad as they fear Daichi Kamada, Evan Ndicka, Tuta, Jesper Lindstrom and Djibril Sow could all leave at the end of the season.

Man Utd target Victor Osimhen at centre of investigation into Napoli after joining in bizarre swap transfer

NAPLES hosts its first senior Italy international for ten years when England visit for a Euro 2024 qualifier on Thursday. But Estadio Diego Armando Maradona’s atmosphere will be nothing compared to a few weeks’ time if Napoli win a first Serie A title since 1990.

But their acquisition of the Nigeria international is set to be investigatedCredit: REX
Napoli are 19 points clear but there are nerves off the pitch over star Victor Osimhen .
It is no surprise that both Chelsea and Manchester United want to sign the Nigerian, 24, who has 25 goals this term.
There is concern the move which brought Osimhen from Lille in a £70.1million deal in 2020 could give the club a major problem.
Juventus suffered a 15-point penalty for false accounting to inflate player transfer values and falsify FFP.

It looks as though Napoli may have done something similar. The Naples Public Prosecutor’s Office has asked for a six-month extension to an investigation into the transfer and will make a decision in the summer.
And it is because £17.5m of that Osimhen transfer was made up of four players who went the other way to Lille.
These were keeper Orestis Karnezis and three youth-team players, Luigi Liguori, Claudio Manzi and Ciro Palmieri.
None of those four players, including Karnezis, who was 35 at the time, ever played for Lille.

Some of them have never been to the French city as their deals were soon cancelled and the younger players are in non-league.
It seems obvious that the actual deal was about Osimhen and a way of spending money on young players which are not included in FFP rules.
Napoli could be in trouble. But by the time they are dealt with, Osimhen may be in the Premier League.
The Nigerian recently aid of his future at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium: “When you are doing so well, top clubs around the world are watching, mostly in the top five leagues.
“And to be able to be attract interest from these top clubs shows that I am doing great and it gives me the motivation to do even more for myself and my team.
“But I am focused on Napoli right now and they have the final say. I just want to help my team to win matches and win trophies.
“At the end of the season, we will see what is going to happen, but that is not up to me. It is for the club to decide.”

TOTTENHAM’S superb training-ground complex is now the official London home of the England senior team.
While the squad met up at St George’s Park for tomorrow’s game against Italy, they will return to London to train — and also sleep — at Spurs’ practice facilities in Enfield.
England first used Spurs’ complex in 2017 as Arsenal, the previous hosts, were revamping their pitches at London Colney.
Gareth Southgate and his players still stayed at the Grove Hotel, near Watford, and commuted to Hotspur Way.
But these days the FA are hiring both the training pitches and the hotel accommodation.

Barcelona LOSE appeal to register wonderkid Gavi as first-team player putting Man Utd and Liverpool on transfer alert

BARCELONA’S second attempt to register wonderkid Gavi as a first-team player has been REJECTED in court. The Nou Camp giants had their original effort turned down by LaLiga back in January as the club were also banned from adding to their squad.

However, Mundo Deportivo is reporting that the club’s appeal against overturning the first-team registration of Gavi has been rejected.
Barcelona registered Gavi as a first-team player on January 31 after obtaining a precautionary measure from the court.
However, LaLiga filed an appeal against the same as they cited the fact that Xavi’s side had missed the deadline.
The court allegedly ruled in favour of the Spanish league earlier this month but no concrete verdict was reached as Gavi was allowed to continue as a first-team member.

But this fresh update states the financially troubled club appealed against the ruling last Wednesday but had their appeal rejected by the 10th Commercial Court of Barcelona.
That means that Gavi, who is a full Spanish international, will no longer be counted as a first-team member and must revert back to his youth contract until the end of the season.
And in what could be a huge boost for Manchester United, the attacker will also be deregistered for the next season as Barcelona have exceeded their salary limit.
As we reported previously, the Nou Camp club had thought the departures of Memphis Depay and Gerard Pique would allow them to register Gavi.

Gavi has been a key player for Barcelona this season
Barca have a negative balance, which is largely due to their Champions League exit in the group stages, and so LaLiga did not validate Gavi’s extension.
Barca will now have to significantly reduce their wage bill in summer, or find new sponsorships to register contracts.
We revealed how they could be set to unload some of their biggest stars as the troubled club look to raise £178m.
The Spanish giants face a summer of no incoming signings after wild spending left the club struggling to reign in their costs.
Player sales appear the most likely way to get the situation under control and Premier League clubs are among those who could be circling.
United and Liverpool have been joined by Bayern Munich in the race to sign Gavi.

But he is not the only one that could be going out the exit door.
Ex-Leeds star Raphinha, who only arrived at the Nou Camp a year ago, and fellow United target Frenkie de Jong are among 10 players who could also be sold to free up funds. More

Raya is preparing to enter the final 12 months of his contract, meaning Brentford may look to cash in on him at the end of the season.
And the ability he continues to show with his feet is something that makes him a perfect replacement for De Gea – who has been criticised for his passing.
Now Manchester Evening News have focused in on a particular passage of play from Raya during Brentford’s draw with Leicester.
This came when Harvey Barnes pressed the Spaniard as he came rushing out of his penalty area.

Raya casually dummied the Foxes forward and looked for a pass.
And when he did not see anything on, he then checked back and sold Barnes once more before releasing the ball down the line.
Raya’s technical ability is something Man Utd legend Gary Neville has spoken about in the past.
Neville believes the Brentford man could “step up” to a Big Six club after describing the role of Man Utd keeper as “the single most difficult position in English football”.

Raya’s stats show he is an accomplished keeper – particularly when playing the ball on the deck.
Compared with De Gea, he plays an average of 10 more passes per game.
And accurate long balls are another facet of Raya’s game – something unrivalled by the Man Utd shot-stopper.
Raya has registered 298 accurate long balls this season compared with 121 for De Gea.

But his manager Sir Alex was less than impressed with him and United striker Norman Whiteside’s drinking, which led to the offer of retirement.
McGrath told The Telegraph: “Sir Alex got me into the room and just said ‘we’d like you to stop playing football’.
“Simple as that. And he said they were willing to give me £100,000 to quit playing football altogether and just go back to Ireland.
“I was thinking about it because £100,000 back then was quite a lot of money.
