ALEJANDRO GARNACHO has reportedly handed Erik ten Hag a major blow concerning Manchester United’s bid for a cup double. The Argentina winger, 18, became an integral part of the Red Devils first-team this term before picking up an injury in the 0-0 draw with Southampton on March 12.

He has made 29 appearances and scored four goals so far this term and is now nearing a return to full fitness ahead of the run-in.
Garnacho’s comeback would provide a huge boost to Ten Hag’s United depleted squad as they look to tie up a top four finish and then lift the FA Cup to go along with their Carabao Cup triumph.
However, the teen could miss that Wembley showdown with Man City on June 3 at his OWN REQUEST.
According to Argentinian outlet Doble Amarilla, the starlet has asked Ten Hag to grant him leave in order to represent his country at the Under-20 World Cup.

The tournament starts in May in his home country and runs until June 11.
Garnacho has already been selected in the preliminary squad named by boss Javier Mascherano, who played for both Liverpool and Barcelona.
And that would rule him out of playing in the FA Cup derby clash.
The publication claims that Garnacho, who has never been capped at senior level despite several call-ups, has told Ten Hag: “I need to write my story with the Argentine shirt.

The Merseysiders have turned their attention on the midfielder after dropping out of the transfer bid for Borussia Dortmund superstar Jude Bellingham.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is prioritising a signing to boost his midfield amid a turbulent campaign.
And the England international is keen on moving to Anfield to reboot his Premier League career after a rough stint at the Etihad.
The 27-year-old joined City last summer following a £50m deal with Leeds.

However, Phillips underwent a shoulder operation in September which ruled him out until mid-season, when the 2022 World Cup kicked off.
The talented No6 still earned an international call-up by Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate and played twice in Qatar.
But Phillips still ended up being frozen out from City following a break in New York with friends.
Manager Pep Guardiola wasn’t satisfied with the player’s fitness levels upon his return.

Guardiola even criticised him publicly claiming he returned overweight from the World Cup.
The Spanish tactician then decided to banish him from training because he was out of shape.

The midfielder tweeted: “AWB is ridiculously good at 1 v 1 defending. Probably the best in the world bar none. So many wingers run out of ideas when playing directly against him.”
Wan-Bissaka has only been drafted into team due to the Red Devils’ defensive injury crisis.

Diogo Dalot has been Erik ten Hag’s preferred right-back when everyone is fit.
Wan-Bissaka had initially struggled to get into United’s team in the first-half of the season but has had far more games this calendar year. More

Dublin told William Hill: “In my opinion, he is good enough to go and play for Manchester United, and I think he’d only get better if he went there.
“Erik ten Hag likes a big striker and they need a proven goalscorer so maybe they should take a look at Ivan Toney.”

The Spaniard came under fire following his errors in United’s Europa League exit at the hands of Sevilla.
During the game, De Gea made two critical errors leading to goals.

Now, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola, United are looking at Costa as a potential replacement.

The Portuguese shot-stopper has been rated as one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe since breaking into the Porto team.
The report has suggested that Costa has a £66million release clause.

The potential transfer would only have been beaten by the £71m Chelsea paid for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

However, it would be a bigger investment than the £65m Liverpool paid Roma for Alisson Becker.

Man Utd ready to offer Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford HUGE salaries to fire title bid… paid from David de Gea wage cut

MANCHESTER UNITED want to make Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane a mouth-watering £600,000-a-week strike partnership to win back the title. That is the Old Trafford hierarchy’s aim as they bid to take advantage of Tottenham’s demise and land their No 1 target.

Keeper David de Gea is United’s highest earner on £375,000 a week but the 32-year-old, out of contract this summer, will drop his wages after receiving a new £200,000 offer.
Star striker Rashford, 25, has just over 12 months left on his deal and the Red Devils are fighting to tie him down to fresh terms, increasing his wages from £200,000 to £300,000 a week.
Tottenham and England record scorer Kane earns £200,000 a week but United will increase his pay packet by £100,000.
Three Lions captain Kane, who turns 30 in July, also has bonuses for goals scored and honours achieved — the same as Rashford.

As revealed last month by SunSport, United, who have not won the title since 2013, were confident of signing Kane this summer if Spurs finished outside the Champions League places.
After their 6-1 capitulation to Newcastle at St James’ Park on Sunday, a top-four finish looks increasingly unlikely.
Spurs are six points behind United ahead of Thursday’s home clash with Erik ten Hag’s FA Cup finalists.
If the Red Devils win, then the £100million asking price for Kane will dramatically reduce as the striker enters the final 12 months of his contract and heading towards the latter end of his career.

Spurs will be hit in the pocket from finishing outside the top four.
United are currently fourth on goal difference behind Newcastle but with a game in hand.

Neymar’s inconsistency has led to increased speculation over his future, with Chelsea continually linked with the forward.
But now, according to Footmercato in France, United are ready to join the hunt for the former £198million star.
They say Old Trafford bosses made enquiries about the attacker at the start of the season but decided against a concrete approach.
However, it is claimed that, should Qatari investors be successful in their bid to take over at United this summer, then Neymar could be seen as a marquee signing to signal their intentions.

Neymar’s contract runs out in 2025 and he does have the option to extend it to 2027.
