The Red Devils are said to have offered new terms to De Gea with a significant wage cut.

And according to the Daily Star, Ten Hag has identified Pickford for this position.

The 29-year-old sealed a contract with Everton running until 2027 earlier this season.
But with the Toffees thrust into a relegation battle, Pickford would be expected to leave in the event of relegation.
Even if Sean Dyche manages to guide the team to safety, United will still try to tempt the England No1 with a bigger wage package.
The Star’s report states Anderlecht keeper Bart Verbruggen has also been sounded out by Ten Hag.

Man Utd face summer of chaos with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in race against time to take charge before transfer window opens

SIR JIM RATCLIFFE and his INEOS group face a race against the clock to get control of Manchester United before the summer transfer window opens. And that could scupper a £100million move for Tottenham star Harry Kane — the striker the club so desperately needs.

That could severely impact Erik ten Hag’s transfer plansCredit: AFP
With less than three weeks to go before June 1, Britain’s richest man is still awaiting confirmation he has the green light to take charge at Old Trafford.
Sun Sport revealed yesterday how brothers Joel and Avram Glazer, co-chairmen at the club, have indicated that Ineos’ offer for a stake is their preferred choice rather than a full sale to Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani.
But until the decision is confirmed and relayed to all parties by the Glazer’s chosen deal-makers, the US-based Raine Group, lawyers cannot proceed with the next stage.
Full due diligence could take a month or more, meaning Ineos would not be able to start making financial decisions until well into June. And that will impact on United boss Erik ten Haag and his efforts to reshape the squad for next term.

Throughout the process which began in November, bidders have made it clear that they wanted any change in ownership to be fully completed before the end of this month.
That would allow the new owners to begin work on player acquisition and sales from the start of the summer window, rather than having to play catch-up with rivals.
Ineos will also have to address the critical issues of the future of the antiquated Old Trafford and the club’s Carrington training base, with both requiring substantial long-term investment.
But United fans are more concerned about the immediate team rebuilding needs.

And they were brought into stark relief as the squad’s performances have dipped appreciably in recent weeks and which means they are locked in a battle with Newcastle and Liverpool for one of the two remaining Champions League slots.
Getting back into Europe’s elite next season is imperative if United are to have any chance of earning a passage to the inaugural expanded Fifa Club World Cup – worth up to £50m – in 2025.

After winning the 2007 FA Youth Cup, he then made his senior debut in the League Cup.
He replaced Gary Neville off the bench to help United defeat Derby 4-2 in a match that Cristiano Ronaldo scored in.
Loan spells at Peterborough, Plymouth and Carlisle followed before he was sold to Hull City in 2011, where he helped The Tigers reach and scored in their 2014 FA Cup Final defeat to Arsenal.
A switch to West Brom followed before he then headed to rivals Aston Villa and Stoke City before he eventually ended up at Derby last summer after being released by Stoke.

Now the centre-half, who helped Wales reach the semi-finals of Euro 2016, is looking for another new club.
The Rams missed out on the League One play-offs by a point this season and have released a number of players as a result along with the 34-year-old Chester.
Meanwhile, another former United starlet is also on the look-out for a new employer.
Full-back Regan Poole, who appeared for the Red Devils in the Europa League before leaving to join MK Dons in 2019 has rejected a new deal at Lincoln City.

They finished 11th in League One, but despite making 56 appearances this term, Poole is hoping to make a step-up in the EFL.
Lincoln director of football Jez George said: “He wants to explore options at a higher level and we fully respect that.”
These two announcements come after Nick Powell was released by Stoke.
The forward, 29, was signed by Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012 in a deal worth up to £6million.
And he featured six times in Fergie’s final season in charge of the Red Devils.
But over the course of the following three years he played just three games for Man Utd as he was farmed out on loan to Wigan, Leicester and Hull.
He left Old Trafford on a free transfer in 2016 and signed a permanent deal with Wigan – who were in the second tier at the time but suffered relegation down to League One the following year.
After helping The Latics return to the Championship, he joined Stoke in 2019 and would rack up 119 appearances for the club. More

Newcastle and Everton join Man Utd in Osimhen transfer race but Chelsea have edge as Napoli want Blues outcast in swap

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly been joined by Everton and Newcastle in the race to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian striker, 24, has been one of the best in Europe this season as his goals have led Napoli to their first Serie A title in over 30 years.

    Osimhen’s stats this season
According to Il Mattino, Napoli are trying to convince the frontman to stay but there is “very serious” interest in him.
The report claims that Man United have an advantage over “everyone” due to the raised price of £139million.
Newcastle’s bid would likely rely on the club qualifying for the Champions League while Everton would have to certainly secure Premier League safety to stand a chance of signing him with their ambitious bid.
The potential price would be a record for a player in the Italian leagues.

It would break the record set by Paul Pogba’s £89m move from Juventus to the Red Devils.
It would also be more than what Juventus paid Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo, £88m.
It is also suggested that the Red Devils tried to sign Osimhen last summer but failed as they tried to include Ronaldo in the deal.
One issue for Napoli in their attempts to keep their talisman is the wages that could be offered for him elsewhere.

The club could not match the reported £8.5m-per-year salary that he could be offered.
However, the outlet does suggest that Chelsea could seriously rival Man United in the race for his signature.
The Blues could offer Romelu Lukaku or Christian Pulisic in part of a deal that would soften the blow of losing Osimhen.
The two attackers are believed to be on the chopping block at Stamford Bridge and the club could be keen on using them to bring down the price of Osimhen.
PSG has also been touted as a potential destination for the attacker as they look to replace both Lionel Messi and Neymar this summer.
Messi is set to leave the Ligue 1 side once his contract expires at the end of the season while there is a keenness to sell Neymar. More

It was reported at the start of the month that Bellingham would be offered a contract worth £12million-a-year.

The length of the deal is believed to be until 2029.
The fee Madrid will have to pay for Bellingham was thought to be £124million, however, the club are hoping to negotiate it lower.
Should the transfer go through it would be a major coup for Madrid.
Bellingham will be hoped to ease the loss of veterans Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, who are both approaching the end of their careers.
He is seen as the long-term successor for the latter.
And it’s reckoned Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni have both spoken to Bellingham about joining them in Spain. More

SunSport exclusively revealed the Glazer’s preferred bidder for the club is Sir Jim Ratcliffe ahead of Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani.
The Ineos owner is understood to have incentivised his offer by inserting a clause allowing co-chairman Joel and Avram to remain at the club.
US-based Raine Group, who have been overseeing the club’s sale, are expected to name the winning bid within days.
And with the issue of ownership finally set to be settled, United can get down to business in the transfer market.

Erik ten Hag is planning big changes of his own in order to bring the squad up to scratch.
And one of the first changes he is set to make will be between the sticks, with the Dutchman desperately wanting a goalkeeper who can play out from the back better than David de Gea can.
The Spaniard’s recent mistake against West Ham has seen the top-four race blown wide open as Liverpool seek to pinch United at the death to earn Champions League football.
David Raya is one such star linked with the position, but there could also be new faces in defence.

A new-look central defensive partnership could be seen at Old Trafford next season, with Ratcliffe sanctioning a raid on his other club Nice in France.
This may see ex-Barcelona CB Jean-Clair Todibo line up alongside Napoli’s Kim Min-jae, with reports suggesting United will trigger the South Korean’s £52million release clause in the first 15 days of June.
With no change at full-back, the next change may come in central midfield.
In this case, Ratcliffe may look to poach another star from Nice in the form of Khephren Thuram, the son of legendary Frenchman Lilian.

The 22-year-old ranks among the best midfielders in Ligue 1 for ball carrying. Thuram finds himself ranked No7 for carries into the final third while he also scores in the top 12 for progressive carries.
This shuttling ability could be useful alongside United’s other potential recruit, Declan Rice.
The West Ham captain could be on the move to Old Trafford with Arsenal now fearing they could be priced out in a bidding war for him.
The Irons are reportedly ready to allow bids to be pushed all the way up to £130m, with the Gunners said to want to strike a deal worth £80m.
Finally, the attack could see Ratcliffe’s statement signing of Harry Kane.

Although he can’t play in the final, United are understood to want Diallo to feel involved as he prepares to return to the club ahead of their pre-season tour of the United States.
The 20-year-old joined the Red Devils from Serie A side Atalanta in 2019 for a fee that could rise to £37million.
The Ivory Coast international has only made nine appearances for the Old Trafford outfit and joined Rangers on loan midway through last season.
However, Diallo has enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Sunderland this season scoring 13 goals in 37 appearances as the Black Cats secured a Championship play-off spot.

If Sunderland overcome Luton in the play-off semi final then Diallo will be returning to Wembley a week after the FA Cup final for Tony Mowbray’s side.

He said: “Playing against Luton is very hard but I hope we’ll be in the Premier League next season and maybe I’ll come back, I don’t know.”
United fans took to social media reacting to the news with a lot of clamour for Diallo to return.

One user said: ” Give him the right wing position next season, have to make Antony feel some threat.”
A second commented: “Nice touch, definitely feels there is a better organized pathway for Amad and other young players under this management team.”
A third replied: “Question is who is he going to bench? Rashford on the left, antony on the right.. and we might be shopping for a centre forward.?”
United manager Erik ten Hag opted against recalling Diallo from Sunderland in January as he did not want to halt his development.
He said: “We consider everything but I have a little bit of reservation about [recalling Amad] because I don’t want to stop the process.
“He has made really good progress there so I’m happy with that.
“But young players need experiences and when we decide for him to come back, he has to be a player who can compete for the starting XI or minimum to come on for a lot of games and make an impact.
“I didn’t see him in the starting XI or a player who had already had an impact [in pre-season]. But I see and value his potential and capabilities.
“What I saw is that he needs experience in men’s football, senior football. I think there are many aspects of football to get strong physically and mentally, and also skills-wise, to improve and develop that so he can have value for us.” More
