SunSport exclusively revealed the Glazer’s preferred bidder for the club is Sir Jim Ratcliffe ahead of Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani.
The Ineos owner is understood to have incentivised his offer by inserting a clause allowing co-chairman Joel and Avram to remain at the club.
US-based Raine Group, who have been overseeing the club’s sale, are expected to name the winning bid within days.
And with the issue of ownership finally set to be settled, United can get down to business in the transfer market.

Erik ten Hag is planning big changes of his own in order to bring the squad up to scratch.
And one of the first changes he is set to make will be between the sticks, with the Dutchman desperately wanting a goalkeeper who can play out from the back better than David de Gea can.
The Spaniard’s recent mistake against West Ham has seen the top-four race blown wide open as Liverpool seek to pinch United at the death to earn Champions League football.
David Raya is one such star linked with the position, but there could also be new faces in defence.

A new-look central defensive partnership could be seen at Old Trafford next season, with Ratcliffe sanctioning a raid on his other club Nice in France.
This may see ex-Barcelona CB Jean-Clair Todibo line up alongside Napoli’s Kim Min-jae, with reports suggesting United will trigger the South Korean’s £52million release clause in the first 15 days of June.
With no change at full-back, the next change may come in central midfield.
In this case, Ratcliffe may look to poach another star from Nice in the form of Khephren Thuram, the son of legendary Frenchman Lilian.

The 22-year-old ranks among the best midfielders in Ligue 1 for ball carrying. Thuram finds himself ranked No7 for carries into the final third while he also scores in the top 12 for progressive carries.
This shuttling ability could be useful alongside United’s other potential recruit, Declan Rice.
The West Ham captain could be on the move to Old Trafford with Arsenal now fearing they could be priced out in a bidding war for him.
The Irons are reportedly ready to allow bids to be pushed all the way up to £130m, with the Gunners said to want to strike a deal worth £80m.
Finally, the attack could see Ratcliffe’s statement signing of Harry Kane.

Ten Hag has been crying out for an ace to help score more goals, with just two players from the current squad having 10 or more in all competitions this season.
Kane, 29, has 26 in the Premier League alone – three less than United’s top scorer Marcus Rashford has managed in all comps. More

Although he can’t play in the final, United are understood to want Diallo to feel involved as he prepares to return to the club ahead of their pre-season tour of the United States.
The 20-year-old joined the Red Devils from Serie A side Atalanta in 2019 for a fee that could rise to £37million.
The Ivory Coast international has only made nine appearances for the Old Trafford outfit and joined Rangers on loan midway through last season.
However, Diallo has enjoyed a very successful loan spell at Sunderland this season scoring 13 goals in 37 appearances as the Black Cats secured a Championship play-off spot.

If Sunderland overcome Luton in the play-off semi final then Diallo will be returning to Wembley a week after the FA Cup final for Tony Mowbray’s side.
After their 3-0 win against Preston on Monday in which he scored a screamer, Diallo hinted he could stay at Sunderland beyond this season.
He said: “Playing against Luton is very hard but I hope we’ll be in the Premier League next season and maybe I’ll come back, I don’t know.”
United fans took to social media reacting to the news with a lot of clamour for Diallo to return.

One user said: ” Give him the right wing position next season, have to make Antony feel some threat.”
A second commented: “Nice touch, definitely feels there is a better organized pathway for Amad and other young players under this management team.”
A third replied: “Question is who is he going to bench? Rashford on the left, antony on the right.. and we might be shopping for a centre forward.?”
United manager Erik ten Hag opted against recalling Diallo from Sunderland in January as he did not want to halt his development.
He said: “We consider everything but I have a little bit of reservation about [recalling Amad] because I don’t want to stop the process.
“He has made really good progress there so I’m happy with that.
“But young players need experiences and when we decide for him to come back, he has to be a player who can compete for the starting XI or minimum to come on for a lot of games and make an impact.
“I didn’t see him in the starting XI or a player who had already had an impact [in pre-season]. But I see and value his potential and capabilities.
“What I saw is that he needs experience in men’s football, senior football. I think there are many aspects of football to get strong physically and mentally, and also skills-wise, to improve and develop that so he can have value for us.” More

I travelled 300 miles with my son to watch Man Utd play… only to be turned away because of an honest mistake

The pair were in high spirits as they finally arrived at Old Trafford to watch their club’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa on April 30.
The Manchester United tickets were purchased by Michael’s wife as part of a package.
And they were a Christmas present the father and son had been looking forward to for months.
Arriving at the stadium two hours early, Michael and Jack went to go take their seats in the stands.

Michael claims he was able to pass through the turnstile easily, but when he looked behind him, Jack appeared to have got stuck.
The family believe Jack successfully scanned his ticket, but made the mistake of not passing through the turnstile quickly enough, causing it to lock before he could go through.
Amid claims security staff said they couldn’t help, Michael went back through the turnstile and the pair tried to get help from management.
But after two hours of trying, the pair claim nobody was able to help them, and they were forced to abandon the game.

Jack’s sister Shauna said her father and brother were left devastated.
She told the M.E.N: “They booked a package and had travel to Dublin, then get the boat to Wales and then get a coach to Manchester where they stayed the night before.
“My dad and brother got to the ground two hours before and my dad went through the turnstile fine, but my brother wasn’t able to get through.
“The only thing we think could have happened is that he didn’t go through quickly enough and it locked.
“Nobody around them could help. They said there was no other way to let my brother in. My dad wasn’t going to leave him so came out of the turnstile as well.
“They spoke to several members of staff. One was very nice and got on the radio and told them to issue two new tickets, to which he was told ‘no’.”
Shauna said her dad and brother spoke to another member of staff who said they could purchase two new tickets for £90.
The father and son were prepared to do this having travelled so far, but when they got to that stand they were told they were sold out.
Shauna continued: “My brother is 18 and this was only the second game he’d been to. My dad is 53 and had only been a handful of times.
“It was booked as a Christmas present for both of them and they had been really looking forward to it. They are lifelong Manchester United fans.
“The whole package cost £550 and they had to buy membership to be able to go to the game. Despite showing their tickets, membership and photo ID at the game – nobody would let them in.
“I just want Manchester United to acknowledge what happened and just apologise.

“A refund for the tickets would also be appreciated since they didn’t get to watch the game.”

Forgotten Man Utd keeper signed by Sir Alex Ferguson ‘set for Premier League return in controversial Liverpool transfer’

Signing for Man Utd in 2005, Zieler was included in Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad for their League Cup clash against Middlesbrough during the 2008/09 campaign.
But he never made an appearance for the Red Devils and left to join Hannover in 2010.
A short spell back in England with Leicester in 2016 saw him play nine Premier League games.
He then returned to the Bundesliga for a stint with Stuttgart and is now enjoying a second spell at Hannover.

But according to Bild, he could be set for a shock move to Anfield.
That is because Hannover’s ex-sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke, is expected to make the switch to Liverpool.
And Zieler is being heavily linked as his first signing on Merseyside given Schmadtke brought him to Hannover more than a decade ago.
Liverpool are in the market for a back-up keeper to Alisson as their No2 Caoimhin Kelleher is attracting interest from Tottenham, Brentford and Brighton.

The Irishman, 24, has played just 20 matches during his five years under Jurgen Klopp and is now understood to be seeking more game time.
His departure could leave a vacant space for Zieler – who was Joachim Lowe’s third-choice keeper in Germany’s 2014 World Cup-winning squad.
Zieler has one year left on his contract with Hannover after the club triggered an extension in March.
And the club’s sporting director, Marcus Mann, recently said: “Ron has a contract with us, we’re making plans with him.”
But Liverpool will remain confident they can prise him away from the German outfit, particularly if they snatch Champions League qualification.
Klopp’s men sit one point adrift of fourth-place Manchester United in the Premier League table having played one game more.
But they have just three matches to close the gap on the Red Devils – which come against Leicester, Aston Villa and Southampton. More

The talented holding midfielder has been starring for Fiorentina over the past three years.
And Mourinho is so eager for Amrabat to anchor his PSG side that he’s already spoken to the player’s agent.
Amrabat hit headlines at the Qatar World Cup for helping Morocco to an impressive fourth-place finish.
Chelsea made a deadline day bid for him in January when a deal for Enzo Fernandez looked in doubt.
And Liverpool have also expressed interested as Jurgen Klopp plans a midfield revamp.
However, Man United have been leading the race recently in England.
Like Chelsea, they too tried landing Amrabat in January.
And it’s reckoned Erik ten Hag remains keen on a deal this summer, even though the player is believed to favour a move to Barcelona.
Amrabat’s agent said last month: “I can name three clubs who were concrete in the last two or three days of the transfer window.
“Man Utd wanted a loan with an option to buy, Fiorentina rejected.”

However, United may have to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements should Mourinho and PSG come knocking.

Sun Sport revealed last month that United are confident of signing Kane should Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League.
The Red Devils believe that missing out on Europe’s premier club competition would see the north Londoners reduce their £100m asking price.
The Old Trafford outfit would also be able to increase Kane’s wages by £100,000 to £300,000 per week.
