Greenwood was later charged with attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour, before the charges were dropped in February by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
And Utd are expected to make their decision on his future in the coming days.
But some of the club’s women players – who play for England and are currently in Australia for the World Cup – will be consulted before a decision is made.
Man Utd goalkeeper Mary Earps and midfielders Ella Toone and Katie Zelem are all Lionesses.

Club bosses are said to have been involved in conversations with their female first team, Greenwood and his family, the BBC reports.
It is not known when the situation will be resolved but it could see Greenwood have his contract terminated, see him put back into the first team, loaned out or sold.
Yesterday, Utd released provisional squad numbers for the new season – with him omitted.
Last season Greenwood wore No11 on his back – but that number as well as the player himself did not appear on the list.

It comes after manager Erik ten Hag and the majority of the first team have suggested they were open to the idea of bringing the Greenwood back.
But United’s women’s team were understood to have reservations, while sponsors were left concerned about being linked to the footballer.
Fans had been expecting the club to have made a decision by now, but it has now been revealed why there’s a delay.
Utd are now said to be consulting with sponsors, football staff and the women’s team before it makes the announcement. More

Maguire, 30, was dropped early on last season by boss Erik ten Hag and went on to start just eight Prem matches.
Earlier this summer it was confirmed that Ten Hag had stripped the England defender of the captaincy at Old Trafford, with Bruno Fernandes taking his place.
United have agreed a deal to let Maguire join West Ham, but it is now up to the experienced centre-back himself.
Quizzed if his former skipper is available for Monday night’s match, Ten Hag said: “Of course.”

Maguire has fallen behind Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and at times even Luke Shaw in the pecking order at United.
But he could yet opt to stay and fight for his place.
With Euro 2024 looming next summer, however, Maguire may decide that regular first team football is important if he is to keep his Three Lions place.
Maguire has two years remaining on his £190,000-a-week contract at United.

It is understood that West Ham are offering him a wage cut to £120,000 a week to move to East London.
To offset the difference, SunSport revealed that United will give Maguire a £6m pay-off to leave for the Hammers.
Following his demotion from United’s captaincy earlier this summer, Maguire said: “I wanted to say a massive thank you to the Manchester United fans for all their brilliant support whilst I’ve been wearing the armband.
“Since the day I took on the role, three and half years ago, it’s been a huge privilege to lead Manchester United and one of the proudest moments of my career to date.
“It’s one of the greatest honours in club football.
“I’ve done everything I possibly could to help United be successful – on and off the field.
“I will always be grateful to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for first giving me the responsibility and I wish whoever now takes it on every success and they will have my full support.”
West Ham, meanwhile, get their Prem season underway tomorrow with a trip to Bournemouth.

Speaking ahead of that match, boss David Moyes confirmed that his side are in for Maguire.
He said: “We’ve had a bid accepted from Manchester United, but while he’s not our player I’m not in a position to discuss him.”

Important reason behind Man Utd’s decision to delay Mason Greenwood announcement is revealed

The club is said to be in talks with the entire department – including the women’s team.
It comes after boss Erik ten Hag today gave an update – but didn’t mention Greenwood once.
He spoke about the team’s first game of the season against Wolves on Monday night, as well as saying Harry Kane’s impending move to Bayern Munich was a “miss for the Premier League”.
He added: “We are very confident but also I want to mention pre-season doesn’t say anything, it’s friendly football.

“Though I never take a game as a friendly, it’s friendly in the sense of going.
“In the league, going for the points it’s a different approach for both teams.
“We are ready to go for the fight, the team is really energetic and we worked really good for pre-season and we go for it.”
It comes after The Sun revealed snaps on Tuesday of Greenwood looking relaxed as he trained on a public pitch.
His dad and coach, Andrew Greenwood, instructed him and cradled the player’s newborn as he ran through shooting drills with pals.
In June he worked on his close control and shooting in a 90-minute session on an £85-an-hour pitch.

The Ligue 1 side had no intention of triggering his £6m option to buy, so the Red Devils reportedly put him on the market for even less.
Man Utd are now said to be willing to sell the Ivory Coast international for just £2m.
Ten Hag has already introduced three new additions to his first team squad this summer.
Mason Mount was first to join the club when he made a £60m switch from Chelsea last month.
Andre Onana followed after completing a £47m transfer from Inter Milan.
And Rasmus Hojlund became the latest addition to Ten Hag’s squad when he joined in a £72m move last week.
However, there are now some concerns surrounding his fitness after it emerged that a hidden back injury will keep him sidelined for the first few weeks of the Premier League season. More

And Pavard’s name is on a four-man list earmarked to replace the England defender, according to the Mail Online.
The versatile defender has been on United’s shortlist since the winter transfer window of last season.
And, with one year left on his current contract, United may be able to recruit the World Cup-winner on an affordable deal and he is said to be “keen” on leaving.
Jean-Clair Todibo, Edmond Tapsoba and Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi are the other options reportedly in Ten Hag’s notebook.

Tapsoba, 24, is out of contract next summer which is another key factor for United to explore.
But his club, German side Bayer Leverkusen, will not be willing to let him go cheap.
Todibo has excelled at Nice since an £8.5m move from Barcelona in 2021.
The centre-half, 23, has also attracted interest from Juventus this summer but the Italians were put off by his £35m price-tag.

While that could seem cheap compared to Guehi, who would come at a premium from Palace having received four England caps in the last year.
Without Maguire, United are left with Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof to play in the centre of defence, while Luke Shaw filled in on occasion last season.
Eric Bailly remains on the books having returned from his loan at Marseille.
While Jonny Evans is also still with the squad having signed a short-term deal foe pre-season.
The veteran, 35, could stay on as an efficient short-term option as the club look for a younger alternative. More
