But a supercomputer has now predicted that Man Utd will still finish in the Champions League places ahead of Spurs.
According to the table formulated by MyBettingSites, the Red Devils will slot in behind Liverpool to secure the final spot in the top four.
However, there are no surprises when it comes to who the computer has predicted to be champions.
Manchester City sit top of the tree and are just 1/4 to claim a fifth Premier League title in six years.

They are followed by Arsenal who currently sit top of the table, two points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s men.
And Liverpool are predicted to recover from a poor start to the campaign to clinch third.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently languishing down in eighth, but showed signs of bouncing back with a 2-1 win over Tottenham at the weekend.
Beneath Antonio Conte’s side, the supercomputer sees Newcastle finishing sixth despite them sitting third after 14 games.

Next comes Graham Potter’s Chelsea – who are predicted to end the season in a disappointing seventh place.
Brighton, Crystal Palace and West Ham are the teams who prop up the supercomputer’s top 10, but it is bad news for three sides down the bottom.
Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth are expected to return to the Championship at the first time of asking.
And it is predicted that Wolves will join them in the second tier next season.
Southampton, Everton and Brentford are among the teams expected to narrowly avoid the drop. More

Forgotten Man Utd wonderkid labelled ‘amazing talent’ by manager of club he’s starring on loan at

Man United have made numerous big signings over the past couple of seasons.
Some players have gone on to star for the club, like Bruno Fernandes.
And others have failed to make an impact.
But some are doing their best to put things right.

Former Atalanta youngster Amad Diallo is one of those, having cost £37million to sign nearly two years ago.
The 20-year-old scored just one goal in nine games for United.
And he also struggled during a loan spell at Rangers last term.
But the Ivory Coast international is starting to find his feet at his latest club.

And that can only bode well for United in the future.
Diallo joined Sunderland on loan for the campaign following their promotion to the Championship.
The left-footer has two goals in 11 games, helping his side to 12th in the table.
And boss Tony Mowbray is delighted with Diallo’s impact at the Stadium of Light.
The tactician reckons his latest star is thriving away from the spotlight, and has every chance of succeeding under Erik ten Hag if he returns to United next summer.
Mowbray declared: “Knowing his personality, it’s good that he’s under the Premier League radar – under the Manchester United world support radar.
“But he’s still at Sunderland where there are 40,000 at home games demanding that he runs and fights and chases and wins headers, and he has scored a couple of goals in the last three games.
“We can see on the training pitch that he has got amazing talent.
“You can see why Manchester United might have paid an incredible amount of money for him, because the ball sticks to his foot and he’s fast and he knows where the net is – he’s got a wand of a left foot.
“I think he just has to play football and enjoy football and grow, really. Whether he ever gets to the level [where he plays regularly for Manchester United] … I hope he does.

“At Blackburn Rovers we had Harvey Elliott for a season and again sometimes they have to make the step up. Amad has got amazing talent like Harvey Elliott has amazing talent.
“Whether he ever makes the jump to play for Manchester United and have to win every game, we’ll see what the future holds for him. We’re pleased that he’s with us and he’s helped us over the last few games.” More

But Erik ten Hag’s men could only win 1-0, leaving them runners-up.

Both games were postponed earlier this season due to the Queen’s death.
And thanks to their Europa knockout, United are now solidly booked in each midweek and weekend slot.
There could be some joy further down the line, as two of those dates have been put aside for FA Cup replays.
But that’s only if United, plus whichever opponent they are due to face, come through their original tie unscathed.
Some dates are also reserved for the Carabao Cup, yet the same theory applies.
And Premier League beaks will now have to put their heads together to figure out just how United can fulfil their games against Palace and Leeds.
The headache comes during the busiest season ever, which is down to the Qatar World Cup being played in winter.

The Portugal legend looked to be on the way out at Old Trafford after his Spurs strop.
Ronnie refused to come off the bench as United recorded an impressive win over their rivals.
And he compounded the misery by driving out of the stadium before the final whistle had been blown.
Ten Hag punished Ronaldo by dropping him for the next game against Chelsea, while also cutting him from first-team training.

“He’s a really important part of this group and in Spain he’s a real threat to every defence, every gap he will use.”
Victory in Spain – by two goals – will see United seal top spot in their group, avoiding a dreaded play-off for the knockouts against a team coming from the Champions League.

But Ten Hag is feeling confident about his side’s chances.

However, Ten Hag took a break from all that drama on Tuesday and went out on a cycling ride with his wife Bianca.
The couple took their electric bikes and went to a cafe in Hale Village to enjoy some down time.

The 52-year-old tactician has been dealing with less tension amid the ongoing team rebuild at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag’s reign kicked off with two humiliating losses to Brighton and Brentford in the Premier League.
But the ex-Ajax boss turned things around with a big win over Liverpool, which set up a record of seven wins and only one loss in 10 league matches.
Ten Hag, though, quickly showed that he thrived under pressure with the way he disciplined his United players after August’s 4-0 thrashing at Brentford.
The Dutch head coach cancelled the players’ day off after their loss and ordered them to complete the 13.8km which the Bees had outrun them by in the scorching heat.

The star forward was inundated by requests and found all that noise to be a little too much in a viral clip that has hit social media.
So the Portugal captain decided to turn the clock back 10 years as he asked his supporters to calm down.
The 37-year-old used the same hand gesture he applied during his famous “Calma” celebration against Barcelona.

Martial, 26, returned to United over the summer after a flop loan spell at Sevilla.
He hit the ground running in pre-season under new boss Erik ten Hag.
But a number of injuries have limited Martial to just four appearances this term.
Despite spending most of his time on the sideline, the hitman has still managed to score three goals.

And some United fans reckon Martial is the final missing piece in Ten Hag’s already-impressive jigsaw.

And with four games left until Qatar 2022, Martial could get a run in United’s starting XI.
That could even open the door for a stunning World Cup call-up from France boss Didier Deschamps.
The defending champs need solid support for Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe.
And reports claim Martial is still in with a shout if he puts a run of games together.
