      Yet right now, quite a few people would agree.
      Sancho should still prove to be one hell of a player both for Manchester United and England. Over the last few weeks, the signs have been promising.
      But for £73million, particularly against the worst defence in the Premier League, you would expect quite a bit more from the player who smashed all sorts of records for Dortmund.
      The fact this was only his seventh start for United in the Premier League tells you everything you need to know about a tricky start to life at Old Trafford.
      Sancho was certainly not terrible here at Carrow Road and not all the fans in the away end appeared to be particularly impressed with Rangnick’s decision.
      Marcus Rashford was lucky to remain on the pitch when Sancho became the first substitute of what was a tight game before Ronaldo’s penalty.

      This game was set up perfectly for Sancho to deliver some proper damage. Unlike several of his team-mates, he was always looking for the ball, keen to deliver quick one-twos and was maybe just on a higher wavelength.
      Equally, he has the ability to make something happen out of nothing and he failed to do that against Norwich.

      Sancho also needs to have proper lift-off in 2022 if he is to get back into the England squad.
      There is every chance he can do this as time is running out. There are just eight matches to go until the World Cup with two of them coming in March.
      But first of all, he needs to start looking like a £73m signing for United.

      Man Utd teen Amad Diallo headed for January loan transfer with ‘many clubs’ interested in deal

      SEVERAL clubs are scrapping to seal a loan deal for Manchester United kid Amad Diallo, according to reports.Diallo, 19, hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League football this season.

      But he saw action during Wednesday’s draw at home to Young Boys as Ralf Rangnick shuffled his pack for the Champions League dead rubber.
      And several European clubs are interested in a short-term deal for the Ivory Coast international.
      Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported: “Many clubs have already approached Man United to negotiate for Amad Diallo loan in January. Feyenoord want him since last summer. #MUFC”
      The young star has been earmarked for a loan all season and Diallo is said to be ‘excited’ by the prospect.
      The winger signed from Atalanta last January in a £37m deal and United are keen for him to get first team football to aid his development.
      Feyenoord were interested in the summer and remain keen in Diallo, who is considered one of the world’s brightest stars.

      THERE is now more than one Zidane.This week, Manchester United starlet Zidane Iqbal made his debut for the Red Devils.
      A late substitution in the 1-1 draw against Young Boys, the Iraqi U23 international made history by becoming the first ever South Asian footballer to pull on the famous red shirt.

      However, it wasn’t United legends like Wayne Rooney or Cristiano Ronaldo who inspired Iqbal growing up.
      Ex-Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil was Iqbal’s idol growing up because of his Muslim background.
      PAKISTANI HERITAGE
      Iqbal was asked on Manchester United’s official website who he looked up to as he rose through the ranks at the club.
      “Mesut Ozil, because he’s a Muslim like me. Just seeing another Muslim footballer is a good thing,” he revealed.
      “The journey is different for everyone, and I can tell you it’s not easy. It’s like a rollercoaster, up and down. You just have to enjoy the ride and whatever’s meant to be is meant to be.”
      While the box-to-box midfielder also revealed Barcelona’s Dutch ace Frenkie de Jong is someone he likes to model is own game on.
      The exciting talent was born in Manchester to a Pakistani father and Iraqi mother.
      “I come from such a hard-working family. My parents are always working hard, my brother, my grandparents
      “When we came to this country, they all inspired me to give my best at everything I do.”

      At grassroots level he played for Sale United, until he was plucked by United scouts to join their academy aged just nine – the earliest age legally permitted.
      His former coach Stewart Hamer previously praised Iqbal’s attitude to the Manchester Evening News.
      “He had a great attitude, he was always willing to learn and he played with a big smile on his face,” he said.
      “He was quite happy to do whatever we challenged him to do.
      “Everyone took their part in being a goalkeeper, for example, and he’d take his part in the net just like everyone else.”
      Even at the age of six he was running rings around the opposition, which his coach deemed “unfair”.
      “We had quite a bit of success if you can call it that at that stage, and Zidane was at the heart of that,” Hamer continued.
      “There were times when we would play six-a-side competitions and he would be basically ripping it up.

      “We would take him off and substitute him because it wasn’t fair to the other side.
      “Or sometimes we’d put him in goal so he wasn’t causing the danger.”
      INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL BECKONS
      Being born in the UK, Iqbal could represent England.
      But, for the moment, it’s Iraq who are profiting from the skilful youngster.
      Back in September, he was called up to their U23 team for the first time.
      A month later, he starred as captain in a 2-2 draw against Lebanon – scoring his first goal.
      According to reports, the Iraq Football Association are desperate for Iqbal to commit his future to the national team.
      Back in August, England manager Gareth Southgate stressed the importance of incorporating more British South Asian players in the game.
      “Sometimes the Asian voice has been lost in the anti-discrimination argument,” Southgate said
      “And when you look at the percentages of the population that we’re talking about, it’s high numbers. Frankly, it’s a big talent pool that we’re missing within football. We don’t have high numbers of English-qualified players playing anyway, clubs in their academies are always searching for talent.
      “It’s like in any business. If you’re only selecting from a smaller section of the population, then what are you missing?

      The Red Devils know the pressure is off at Old Trafford because they have already topped Group F with a game to spare in the Champions League.
      That could see wholesale changes from Rangnick, especially with the hectic Christmas schedule around the corner.
      As reported by the Manchester Evening News, Rangnick stayed on at Carrington while 13 first-team stars were taken to The Hyatt hotel this afternoon to make the final preparations for tonight’s game.
      The German remained at the training ground working with the likes of Bjorn Hardley, Charlie Wellens, Charlie Savage, Sam Mather, Zidane Iqbal and Shola Shoretire, who were named in the squad list for the Young Boys clash.
      Mather, 17, is not expected to be involved after being named in the starting XI for the Under-19s Youth League game.
      However, the rest look on course to be in the matchday team – with four set for debuts.

      His new side already seem to be adapting as they produced an impressive post-Sir Alex Ferguson record stat in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
      Rangnick also praised 36-year-old Ronaldo’s work-rate off the ball against the Eagles.
      Many have doubted whether the veteran Portuguese legend will be able to fit into Rangnick’s style.
      But the forward’s former United team-mate Ferdinand has no doubts that the boss will work around the ‘superstar’.
      Speaking to BT Sport, he said: “He’ll be adapting his tactics to suit a superstar like Cristiano Ronaldo. 
      “Don’t forget that at Schalke he had another superstar in Raul, who was another ageing superstar, and he adapted things to make sure he could accommodate a player of that calibre and class.”

      He was approached last week by United to join the backroom staff, as revealed by SunSport.
      Struber, 44, is close friends with Rangnick – who has just taken over at United for the next six months.
      They spent time together at Red Bull Salzburg as youth coach and Director of Football respectively.
      But SunSport understands Struber has decided to stay with the MLS side.
      That is because he does not want to drop down from head coach to assistant.
      United were also reluctant to pay the hefty compensation fee for what would be a brief stay at the club with Struber having two years left on his contract with NY Red Bulls.
