      THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION have charged Manchester United for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion against Brighton.A strike from Cristiano Ronaldo, who ended his six-match goal drought, and Bruno Fernandes sealed a 2-0 victory for the Red Devils over the Seagulls.

      However, several United stars surrounded referee Peter Bankes after Brighton captain Lewis Dunk fouled Anthony Elanga early in the second half.
      The official initially showed Dunk a yellow card, but that was upgraded to a red after consultation with VAR.
      The initial decision to only caution the defender was protested vociferously by a number of United players.
      Fernandes was also booked for his over-the-top reaction during the protest.
      Now the FA have announced that they are set to take action against Ralf Rangnick’s side.
      A statement read: “Manchester United FC has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E20.1 following its Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion FC on Tuesday [15/2/22].

      “It is alleged that Manchester United FC failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 53rd minute, and the club has until Monday [21/2/22] to provide a response.”
      Brighton boss Graham Potter revealed afterwards he felt the initial decision was correct but United’s players may have impacted the subsequent VAR decision.
      He said: “I don’t blame them (the United players). They have to do their bit for the team.
      “But you need the referee and VAR to make the calls independently.
      “It was a yellow card live, [Adam] Webster was there on the cover. It is not clear and obvious and I did not understand the intervention.”

      And Shaw even reckons some may brand him ‘stupid’ for believing his underperforming teammates can go all the way.
      The England defender told the Mirror: “This is the crunch time of the season and it is very important in the league to get some momentum.
      “As a team we believe we can win the Champions League.
      “Not many people on the outside will think it and some will think I’m stupid for saying that.
      “But we have that belief and confidence that we can win it.
      “I’m sure everyone in this dressing room – the players, staff and management – all have that belief that we can.

      The Portuguese superstar, who finally ended his goal drought with a strike in last night’s win over Brighton, is reportedly ‘annoying’ the Red Devils squad as he wants to ‘lead’ the club.

      But he has suffered a dramatic dip in form since Ralf Rangnick’s arrival and had gone six matches without finding the net until his effort against the Seagulls.

      Following victories over Crystal Palace and Norwich, Rangnick then tweaked that to a 4-3-3 system.
      United beat both Brentford and West Ham playing that way before they were beaten on penalties in the FA Cup by Middlesbrough and then held by Burnley at the weekend.
      Now after a slow start against Brighton at the Theatre of Dreams on Tuesday night, he was spotted telling his stars of another change.
      Just 24 minutes were on the clock when Rangnick was spotted signalling for change to 4-2-3-1.
      His side had offered little going forward as the Seagulls looked the most dangerous throughout the opening exchanges.
      And that tactical switch enabled United to effectively push Bruno Fernandes further forward alongside Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga.
