      Ex-Liverpool star Carragher and United favourite Neville have forged an unlikely partnership as football pundits for Sky Sports.
      Throughout the years they have butted heads plenty of times.
      But at the heart of their relationship lies a strong friendship built on solid banter.
      And Carragher decided to poke fun at ex-Valencia boss Neville by posting a picture of the former right-back in a sombrero.
      Carragher simply wrote: “Happy birthday Gary.”
      It is sure to provide some light relief for Neville after he turned his attention to old club United this week.

      And he has demanded a stop to them as United chase a top four finish.

      And he is currently in Manchester to receive radiotherapy treatment.
      River comes from a Midlands family of Wolves supporters.
      But being in Manchester has seen him link up with some of the city’s top footballers.
      Cristiano Ronaldo and Jack Grealish are just two who have met River and sent him heart-warming messages.
      And it was Man Utd skipper Maguire this week who met up with the brave lad for a kickabout and talk over the latest football news.
      Maguire was clearly touched by the encounter and took to Twitter to send River an uplifting message.

      However, Rangnick has a few other players desperate for a chance to impress.

      Maguire took to social media to blast reports that he was being asked to step down to take some pressure off him.
      The 28 year old who has been struggling for form said on Twitter: “I’ve seen a lot of reports about this club that aren’t true.
      “Not going to start posting about everything that is written but I needed to make this one clear.
      “We’re united and focused on Sunday.”
      Rangnick backed him up to the hilt, saying : “It’s absolutely nonsense.
      “I am the manager of this club and I have never spoken to any player about changing the captaincy.

      “I have not spoken to Harry, I have not spoken to Cristiano. They know that.

      He stressed :“I had heard about what was written.
      “I can only tell you from my personal experience over the last eleven, twelve weeks.
      “Yes, there were player that were unhappy until the closure of the window because I always said the squad was too big.
      “We had too many players who just realised they wouldn’t get game time – this is the truth, for sure.
      “But what I can tell you is that the atmosphere in the locker room is better than it used to be a couple of weeks ago.”
      As he looked forward to Sunday’s visit to Elland Road and a clash with Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United he added: “So now it is about performing well.
      “Getting together on the pitch, getting the best out of our performance and winning games.
      “This is our job. All the other things we have no influence on at all.”

      “I think that was more off his price tag rather than the side of him as a person, as a leader of men.
      “And at the moment I think the one who should be captain is the one they all respect is David De Gea. Because to be a captain you have to respect a player.
      “De Gea has to be the most respected player in that United team because he’s the one who’s actually kept them in the position to be fourth in the league at this moment in time.”

      John Terry left the stadium on crutches following a challenge with Rooney and the FA stepped in to ask the Derby County boss for his observations.
      However Rooney was let off with a warning after the Rams boss wrote to explain why his comments had been misinterpreted.
      He explained his comments centred around his mood in the build-up to the game – but did not apply to the Terry tackle which he insists was a fair 50-50 challenge.
      “I am happy it is over and done with. I obviously gave my response to the FA,” Rooney said.
      “They have given me a warning, that is it, the matter is put to bed. We move on from that.
      “I came out and spoke my mind about what I was feeling at that period of time in my life.

      CRISTIANO RONALDO’s clique at Manchester United is allegedly irritating some of his team-mates, according to sensational reports in Germany.Bild journalist Christian Falk says some of the side’s stars, including some England internationals, have been left ‘annoyed’ by the 37-year-old’s behaviour.

      The Portuguese superstar, who finally ended his goal drought with a strike in last night’s win over Brighton, is reportedly ‘annoying’ the Red Devils squad as he wants to ‘lead’ the club.
      Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford last summer and is currently their top goalscorer with 15.
      But he has suffered a dramatic dip in form since Ralf Rangnick’s arrival and had gone six matches without finding the net until his superb effort against the Seagulls.
      However, United are enduring a difficult campaign and face a huge fight to secure their top four status.
      That has led to speculation that Ronaldo could leave at the end of the season with some reports stating he wants a crisis meeting with his agent Jorge Mendes over the coming weeks.
      There have also been rumours of dressing-room unrest and a number of cliques within the United squad.
