Man Utd and Chelsea among frontrunners for Darwin Nunez transfer as Euro giants battle it out for Benfica goal machine

MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea are favourites to sign Benfica hot shot Darwin Nunez, according to reports.Nunez, 22, has the Premier League big boys on high alert, with Benfica open to selling the Uruguay international.

The Athletic report that the South American star will be one of this summer’s “major transfers”.
And that “Europe’s top sides” are scouting the Benfica star, including Man Utd and Chelsea.
His value is predicted to be around £58million but he is still in contract until 2025 and his release clause is said to be a staggering £127m.

Although the Irishman did ultimately concur with Neville’s view and concluded: “It takes real courage to do that, when you’re up against that quality of individual.
“The players have to go and do it but the coaches give them that message and they’re doing it – they are brave to do it.”

And Neville reckons that actually favours the Reds – despite three blockbuster Anfield matches.
The ex-Red Devils right-back said: “In the Premier League we’ve looked at City’s run-in and think, ‘That’s an easier run-in.’

ERIK TEN HAG reacted angrily when asked about being linked with a move to Manchester United.Reports this week claimed the Red Devils were set to finalise the appointment of Ten Hag following the conclusion of their managerial interviews.
