How Man Utd could line up vs Crystal Palace with Jadon Sancho and Upamecano in but Rashford OUT after landing transfers

THE Premier League fixtures for the 2020-21 season have been released, with Manchester United starting with a home game against Crystal Palace.
United won the away encounter last season post-lockdown, but Roy Hodgson’s side beat United 2-1 at Old Trafford earlier in the campaign.

    12

How Man Utd could line-up in 2020-21
It’s the kind of game United must win if they are to keep pace with rivals Manchester City and Liverpool, who will inevitably be the ones to catch again.
If United are to have any chance of doing that though, they must strengthen this summer.
Below, United End editor Tom McDermott picks his starting XI which includes a returning player, a couple of new signings – and one major omission…
    DEAN HENDERSON

    12

THE youngster announced his departure from Sheffield United earlier this week on social media.

And, with him reportedly close to agreeing a new £100,000 a week contract with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, can we really see him being sent out on loan again?
David De Gea or more likely Sergio Romero could be sold to free space.
And that would mean a straight fight between Henderson and the Spaniard for the gloves on the opening day of the season.
    AARON WAN-BISSAKA

    12

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was criticsed by fans lat last season but is undisputed first-choice right-backCredit: AFP
THE right-back received some unnecessary stick towards the end of the season but impressed overall.

If he can improve in the final third and positionally out of possession, then there’s an exceptional talent there.
He will be desperate to start against his former team.
    HARRY MAGUIRE

    12

THE captain will rediscover his best form when he plays next to a defender who is more mobile.
Maguire has been a decent signing but looked weighed down with the price tag and captaincy.
He needs help back there, and if it arrives, we should start to see him at his best.
    DAYOT UPAMECANO

    12

THE RB Leipzig star, 21, would prove a wildcard signing and still one that is unlikely to happen.
But this is Manchester United, so why not?
The Frenchman is the outstanding young defender in Europe and everything United need.
He could form an outstanding partnership with Maguire. Heart over head, we live in hope.
    LUKE SHAW

    12

UNITED missed the former Southampton defender towards the end of the season.
Shaw turned into one of United’s most consistent and best performers since the turn of the year.
If he’s fit, he should start ahead of Williams.
    NEMANJA MATIC

    12

YOU realise how valuable Matic is when he isn’t there – like against Sevilla in the Europa League semi-final, for example.
United can’t strengthen in every position which is why, after a rest, Matic should come straight back in against Palace, ahead of Fred and Scott McTominay.
    PAUL POGBA

    12

WILL the Frenchman be starting after signing a new contract?
It’s difficult to see him moving on now, and with the squad showing signs of improvement, hopefully we see a fit and committed Pogba for the entire season.
    BRUNO FERNANDES

    12

Man Utd will win games so long as Bruno Fernandes is playing wellCredit: AFP
UNITED’S most-impressive attacking performer since his arrival in January, the Portuguese wizard will be eager to continue where he left off.
With a full season to show just what he can do, fans have every reason to be excited.
If Fernandes plays and plays well, United win.

    JADON SANCHO

    12

THE “will he, won’t he?” saga threatens to rumble on all summer.
But if United can conclude a deal, the 20-year-old forward goes straight into the attacking right position.
If Sancho had played in the semi-final against Sevilla, United would be preparing for a final against Inter Milan now.
    MASON GREENWOOD

    12

THE start of a new season and one which could end with the youngster representing England in a major tournament.
A lot has been said but such is his quality, he has to start – even if that is at the expense of Marcus Rashford.
If Sancho signs, Greenwood could move to his favoured position as central striker.
It’s been quite a 12 months for the Bradford-born boy.
    ANTHONY MARTIAL

    12

Anthony Martial may have to settle for a spot on the left-win next seasonCredit: Getty Images – Getty
HOW far can Martial go? How good can he become?
It feels like the penny has finally dropped but he may have to make do with a role wide left if Sancho arrives.
Sancho right, Greenwood central and Martial left will frighten any defence, anywhere.
And yes… that means no room for Marcus Rashford…

Diogo Dalot set for Man Utd exit with Everton and PSG interested in transfer for out-of-favour full-back

DIOGO DALOT is set to leave Manchester United this summer, according to reports.
And Everton and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in rescuing the full-back from the Old Trafford wilderness.

    1

Man Utd full-back Diogo Dalot could be on his way out with Everton and PSG interested
The Portuguese has struggled for game time with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw starting most games when fit.
And the 21-year-old is almost certain to pursue first-team opportunities elsewhere, according to Portuguese outlet O Jogo.
Despite the fact Marcos Rojo is on his way out, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to use Timoth Fosu-Mensah as back-up full-back next season so could do without Dalot.
Carlo Ancelotti is said to be a big fan of the versatile defender.

And Champions League finalists PSG are monitoring the situation and a move could see Dalot link up with former United team-mate Ander Herrera.
United are keen to boost funds for summer transfers with Dalot one of the players for sale.
Dalot joined United from Porto in a £19million deal under Jose Mourinho in 2018 but he has barely featured in Solskjaer’s line-up this season.
This season the full-back, who has battled with hip and groin injuries, has made 11 appearances across all competitions, netting once in an FA Cup tie against Tranmere Rovers.

And the player has made just four appearances in Premier League fixtures this term.

Everton’s right-back slot is currently occupied by Toffees fan favourite and club captain Seamus Coleman.
However, it is believed Ancelotti sees Dalot as a potential future successor to Coleman, who will be 32 later this year.
And it is believed his ability to play on both flanks could make him a useful back-up option to Lucas Digne at left-back.

Man Utd fixture hell revealed with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester derby and three away games following Champions League

MANCHESTER UNITED will have a torrid time trying to balance success in both the Premier League and Europe net season due to a horror fixture pile-up.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led his side back into the top four of the Premier League, securing a seat at Europe’s top table for next season.

MAN UTD’S LEAGUE FIXTURES AFTER EUROPEAN GAMES

    Sat 24 Oct – Chelsea (H)
    Sat 31 Oct – Arsenal (H)
    Sat 7 Nov – Everton (A)
    Sat 28 Nov – Southampton (A)
    Sat 5 Dec – West Ham (A)
    Sat 12 Dec – Man City (H)

Man Utd finished third in an exhilarating late run, sealed on the final day of the 2019-20 season.
But with tricky Champions League ties ahead during the autumn, their domestic form could suffer due to a string of tough games.
Between late October and early December, Man Utd will play their six Champions League group stage games.
But not only is that six extra matches to balance, they also have some incredibly tough Premier League games coming just days after those midweek clashes.

After their first Champions League group stage game, Man Utd will then host Chelsea just three or four days later on October 24.
A week later, United will welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford on the back of their second European run-out of the season.
Man Utd also face potentially tricky trips away to Everton, Southampton and West Ham immediately on the back of a Champions League tie.
And after their potentially-pivotal sixth and final group stage game in Europe, they must host rivals Manchester City for their derby showdown.

Solskjaer may need to add half a dozen new faces to his squad just to avoid fatigue setting in and being forced to sacrifice one tournament for the sake of the other.

The Premier League fixtures were announced on Thursday morning.
And it’s fair to say they weren’t all that kind on Man Utd – who must face Tottenham, Arsenal AND Chelsea in their first six matches.
Their first game of the season sees them welcome Crystal Palace after their game against Burnley was postponed due to United’s participation in Europe.

Man Utd told David Brooks transfer will cost £40million as Solskjaer identifies Jadon Sancho alternative

MANCHESTER UNITED have been told they must cough up a whopping £40million to land Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks.
They have identified Wales winger Brooks, 23, as a viable alternative to top target Jadon Sancho as talks with Borussia Dortmund continue to stall.

The Red Devils are long-term admirers of Brooks and are ready to press ahead with a move despite the former Sheffield United man missing most of last season through injury.
Bournemouth’s new manager Jason Tindall wants to keep Brooks and build his side’s bid for an instant return to the Premier League around him.
But the club’s Russian owner Maxim Demin would be willing to sell for the right price as he looks to reduce the financial impact of the Cherries’ relegation to the Championship.
Brooks cost Bournemouth £11.5m from Sheffield United in the summer of 2018 and enjoyed a stellar debut season in the Premier League, scoring seven goals in 30 games.

The Warrington-born wideman, who began his career at Manchester City, missed all but the final nine matches of last season due to an ankle injury.
Brooks is also attracting interest from Everton, Tottenham and former club United, who are owed money from his transfer.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could seek the opinion of former team-mate and Wales boss Ryan Giggs, who is known to be an admirer of Brooks.
Solskjaer spoke with Giggs before signing Welsh international Dan James from Swansea last summer.

Tindall insisted there would be no fire-sale this summer.
But the Cherries have already flogged Nathan Ake to Manchester City for £41m and agreed an £18.5m fee with Sheffield United for keeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Strike duo Callum Wilson and Joshua King are also both almost certain to leave while Jefferson Lerma wants to go back to Spain. More

Man Utd set to confirm transfer for Marc Jurado as Barcelona kid comments on Bruno Fernandes Instagram post

MANCHESTER UNITED look set to confirm the signing of Barcelona youngster Marc Jurado after his comment on Bruno Fernandes’ Instagram
United reportedly agreed a deal to sign the 16-year-old in May.

    2

Man Utd look set to announce the signing of Marc Jurado

    2

The 16-year-old commented on Bruno Fernandes’ Instagram as if he was a United player already
And the right-back is said to be waiting on international clearance.
Although United are yet to announce the signing, Jurado’s online activity suggests it is only a matter of time.
After United crashed out the Europa League to Sevilla on Sunday, Fernandes took to Instagram to share his disappointment.
He wrote: “Unfortunately our journey in the Europa League ends here.

“It wasn’t what we expected. We wanted to be in the final and fight for the trophy we so desired.
“Whilst we congratulate Sevilla for making it to the final, we still played well and we didn’t deserve to stop here.”
And writing as if he were already a United player, Jurado wrote: “We keep fighting.”

Spanish star Jurado has been at Barca’s famed La Masia academy for the past nine years.

However, he has decided to try his luck in England despite still being a teenager – just like Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Pique.
Barcelona were confident of keeping Jurado tied down to the club after seeing fellow prospects Ansu Fati and Ilaix Moriba commit to new deals.
However, United are now toasting the capture of the highly-rated prodigy as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to invest in youth and bring back the glory years to Old Trafford.
Jurado was born in Sabadell, some 18 miles from Barcelona, in Catalunya.

He showed promise playing for his local team, CFU Can Rull before he joined La Masia aged seven.
Jurado was considered an important part of Barcelona’s future, and after tying down Fati and Moriba to long-term contracts their hierarchy were hopeful Jurado would follow suit.
But, it is believed he feels he will have a better chance of first team football playing for United.

A modern full-back in the Spanish mould of Bellerin, Jurado does his best work going forward.
Blessed with bags of pace, he constantly looks to overlap and provide an attacking threat on the right-hand side.
He was one of the best players in Barcelona’s Cadet A team this season, and it was expected that he was going to promoted to their Juvenil B side.

Man Utd could offer Sergio Romero as part of Jack Grealish transfer swap with Aston Villa amid Chelsea interest

MANCHESTER UNITED will reportedly offer Sergio Romero as part of a swap deal for Jack Grealish.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with the Aston Villa star and may use their sub-goalie to try and sweeten the deal.

    2

United’s number two goalkeeper is also a Chelsea target
But the news will come as a blow to Chelsea who reportedly made Romero a top transfer target with Kepa Arrizabalaga set to leave.
Leeds and Everton are also said to be eyeing 33-year-old Romero.
But United want to use him as leverage in the Grealish deal, according to the Mail.
Argentine Romero is looking for a way out at Old Trafford and Villa could prove the perfect match.

SunSport exclusively revealed how Romero wants to hold showdown talks with United chiefs after Dean Henderson returned from his loan spell at Sheffield United.
Romero is now likely to be behind the English stopper and David De Gea in the United pecking order.
Despite being a key figure in United’s Europa League campaign, he was dropped for De Gea in the 2-1 semi-final defeat to Sevilla.
It is understood the club will demand around £5million for his services after snapping him up on a free from Sampdoria in July 2015.

Meanwhile Grealish will hold crunch talks over his future with Villa chief executive Christian Purslow on his return from holiday.
The star, 24, will return for pre-season training later this month after helping the club survive in the Premier League on the final day.

West Ham ‘ready to sell Issa Diop for £45m transfer fee’ and raise funds amid Man Utd interest in defender

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly received a boost in their pursuit of Issa Diop.
The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their defence this summer with a centre-half their main priority, potentially as a replacement for Victor Lindelof.

    1

That has led to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being linked with several names, including the West Ham star.
And now it appears they have been given the green light by the 23-year-old’s employers to make their move.
That is according to Sky Sports, who claims the Hammers are ready to cash in on the Frenchman.
Having saved the club from relegation, David Moyes is looking to rebuild the West Ham squad.

However, he needs to raise funds by selling first before any big-name arrivals.
Now it is claimed his side are “willing to listen to offers of £45m” for Diop.
United were first linked with a swoop a year ago but were put off the £75m valuation.
It is now believed that at least two other Premier League clubs want to sign him.

Diop is also looking to leave the London Stadium.
He earns less than half of most other first-team regulars at West Ham.
And the report states “a fresh start at a new club would bring a big increase on his £50,000 a week wages” is what he is looking for. More
