Man Utd transfer blow with ‘next Pirlo’ Sandro Tonali in ‘advanced talks’ with AC Milan

MANCHESTER UNITED target Sandro Tonali is reportedly in advanced talks with AC Milan in a huge blow to the Red Devils.
United have been heavily linked with the Brescia midfielder, who has been dubbed the “new Andrea Pirlo”.

    1

AC Milan are in advanced talks with Man Utd target Sandro Tonali
But they look set to be beaten to his signature by Serie A giants AC Milan.
The San Siro side have submitted a loan to buy bid with an £8.9million fee and a £17.8m purchase option, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
They are also said to have included a percentage of any future sell-on fee and are now in “advanced talks” with the player.
Inter Milan were previously linked with the 20-year-old.

But they have reportedly cooled their interest with Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal and Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele ahead of them in their priority list.
United were said to have made an approach for the £31m rated Tonali earlier this week.
However, Tonali’s agent is believed to be advising him to stay in Serie A, which would make Milan’s approach more appealing.
It also emerged yesterday Brescia owner – and former Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino said the future star was headed to the Rossoneri.

Tonali has been compared to Italian midfield legend Pirlo, but new Juventus boss – the actual Pirlo – believes the youngster could surpass him.
He said earlier this year: “It’s said that he may be my heir, but I don’t see many things in common.

“He is another type of player. He is much more complete both in the defensive phase and when he sets up.
“He is a mix between my characteristics and those of other players.
“He is the most promising of midfielders. He will surely become a great player.”

Everton boss Ancelotti plots shock transfer swoop for Man Utd goalkeeper Romero with rivals Leeds also keen

EVERTON boss Carlo Ancelotti is planning a shock swoop for Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero, according to reports.
The Toffees boss reportedly wants the Argentine to put pressure on erratic No1 Jordan Pickford.

    1

Everton are plotting a move for Man Utd keeper Sergio Romero
England international Pickford has made some costly errors this season.
And having reportedly failed to impress Ancelotti, the Italian is looking to bring in Romero as competition, according to the Mirror.
Dean Henderson has signed a new long-term deal at United and wants to fight for the No1 jersey.
Which leaves four keepers on the books at Old Trafford with David De Gea and Lee Grant also in the squad.

That has left Romero, 33, looking for a way out and Everton could prove the perfect match.
SunSport exclusively revealed how Romero wanted to hold showdown talks with United chiefs after Henderson returned from his loan spell at Sheffield United.
Romero is now likely to be behind the talented England stopper and De Gea in the United pecking order.
His potential availability is likely to spark a transfer scramble, with Leeds also ready to make their move.

But the Whites are also considering moving for Arsenal stopper Emi Martinez.
Despite being a key figure in United’s Europa League campaign, Romero was dropped for De Gea in the 2-1 Europa League semi-final defeat to Sevilla.
It is understood the club will demand around £5million for Romero’s services after snapping him up on a free from Sampdoria in July 2015.
Despite the mounting pressure on De Gea, he recently insisted he trusts himself to remain No1.

He said: “I trust in myself.
“I have shown my qualities all the years. So I will just stay available for the manager.
“I’m always ready to play and try to help the team, as I have always done.”

MANCHESTER UNITED have joined Liverpool in the race to land wantaway Bayern Munich star Thiago, according to reports.
And Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge expects to receive a bid for the £27million-rated midfielder in “the next few days”.

    2

Manchester United are ready to battle Liverpool for the transfer of ThiagoCredit: Getty Images – GettyJurgen Klopp’s Reds seem to be in pole position to sign Thiago.
But respected Norwegian reporter Fredrik A. N. Filtvedt, who works for Dagbladet TV, claims United are now in the mix.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already believed to be monitoring Ajax star Donny van de Beek ahead of a summer transfer.
Spain star Thiago, 29, has told Bayern he wants out after winning the Champions League this month.

Rummenigge confirmed: “We are expecting an offer from another club in the next few days.
“He told us that at the end of his career, he would like to try something new.”

David Moyes’ United came close to signing Thiago from Barcelona in 2013 but were unable to agree personal terms.
He has since won an astonishing SEVEN successive Bundesliga titles with Bayern.

Solskjaer faces a battle to sign Thiago as it is believed he is keen to play for Klopp’s Premier League champions.
And the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager is a big fan, having said last month: “Thiago Alcantara is a great player, but also a Bayern Munich player.
“That’s actually all there is to say. There’s nothing to say! I have no idea who will play for me next year, there is nothing to say at the moment.”

Meanwhile, Van de Beek was left out of Ajax’s squad to face Eintracht Frankfurt in a friendly yesterday amid speculation over his future.
The Dutch midfielder, 23, has been linked with moves to United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
He was close to agreeing a £47m move to Madrid before lockdown and is now said to be waiting on interest from Barcelona.

Man Utd ready to snatch Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka after missing out on Erling Haaland transfer in 2018

MANCHESTER UNITED are weighing up a move for Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.
The Zambia hotshot scored twice in Salzburg’s friendly 2-2 draw with Premier League champions Liverpool last week.

    1

Man Utd are considering a move for RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka
And United are jostling with the Reds and a number of other big clubs who have been tracking him.
Daka, 21, scored 24 goals in 31 league games as Salzburg won the Austrian title for the seventh year in a row, despite selling star striker Erling Haaland in January.
Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino were developed at the Austrian club and Daka is the latest off the production line.
But United would be serious rivals if Salzburg were prepared to sell Daka.

The young star would not be cheap, with a fee of £20million plus, as he signed a new contract last year that runs until 2024.
United also have other transfer targets, with hopes of bringing in Jadon Sancho not yet dead.
But on the other hand United know the cost of not swooping for young talent soon enough.
Old Trafford chiefs hesitated over a deal to sign Haaland from Norwegian side Molde for an initial fee of £2.7m in July 2018.

Salzburg took their chance and then sold Haaland for £18m to Dortmund, where he has developed into a player rated at £100m.
United were also in pole position to sign Moussa Dembele from Fulham in 2016.

The French striker moved to Celtic instead.
But the Premier League giants were nowhere to be seen when Dembele joined Lyon in 2018.
Now Dembele is back on their radar, but would cost £60m.

Man Utd target Donny van de Beek left out of Ajax squad with Barcelona and Real Madrid also in transfer hunt

MANCHESTER UNITED target Donny van de Beek was left out of Ajax’s squad because of transfer interest in the midfielder.
The Dutch side’s manager Erik ten Hag confirmed there were “developments” which meant he left the 23-year-old out of his team to play Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon.

    1

Man Utd target Donny van de Beek was left out of Ajax’s squad vs Eintracht Frankfurt because of transfer interest in him
Barcelona and Real Madrid are thought to be ready to rival United for the Dutch star and it now seems certain Van de Beek will leave Ajax this summer.
Speaking ahead of today’s match, Ten Hag said: “There are indeed developments that prevent him from being in the selection.
“We are looking at how that will end.”
Dutch international Van de Beek was close to agreeing a £47million transfer to Real Madrid before lockdown.

And Ajax director – and former Red Devils goalkeeper – Edwin van der Sar confirmed he could leave for the right price earlier this year.
Van de Beek is happy in Holland’s capital and is not fazed by the prospect of staying.
But offers are expected to come from the Premier League – where he would reportedly be happy to play.
United were heavily linked with the Dutchman in the January transfer window.

And despite having since signed Bruno Fernandes and welcomed Paul Pogba back into the fold, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could still move for the midfield ace.
Especially if Fred is on his way to Galatasaray who are reportedly preparing a loan to buy bid.
Van de Beek has two years left on his contract – which means Ajax can still demand a decent fee.
But it is not expected to be as much as the £47m pre-lockdown amount because of the financial impact of coronavirus on clubs.

Ajax want any deal wrapped up before their Eredivisie campaign kicks off against Sparta Rotterdam on September 13.
Arsenal and Manchester City are both in the market for centre midfielders.
But the Gunners will struggle without the offer of Champions League football.
Asked about his future in January, Van de Beek revealed he was in no hurry to leave the Amsterdam side.
He said: “It is not that I can or want to do something at the moment.

“I have said it before, and I will say it again: I will remain at Ajax this season. And maybe next season as well.
“These reports about Real Madrid or Man Utd are a good sign, but it is not important now.
“I’ve said I will stay at Ajax and I will do so for 100 per cent.”

Ex-Man Utd flop Memphis Depay issues come and get me plea as Everton and Barcelona plot move for the Lyon forward

EX-MANCHESTER UNITED winger Memphis Depay has issued a come get me plea amid Everton and Barcelona interest.
The Dutchman was integral in Lyon’s charge to last season’s Champions League semi-final and his form has attracted some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

    1

Memphis Depay has issued a come get me plea amid interest from Barcelona and Everton
Depay, 26, bagged 15 goals and two assists from 22 games for the Ligue 1 side in all competitions last season.
And he started this campaign with a bang – scoring a hat-trick in Lyon’s 4-1 thrashing of Dijon yesterday.
But after the game he cast doubt over his long term future with the club saying he is not sure if he will complete the season with the Ligue 1 side.

He said: “I do not see the future, I do not know if I will do the full season here.

“I have been here for four years, I became captain.
“After you have to look at your career, there is no Champions League. At the moment I don’t know.
“I’m really happy to have scored three goals today.
“It wasn’t the best game I’ve played but we start the season with three points, and that’s the most important thing.”

Ronald Koeman reportedly wants Depay to replace Luis Suarez at Barcelona.
The Catalan giants are said to be planning a £36million swoop.
Barca are set for an almighty overhaul this summer with more than a dozen players tipped to be sold.
And Koeman is keen to bring in Depay – who he worked with while Holland boss – to replace the Uruguayan.
Depay endured a horrendous spell at United between 2015 and 2017, scoring just twice in 33 Premier League games.
Lyon sporting director Juninho recently admitted he may have to sell his top stars, including Depay, Houssem Aouar and Moussa Dembele.
After Lyon beat Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final last season, Depay hit out at the Etihad outfit.
He took to Instagram and posted an image with the caption: “Manchester is still red.”

Galatasaray set to make shock transfer move for Man Utd midfielder Fred with loan and option to buy deal to be lodged

MANCHESTER UNITED are bracing themselves for a Galatasaray bid for Fred, according to reports.
The Turkish giants are reportedly preparing a loan deal with an option to buy.

    1

Galatasaray are preparing a move for Man Utd midfielder Fred
Brazilian midfielder Fred did not feature as much after United signed Bruno Fernandes in January.
And with Paul Pogba also welcome back into the fold, the Turks will try and swoop for the 27-year-old, according to Turkish outlet Fotomac.
Fatih Terim’s side are in desperate need of a midfielder after Southampton’s Mario Lemina and Fulham’s Jean Michael Seri returned to their clubs following loan spells with the Istanbul side.
However, despite Nemanja Matic starting most games ahead of him toward the end of the 2019/20 campaign, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still a big fan of his No17.

Fred managed 48 games in all competitions under the Norwegian last season.
And he even popped up with two goals and four assists from those games despite being a holding midfielder.
Fred may face further competition for places at Old Trafford next season.
Pogba and Fernandes are guaranteed starters with Scott McTominay and Matic battling him for the remaining slot in Solskjaer’s midfield three.

And after Matic announced his international retirement in order to focus on his club form, the veteran Serb might be an even harder obstacle to shift.
In other United transfers, the Red Devils received a blow with Brescia star Sandro Tonali reportedly snubbing Old Trafford to sign for AC Milan.
And Leicester are also said to have beaten them to the signing of Monaco star Fode Ballo-Toure.
Fred and his wife Monique Salum were pictured on a boat trip at Lake Windemere in early July.
Monique – who towers over the 5ft 7in star – shared a photograph of herself standing of the jetty of the £274-a-night Storrs Hall Hotel.

Alongside it she wrote: “Nature has perfections that show it is the image of God!”
She also posted a video of herself dancing on the boat alongside the midfielder to her TikTok page.

Man Utd could offer Henderson, Romero or Dalot in exchange to Aston Villa as part of Jack Grealish transfer deal

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly still chasing £75million-rated Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.
And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could offer various players to Villa as part of the transfer deal.

According to MailOnline, goakeeper Dean Henderson, who has only just signed a new five-year deal at Old Trafford, is one player who could move the other way.
But that will only be on loan, with Solskjaer expecting him to eventually succeed David De Gea at United.
Fellow custodian Sergio Romero and out-of-favour left-back Diogo Dalot are two other players who could be involved in the Grealish deal.

The 24-year-old still has three years left to run on his £65,000-per-week deal at Villa Park.

But he is open to making the move as he wants to play Champions League football.
He made six assists and scored eight goals in 33 Premier League games last season.
Grealish created more chances in the league than any other English player.
But the 24-year-old has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad again.

The Red Devils are yet to sign a single player ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is still their top target.
But a move for the 20-year-old looks increasingly unlikely after months of negotiations.
United had also been linked to Ben White – but the defender looks set to stay at Brighton.
