Man Utd weighing up £28m transfer for Valencia’s Uros Racic, dubbed the ‘new Nemanja Matic’

MANCHESTER UNITED are weighing up a move for Valencia’s Uros Racic.
The Serbian central midfielder has a £92million release clause in his contract.

But with Valencia struggling with a financial crisis, a fee of around £28m might be enough to secure Racic’s services.
    Racic is a box-to-box player – around 6ft 4ins and powerfully built.
He is renowned for his workrate and defensive power but also has good footwork and can shoot with either foot.
Aged just 22, he has failed to settle in Valencia after joining the La Liga outfit from Red Star.

He had loan spells last season with Famalicao in Portugal and Spanish outfit Tenerife.
United have been keeping tabs on Racic, whose idol is their midfield superstar Paul Pogba.
With doubts still remaining about the Frenchman’s Old Trafford future, Racic could be a reasonably-priced long-term replacement if the France ace does leave.

Should he arrive at United he will provide further competition to compatriot Nemanja Matic in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s crowded midfield.

SunSport have also exclusively revealed how the Red Devils are ready to make a loan offer for Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale.
The club are losing patience in their quest to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, as the German outfit continue to hold out for £108m.

Man Utd preparing Gareth Bale loan move as club lose patience in Jadon Sancho transfer pursuit

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to offer Gareth Bale a short-term deal after losing patience over Jadon Sancho.
United want to take the Real Madrid star on loan for a season initially but with the option to renegotiate that for a further year.

Bale, 31, has two years left on his current £650,000-a-week Real Madrid contract.
He would have to take a wage cut with United and Real may even have to pay part of it.
Real could demand an upfront transfer fee of £18.5million rather than a loan.
But United are now seriously looking into all options.

The news has left Sancho sweating as he was convinced his switch from Borussia Dortmund to Old Trafford would go through this summer or in the New Year window.
United had agreed personal terms with the England international.
They have also recently resolved the issue of the agents cut of the deal which had been a major stumbling block.
But they will still not match the £108m valuation the Bundesliga side have put on the player.

    BALE FORCE
United believe that is way too high for a 20-year-old in the current financial climate with all football clubs hit hard by the Covid-19 lockdown.
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s policy is to get in young hungry players to grow with United, he is not averse to signing a seasoned international like Bale while bringing another player through in that wide position.
Bale’s experience, particularly in Europe, is a big attraction with United now back in the Champions League which the Welsh international has won four times.
The arrival of Bale would end a long-running saga with United constantly linked to the player down the years.
Sir Alex Ferguson, David Moyes and Jose Mourinho all tried to sign him.
United boss Moyes and Executive Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward even had a helicopter waiting to bring him to Carrington on the day he flew out to sign for Real Madrid in 2013.
United meanwhile will not sign another defender until they can offload one of their own.
They are interested in Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon who would cost £23m.

But they currently have an excess in the defence department with Marcus Rojo, Diogo Dalot, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling still on their books but not wanted by manager Ole Solskjaer.
United are trying to negotiate the sale of Smalling to Roma, where he impressed on loan last season, but the Serie A club are yet to match the £20m asking price.
So far this summer United have made just one addition to their squad with the signing of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek for £39m.

Man Utd transfer blow in Jadon Sancho pursuit as Borussia Dortmund boss Favre insists ‘we need him, no question’

BORUSSIA DORTMUND boss Lucien Favre has revealed Jadon Sancho will be staying at the club to deal Manchester United a major blow in their quest to sign him.
The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to the Red Devils, but the Premier League side are refusing to pay his £108million asking price.

It is understood that the England international is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s No1 summer target, but BVB are confident they will be keeping hold of the winger.
According to the BBC, the Bundesliga outfit do not believe the winger will be leaving this window, despite personal terms said to have been agreed with United.
And Favre has now stated that Sancho is going nowhere as he spoke of his joy that he will be remaining a part of his squad.
He told Keystone-SDA via the Daily Mail: “We need him, no question. Everyone was happy that he stayed.

“We don’t need to talk long about its qualities – they are enormous
“He scores and sets up a lot of goals and can often make all the difference.
“But there are some details that Sancho needs to improve. That is quite normal for a 20-year-old.”
United have been linked with a host of other wingers should they fail to prise Sancho away from Germany.

A move for Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale could be seen as an attractive option with Los Blancos claimed to be open to selling him for £18.5m.
And Juventus forward Douglas Costa has also been put up for sale, with the 29-year-old free to leave the Old Lady.
Long-term target Ivan Perisic continues to be linked with United, with Inter Milan keen to offload him as he enters the final year of his contract.

Five ways Man Utd could line up this season with Gareth Bale as Solskjaer looks to snatch Real Madrid outcast for £18.5m

MANCHESTER UNITED have joined the race to sign Gareth Bale for just £18.5million, according to reports.
Real Madrid are desperate to get the golf-loving Welshman – and his £600,000-a-week wages – off their books.

Solskjaer would have plenty of attacking options at his disposal with Bale on the booksCredit: Reuters

And now United have joined Bale’s former club, Tottenham, in the hunt for a cut-price fee.
Should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer save Bale from his Bernabeu exile, he would have an array of attacking options and formations to pick from.
SunSport have taken a look at five potential Man Utd XIs if Bale heads to Old Trafford…
    4-2-3-1

How Man Utd could line-up with Bale in a 4-2-3-1
THIS was the preferred formation for Solskjaer for much of the second-half of last season thanks to the arrival of Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese star enjoyed a sensational start to life at Old Trafford, particularly in the No10 spot.
Flanked by Bale and Marcus Rashford with Anthony Martial ahead of him, United could be a real force going forward.
In midfield, new-boy Donny van de Beek would be joined by Paul Pogba in a tasty midfield pairing.
Dean Henderson is pushing David De Gea for a starting spot between the sticks and surely now deserves his shot in the United first-team.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is a certainty to start at right-back with Harry Maguire – who has been retained his captaincy for the season despite his alleged Mykonos melee – starting at centre-back.
Chris Smalling will fight Victor Lindelof for the remaining centre-back spot, with Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams rotating at left-back.

    4-3-3

How Man Utd could look in a 4-3-3 with Bale
THE modern classic, Solskjaer could roll with a 4-3-3 with Bale in the squad.
In this scenario, Bale would start at right-wing, with Rashford on the left and Martial through the middle, as seems to be Solskjaer’s preferred set-up.
In midfield, Fernandes would drop deeper and join Pogba and Van de Beek, with the Dutchman the deepest of the three.
Solskjaer could field the same back-four line as the 4-2-3-1 for the sake of defensive consistency.
    3-4-3 / 5-2-3

    Man Utd could line-up in a 3-4-3 / 5-2-3 with Bale
A VERSATILE formation made famous by Chelsea under Antonio Conte, Man Utd could use the 3-4-3 system.
In this XI, Smalling and Lindelof would likely start alongside Maguire, with Wan-Bissaka and Shaw acting as wing-backs.
In attack the formation is a strong, aggressive 3-4-3 with plenty of width, while in defence, there is a solid bank of five with two central midfielders for cover.
A duo of Van de Beek and Fernandes would be the most well-rounded, but Pogba of course would fight with both for a starting spot.
Up front, Rashford, Martial and Bale would keep their spots.
    4-4-2

Solskjaer could go old school 4-4-2 to accommodate Bale
ONCE the bread and butter, now the wonderfully retro… Solskjaer knows all about playing for Man Utd in a 4-4-2.
With the same back-four as the earlier formations, Solskjaer could depend on a well-drilled group.
Welsh duo Daniel James and Bale switching wings seamlessly could wreak havoc in attack, with Martial and Rashford up front.
Mason Greenwood would of course be vying for a spot in the front two and could even take James’ spot in a slightly deeper wing position.
But allowing Martial AND Rashford to both start in their favoured spot in the middle of the attacking line could reap plenty of rewards, like so many attacking duos throughout Man Utd history.
Van De Beek and Fernandes would likely take the two central midfield spots, with Pogba settling for the role of impact sub.

    3-5-2

How Man Utd could look in an attacking 3-5-2
CERTAINLY the most attacking of the lot, Solskjaer could field a 3-5-2 with Bale on the books.
With Maguire, Lindelof and Smalling in defence, United would have plenty of strength in the middle of the back-line.
But this formation would provide no defensive width, meaning attacking wide-men would need to track back – which could detract from the forward intent.
In midfield, a trio of Fernandes, Van de Beek and Pogba certinaly looks enticing on paper.
Out wide, Bale would be joined by one of Greenwood or James.
And, crucially, Rashford and Martial would both retain their central striking roles…

Kylian Mbappe sparks £400m transfer scramble between Man Utd, City, Liverpool and Real Madrid after PSG exit request

KYLIAN MBAPPE will spark a £400MILLION battle between the Manchester giants, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
The French superstar, 21, is understood to have given Paris Saint-Germain notice that he intends to leave at the end of this season.

    1

With two years left on his contract by then, PSG will expect to get £300m for him should they chose not to stand in the way.
Mbappe is already on £15m a year and will expect to see that huge salary rise by another £5m when he moves.
Any club that plans to sign him will want his signature on a five-year deal.

That will mean a total of £100m in wages plus almost double the £165m PSG paid Monaco for him in 2018.
City, United and Real will not baulk at such a staggering outlay, although Liverpool’s owners FSG will blink.
The Premier League champions may have spent £310m on a collection of stars between 2017 and 2018.
But over the last 12 months the American owners have brought in players worth just over £20m and over the same time scale have made a net profit on deals of £32m.

Going for Mbappe would require the sale of one of their Fab three of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
Senegalese frontman Mane would be the most likely to go if he asked for a move and has so far ignored Liverpool’s effort to get him to extend his stay for two years beyond 2023.
Real would love to have him – as they would Mbappe – and he would command a fee of £150m.
City came close to landing world No 1 Lionel Messi before he withdrew plans to leave Barcelona last month.

Kylian Mbappe is the fastest footballer in the world
They were prepared to pay him £600,000 a week and with their unlimited resources would see Mbappe as another way of elevating their standing in world football.
Like them United would believe that no matter the outlay, Mbappe’s presence would only increase their global pull and had bucket – loads of more corporate cash.
What is in Liverpool’s favour is Mbappe’s connection with boss Jurgen Klopp.
The Anfield boss spent several hours trying to convince him to sign for Liverpool before he opted for PSG.
The German said: “I love him, to be honest. What a player, what a player – he is and a nice lad as well, so he’s a really good kid.”
Mbappe, who is understood to have been “charmed” by Klopp, declared Liverpool as a “machine” in May as they powered their way to the club’s first top flight title in 30 years.
Yet it is understood he also likes the idea of playing at Old Trafford.

Pep Guardiola, having lost out on Messi, will be certain to want to have a conversation with him – as will Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.
Real believe they had signed him before his switch to PSG and are certain to be jostling in the queue this time around.
But this time alongside a trio of heavy-hitting English clubs with the only thing likely to affect such a potential huge spend to get him to the Premier League how deep the coronavirus pandemic bites into their finances. More

Man Utd boost in Sergio Reguilon transfer chase as Sevilla close in on Marcus Acuna from Sporting as replacement

MANCHESTER UNITED’S pursuit of Sergio Reguilon has been given a huge boost with Sevilla reportedly closing in on a replacement left-back.
Sporting Lisbon’s Marcos Acuna is said to be in advanced talks with the LaLiga side who appear to have given up on the chance of signing Reguilon from Real Madrid permanently.

Sevilla are closing in on Sporting Lisbon left-back Marcos Acuna as a replacement

United are said to be plotting a move for the £27million rated 23-year-old who spent last season on loan at Sevilla from Real.
And he would “love” to move to Old Trafford, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
With Sevilla close to landing 28-year-old Argentine Acuna – according to Portuguese outlet A Bola – there is now “no chance” of Reguilon going back on a permanent basis.
However United are said to be unwilling to pay Real Madrid’s £27.7m asking price.

The defender is free to leave the Bernabeu this summer after his one-season loan.
And Zinedine Zidane does not think he is ready for a place in his squad.
Reguilon is behind Ferland Mendy and Marcelo in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.
That is despite his hugely impressive campaign where he helped Sevilla to Europa League glory.

Although Real Madrid value him at £27m, they would reportedly be willing to let him leave for around £22m.
Chelsea were interested at one stage but instead opted for Leicester’s Ben Chilwell in a £50m deal.
Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bolster his options at left-back and provide competition for places.
Luke Shaw remains injury prone while Brandon Williams is regarded as one for the future after his breakthrough campaign.
United are likely to face competition across Europe with Juventus and Inter Milan interested.

Man Utd defender Chris Smalling set to complete permanent Roma transfer after impressive loan spell

CHRIS SMALLING looks set to complete a permanent transfer to Roma as he continues to train away from the rest of the Manchester United squad.
The 30-year-old England defender spent a successful season on-loan with the Italians and wants to return this term.

    1

The two clubs have been haggling over a transfer fee, with the Red Devils valuing the ex-Fulham man between £15million and £20m.
He is currently back in pre-season but The Telegraph claims he is working away from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team squad.
Today’s report states he was not present at Carrington for either Tuesday or Wednesday’s sessions as he remains hopeful he can secure his exit.
Both Smalling and his representatives are continuing to negotiate the terms of his departure from Old Trafford.

He did return to the club’s training HQ today, but he did a double session by himself.
Smalling is also expected to do the same tomorrow.
Despite making over 300 appearances for United, he was deemed surplus to requirements by Solskjaer a year ago.
That led to a switch to Serie A, where he became a regular for Roma and a big fan favourite.

His United contract does not expire until 2022 but he is desperate for them to reach an agreement with United for him to leave.
Solskjaer is attempting to strengthen his team by bolstering his defence before next month’s transfer deadline.
But the lack of a new centre-half is no doubt delaying Smalling’s permanent exit.
