Jadon Sancho believes he WILL be Man Utd star before transfer window shuts as he asks advisors to ‘pull out all stops’

JADON SANCHO believes he WILL be a Manchester United player before the transfer window closes on Monday.
The England winger, 20, wants his top advisors to “pull out all the stops” to secure his move to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho was left out of the Dortmund squad for the German Super Cup clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is growing increasingly confident he can land his No1 target before the deadline.
Sources say Dortmund are resigned to losing the player, despite publicly being confident he will stick around.
One said: “He wants this deal done.

“He’s told his agent and various advisors to do all they can to make it happen.
    “They are pushing for him.”
Dortmund are said to want a minimum of £80million up front, plus add-ons.
Sources close to the long-running transfer saga reckon it could be completed for £95m, lower than Dortmund’s £108m asking price.

Frantic negotiations behind-the-scenes are continuing to complete the deal in time before the transfer window closes on Monday.
One source said: “There’s a bit of a stand off going on… it’s a case of who blinks first.
“Will United up the offer or will Dortmund accept a lower bid?
“The Red Devils are considering making a final bid for the young star on Wednesday in the hope of forcing the deal across the line.

Sancho’s arrival at Old Trafford would pave the way for Daniel James to join Leeds, either on a permanent deal or on loan until the end of the season.

Most expensive flop XI in Premier League history as £71m Kepa nears Chelsea loan exit – including Sanchez and Torres

KEPA ARRIZABALAGA looks set to end his nightmare spell at Chelsea.
SunSport revealed that the Blues are ready to send the gaffe-prone keeper out on loan – after landing Edouard Mendy as their new first-choice.

Alexis Sanchez makes our most-expensive PL flop XI

And while Chelsea insisted no decision has yet been taken on Kepa’s future, it is understood that Frank Lampard will assent to the Spaniard leaving on loan before Monday’s deadline.
Kepa, 25, has struggled to live up to the world record £71million fee Chelsea paid Athletic Bilbao to land him as Thibaut Courtois’ replacement in 2018.
With his Blues nightmare almost over, we take a look at the most-expensive flops in Premier League history…
    GOALKEEPER – Kepa Arrizabalaga

    11

Arrizabalaga, the world’s most-expensive goalkeeper, is set to be flogged cheaply this summerCredit: Reuters
THE Spaniard arrived at Chelsea as the most expensive goalkeeper in history at £71.6m.

But just under two years later, Frank Lampard is desperately trying to sell Kepa after a string of high-profile blunders.
He fell out of favour last term after a series of high-profile errors before the lockdown.
Chelsea spent much of the summer seeking to land Mendy and any chance of Kepa keeping his position as first choice evaporated with his performances in the club’s opening two league games.
He was badly at fault for Brighton’s goal in the 3-1 defeat at the Amex before a disastrous blunder in the 2-0 loss to Liverpool.

The former Athletic Bilbao keeper, who is also Chelsea’s second-highest earner at £150,000 a week, will now be allowed to leave on loan.
    CENTRE-BACK – Winston Bogarde

    11

IT’S not often a free transfer can be labelled an expensive mistake…
But Bogarde arrived at Chelsea from Barcelona with a reputation – and the Blues were happy to give the Dutchman £40,000 a week – a very tidy sum at the turn of the century.
But Bogarde was happy to rot on the bench and cash in his pay-packets to wind down his career, playing just 11 times in his four years at the club,.
All in all, the defender pocketed over £8m from Chelsea.
    CENTRE-BACK – Eliaquim Mangala

    11

THE French centre-half cost Man City a staggering £1m per game.
Mangala signed for the club in a £43.5m deal – while earning a further £12.5m in wages.
All in all, City played £56m for the flop… who played just 57 times at the Etihad club before being sold.
City recouped just £9m of that in selling him to Valencia.
    CENTRE-BACK – Phil Jones

    11

SIR ALEX FERGUSON had a reputation for getting the best out of his players, while being an excellent judge of character.
However, Fergie once claimed Jones wcould become Man Utd’s greatest-ever star…
United splashed nearly £20m on the former Blackburn star – a lot of cash for 2011.
Since then, Jones has been on a number of big-money contracts, now worth £75,000 a week.
In nearly a decade, the defender has played just 165 times in the Premier League.
    CENTRE-MID – Juan Sebastian Veron

    11

VERON became the most-expensive player in Premier League history when he completed his £28.1m move to Man Utd in 2001.
He signed a five-year contract but failed to impress on a consistent enough basis despite his rumoured £90,000 a week wages – astronomical for the turn of the century – and was sold to Chelsea two years later.
The Blues paid Veron similarly, albeit marginally less, after his £15m move in 2003.
The Argentine – a superstar before heading to England – managed just seven Premier League appearances at Stamford Bridge in four years.
Some reports claimed Chelsea were still contributing to Veron’s wages until 2011, four years after he left, after doing whatever they could to encourage clubs to sign him.
    CENTRE-MID – Alberto Aquilani

LIVERPOOL spent £18m to sign the man they hoped would replace Xabi Alonso.
However, the Italian – who raked in over £100,000 a week – played just 18 times in the league for the Reds and was shipped out on loan to Juventus and AC Milan.
Liverpool eventually managed to sell him – but only recouped a measly £2m.
    CENTRE-MID – Danny Drinkwater

    11

PART of Leicester’s historic 2015-16 Premier League-winning side, Drinkwater’s hot form attracted the attention of Chelsea.
The Blues paid a staggering £34m for the English midfielder who’s played just 12 times in the Premier League since his 2017 move.
Drinkwater has been loaned to Burnley and Aston Villa, where his career has been plagued by off-field indiscretions.
All the while, he has been pocketing £100,000 a week at Stamford Bridge and is now valued at a mere £4m but Chelsea have struggled to find any suitors.
    RIGHT-WING – Angel Di Maria

    11

THE Argentine superstar joined Man Utd for £59.7m in 2014 and was expected to help usher in a new era with the club struggling after Fergie’s retirement.
But he lasted just one season before being sold to Paris Saint-Germain – where he has been able to recapture his top form.
Not only did he struggle mightily in his sole season, he cost United an eye-watering £280,000 a week.

    LEFT-WING – Alexis Sanchez

    11

FOR a free signing, Sanchez sure has been expensive…
United were happy to splash £505,000 a week on the Chilean, believing he was the missing piece in their side.
But two-and-a-half-years and just THREE Premier League goals later, Sanchez joined Inter Milan on a permanent deal.
And at a cost £20m per Prem goal, it’s easy to see why…
    STRIKER – Fernando Torres

    11

Fernando Torres to Chelsea will go down as one of the worst signings everCredit: AFP
WHEN a one-time star player is struggling with injuries and looks to have lost a step, what do you do?
Pay £50m for him, according to Chelsea.
The Blues’ defined the term “panic buy” when they brought in Torres from Liverpool in January 2011.
In four years, the Spaniard scored just 20 Premier League goals in 110 games.
Even without having fronted-up £50m, the £150,000 a week wages sounds bad with that sort of goalscoring return.
    STRIKER – Andriy Shevchenko

    11

THERE’S something of a theme in this XI, with a host of Chelsea stars on the list thanks to Roman Abramovich’s money following his 2003 takeover.
Shevchenko was an undoubted star at AC Milan but flopped in England after his £30.8m move to the Blues in 2005.
The Ukrainian striker scored just nine times in three years in the Premier League – and earned around £190,000 a week for his work.

Man Utd legend Patrice Evra accuses French Football Federation of racism in blistering attack

PATRICE EVRA has sensationally accused the French Football Federation of racism as he took aim at president Noel Le Graet.
The Manchester United legend has been left furious by comments made by the 78-year-old where he claimed that racism ‘does not exist in football’.

Le Graet was commenting on the alleged racist remarks from Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez towards Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar earlier this month.
But instead of condemning racism, he instead played down the issue of discrimination in football.
In an interview with BFM Business, he said: “When a black player scores a goal, the whole stadium is standing.
“The racist phenomenon in sport, and in football in particular, does not exist or hardly exists.”

And Evra has hit back at La Graet’s remarks, as he spoke of racism within French Football in an eight-minute long video that he shared on Instagram.
He said: “Le Graet must be fired, because he really screwed up.
“It’s serious. I have no words.”
Evra then lifted the lid on the reaction the black players in the French squad received at Clairefontaine following France’s poor showing at the 2010 World Cup.

    2

The 39-year-old stated: “I am obliged to reply to Noel Le Graet, I’m obliged to speak of the Chateau.
“You know very well what happens there, how many racist letters do we receive?
“One said ‘Didier (Deschamps) take your monkeys and go to Africa’ how many messages like that do we receive?
“Yet, we hide them, I have seen some. We have even received boxes full of faeces.”
Evra then went on to discuss how the FFF used to swap black and white players around when a politician visited Clairefontaine.
He added: “We have assigned places to eat, but every time the president or the politicians came, everything changed.

One said ‘Didier (Deschamps) take your monkeys and go to Africa'”
    Patrice Evra

“I was sitting there and all of a sudden they would put me at the end of the table, where normally Mamadou Sakho and Bacary Sagna were, we had to change.
“They put Hugo Lloris, Laurent Koscielny and the president in the middle, but we knew they were the rules of the game.
“When the president wanted a photo it was better to be with Lloris and Koscielny instead of Sakho or Sagna.”

Man Utd wonderkid Joe Hugill, 16, scores winning penalty in shootout win for Under-21s vs Rochdale in EFL Trophy

MANCHESTER UNITED wonderkid Joe Hugill, 16, scored the winning penalty in the Under-21s’ shootout win against Rochdale in the EFL Trophy.
After thumping Salford 6-0 in their previous game in the competition, United’s youngsters were expecting a tougher challenge against League One side Rochdale.

Incredibly, over half of Under-21s boss Neil Wood’s team would be eligible for the Under-18s.
And the young XI went up against Rochdale’s first team hoping for another win.
With Hugill leading the line aged just 16, United looked lively, but failed to score as the game finished 0-0 after 90 minutes.
Hugill himself had smashed a rocket of a shot into the post in just the seventh minute.

Hannibal Mejbri also looked impressive and nearly scored from a free-kick, but for a strong save from Rochdale stopper Jay Lynch.

The game went to a shootout – with Mastny again the hero, denying Harrison Hopper’s attempt to earn his side a bonus point.
Seconds before Mastny’s save, Hugill scored the first penalty of sudden death to set up the victory.

Man Utd transfer target Jadon Sancho staying at Dortmund for one more year, says Reus as he likens him to Ronaldo

MANCHESTER UNITED have been dealt a major blow, with Marco Reus confirming Jadon Sancho will STAY at Borussia Dortmund for one more year.
United are set to launch a last-minute bid for the England ace – and are confident Dortmund will be forced to accept a cut-price fee.

The Red Devils missed out on Sancho, 20, after failing to negotiate a fee before Borussia Dortmund’s August 10 deadline.
Despite that, Man Utd have remained confident they will land their man before the transfer window closes on October 6.
Time and time again during the current transfer windows, Dortmund chiefs have stated the player would NOT be leaving.
And it appears now the Dortmund squad have been told Sancho will officially be staying, with Reus – captain of the Bundesliga giants – all-but confirming Sancho WILL stay for 2020-21.

Reus told Sky Germany: “For us players, that was great news.
“We all were happy that he will be with us for one more year because he delivers assists and goals, so we get points.”
Many have tipped Sancho to have as strong a career as the likes of Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
But Reus has urged fans to temper their expectations – while admitting he has the “confidence and quality” to reach the very top.

Reus claimed: “Whether he gets as big as [Lionel] Messi or [Cristiano] Ronaldo, we will see.
“He needs time, experience and it will be important how he manages the times when things don’t go so well.
“But he has the confidence and the quality.”

Man Utd ‘in talks to sign Cavani on free transfer and Luka Jovic on loan’ as they eye big-name player to bolster attack

MANCHESTER UNITED are in talks to sign Edinson Cavani on a free transfer – while adding Luka Jovic on loan in an incredible double-swoop, according to reports.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen enough just two games into the Premier League season and is itching to bolster his attack, it seems.

Despite his defence looking shaky, Solskjaer appears dead-set on fighting fire with fire and adding some huge-name strikers to his squad.
The United boss even admitted he had no interest in adding to his defensive ranks this summer, much to fans’ frustration.
Now, AS claim Man Utd are already in talks with Cavani’s brother – also his agent – after he was released by Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.
Cavani, 33, was once on the brink of a move to Atletico Madrid – but the move failed to materialise, with the Spaniards moving for Luis Suarez instead.

A proposed move to Benfica also appeared to collapse.
Despite boasting attacking talent such as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Odion Ighalo and Mason Greenwood, Solskjaer has made a new striker his top priority.
And of his options, Cavani is the No1 target, according to reports in Spain.
But should United fail to land the Uruguayan legend, they will instead look to Real Madrid flop Jovic.

The Serbian striker, 22, only joined Los Blancos las summer but struggled mightily – scoring just twice in 18 LaLiga games.
Zinedine Zidane has now confessed he will look to offload Jovic on loan – with the player himself itching to get away from the Bernabeu.
Roma, Inter Milan and AC Milan are thought to be Jovic’s preferred destinations.
However, Madrid are now claimed to be seriously considering United’s sudden interest.

Man Utd confident of Jadon Sancho transfer as Solskjaer ‘tells Dortmund star the deal will be done’

MANCHESTER UNITED reportedly remain confident of prising Jadon Sancho away from Borussia Dortmund before the window slams shut on Monday.
The 20-year-old is known to be the Red Devils’ No1 transfer target, but they have failed to make a breakthrough with BVB in negotiations.

It is understood that the Bundesliga side are holding out for £108million – an asking price United are refusing to match.
SunSport reported on Monday how United were preparing a £90m bid with just £65m of it paid upfront.
Despite United’s unwillingness to fork out £108m, it’s claimed that the club still expect to secure the England international’s services.
According to Dagbladet via AS, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken to Sancho and told him he expects the move to soon be finalised.

The same news outlet claimed earlier this month how Solskjaer is in regular contact with the winger, where he has assured him a deal is close.
Should Sancho link up with United, Daniel James will be allowed to join Leeds on loan.
Dortmund’s head of football Sebastian Kehl has poured cold water on United’s pursuit of the player, as he insisted Sancho will not be leaving.
He said: “He [Jadon Sancho] is our player, and he will stay.

“It was an important statement from the club because we have a certain responsibility. Without Jadon this team is weaker.”
And striker Erling Haaland is also confident his team-mate will stay, as he said: “I think Sancho has been very good throughout the whole pre-season.
“He will be an important player for us this season.”

Roy Keane slams ‘worrying’ Man Utd, tells Solskjaer the ‘honeymoon is over’ and warns transfers MUST be made this week

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Roy Keane has warned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his ‘honeymoon period is over’ and urged the club to bring in new players.
Keane has not been impressed by United’s start to the season, that began with a 3-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils did manage to defeat Brighton 3-2 at the weekend with a 100th minute winner.
But it was the luckiest of wins with the Seagulls hitting the woodwork five times and dominating the game.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane says there are ‘worrying signs’ already at the club.
He said: “The honeymoon is over for Ole, he needs to win a trophy this season.

“Particularly with the performances over the last week, the pressure will start to mount.”
While the state of United’s defending has come in for huge criticism, Keane believes many of the players are not taking their chances at the other end.
He added: “You’d expect to a little bit better against Palace. Everyone is focussing on defensively how poor they have been.

“But for the whole team, it’s not been good enough, especially the amount of chances they are giving up.”

Keane believes the remit for Solskjaer will be to win a trophy and to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City in the top.
And to do that, he wants to see some more faces coming in at Old Trafford.
The 49-year-old added: “If they don’t invest in the next week, it’s tough days ahead for Manchester United.”
The club have been linked all summer with Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
