Man Utd star Marcus Rashford’s amazing end-of-school throwback pic with three pals who all went on to become footballers

MANCHESTER UNITED star Marcus Rashford has posted a end-of-school throwback photo alongside three other boys who also became pro footballers.
Rashford attended Ashton on Mersey School as a teenager, and the three others pictured, like him, all came through United’s academy.

But only ONE of them are still at the club now and can call school dinners hero Rashford a team-mate.
Taken around seven years ago, Rashford, now 23, is crouching down at the front of the snap he shared on Instagram.
On the right is his United mate Axel Tuanzebe, looking dapper in his claret blazer.
The 23-year-old defender made his competitive debut in an FA Cup game against Wigan Athletic in January 2017.

He then spent time on loan at Aston Villa, but this season has been a part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-team squad.
On the left is now-Burnley player Jimmy Dunne.
The 23-year-old left United for The Clarets in 2016 but has only made two senior appearances.
He has spent time on loan at Barrow, Accrington, Hearts, Sunderland and Fleetwood.

And finally on the left is Tosin Kehinde.
Despite being offered a new deal at United, Kehinde opted to leave to join Portuguese side Feirense.
But he failed to make an appearance for them, and the 22-year-old is now turning out for Randers FC in the Danish league.

Meanwhile, South Coast neighbours Bournemouth and Southampton were drawn together.
Chelsea host Sheffield United after sneaking past Barnsley immediately after the draw was undertaken.
All FA Cup quarter-final games will be played over the weekend of March 20.
Man Utd booked their spot in the last-eight after edging past West Ham thanks to an extra-time winner from Scott McTominay.

Kelechi Iheanacho scored a last-gasp winner as Leicester stunned Brighton to make it into the pot for Thursday night’s draw.
And the two high-flying Premier League giants will now do battle at the King Power Stadium.
Man City – fresh from ties against lower league sides Swansea and Cheltenham – will face their first real test.
They take on an Everton side fresh from a 5-4 extra-time win over Tottenham in the fifth round.

Southampton beat Wolves 2-0 shortly before the draw as they were paired with Bournemouth – who beat Burnley 2-0 earlier in the week.
Chelsea will go toe-to-toe with Sheffield United after Tammy Abraham’s tap-in ensured the Blues didn’t lose to Barnsley in the FA Cup for a second time, having famously slumped to defeat at Stamford Bridge in 2008.

Man Utd star Paul Pogba’s agent Raiola refuses to talk about Juventus transfer as ‘if I speak, someone gets offended’

MINO RAIOLA has refused to talk about Paul Pogba’s potential summer move to Juventus saying: “If I speak, someone gets offended.”
World Cup winner Pogba, 27, has just 18 months left to run on his current contract at Manchester United and has been linked with a move away for close to two years.

Super agent Mino Raiola has refused to discuss Paul Pogba’s potential summer move back to Juventus

Former club Juventus have emerged as the front-runners to sign the player they sold for a then-world-record £89million in 2016.
But Raiola remaining tight-lipped on Pogba’s future, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
According to Romano, Raiola said: “Paul Pogba to Juventus?
“I can’t speak about Pogba because people are nervous, they don’t sleep at night.

“I have to work quietly… if I speak, someone gets offended.”
In December 2020, Raiola claimed Pogba wants to leave the Red Devils for pastures new.
And he later admitted Pogba was more likely to leave in the summer as it’s hard to do ‘top deals’ in January.
Reports have claimed Juventus held off signing a new midfielder in January in order to help finance a push for Pogba in July.

Real Madrid have also been linked with Pogba in recent years.
However, their current financial situation due to the coronavirus pandemic has seen them focus only on their top targets.
Los Blancos are desperate to sign Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga this year, before launching a cut-price swoop for Erling Haaland in 2022.
That means Juventus appear to be leading a one-horse race for Pogba in the next transfer window.
Pogba sparked into life early in 2021, only for an injury in Man Utd’s 3-3 draw with Everton to see him ruled out for up to a month.

Man Utd have ‘no more chance’ to sign Dayot Upamecano but are linked with stunning transfer for Sergio Ramos or Varane

MANCHESTER UNITED have ‘no chance’ of signing Dayot Upamecano, according to reports in Germany.
The Red Devils are itching to bring in a new defensive partner for Harry Maguire, with Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly failing to prove they’re worthy of a place in a title-chasing side.

United joined Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the race to sign RB Leipzig superstar Upamecano earlier this season.
But BILD’s head of football, Christian Falk, has confirmed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Co are NOT in the running.
Falk tweeted: “True, Man Utd have no more chance for a transfer of Dayot Upamecano.”
Man Utd will now turn their attentions to their other defensive targets.

Among the biggest names, United are shock contenders in the running for Real Madrid duo Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.
Ramos, 34, is believed to be keen on a move to Old Trafford after a chat with his former team-mate – and United legend – David Beckham.
The Real Madrid captain’s deal expires at the end of the season and he is already free to sign a pre-contract agreement with non-Spanish clubs.
Ramos wanted a two-year contract extension but, as per club policy, Los Blancos were initially unwilling to above one additional year, given his age.

After finally caving, Real Madrid offered the Spain legend a two-year deal.
But Ramos rejected it after Los Blancos asked him to take a ten per cent pay cut.
The Real legend still expects to earn more than £200,000 a week wherever he moves, with United one of the few clubs able to cough up that sum.
Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running for Ramos, although the player is still most likely to remain at the Bernabeu beyond this season.
Meanwhile, Ramos’ centre-back partner Varane, 27, has entered the final 18 months of his contract, with the club willing to cash-in to the tune of £44million.
United are believed to be among the clubs in the hunt for the France superstar, but face competition from Chelsea, Juventus and PSG.
The Red Devils have been interested in Varane since 2019 when he first considered walking away from the Bernabeu.
Zinedine Zidane’s return convinced him to stay then, but with the Real boss under-pressure himself, the France legend’s presence may not be a factor this time.

Bruno Fernandes caught on pitchside mic joking with Man Utd pal McTominay ‘the ball was for me, motherf***er’ after goal

MANCHESTER UNITED star Bruno Fernandes joked with Scott McTominay that the ‘the ball was for me, motherf***er’ after the Scottish midfielder’s winner against West Ham.
McTominay expertly slammed home Marcus Rashford’s assist in the seventh minute of extra-time in the FA Cup fifth round clash.

Marcus Rashford played a part in McTominay’s ‘brilliant’ goal

Bruno Fernandes joked that the assist was meant for him

But Fernandes, often used to taking the glory this season, joked that it should have been him heralded as the match-winner.
As the players ran towards a delighted McTominay, Rashford was heard saying ‘brilliant’ while Fernandes said: “Hey, the ball was for me motherf***er.”
The clip has been shared on TikTok and Twitter by the United Zone fan account.
And United fans enjoyed seeing it, with Eric Mawlong writing ‘love this’, Shashank Choudhary posting ‘what a mad man, Cristiano mentality’ and Stephen Greenwood adding ‘this man, brilliant’.

McTominay came on as a 73rd minute sub as to add some much needed energy to a tiring team.
In all likelihood the ball would have ran on through to Fernandes.
But McTominay showed the killer instinct just like Fernandes to bury it for his seventh goal of the season.
And it added further gloss to what has been a brilliant season so far for the 24-year-old Scot.

He is now one of the first name’s on the teamsheet for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has started to chip in with goals too.
McTominay’s seven goal-haul this season is more than Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek, Fred and Nemanja Matic COMBINED.
And Solskjaer revealed McTominay, who was sporting a lockdown haircut, enjoys being in the box thanks to playing as a striker in his youth.
Following his side’s 1-0 win, he said: “Scott used to be a striker and I think he finishes with authority.
“You see that he doesn’t mind being in those positions. He just smashed the ball into the net.”

Marcus Rashford joins Man Utd greats Best, Giggs and Whiteside as club’s fourth-youngest player to 250 games

MARCUS RASHFORD has become the fourth-youngest player to reach 250 career games for Manchester United, behind three Old Trafford legends.
The England star played the full 120 minutes as United snatched an extra-time win over West Ham in the FA Cup fifth-round at Old Trafford.

Norman Whiteside is still the youngest player to reach the milestoneCredit: Getty – Contributor

In taking to the pitch, Rashford became the fourth-youngest Red Devils star to the impressive milestone – aged just 23 years and 101 days.
Only Norman Whiteside, George Best and Ryan Giggs got to 250 games at a younger age.
Whiteside achieved the feat aged 22 years and 192 days, but would go on to play just 28 more games before joining Everton.
Best hit the milestone at 22 years and 199 – just one week later than his fellow Northern Irishman.

The legendary winger went on to play 470 times for United, winning two titles and the 1968 European Cup during his illustrious career.
And Giggs – who tallied a staggering 963 games and 23 major trophies, 13 Premier League crowns and two Champions League trophies, during his career – reached 250 games aged 22 years and 301 days.
Rashford marginally beat Sammy McIlroy (23 years and 158 days) to fourth place.

The England ace is now firmly focused on breaking into United’s top ten scorers having overtaken Eric Cantona last week.

Rashford scored in the 9-0 annihilation of Southampton to scored his 83rd goal for the club.
After the win, the forward tweeted: “Special moment for me as a boyhood United fan, passing King Eric’s record.
“Loved it out there tonight – great team performance.”
Rashford is now one ahead of Cantona’s tally, but he still has some way to go to surpass Wayne Rooney’s record of 253 goals.
The next man to overtake is David Beckham, who scored 85 times for the Red Devils.
Rashford needs to get to 155 to go level with Paul Scholes and break into the club’s top ten and must hunt down a host of legends including Sir Bobby Charlton in order to get to Rooney’s tally.

Man Utd 1 West Ham 0 (AET): Supersub Scott McTominay fires Solskjaer and Co into FA Cup quarter-final with sweet strike

SCOTT MCTOMINAY proved a cut above the rest as he fired Manchester United into the last eight of the FA Cup.
Sporting a do it yourself lockdown haircut the 24-year-old Scottish international pounced with a drilled first-time effort in the seventh minute of extra time.

He spoke recently about his desperation to experience being part of a Manchester United team that wins silverware.
Thanks to him they are now a step closer.
He was captain and match winner with the only goal in the third round against Watford and part of the midfield engine room that wore down Liverpool in round four.
He had actually been rested for last night but came on as a 73rd minute sub as to add some much needed energy to a tiring team.

⚽ Read our Man United live blog for the latest news from Old Trafford
Then in the 97th minute he struck.
West Ham twice failed to clear their lines with headers allowing Marcus Rashford to touch off a loose ball to McTominay to fire home from ten yards.
It was his third in as many games and scoring one from distance in the 9-0 win over Southampton and a header that should have sealed victory against Everton.

For both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford this was their 250th appearance in a Manchester United shirt.

For Rashford, at 23 years and 101 days, he became the fourth-youngest player in the club’s history to reach that mark behind Norman Whiteside, George Best and Ryan Giggs.
Early on they both look like they wanted to mark the occasion in style as well for they were on their game right from the first whistle charging at the visitors.
Martial would have the first decent effort of the game which would also lead to an unfortunate injury blow for West Ham.
Of the six changes manager Solskjaer made to his team one was at left back with Alex Telles coming for Luke Shaw who has been enjoying the best period of his United career.
But there is no drop in standards when summer signing Telles comes in who like Shaw is equally adept defending and getting forward.
Indeed his delivery is among the best in the squad.
It was he who picked out Martial with a superbly weighted through ball on 11 minutes but as he shot Angelo Ogbonna slid across to block his effort.
Martial’s momentum carried him forward with his outstretched boot crunching in to Ogbonna’s ankle.
After lengthy treatment he simply could not go on and limped gingerly off the pitch and down the tunnel to be replaced by Issa Diop.
Diop himself would need attention later in the half after a nasty cash of heads with Martial.
It would lead to him going off at half time as a concussion sub.
Having had an early chance, French forward Martial would turn provider in the 16th minute.

It was Telles pass into the box that found him and he expertly cushioned the ball with his chest and laid it off to Greenwood but his effort was blocked by the sliding Aaron Cresswell.
Solskjaer has praised Greenwood lately for his performances describing him as the stand out player in the 3-3 draw with Everton.
There was one moment last night when he mesmerised Mark Noble with a clever turn along the touchline to leave him trailing.
But it is goals that Greenwood needs and so far this season he has only four and just one in the league.
It took a superb save from Lukasz Fabianski to stop the home side from taking the lead on 27 minutes.
Telles is the best corner kicker at the club as well and when he swung one in Victor Lindelof stooped to head goalwards.
The ball deflected off Craig Dawson and was heading for the bottom corner, but Fabianski dived full length and stretched every sinew to claw it away.
At the opposite end of course Dean Henderson was hoping to stake his claim for a decent run between the sticks with David De Gea’s form once more coming into question following the Everton game.
The problem was Henderson was having little to do in order to raise the volume of the clamour for him to get his chance.
West Ham had one shot to United’s eight by the break which pretty much summed up how much Solsjaer’s men were on top.
Having run themselves into the ground with that impressive 3-1 win at Aston Villa, the Hammers had looked fatigued in their goalless draw at Fulham.
Main man Michail Antonio simply needed the rest he was afforded last night.

Yarmolenko was also forced off the pitch due to injury at Old TraffordCredit: PA:Press Association

Fabianski was forced into making another sharp save in the second-half, this time from RashfordCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
Still, Moyes clearly expected more from his men as he raced down the touchline at the break for his half-time talk.
While Diop’s change was enforced he also brought Ben Johnson on for Jarrod Bowen.
But a third injury on the night forced Moyes into another change early in the half.
Andiy Yarmolenko took a knock and 18-year-old Mipo Odubeko who came through the ranks at Manchester United finally got the chance to play at Old Trafford.
The wave of red attacks would continue early in the second half before West Ham got a foot in the game but it became very scrappy..
Fabianski had to come to the rescue again with as he made himself big to deny Rashford at close range.
Then there was alarm bells ringing when Lindelof gave the ball away right on half way and Pablo Fornals broke and tried to find Declan Rice to his left..
Credit to Lindelof for his recovery for he would get back to intercept that pass.
United were missing that X-factor that Bruno Fernandes gives them and with extra-time looming he was brought into the fray for the ineffective Donny van de Beek.
Scott McTominay would also come on for Nemanja Matic.
Nobody wanted extra time in these Baltic temperatures so Solskjaer stuck Edinson Cavani on as well for the last five minutes of normal time in the hope his poaching instincts could do it.
But another 30 minutes for tiring teams it was.
And McTominay ensured it was United who booked their place in the last-eight with his sweetly-struck extra-time finish.
