Man Utd ready to step up £15m transfer bid for Ghana wonderkid Sulemana, 19, after he scores twice in front of top scout

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to press ahead with a £15million bid for winger Kamaldeen Sulemana – and hope he will be qualified to play for them by the start of next season.United sent top scout Tommy Moller Nielsen to watch Sulemana score in FC Nordsjaelland’s 2-2 draw against Copenhagen on Monday night after tracking the 19-year-old all season.

And SunSport understands they are set to make a move for the Ghana international soon.
United know they may need to act fast in order to beat Ajax, Bayer Leverkusen, Lyon and Monaco in the race for his signature.
But any move represents a gamble by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Under the new post-Brexit transfer rules, Sulemana does not have enough points to gain a work permit.
That could change this summer if the Danish league climbs one place in the Uefe co-efficients, which would then see him meet the new UK points regulations.
Another possible hope for United would be if Sulemana makes one more competitive appearance for Ghana.
That too would again see his points tally rise enough to gain a work permit to play in England.
Ajax director of football Marc Overmars is also understood to have watched him on Monday night.

The Dutch giants have initially told Nordsjaelland they would be prepared to pay £10m to secure a deal.
The teenager has caught the eye after an impressive first full season at Nordsjaelland.
Sulemana has scored ten goals in 28 appearances for the Danish giants in 2020-21.

Wayne Rooney had to deliberately rip Man Utd kit for Champions League debut as his neck would not fit in shirt

WAYNE ROONEY has revealed he had to deliberately rip his shirt ahead of his Manchester United debut – as his neck couldn’t fit through the hole. The former Everton whiz made his debut for the Red Devils in a 2004 Champions League clash with Fenerbahce.

Rooney scored a hat-trick and laid on an assist in a 6-2 win following his £25.6million move from Goodison Park that summer, all the while wearing a ripped jersey due to his thick neck.
Looking back at his Champions League debut, Rooney – speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s Between The Lines – recalled: “I remember just thinking, ‘I’m ready’.
“I’d come off the back of Euro 2004, where I’d done well.
“You see that rip in my shirt there? I had to rip it because my neck wouldn’t fit in the shirt!
“That’s the only reason I ripped the shirt.”
Looking back at his early days under Sir Alex Ferguson, Rooney added: “I spoke to the manager the weekend before this, against Middlesbrough, and I was desperate to be on the bench.
“He just said, ‘Wayne, you’re going to start against Fenerbahce in the Champions League’.
    “I remember thinking ‘I just can’t wait’.

“I was ready, I was confident and believed I was going to score. Did I think I’d score three? No.”
When quizzed by Ferdinand, Rooney admitted he was a bit nervous, revealing: “The big thing for me was going to Manchester United as a Scouser.
“I knew I had to impress. Somehow I have to leave an impact on the game and get the fans to like me.”
Derby boss Rooney also revealed he used Marcus Rashford – who also joined Ferdinand for the interview – as inspiration for keeping his Rams in the Championship.
The Midlands side only survived relegation with a final-day 3-3 draw against Sheffield Wednesday.

And Rooney revealed he had to call up a few unknown youngsters to fill an injury void during their run-in, recalling Rashford’s explosive debut against Midtjylland in 2016.
Rooney explained: “Marcus’ story from getting in the first team I actually used it a couple of weeks ago.
“We’ve had injuries at Derby, and I put a few of the young lads on the bench who hadn’t even trained with us so I used Marcus’ story from that.
“Marcus came in from nowhere, didn’t really train with us, come in, and impact and look where’s he’s gone on from that.
“So for those players to try and follow in those footsteps when you get that chance, it’s up to you then to take it, and he’s certainly done that.”

How Man Utd could line up against Leicester with new-look XI as Solskjaer turns to kids to cope with fixture chaos

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has confirmed he could turn to the kids against Leicester in a bid to cope with Manchester United’s chaotic fixture list. The Red Devils are in the midst of a horror run of three games in just five days, surviving the first test against Aston Villa in a 3-1 win on Sunday,.

But United must next take on the Foxes on Tuesday before Thursday’s clash against Liverpool with their Premier League title hopes still just about alive following Manchester City’s home loss against Chelsea.
And Solskjaer has admitted he could turn to youth in a bid to keep his squad healthy.
Captain Harry Maguire limped off during the Villa Park win and could miss the rest of the season.
Phil Jones, Anthony Martial and Dan James are also missing for Man Utd – with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw in need of a rest.
Fringe players such as Axel Tuanzebe and Alex Telles could come into the starting XI with Shaw and Wan-Bissaka in need of a breather.
Wan-Bissaka is United’s only senior, out-and-out right-back, but Tuanzebe performed admirably on the right-side of a back-three against Paris Saint-Germain earlier this season and could deputise.
Donny van de Beek could be given a shot in the No10 slot should Solskjaer opt to rest Fernandes, while Edinson Cavani may start up front ahead of Marcus Rashford amid his hot run of form.
But Solskjaer has admitted youngsters such as 18-year-old Amad Diallo – who scored in the Europa League draw with AC Milan in March – and Shola Shoretire, 17, could also play a role on Tuesday.

Another way Solskjaer could send out his squad vs Leicester

Ahead of the game, Solskjaer said: “[Diallo and Shoretire] are in contention, definitely. They’re in the first-team squad.
“They’re training with us every day so I would think that some of the young boys will get an appearance definitely.
“If it’s coming on towards the end or starting, I don’t know.
“I don’t know how the players will be on Tuesday when we see them.”
But Solskjaer did confirm the need for his squad to pace themselves and not ‘go all out’ given their fixture congestion.

The Norwegian said: “I wish I could have said let’s go full out in all the games… but it’s impossible.
“That’s the hard bit for me – knowing that if I do play the same XI again on Tuesday and Thursday, it’s impossible.
“I run too much of a risk of injuries so talking about integrity in the league and stuff, don’t blame me when I have to make changes, because I have to.
“It’s not safe for them to play all four, so I’ve got to prioritise.”

Edinson Cavani ‘signs new Man Utd contract worth £250k a week’ as Solskjaer begs striker to stay another season

EDINSON CAVANI has signed a new, £250,000-a-week contract to extend his stay at Manchester United, according to reports. The Uruguayan striker, 34, signed a one-year deal worth £200,000 a week after arriving as a free agent last summer.

Edinson Cavani has signed a new £250,000-a-week contract at Man Utd, say reports
Ever since, speculation has been rife that Cavani could head to South America, with Boca Juniors strongly linked with the ex-Paris Saint-Germain superstar.
But transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has claimed Cavani has ‘officially’ signed a new £250,000-a-week contract – just days after SunSport exclusively revealed he was in line for a £2.5million-a-year pay boost.
Romano tweeted: “Edinson Cavani has signed his contract extension with Manchester United, here we go.
“The agreement has been completed, Cavani has accepted to stay after Man Utd board and Solskjaer were pushing to keep him.
    “Confirmed and done deal.”
United already had the option to trigger a one-year extension on Cavani’s original deal, on the provision the player also agreed to stay.
Cavani has been in sensationally strong form in recent weeks, scoring five goals in his last three games – and eight in his last seven – including four strikes in the Europa League semi-final win over Roma.
His influence on youngster Mason Greenwood has also been plain to see, with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer thrilled with their partnership.

Greenwood recently praised Cavani, telling MUTV: “You know what he’s going to do but you can’t seem to stop him.
“He’s still scoring goals, it was exactly the same against Roma.
“It’s nice to watch there on the bench, to watch his movement when he scores.
“It’s his movement, everyone knows he can do it but they can’t stop it.
“I’m sure we’re all learning off him, me, Rashy, all the attackers and all the young lads are looking up to him.
“It’s good to have him there.”

It was Wednesday, Wycombe and Rotherham who instead went down.
In a revealing interview alongside Rashford on Rio Ferdinand’s Between The Lines, Derby boss Rooney revealed he used Rashford’s rise to the top to inspire his players.
The 35-year-old explained: “Marcus’ story from getting in the first team I actually used it a couple of weeks ago.
“We’ve had injuries at Derby, and I put a few of the young lads on the bench who hadn’t even trained with us so I used Marcus’ story from that.

“So for those players to try and follow in those footsteps when you get that chance, it’s up to you then to take it, and he’s certainly done that.”
In the BT Sport special, the three Manchester United players past and present chatted about Rashford’s rise from schoolboy talent to England superstar.
And Ferdinand remembers well when Rashford was just starting to make people sit up and take notice in the academy.

He added: “I remember when we were in the training ground, and we would all eat in the same canteen, first team, young lads and school boys.
“And you used to come in, I’d see you in your school uniform, baggy blazer down to your knees, and you did stand out to me.
“Although you were small you had an assuredness about you, you weren’t too shy but you weren’t too cocky. There was a calmness about you.
“I used to ask people, ‘what’s he like?’. [They’d reply] ‘he’s got a talent’.”
Rashford made his full debut for United in a 5-1 win against Midttjylland on February 25, 2016, scoring twice.
He made his Premier League debut three days later against Arsenal scoring two and assisting another in a 3-2 victory.
He has made 267 appearances in total, scoring 87 goals.

Meanwhile a previous protest saw around 20 supporters walk into Carrington and speak to boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And the Red Devils have taken advice from police to beef up their security ahead of their home match against Leicester on Tuesday.
Solsjkaer’s side then face Liverpool in the rearranged tie just 48 hours later, before hosting Fulham the following Tuesday.
With fans potentially protesting against the hated Glazer family prior to their meeting against the Foxes, United have placed a ring of steel outside their ground.
It is believed that fans managed to enter the stadium last week through the Munich Tunnel where they pushed down barriers.
And reinforced structures have now been erected in a bid to stop future break-ins.
Police are expected to be present in large numbers ahead of the game against Leicester.
SunSport have exclusively revealed how United are fearful of a summer of chaos where fans could disrupt the club for months.

A source said: “United’s success is often attributed to the fact they have fans all over the world who come out in droves to support them.
“But what if some of those decide instead of going along to a friendly in America or the Far East, they are going to launch a similar protest.
“It’s very hard to predict and it’s difficult to stop — and it is causing them a huge headache.

Alan Shearer urges Harry Kane to push for Tottenham transfer exit and go to club who win trophies with Man Utd linked

ALAN SHEARER has urged Harry Kane to QUIT Tottenham and finally get his hands on some well-earned silverware – with Manchester United strongly linked. The England captain, 27, has long been linked with a move away from North London with Spurs yet to win a trophy since the 2008 League Cup.

Tottenham will once again finish the season trophyless after losing the Carabao Cup final last month.
And their top-four hunt took a serious blow on Saturday too after Spurs slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Leeds, leaving them seven points off fourth-placed Leicester.
After the game, Match of the Day reopened the Kane transfer debate, with Shearer telling host Gary Lineker the Three Lions star – now in his prime year – MUST quit.
Lineker asked: “Does this sort of lacklustre display make any difference to the sort of decision Harry Kane will have to make at the end of this season?
“Put yourself in Harry Kane’s shoes – Alan, you ended up at Newcastle, although it’s a different order and he started at his hometown club, but what do you think?”
Shearer replied: “When I left Blackburn, I had a season after we won the title and we were nowhere near winning the title.
“That sort of made my mind up as I then wanted to go on and try and do things.
“So if Harry wants an excuse, then Tottenham and that team are giving him one.”

Shearer concluded: “They didn’t show up for the cup final and they didn’t show up [against Leeds].
“If I was in his position, I’d go and look elsewhere to try and win trophies.”
Over the weekend, SunSport exclusively revealed Kane had asked Tottenham to listen to offers for him, with Man Utd eyeing up a monster £90million move.
It’s understood Kane will stop short of requesting a transfer but the hope is by appealing to Levy to be open to bids, it may see a big-money move set up.
It is the clearest indication yet he could decide he has run his course in North London after joining the club academy in 2004.
Spurs have remained resolute in the position they do not want to sell, with the added confidence Kane still has three years on his existing contract.
But the manner of Tottenham’s dismal fall from even a top-four spot this season, plus the uncertainty over who will be the next manager, has led Kane to consider his options.

Man Utd ‘lining up £80m Jadon Sancho transfer bid’ – cheaper than offer Borussia Dortmund rejected last summer

The Red Devils were claimed to have had a £91m offer rejected by BVB for Sancho as the German outfit held out for £108m.
And United have retained their interest in the winger, who has chipped in with 14 goals and 18 assists in 35 games in all competitions this term.
According to the Daily Star, the Europa League finalists will make a fresh move for the player with BVB open to selling the ex-Manchester City youth star.
They state that United will test Dortmund’s resolve with an £80m opening offer.
It has also been reported that Sancho’s team-mate Erling Haaland is also a key target, though he is likely to prove too costly at £150m.
Sancho opened up on his future following the 3-2 win against RB Leipzig on Saturday where he scored two second half goals.
He told ESPN: “Will I leave the club? I don’t know about my future.
“I am very happy here in Dortmund at the moment. I love the club, the fans and the team.

“They gave me my first professional start. The fans motivate and push me to the limit.”
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc revealed earlier this month that there is a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ to allow Sancho to leave at the end of the campaign.
He said: “We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can move under certain conditions.
“However, this agreement doesn’t exist with Erling.”
