The 28-year-old has not played since, and was relying on crutches to get him around.
But United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to definitely rule out his captain, and Maguire has been named in the 26-man squad flying out to Gdansk.
Speaking on the club website, Solskjaer said: “Harry is just going to jog up and down the sidelines [in training]
“I reckon he’ll try to join in a bit.”
After United won 2-1 at Wolves on Sunday to comfortably finished second – five points above Liverpool in third – Maguire took to Instagram to urge his team-mates to get better next season.
The 28-year-old uploaded a picture of himself in a United shirt and wrote: “Great way to finish the @premierleague campaign.
“Well done lads. Another step forward this year but we don’t settle for this, next year we must improve again.
    “Looking forward to Wednesday #MUFC.”

And before the Wolves game, Solskjaer confirmed his captain will be joining the squad in Poland.
The Norwegian said he will give Maguire ‘until Wednesday’ to see how he feels.
But the game will come too soon for Anthony Martial, who has not recovered from his knee problem.

Maguire recently gave fans hope he could play when he ditched his crutches and attended the premiere of Sir Alex Ferguson’s film ‘Never Give In’ on Thursday evening.

Bruno Fernandes vs Eric Cantona: How Man Utd stars compare with Portuguese ace ‘honoured’ with link to legend

BRUNO FERNANDES has spoken of his pride to be compared with Eric Cantona after a monumental 2020-21 season. The attacking midfielder, 26, joined the Red Devils in January 2020 but has already been involved in 65 goals in all competitions.
How Fernandes compares to Cantona amid his stunning start to life at Man Utd
Sir Alex Ferguson claimed Fernandes is the exact player United have been missing since his departure with his ability to open up defences.
Such has been the Portuguese star’s impact in the past 18 months, many have now compared the Old Trafford No18 to club icon Cantona.
Cantona spent five years at Man Utd, winning four Premier League titles among his NINE trophies.
And Fernandes has revealed his joy at even being mentioned in the same breath as the Frenchman.
Fernandes told BBC Sport: “It is an honour to be compared with him.
“The impact he had was really high and he won many major trophies with the club.
“But when you are compared with this kind of big player it means you need to be better every day.
“It makes me work harder to keep in the mind of the people, being compared with him. That, for me, is a good pressure.”

But has Fernandes really had a big enough impact to be considered as being up there with Cantona? The stats suggest so.
Cantona played 185 times for the Red Devils, scoring 82 times while laying on 62 assists.
In all, the France ace was involved in 144 goals at a rate of 0.79 per game.
Fernandes, meanwhile, has already scored 40 times in under two seasons, while adding a further 25 assists.
His 65 goal involvements have come from just 79 games, meaning he averages 0.82 goals per game – BETTER than Cantona.
Of course, Fernandes is yet to get his hands on a trophy at Old Trafford, with Wednesday night’s Europa League final a chance to break that duck.
But one thing is for sure, fans and pundits aren’t getting ahead of themselves comparing Fernandes to Cantona.
He’s just as good, if not better…

How Man Utd could line up in Europa League final against Villarreal as Harry Maguire faces race against time to be fit

MANCHESTER UNITED take on Villarreal for a chance to win their second Europa League title in five seasons on Wednesday night. But they’ll likely have to do it without captain and star defender Harry Maguire.
How Man Utd could line up against Villarreal with Maguire out
The England ace, 28, is struggling in his race to be passed fit for the final in Gdansk, Poland after picking up an ankle injury earlier this month.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named Maguire in his 26-man travelling group – but admitted he’s unlikely to turn to his skipper on the pitch.
The Man Utd boss claimed: “We still hope for Harry, we’re going to give him as much time as possible but the hope is getting slimmer.
“It’s a blow, definitely. When your captain, your ever-present captain, your leader is out…”
United will definitely be without Anthony Martial, though.
The French forward has returned to training following a two-month injury lay-off, but has not been deemed fit enough for the squad.
Youngsters Amad Diallo, Anthony Elanga – who scored in the 2-1 win at Wolves – and Shola Shoretire have been named in the travelling group.
David De Gea is likely to beat Dean Henderson to the starting spot between the sticks.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw are certainties to start in the full-back slots, barring any late injuries.
Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof are set to start together at centre-back, with Axel Tuanzebe also in contention should Maguire not recover.
In midfield, Fred is likely to be fit enough to start alongside Scott McTominay in the deeper midfield roles following a minor knock.
Bruno Fernandes will undoubtedly start in the No10 position behind Edinson Cavani up front.
Marcus Rashford is expected to start on the right wing with Paul Pogba taking on the role on the left flank yet again.
However, Mason Greenwood will be pushing for a spot in the XI and could start in place of Fred, with Pogba shifting into midfield and Rashford switching to the left.

The Sunday Times claim United will also pay him a multimillion-pound signing-on fee to cover any loyalty bonuses Kane, who has three years left on his contract, would forsake if he were to formally hand in a transfer request.

Bild claim Coman, 24, earns £200k a week before tax but ‘would like to have it in net’.
