Man Utd transfer target Kieran Trippier happy to wait for move with Red Devils needing to sell before launching £30m bid

ATLETICO MADRID right-back Kieran Trippier is reportedly willing to wait until the end of the window to complete a move to Manchester United. The 30-year-old has been linked with a return back to the Premier League having entered the final year of his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano.

And SunSport understands that the Red Devils are determined to secure his services to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
According to the Telegraph, Trippier is prepared to wait until the August 31 transfer deadline to secure a switch to join the Red Devils.
They state that Trippier is keen to move back to the North West of England with his family still living there.
The news outlet adds that the ex-Tottenham defender is aware United will have to sell players in order to fund a bid for him.
It is believed that Atletico value the former Burnley man at £30million after he helped Diego Simeone’s side win the LaLiga title.
United have already splashed around £120m to bring Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane to the Theatre of Dreams.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that Trippier would offer an added threat from set-pieces due to his abilities from dead-ball situations.
And with Diogo Dalot and Brandan Williams facing an uncertain future at United, Trippier could become the next high-profile arrival at Old Trafford.

QPR striker Charlie Austin has declared that United are in need of a new right-back as he questioned Wan-Bissaka’s defensive qualities.
He told talkSPORT: “Although Manchester United have signed [Raphael] Varane, their biggest problem is they need a right-back.
“Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not up to the [required] quality.
“We played them the other day, and I know it was only a pre-season, but they need to go all out for Kieran Trippier.
“That’s who they’re crying out for. Aaron Wan-Bissaka can’t defend.
“And his final ball is not what a centre-forward wants, it’s not what [Edinson] Cavani wants, it’s not what [Marcus] Rashford wants.
“They need to sign Kieran Trippier.”

France’s World-Cup winning centre-half Raphael Varane will finally complete his transfer move from Real Madrid to the Red Devils this week.
Now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is due to receive another boost as the England international nears a return to action.
And Jones’ comeback has opened the door for youngster Axel Tuanzebe to head out on loan in search of regular action with Newcastle leading the chase.
Solskjaer said: “I can see, with Raphael looking like everything is sorted there, I can see Axel going out.
“I’ve got Raphael Varane, [Harry] Maguire, [Victor] Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones is due to start training over the weekend when we’ve got everyone in on Monday.”
Solskjaer also admitted he sympathises with Jones over the star’s injury woes.
The Norwegian was plagued with a knee problem himself towards the end of his career and was forced to miss the full 2004/05 campaign
Discussing the return of Jones, he said: “Big plus for him.

Man Utd to decide ‘in the next few days’ if Rashford will undergo shoulder surgery that will keep him out for months

MANCHESTER UNITED are set to decide whether Marcus Rashford will go under the knife and risk being sidelined for months. The striker had a scan earlier this month to determine the severity of the muscle tear in his shoulder he has been managing since last November.

Rashford, 23, took pain-killing injections to ensure he was available for the Euros.
But after the problem failed to improve, he could now be set for surgery that could rule him out for at least the opening two months of the Premier League campaign.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now said he will decide in the next few days whether the ace will have the shoulder operation.
He said: “With Marcus, we’ll make a decision in the next few days, check him again.
“What’s best for him and the club has to be considered.”
Rashford was subjected to vile racist abuse earlier this month after he missed a crucial penalty for England in the Euro 2020 Final shootout defeat to Italy.
He received a huge outpouring of support in the aftermath with Red Devils fans looking forward to his return.
Solskjaer also has a number of other decisions to make before they kick-off the season at home to Leeds on August 14.
He will look at teenager winger Amad Diallo’s short-term future after he returns from Olympic duty with Ivory Coast.

Meanwhile, Axel Tuanzebe could be heading out on loan to Newcastle while Raphael Varane is finally on the verge of signing from Real Madrid.

Maguire was a big injury doubt for England at this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament after suffering an ankle injury for United towards the end of the season.
But he came back into the side for the final group game, a 1-0 win against Czech Republic.
There was no budging him from then on, as he helped guide Gareth Southgate’s boys to the final – where they cruelly lost to Italy in a penalty shootout.
He finished the tournament playing five games and scoring one, a thumping header in the 4-0 battering of Ukraine.
And the powerful defender is a happy man after learning Three Lions boss Southgate is STAYING as the national team boss.

Man Utd transfer target Leon Goretzka’s camp ‘irritated’ at Bayern Munich over slow contract negotiations

BAYERN MUNICH star Leon Goretzka’s representatives are reportedly ‘irritated’ over ‘slow’ contract negotiations. The midfielder has been linked with a sensational transfer to Manchester United this summer.

Bayern are in talks over extending the midfielder’s contract, which runs out in 2022.
The 26-year-old’s agent, Jorg Neubauer, was recently forced to retire and Neubauer’s wife has taken charge instead along with Bundesliga heavyweight agent Thomas Kroth.
However, Sport Bild claims Goretzka’s camp are ‘irritated’ that contract talks have not yet resumed over an improved extension.
The star has emerged as a target for Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as a host of Premier League clubs.
Manchester United are seemingly in pole position to snap up the Bayern star.
Reports in Germany state United have tabled a ‘concrete offer’ to the ace for him to join them when he becomes a free agent in June.
The Red Devils are not actively pursuing a new central midfielder at the moment.
But with Paul Pogba’s future still uncertain, it appears Goretzka could be targeted as his replacement with a reported £200k-a-week package.

In three seasons with Munich, Goretzka has won a trio of Bundesliga titles plus two German Cups and a Champions League.
Meanwhile, Pogba’s Old Trafford contract expires in summer 2022 and he has given no indication as yet that he is willing to commit to a new one.
The 2018 World Cup winner’s agent Mino Raiola has already discussed personal terms with French giants PSG.
