And he would like his stay to be indefinite, after settling in the West Midlands and enjoying a warm welcome from the fans.
An insider revealed: “Axel is playing with a smile on his face and loves the reception Aston Villa fans gave him when he returned to the club.
“He’s very happy in the West Midlands and would welcome a permanent move to the club, if that was to arise.”
Manager Dean Smith is said to play a major part in Tuanzebe’s belief his future belongs at Villa Park.
The England U21 star is happy that he’s getting more game time.
The source added: “In Dean Smith, Axel believes he has a boss who can get the best out of him and understands his game.

“He is getting plenty of minutes on the pitch and the experience will only improve his game.
“Axel would relish the opportunity to stay beyond this season and help the club win trophies.”
Ahead of his loan move to Villa, Tuanzebe signed a new contract with the Red Devils until 2023 with the option of an extra year.
The centre-back made his debut for United in 2016 under Jose Mourinho in a pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic.
After the game, the Special One quipped: “10 minutes is enough! The potential is there, you see it immediately.”
But since then, Tuanzebe has struggled to cement a place in the first team – with injuries hindering his progress.
Incredibly, he has captained United at all levels, including the first team in a EFL Cup victory against Rochdale in 2019.
That same season, Tuanzebe was lauded by the pundits after marking PSG forward Kylian Mbappe out of a Champions League tie at the Parc des Princes, as United recorded a famous 2-1 win.

Meet the man who could have bought Man Utd for just £10million in 1989, and missed out on a business now worth £3billion

TODAY, Manchester United is a business worth around £3billion.They are one of the world’s most valuable sports teams, thanks in part to a dominance of the British game in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s, as well as clever marketing that means their name is recognised around the globe.
Businessman Michael Knighton almost bought Man Utd for £10million in 1989Credit: PA

But in 1989, a then much-maligned club and starved of success, the Red Devils were on the verge of being taken over for just £10million.
Property developer Michael Knighton, now 69, had announced the takeover a day before their opening game of the season at Old Trafford against Arsenal.
Then, on the Saturday, he stood in front of the Stretford End and took in the cheers from some 48,000 fans before the game, appearing in an official team training kit and expertly juggling a football on the pitch.
His plans were to turn Manchester United into a £150million business. He saw that with TV money on the horizon from an expected Sky TV bid, it could be a lucrative money-spinner.
However, behind-the-scenes a secret plot schemed by the United hierarchy was desperate to dissuade Knighton from completing a deal.
Some were said to be miffed by his flamboyant appearance on the sacred Theatre of Dreams turf before the opening Division One game of the 1989-90 season.
While, private documents outlining a blueprint for his plans appeared at a well-known newspaper mogul’s home and ended up putting pressure on Knighton to withdraw his bid, thus ending his dream.
    BOARD RESENTMENT
A former school teacher, Knighton made his fortune building a property portfolio in the 1980s.
And in Manchester United he quite rightly saw their potential as an investment, and understood that ex-chief executive Martin Edwards would entertain an offer.

“The raison d’etre was very simple,” Knighton revealed.
“There was a lot of resentment against the board. Edwards was incredibly unpopular and desperate to exit. The business was losing money and home gates had fallen to as low as 18-20,000.”
United’s vast fanbase was key to Knighton’s theory. It’s what encouraged him to walk onto the pitch and orchestrate the crowd like a master politician would his voters.
“I wanted to show the fans I was a football man first and a businessman second,” he said.
“I wanted to bridge the gap between the boardroom and the terraces. Yes, it was novel. It was unorthodox. I knew it would attract interest and criticism. But I didn’t care. I needed the fans on my side more than I needed Bobby Charlton or Alex Ferguson, whose job was on the line at that time.
“I knew there was a massive captive market. If you are going to exploit that market, not in a pejorative sense, to sell them everything in order to generate the profits to buy any player in the world, you need them on your side.
“Look at what is happening now with the current owners and how the sponsors are being lobbied and some fans are not buying memorabilia and shirts.
“Of course I loved it. Who wouldn’t? Despite how it all turned out, I don’t regret going on that pitch and if I had £5bn to buy Manchester United today, I would do exactly the same again. I was fulfilling every schoolboy dream in the world.
“If you look at the pictures of that day and the smiles on the faces of the fans in the stadium, it worked.”
    ‘NOT VERY UNITED’
Knighton’s entertaining turn at Old Trafford, that would’ve given Simply Red singer, United fan and 80s icon Mick Hucknall a run for his money even at that time, riled the stiff board.

“Ridiculous”, one senior official called it – and it was at this point it was said that Edwards began to regret his decision to sell to the extravagant businessman.
Knighton’s way wasn’t the United way, despite Edwards revealing in his programme notes before a game against Norwich he wanted to sell the club and Knighton’s money would be put to use in developing the ground.
“It is not a secret that we have wished to develop the Stretford End for a number of years now,” Edwards wrote.
“The budget of £7.5m made me realise the commencement of the work is light years away.
“What Mr Knighton’s offer has brought us is the opportunity to develop the stadium as well as the playing staff and this offer was impossible to refuse.”
But privately Edwards was looking for a way out.
    SECRET DOSSIER
With every TV appearance Knighton made talking about buying United, he irked senior figures more.
Bizarrely, a document known as his ‘blueprint’ to help United become a £150million operation was mysteriously left at the house of newspaper owner Eddy Shah, who was a pal of the United hierarchy.
Shah immediately got in touch and senior board members rushed to his Macclesfield home.

Even United legend Bobby Charlton arrived at the scene, and was said to have had a calming influence on Shah’s aggressive dogs purely by his presence.
The dossier was supposed to be private. The fact it had got out put Knighton under pressure to withdraw his bid.
Knighton was offered a place on the board, if he opted out of a deal. He accepted.
For the next three years, he was a quiet influence in the boardroom, until 1992 when he bought Carlisle, before finally walking away from football 10 years later.
After that period, United went on to dominate the domestic game and adding European trophies to their trophy cabinet.
“It is extraordinary how Martin Edwards has claimed credit for what happened in the following decade after my involvement. Unbelievable,” Knighton said..
“I kept my mouth shut and my head down because my reputation had been hammered and it is virtually impossible to change a public image.
After three years on the board at Old Trafford, Knighton left to become Carlisle chairmanCredit: Rex
Now 69, Knighton isn’t involved in football anymoreCredit: The Sun

“But Martin and the other people on the board decided to hide behind the fiasco Michael Knighton caused and claim the credit themselves.
“If they could really see what was going to happen, why did they agree to sell the club for £10m?”
    Now, we’ll never know.

Cristiano Ronaldo clocks astonishing speed of 20.2mph aged 36 in Man Utd win over Newcastle

CRISTIANO RONALDO clocked an astonishing speed of 20.2mph aged 36 during his second Manchester United debut. The Portugal superstar returned to Old Trafford to take on Newcastle on Saturday.
Cristiano Ronaldo clocked a rapid speed of 20.2mph in the win over NewcastleCredit: AFP
Adam Armstrong has clocked the fastest speed in the Premier League this season
And as well as scoring two goals in a man-of-the-match performance, the forward proved he is still at the peak of his powers athletically.
In the build-up to his second goal to restore United’s advantage, Ronaldo showed a clean pair of heels.
He put on the afterburners as Luke Shaw burst forward with the ball.
And suddenly Ronaldo left the Newcastle defenders for dead to latch on to the ball and fired into the back of the net.
The 20.2mph speed from the apparent veteran puts him among the fastest players in the Premier League this season.
Adam Armstrong remains the No1 king of speed so far.

The Southampton ace managed a whopping 22.15mph, putting him just ahead of Wolves’ lightning-quick winger Adama Traore on 22.12mph.
Wilfired Zaha, Nathan Tella, Ismaila Sarr and new England international Patrick Bamford have all gone faster than 21.5mph already this term.
But while Ronaldo is still managing to top 20mph in his mid-30s, combined with his lethal finishing, he is one of the biggest threats to any Premier League defender.
And the five-time Ballon d’Or winner clearly feels glad to be home in Manchester.
He said: “I’m here to win, I think we have a fantastic team with great potential and we need to build up confidence.
“Manchester United need to be where they deserve, to go step by step to win the Premier League.
“I belong to this club, so I want to help the team to achieve good things and I’m looking forward to the next games.
“This team has huge potential. We have fantastic players, a good coach, a good team and we need to build up the mentality to win the Premier League and even the Champions League.”
Ronaldo’s United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – whose side went top of the table with the win – added: “Cristiano lifts everyone, he gets everyone so focused when he’s in and around the place, he puts demands on himself, which then will put demands on his team-mates and it puts demands on us.

“That’s why he’s done so much in his career. He’s been so disciplined.
“We knew he’s evolved, he’s developed as a player, he’s a different type of player now compared to what he was when he left, but he’s still a ruthless and clinical goalscorer.
“He smells the big moments, he senses when there’s a goal in it.”

Cristiano Ronaldo hails ‘amazing’ Man Utd fans and ‘magical’ Old Trafford as he scores twice on return against Newcastle

CRISTIANO RONALDO sent out an emotional message after he marked his Manchester United comeback with a brace. The 36-year-old, who re-joined the club from Juventus on deadline day, celebrated his return by breaking the deadlock with a tap-in in first half stoppage time against Newcastle.

He then followed that up by explosively racing onto a Luke Shaw throughball and slipping it through the legs of keeper Freddie Woodman for his second.
That ensured he stole the show against the Magpies as United romped to a 4-1 victory with Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard also getting their names on the scoresheet.
And just minutes after the final whistle, Ronaldo took to Instagram to share his delight.
Along with snaps of him scoring and in action against Toon, he wrote: “My return to Old Trafford was just a brief reminder of why this stadium is known as the Theater of Dreams.
“For me, it has always been a magical place where you can achieve everything you set your mind into.
“Along with all my teammates and with the amazing support that we always get from the stands, we face the road ahead with confidence and optimism that we’ll all be celebrating together in the end.

“Proud to be back at Man United and playing in the Premier League once again, but above all, happy to help the team! Let’s go, Devils!”
His international colleague and new club-mate Fernandes said afterwards: “Everyone knows what Cristiano Ronaldo brought for the club and we are really happy to have him.
“The most important, as he will say, is the result for the team. Good players can always play well together.
“We arrived at the end (of last season) with some mistakes but did really well.
“There has been an improvement in the club and now it is time to take the next step.”
Former Newcastle striker Alan Shearer admits there is no stopping Ronaldo, despite his age.

He told BBC Sport: “Freddie Woodman had a poor game today, but Ronaldo punished Newcastle.
“I thought Newcastle offered a lot on the counter-attack; there were two or three times where a better final pass gives them a better situation.
“Man Utd had better forwards on the pitch and that’ll be the difference for them this season.
“Ronaldo keeps on going and going; there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.”

Cristiano Ronaldo demands Sancho and Man Utd team-mates match high standards with explosive display vs Newcastle

HE MAY now be the wise old head guiding the young guns but Cristiano Ronaldo showed he is ready to do just that after his successful comeback. The returning Manchester United legend also proved he is not just back to help the new generation, he is ready to bring silverware to Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo marked his return to Old Trafford with two goals against NewcastleCredit: Reuters
At 36 years and 218 days old, the Portuguese superstar became the oldest player to score for the Red Devils in the Premier League since Ryan Giggs (39 years 86 days) as he marked his comeback with a brace.
Ronaldo grabbed a typical No9’s goal with a simple tap-in from three yards out in first half stoppage time for the opener.
However, his second was a beauty as he explosively raced onto Luke Shaw’s throughball and held off a defender before rifling it straight between keeper Freddie Woodman’s legs.
It was smiles all-around as the Stretford End sang his name after the 4-1 win over Newcastle – but there was one moment when Ronaldo let one of his team-mates know exactly what he expects.
With the score still goalless, the ball was out on the left at the feet of Jadon Sancho.
Ronaldo suddenly pulled back away from his marker and found himself with at least five yards of space.

But Sancho dilly dallied and his cross was easily cut out – leading to the frustrated veteran to shake his finger up in the sky in a clear message to the England ace he wants quicker and better service.
We have all been warned that Ronaldo is no longer the swash-buckling wideman who lit up the THeatre of Dreams in the past.
And there is no doubting that now he is much more direct as the focal point of the attack.
However, whether it was the adrenaline of being back at United or the crowd’s adulation, his movement was just as incredible as his goalscoring record this afternoon.
He was out on the left, out on the right, and he tormented Jamaal Lascelles and Co. all afternoon.
And if he is managed properly by Solskjaer and not flogged to high heaven, he has shown already that he can be THE difference between United being also-rans and winners.
The only worry for the United boss remains his defensive midfield.

Nemanja Matic did OK in the anchor role but looked tired in the second half – but now with Ronaldo on-board we know that OK is no longer good enough.
Newcastle looked very dangerous on the counter, and with Donny van de Beek still yet to prove he is the answer, it’s a position that United really do need to strengthen in.

Cristiano Ronaldo steals show against Newcastle but Man Utd team-mate Jadon Sancho overshadowed

CRISTIANO RONALDO is back with a bang as he marked his second coming at Manchester United with a double to down Newcastle. The Glazer family were in the house to watch the Portuguese icon’s return with some supporters even splashing out £2,500 on the black market for the hottest ticket in town.
Cristiano Ronaldo is back in business at Manchester UnitedCredit: Richard Pelham / The Sun
Fortunately for us we had our very own Gary Stonehouse at the Theatre of Dreams to witness the 4-1 win over Newcastle.
And here’s how he rated each United player on show:
    DAVID DE GEA – 7
Called into action midway through the opening period with an easy save to deny Matt Ritchie’s long-ranger.
He had very little to do and can’t be blamed for Manquillo’s equaliser and then stood up well to stop Joelinton from making it 2-2.
    AARON WAN-BISSAKA – 6
The speedster is usually excellent in one-on-one situations against pacey wingers and forwards, but he struggled several times against Saint-Maximin and Joelinton and was caught chasing shadows for the equaliser.
Made up for it with a great tackle to cut out an attack moments later and spent the majority of the game further up field offering support to Mason Greenwood.
    RAPHAEL VARANE – 7
Almost got off the mark for United on 19 minutes as his front post header ended up flying across goal and inches wide.
Strong and solid at the back, showing off his capabilities when outmuscling Matt Ritchie early doors before cutting out a dangerous Saint-Maximin cross after the interval.
Good in the air, but like his defensive colleagues, struggled against the pace of the Toon attack on the counter, with Joelinto also getting the better of him at least once.

    HARRY MAGUIRE – 6
Just like he does for England, he showed his danger from corners with a header that ultimately ended up straight at the keeper.
Struggled with Saint-Maximin’s pace at times, tugging him back shortly before the break.
Solid and steady Eddie as always
    LUKE SHAW – 8
Left Fernandes in trouble with a poor throw that allowed Joe Willock to nick the ball midway through the opening period.
Played more like a left winger and continued his brilliant form though apart from that manic moment and produced a fabulous assist for Ronaldo’s second after bursting forward 40 yards with the ball.
    PAUL POGBA – 7
A good display from the Frenchman who stayed quite disciplined in the midfield.
There were a few moments of excellence as he sprayed the ball around well, but seemed happy to let his pals Fernandes and Ronaldo take the limelight.
Paul Pogba played his part in Saturday’s beating of NewcastleCredit: Reuters
    NEMANJA MATIC – 6
With all the attacking talents on display in front of him, the Serb was deployed as the anchor man to help shore up the defence.
The veteran mopped up Newcastle’s attempted counters well and even tried to mix it with the big boys by pulling the trigger from distance in the first half.
Tired in the second as Joe Willock got away from him several times to prove that this position is still a problem one for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
    MASON GREENWOOD – 6
Actually struggled to make much of an impact but it was his boldness that got the Red Devils into the lead.
The starlet cut in from the left and pulled the trigger from the edge of the area with the shot that Freddie Woodman diverted straight into Ronaldo’s path to slot home.
Was given a breather by Solskjaer for the last five minutes.
    BRUNO FERNANDES – 8
Grew fed-up of Newcastle’s time-wasting as early as the 20th minute and then tried to steal the headlines off his Portuguese compatriot with an audacious Beckham-like lobbed effort from half way that dipped just over the bar.
Looked delicious throughout and he capped his performance with the goal of the game with just over ten to go from 25 yards to seal the points.
Bruno Fernandes smashed the third for UnitedCredit: EPA
    JADON SANCHO – 6
His pace always makes him a danger and his direct runs caused Manquillo problems.
But despite his electricity, it was his slow decision making that let him down a bit today.
He took a second too long to pull the trigger after being played in by Fernandes, allowing Lascelles to block before then wasting a chance to cross for the free Ronaldo – who let him know exactly what he felt.
Was replaced for the last 25 minutes by Jesse Lingard.
    CRISTIANO RONALDO – 9
From the moment he danced past three defenders and fired into side-netting from the left and then produced a cheeky backheel seconds later it felt just like the old times.
The swash-buckling wideman he may be no longer, but the forward’s movement is still impressive.
Having a pop at Sancho for not crossing to him earlier, Ronaldo still demands the very best.
He won’t score an easier goal than the tap-in for his first but his second showed his killer instinct in full force as he was slipped in by Luke Shaw and rifled the ball through the keeper’s legs.
    THE KING IS BACK!
Ronaldo did not disappoint in his Old Trafford returnCredit: Reuters
    SUBS
    JESSE LINGARD (On 66 mins) – 6
Buzzed about trying to make things happen but struggled to get going until his excellent finish made it four in stoppage time.

And old rival Ferguson says the 58-year-old’s stellar career – which has seen him win the title in four different countries – marks him out as one of the best.
The LMA committee member said: “Reaching 1000 matches as a manager will be such a proud day for both Jose and his family and rightly so.
“To reach this landmark as a manager is an outstanding accomplishment for Jose, particularly whilst excelling and winning titles in four European leagues and of course winning two Champions League trophies along the way.
“Jose’s achievements will always ensure that he is acknowledged as one of the managerial greats.
“On behalf of the League Managers Association, congratulations and welcome to the Hall of Fame 1000 Club Jose.”
Roma boss Mourinho said:  “I am obviously very pleased to be reaching the milestone of 1000 matches managed this weekend, but at the same time it is always in my nature to be looking forward to the next match instead of dwelling on those precious matches that I have experienced so far in my career.

“To be inducted into the League Managers Association 1000 Club is an achievement that I am proud of and I thank the LMA for remembering this milestone and the many matches my teams have won during this time.”
Mourinho, of course, was one of the men tasked with bringing glory back to United after Fergie’s retirement and spent two years in charge at Old Trafford before he was replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2018.
He won the Carabao Cup, Europa League and led United to a second-place finish in the Premier League during that period.

The announcement of the star’s signing sent the share price soaring by 9.8 per cent at one point before it fell back slightly.
That made the club’s stock market value rocket by £271million and now investors are hoping to cash in and profit from the legend.
Mike Owens, Global Sales Trader at financial trading platform Saxo Markets, said: “The Manchester United share price gained 9 per cent following the announcement that the club had re-signed Cristiano Ronaldo on a two year deal, which added £271m to the club’s market worth.
“The club are a football superpower who already lead other major teams in their effectiveness to harness revenue streams and the re-signing of Ronaldo helps them maximise this.”
Owens continued: “The 36-year-old – who boasts over 330 million Instagram followers – has already seen some record-breaking numbers since his transfer last month.
“The news of his move received over 17 tweets per second in the first hour after the announcement and early shirt sales broke all records with Ronaldo becoming the fastest selling player in 24 hours of a transfer announcement.

“Manchester United will hope to maximise this interest through their brand partnerships by signing more lucrative contracts in the near future.”
Fans are already clamouring to see Ronaldo back in action – with tickets selling for £2,500 for the Newcastle clash.
And if the ex-Real Madrid forward delivers on his vow to bring silverware back to the Theatre of the Dreams, then it will not only be the Stretford End celebrating.

Owens added: “All eyes will be on Ronaldo this Saturday and if it’s a return to remember, attention will turn to Manchester United shares’ performance in New York on Monday.
“Ultimately the performance of the share price will follow the success of the team and if Ronaldo comes good on his pledge that ‘Sir Alex, this one is for you’ meaning winning the Premier League, then fans and investors should both have something to celebrate.”
