Man Utd fan asks and gets Roberto Firmino’s shirt and hopes nobody sees on Sky Sports after Liverpool hammering

A MANCHESTER UNITED supporter has shocked fans on social media after cameras caught him asking and receiving Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino’s shirt. The Red Devils were humiliated against their biggest rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday as Jurgen Klopp’s men smashed them 5-0.

Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino gifted a Manchester United fan his shirt following the 5-0 win at Old Trafford
The result has effectively ended United’s Premier League title tilt after just nine games, as they now trail table-toppers Chelsea by eight points.
And with the club to face Tottenham, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in their next five games, things could get a lot worse for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
But one United supporter was seemingly unfazed by their worrying form following the full-time whistle against the Reds after being spotted asking for Firmino’s jersey.
The Brazilian centre-forward, 30, was making his way down the tunnel before a young fan called for his top.
He reappeared at the side of the pitch where he gifted the male individual his top, with the fan then giving a sheepish look in the hope no-one noticed.
Unfortunately for the lad, the Sky Sports cameras filmed the incident, with football fans left in disbelief at him asking for a rival player’s shirt.

Sharing footage of the shirt swap, one user tweeted: “What’s this all about.”
A host of accounts were quick to reply, as one commented: “The lad knew he was risking it all.”
Another messaged: “Whoa is that a Utd fan accepting a liverpool kit? At OT? I’ve seen it all now.”
A third added: “Cancel his season ticket immediately!”
Meanwhile one simply stated: “Rivalries are dying.”
Following the humiliating loss, Solskjaer insisted that he will NOT quit, despite United picking up just one point from their last four games.
The fan quickly took Firmino’s jersey before looking to see if anyone around him noticed
He said: “I have come too far, we have come too far as a group. We are too close to give up now.
“It is going to be a difficult one. The players will be low but there’s loads of characters there.
“We know we are rock bottom, we can’t feel any worse than this. Let’s see where we take it.”

How Cristiano Ronaldo’s record against Liverpool compares to Mo Salah’s vs Man Utd ahead of clash

CRISTIANO RONALDO will look horns with arguably the world’s most in-form striker today in Mo Salah.Days after snatching victory from the jaws of defeat against Atalanta in the Champions League, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will welcome Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool side to Old Trafford.

And within those ranks is the irrepressible Salah, who has netted an incredible 12 goals in 11 games in all competitions so far this season.
But if it comes down to a straight shoot-out, United have their own prolific marksman of course.
This summer’s most sensational transfer saw Ronaldo make an emotional return to Old Trafford from Juventus.
And the 36-year-old has netted six goals in eight games to prove that he still has it at the highest level.
But how do the two football greats compare competing against each other’s clubs?
Ronaldo has played against Liverpool 12 times in his career, tasting victory eight on eight occasions, losing three and drawing once.
Salah, meanwhile, has featured eight times against the Red Devils, winning only three, losing twice and drawing once.

That gives CR7 a 67 per cent win ratio, compared to Salah’s 37.5per cent.
But it is Salah who has netted more.
The Egyptian has scored four times in the eight games, with Ronaldo finding the back of the net three times in his 12.
    That gives Salah a goals-per-game of 0.5 compared to Ronaldo’s 0.25.
Salah became the first Liverpool player EVER to score in nine consecutive games after scoring twice in a 3-2 Champions League win against Atletico Madrid in the week.
And he also passed Steven Gerrard to become the top scorer in the Champions League for the Reds with 31 goals.
Ronaldo also made his own headlines with an 81st minute headed winner as United came from 2-0 down to beat Atalanta 3-2 at Old Trafford.
While Ronaldo could end up finishing his career with United, question marks remain as to what Salah’s next move is.
Salah, whose current contract expires in 2023, is thought to be after a club-record deal of around £400,000-a-week, according to Telegraph Sport.
The 29-year-old has netted 137 goals in 214 games for Klopp’s side following his £34million from Serie A outfit Roma.
Ronaldo has scored 124 goals in 300 United appearances in total.

Man Utd predecessors Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho show under-fire Solskjaer the dangers of big loss to Liverpool

THE heat is on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer again and he could do without a clash with bitter rivals Liverpool. But as his predecessors have shown, after Kopping big defeats, the writing is on the wall.

Solskjaer is under huge pressure at Old Trafford with the Red Devils failing to win any of their last three Premier League games.
Last week’s 4-2 defeat against Leicester has left the club in sixth spot after eight games played.
And should United lose against Jurgen Klopp’s side, they will trail the Merseyside outfit by seven points.
Here SunSport takes a look at how David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho’s fared against the Reds in their last season in charge of United.

    DAVID MOYES – Man Utd 0 Liverpool 3 – March 16, 2014
Steven Gerrard hit two penalties, missed a third, and United had Nemanja Vidic sent off as David Moyes’ side fell well short.
Luis Suarez added another in the 84th minute to hand Liverpool a first win at Old Trafford since 2009.
Moyes was axed a month later.
    LOUIS VAN GAAL – Liverpool 2 Man Utd 0 – March 10, 2016
A penalty from Daniel Sturridge and a Roberto Firmino strike put Jurgen Klopp’s side in control of the Europa League last-16 tie.
Philippe Coutinho’s effort ensured a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture — and saw United crash out 3-1 on aggregate to turn up the heat on chief Louis van Gaal.
A month later, after winning the FA Cup but finishing fifth in the Premier League, Van Gaal was gone.

Man Utd star Paul Pogba’s £300k Rolls-Royce just inches away from being smashed by huge tree branch during storm

PAUL POGBA’s luxury Rolls-Royce was inches away from being smashed after a tree fell next to his £300,000 motor on Wednesday night. The 28-year-old’s wife Maria Zulay uploaded a snap of the Wraith Black Badge on her Instagram story showing just close the vehicle came to being hit by a huge branch.

Sharing an image of the tree lying in the driveway of their £2.9million Cheshire mansion, the branch can be seen right next to the car.
Captioning the picture, Zulay said: “This happened last night.”
Fierce winds have hit Greater Manchester this week, with a Met Office forecaster stating gusts have reached 50 miles per hour.
Pogba doesn’t have a brilliant track record of keeping his Rolls-Royce safe having left it in a police car pound for 270 days.
He was stopped in his car near Manchester Airport in June 2020 because it had Monaco-registered plates.
The World Cup-winner‘s car was put on a low loader and taken away, leaving him with a £150 towing bill.

Pogba was given three points along with a £220 fine and ordered to pay £85 costs at Tameside magistrates’ court in December.
And the ex-Juventus midfielder incurred the wrath of a angry motorist in January 2019 after leaving his Rolls-Royce parked at Wilsmlow Station.
Not only did he pick up a £60 penalty, but he was also greeted with a note on his windshield, which read: “Stop driving like a w*****.”

Pogba – in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford – hinted on Wednesday he could pen a new deal following the 3-2 Champions League win against Atalanta.
When asked about his future Pogba said: “I enjoy playing at Manchester United.
“Then Cristiano [Ronaldo] is special – he’s one of the best in the world, I love playing with him.”

‘Two words.. viva Ronaldo goodnight!’ – Fans MUTE BT Sport over Robbie Savage’s ’embarrassing’ punditry in Man Utd win

MANCHESTER UNITED fans MUTED BT Sport because of Robbie Savage’s ’embarrassing punditry’.The former Red Devils schoolboy bellowed: ‘Viva Ronaldo, he’s done it again,’ when Cristiano headed in the winner to complete the 3-2 comeback win against Atalanta.

And at full-time, Savage concluded: “Two words: viva Ronaldo, goodnight,” before later mocking his own maths with a tweet.
His over-zealous commentary did not go down well with viewers back home.
One supporter labelled Savage ‘unbearable’ while hundreds piled in on Twitter.
A fan wrote: “Robbie Savage is a fantastic advert for the ‘mute’ button on your TV remote control…”
Another said: “Had to mute Robbie Savage.”
A third added: “Is there a comms option without Robbie Savage noises?”

One commented: “Someone at BT needs to have a word with Robbie Savage. This is embarrassing.”
And a final user joked: “Robbie Savage might as well just start singing Glory Glory Man United at this point.”
Savage could not hide his pleasure as Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Ronaldo scored in the second half to secure a massive three points in the Champions League.
He hailed the ‘movement of Harry Maguire, peeling out wide’ before replays showed the skipper standing still at the back post to net the equaliser.
But while one former United man was delighted, another was less impressed – especially by the first half.
Paul Scholes, Savage’s BT Sport colleague, slated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a damning verdict of the opening 45 minutes at Old Trafford which saw United concede twice.
Legendary midfielder Scholes said: “Ole was emotional but the shape was all wrong in the first half.
“I thought Atalanta had too many chances and to be fair, when a team is getting beat 2-0 at half-time at home, I wouldn’t say the performance could be that good.

“Like I said, he’s emotional. He’s just won a game, but I didn’t like the first half and it’s worried me.
“If we play like that against a proper team it will be disastrous.
“I get the United excitement but that first half put me off the second half, and if United were playing a better team they’d be out of sight.”

‘Klopp will be rubbing his hands together’ – Paul Scholes fears for Man Utd vs Liverpool after Atalanta first-half flop

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Paul Scholes has declared Jurgen Klopp will be “rubbing his hands together” following the 3-2 win against Atalanta. The Red Devils once again came back from behind in the Champions League to win late on at Old Trafford having trailed 2-0 going into the break.

It was a disastrous display from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men in the opening 45 minutes as they were outclassed by their Italian opponents, who could have scored more.
And Scholes has stated they will be not be able to get away with a similar outing against rivals Liverpool on Sunday at the Theatre of Dreams.
The BT Sport pundit said: “The first half put me off the second half. It was worrying, it looked anything but a team and lacked unity.
“It was the back four, the two holding midfielders then the rest. Can they go and play against Liverpool or Manchester City like that? Never in a million years.
“The two midfield players were playing on their own. They conceded so many chances. Against quality opposition there’s no way you’re winning that games.
“Imagine Jurgen Klopp during that first half at home, watching rubbing his hands together.

“They can’t keep on relying on the goalkeeper like that. The quality has never been in doubt, it’s at the other end.
“I don’t want to sound like a party pooper but that first half was a major worry for me.”
He added: “I felt sorry for the two midfield players. There is not a chance they’ll play 4-2-4 this weekend, if they do they’ll get destroyed.
“Fred and [Scott] McTominay – I don’t care what two midfielders in the world – you cannot handle that on your own.
“The front four are so high, there is no connect between the team. If we play like that against Man City and Liverpool it will be disastrous.”
Following the victory over Atalanta, Solskjaer bizarrely stated his side performed well in the first half, despite match-winner Cristiano Ronaldo left fuming with his team-mates.

He remarked: “We played well first half. It was just two chances and two goals.
“Out of nothing they scored the first goal then another set play. But they never stopped believing and kept on going.
“They made a few mistakes but they kept going.”

Man Utd verdict: Red Devils fans are trying their hardest not to turn on Solskjaer as atmosphere saves boss vs Atalanta

THE LAST THING this crowd wants to do, or is going to do is turn on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. His place in their hearts was given a permanent place on a May night in Barcelona back in 1999.

Cristiano Ronaldo once again rescued Man UtdCredit: Getty
There was plenty more to love as the Baby Faced Assassin took down opponents in the most glorious of glory years at this club.
Which is why it pains the match going faithful when things are not going his way much more than when the other incumbents post-Fergie in the hottest of managerial seats were starting to shuffle.
They took their time to turn on David Moyes, Louis van Gaal or Jose Mourinho mind you.
Of those the booing that greeted Van Gaal when he mounted the steps of Wembley to get his FA Cup winners medal was the worst of it.
Steve Bruce would have loved the atmosphere they enjoyed in their final days given what he has been through.
But it wasn’t so hard to say goodbye, they wanted them out and the board could read the mood.

This is a lot, lot harder.
Not only because you can see the progress he has made, it’s there in red and white, from third to second last season.
But he had hit a very big brick wall before this meeting with Atalanta.
So the faithful did everything to lift him and lift the team.
They belted out ‘Ole’s at the wheel’ before kick-off, they even cheered him as he went down the tunnel at the break after the initial boos for the team’s performance had filtered away.

    In turn he applauded them.
It was the same when he reappeared for the second-half and he tried to urge the crowd for more.
There are some cords that cannot be broken.
At times in the first period particularly he looked on helpless as his team went 2-0 down.
The fans didn’t know where to turn their ire.
There is no point turning to the Directors box anymore. Executive Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward is sick of being made the scapegoat so he’s off in a couple of months.
Cristiano Ronaldo was once again the Man Utd hero with a late winnerCredit: AP
And you simply cannot argue against the money lavished on this team, money that he told the Glazers had to be spent.
So while there was plenty of moans and groans as passes went astray the full concentration was on lifting the side.
Not just because it’s their team, but it’s Ole’s and they so much want it to work for him.
The second-half was an example of what this crowd can do, do for their team and their manager.
It is why Sir Bobby Charlton called this famous ground The Theatre of Dreams.
It was deafening when Cristiano Ronaldo completed the comeback.
This was a three points earned by every Red Devil in the ground.
Solskjaer will need every one of the 70 plus thousand on Sunday when Liverpool visit and one thing he can be certain of is they will be there for him.
