How PSG could line up with Marcus Rashford rubbing shoulders with Messi and Neymar as Man Utd star ‘considers future’

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN could line up in several ways should they make a move for Marcus Rashford.Reports claim the Manchester United star, 23, is being lined up as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Real Madrid are leading the race to sign Mbappe, 23, on a free transfer.
And Mauricio Pochettino believes Rashford is the man best suited to replicate Mbappe’s style in his side.
In Poch’s regular 4-3-3 system, his fluid attackers interchange throughout games.
Rashford has been playing on United’s right flank under Ralf Rangnick.
And he would likely start there for PSG, with ‘false nine’ Lionel Messi dropping deep for him to cut inside.
However, Rashford also boasts the explosive pace which can devastate high defensive lines.

Pochettino could instead deploy him as a central striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
By bringing in Angel Di Maria to cover the right wing, Rashford could go straight up top to lead PSG’s attack.
And with Messi free to pull the strings as a No10, it may be the best way forward for the French giants.
But Rashford could yet stay put at United.
That’s because Pochettino is one of two candidates to replace Rangnick, the other being Ajax’ Erik ten Hag.
And should the ex-Spurs boss return to England, he is likely to do all he can to persuade Rashford to remain.

Ederson admits he was bored during Man Utd derby demolition as Man City keeper reveals he prefers being busy

EDERSON admits he finds it difficult to keep his concentration during games when Manchester City’s goalmouth is quiet. He had one of those days on Sunday as he did not have a single shot to save during the second half of the Manchester derby at the Etihad.
Etihad stopper Ederson says he feels more tired in quiet games like the derby romp vs Man Utd as he has to work hard to focusCredit: Getty
Ederson was seen chilling in the centre circle as City dominated Man UtdCredit: Twitter
One photo showed him crouched near the halfway line while the action was happening around David de Gea’s net at the other end.
Ederson insisted that is not unusual when his team are on the attack.
But he ends up more tired when he has not had much to do in games.
The Brazilian, 28, said: “It is difficult to concentrate in games when I don’t see much of the ball.
“But I always look to be constantly communicating with my team-mates.
“A lot of the time I talk to my team-mates after the game and say I’m tired.
“A game where I don’t make many saves, I’m tired mentally, and it’s more tiring than the physical tiredness.
“Concentrating for 90 minutes is difficult.

The 24-year-old has only scored five goals in 24 appearances for the Red Devils this term and has now slipped down the pecking order.
That has led to speculation that he could be considering his future – but now he is set for more misery on the international front.
That is according to ESPN, who state that Rashford is due to be dropped for England’s friendlies against both Switzerland and the Ivory Coast.
The star has started only twice out of United’s last 11 matches in all competitions and he has not scored for seven games.
His last time wearing an England shirt was in the final of Euro 2020.
He was one of the unfortunate Three Lions players to miss a penalty in the heartbreaking shootout defeat to Italy.

‘Embarrass them’ – Rio Ferdinand reveals what he’d do to turn Man Utd around and have some ‘uncomfortable conversations’

RIO FERDINAND ripped into Manchester United’s flops and hopes they are having video nasties to sort out their ‘s***’ behaviour. The furious Red Devils legend is still seething over Sunday’s 4-1 derby humiliation at City and says if they aren’t calling each other out at Carrington they need to leave the club.

Roy Keane and Gary Neville slammed the shameful effort after seeing their old side give up in the pummelling by Pep Guardiola’s defending Premier League champions.
And Ferdinand says he would deliver home truths to Ralf Rangnick’s squad and question if they are prepared to go ‘nose-to-nose’ in a bid to fix the mess.
When asked what Ferdinand would say to United’s flops, the ex-centre-back fumed: “I could pull up a heap of videos.
“I’d ask, what can you see, guys? Can someone explain why I have put this video on please? There are so many cases you could highlight to embarrass them.
“Are you okay to have uncomfortable conversations? Are you okay to be going one-to-one, nose-to-nose about a situation?
“Too many managers have come in and gone. Now it’s not about the manager.
“If you are not willing to come in, work hard and improve every day, come out of the club.
“That’s what these (United) players need to hear. That’s what it should be like at every club because there’s a standard.

Under-fire United face a crunch week with the visit of top four rivals Tottenham on Saturday followed by the Champions League last-16 second leg against Atletico Madrid at Old Trafford next Tuesday, with the tie locked at 1-1.
Ferdinand, who won six Prem titles with United as well as the 2008 Champions League, only need to look across Manchester to see the basics that are required.
The former England defender added on his Vibe with Five Podcast: “One of the main ingredients to rectify it is to bloody work hard. It isn’t rocket science.
“Graft, roll your sleeves up and be humble. Run and work hard.
“You can’t win a game with just ability alone. Earn the right to play. City work harder than anyone else. The best footballing team on the planet right now. So do Liverpool.
“Without that hard work, Pep says, go in the stands, I don’t care what you are earning or what you are doing. I’m parking you up.”

Richards was even accused of being disrespectful towards his Sky Sports colleague.
In response, Richards told the Monday Night Club on BBC Radio 5Live: “I’m not allowed to laugh now… honestly, I just won’t laugh! Shall I?
“I’ll be serious for the rest of the show. Shall I? I’m taking back one of my best assets in broadcasting. I’ll just zip it!

He continued: “I wasn’t doing that in Roy’s face… he just happened to be watching the screen that way.
“I was looking at the fans and there was a screen there. I was anxious because it looked like a clear offside.
“All the City fans are looking at me for my reaction because I’m getting the reaction first on the screen.

On Sundays coverage of the Manchester derby, Richards also got into a heated debate with United legend Gary Neville over Ralf Rangnick.
Richards suggested United should’ve appointed Tottenham boss Antonio Conte as manager when he was available.
Richards said: “Gone for Conte! Conte was available when he went to Spurs!
“He was the best available manager at the time. And because he doesn’t fit the ‘Man United way’?
“The Man United way is you don’t win any trophies! Conte’s done it!”

Mauricio Pochettino will use ‘shambles’ Man Utd as STEPPING STONE to Real Madrid, claims Steve McManaman

But United may struggle to get PSG to release Poch despite reportedly making contact with his representatives.
However, former Liverpool and Real Madrid star McManaman reckons Pochettino would not hang about for long in Manchester.
The ex-Tottenham boss has made no secret of his desire to coach Real, saying in 2020: “I don’t know if I’ll ever coach Madrid but of course it’s my dream.
“If it’s not the best, it’s one of the best clubs in the world. I’m no different, everyone has it on their dream list.”
Indeed, Real are already said to be weighing up a move after Pochettino’s PSG taught them a lesson in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash.
And Macca believes Poch would only join United to further his profile and boost his chances of becoming the Bernabeu’s main man.

McManaman told Horseracing.net: “I think he would strengthen Manchester United, but anybody would at the moment.
“I don’t mean that disrespectfully. They’re all over the place. They need to appoint ‘a manager’ – and I’m not saying it’s Pochettino – and give them a little bit of strength and a little bit of stability.
“I feel sorry for [Ralf] Rangnick coming in because with this ‘interim appointment’ to the end of the season and then him going upstairs.
“There are so many uncertainties that they’ve weakened his case as a manager. The way it’s been handled has been shambolic.
“If it was Poch, if it was Erik ten Hag, it would strengthen Manchester United’s case, the way they are. It’s just been a mess, really, and very unbecoming of them.
“I think they’ll be better regardless. Pochettino is a great manager. He’d suit Manchester United down to the ground and then he could probably aim for Real Madrid later down the line.”

According to The Guardian, he is becoming increasingly frustrated by his lack of game time under interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
The revelation has ‘thrown’ United legend Ferdinand.
He told Vibe with Five : “That’s thrown me, I’ve got to be honest. If that’s real, I can’t believe it’s real.
“You can only talk like that when you’re playing well. You can only talk like that when you’re putting in performances and banging balls in the back of the net on a consistent basis — and Marcus isn’t doing that right now. He hasn’t played well for a while now.
“He doesn’t look happy at United, I’ve got to be honest. I watch Marcus and I feel like he has got the weight of the world on his shoulders.
“He doesn’t look happy and I don’t know what it is. The Marcus Rashford that came in… that is Man Utd.

“When he blazed through, he came in and you thought ‘oh my God, this is another product off that youth team conveyor belt coming through with energy, with spark, with quality, with class, aggression and a work ethic.’
“Those things I have mentioned just there are not what I am seeing with Marcus right now and I think if he was brutally honest with himself, I think he would admit that he hasn’t been on it.
“I don’t know where that information has come from, but I hope it hasn’t come from Marcus’ camp, because I would be embarrassed if that was my camp if I was I player and wasn’t scoring, which is my job.
“To be looking at his future and assessing his future, especially with the climate that we are in now with Man Utd, with the club struggling, being at a low-ebb, lacking confidence and being called out for how bad they are, to be looking at your future, you have to be playing well before talking like that, I’m sorry.”
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly an option for the Red Devils academy product.
According to the Daily Mail, PSG are keen on testing United’s resolve of the player should Kylian Mbappe depart on a free transfer.

And the Guardian claims United have narrowed down their shortlist to two candidates.
Paris Saint-Germain boss Pochettino is thought to be the players’ top choice.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag has impressed with his bold attacking tactics at Ajax.
And United are now said to be in dialogue with representatives for both men.
However, it’s reckoned Pochettino is no longer favourite for the job.
That’s because United fear PSG will put up a stiff fight to keep him in the French capital.

Poch is under contract until 2023.
But while the former Spurs boss is open to a Premier League return, PSG expect him to see out his deal unless they sack him.
That means Ten Hag is now favourite to take charge at United.
Indeed, Rangnick is said to prefer him as the next manager.
And Ten Hag is reportedly taking English lessons ahead of an anticipated move to the Theatre of Dreams.
According to bookmakers, Antonio Conte, Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone – as well as Rangnick himself – are considered the next most likely candidates.
