PAUL POGBA revealed how Manchester United pulled together after their derby mauling to put themselves back in the frame for a top-four Premier League spot.United bounced back from a 4-1 defeat at champions Manchester City the previous weekend by beating Spurs at home 3-2 on Saturday.

And Pogba says it was the perfect lift ahead of their Champions League last-16 second-leg tie against visitors Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

MANCHESTER UNITED could be without the Covid-stricken Bruno Fernandes for their Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.The Red Devils welcome Atletico to Old Trafford for the European competition’s last-16 second leg following a 1-1 draw in Spain in the first encounter.

Atletico were on the verge of victory in the first leg after Joao Felix gave them an early lead at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
Fernandes helped spare United’s blushes as he set up Anthony Elanga ten minutes from time.
But the Portuguese playmaker, 27, might not be on hand for boss Ralf Rangnick in Tuesday’s return leg as he recovers from Covid.
Fernandes was absent for United’s pulsating 3-2 win over Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday.
He returned to training at Carrington on Monday, but the former Sporting Lisbon star’s status remains unknown.
United got the job done without Fernandes – and were instead saved by the brilliance of his countryman Cristiano Ronaldo who scored an epic hat-trick.
It was the first time Ronaldo has scored a hat-trick for the Red Devils since 2008 during his initial spell at the club when they beat Newcastle 6-0.
The 37-year-old broke the record for scoring the most amount of hat-tricks in 2021 when he brought his tally to 58 – eclipsing Lionel Messi’s total of 53.

MANCHESTER UNITED are set to do battle with Newcastle to sign both Kalvin Phillips AND Antonio Rudiger, according to reports.The Red Devils are eyeing a rebuild in the summer when a new long-term managerial appointment is made.

But according to the Daily Mail, United could be rivalled by newly mega-rich Newcastle for both players’ signatures.
The Magpies have made great progress under boss Eddie Howe and their January signings have helped distance themselves from the relegation zone.
And Newcastle want more of the same in the summer by improving their midfield and defence.
