Tommy Fury claims it is HARDER fighting YouTubers than boxers and says ‘any pro will tell you that’

TOMMY FURY has claimed it’s HARDER fighting YouTubers than boxers and says “any pro will tell you that”.The 24-year-old Love Island star amassed a record of 8-0 during his fledgling career before turning his hand to mega-money influencer bouts.
Tommy Fury says it’s harder boxing YouTubers than facing prosCredit: Getty
Back in February, Fury beat Jake Paul by split-decision in Saudi Arabia to end two years of bitter feuding.
That then set him up with another blockbuster and money-spinning clash with YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI.
Their self-dubbed Battle of Britain ended contentiously a fortnight ago after Fury walked away with a points victory in a razor thin fight.
The younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury was initially awarded a majority decision but it was overturned to a unanimous victory due to a scorecard being read out incorrectly.

His rival KSI has since hired a lawyer to appeal the loss in total – something Fury laughed off.
After that last fight, Fury claimed he was done facing influencers – but now he has been discussing his experiences of facing non-pros.
And he is adamant that they are much more difficult to battle with rather than his more traditional opponents.
Fury told the Daily Mail: “I think boxing conventional boxers is easier than fighting YouTubers and novices.

“Any professional boxer will tell you that. Novices don’t know what they’re doing.
“Punches are coming from everywhere, you’re leaning out of shots and it’s horrible and messy. Whereas with a conventional boxer, they’re in front of you and you know what you’re getting. I do think it’s easier.
“In the build up to the KSI fight I was sparring with solid professionals and I was putting on clinics in the gym, so it makes me want to go back and be like ‘let me be a normal boxer and show what I can do’.
“Before I started fighting these guys, I was getting them out of there and throwing good combinations. But these guys, you throw a jab and they run 100 miles away.”
The boxer, who is engaged to fellow Love Islander Molly-Mae Hague after welcoming their first child into the world, then added on KSI: “His performance wasn’t a performance, he wasn’t there to box at all.
“Looking back on it, he was never going to stand there and trade with me because I’m a lot heavier than him. His plan was to clinch me all night. It is what it is.
“I was upset at the time because it was a massive atmosphere and build up and I wanted to have a good fight. But when you’ve got someone doing star jumps in the corner and running from corner post to corner post.
“It’s very difficult to fight someone who doesn’t want to engage or win the fight.” More

Laura had taken to her page on X, formerly known as Twitter, following coverage of Premier League team Manchester United’s latest footballing clash.
As part of her on-screen duties for TNT Sports, Laura interviewed the Old Trafford side’s boss Erik Ten Hag after his side’s 1-0 victory over Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League.
Yet in a surprise turn of the events, the Red Devils’ gaffer grabbed the microphone and chatted to her instead.
As Laura tried to wrap up the chat Laura attempted to shake his hand – yet found he turned around to her co-hosts Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand instead, leaving her hand flapping in the air.

She remarked to the duo: “How weird was that? I didn’t know what to do with my hands with no microphone.”
After the clip was posted to X, one troll remarked: “I’ll give you something to do with your hands,” presumably referring to a sexual act.
Ex TalkRadio anchor Laura – who has long been subject to sexist comments – re-posted the sordid remark and swiped: “And will you provide the microscope too?”
The remark is thought to be a catty reference to the size of the troll’s manhood, and left her fans in hysterics.

Meanwhile, off-screen, Laura’s love life is blossoming.
Love Island star Adam and Laura were first linked to each other back in September when The Sun revealed that they had enjoyed a string of dates.
Recently, Adam spoke exclusively to The Sun on how he wooed Laura – even branding her “the one.”
Geordie lad Adam has now revealed how he wooed Laura through a series of flirty social media exchanges, before wining and dining her on an “undercover date”.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Adam said: “The first time we met – I’ll hold my hands up – I did DM her first and got a reply but then nothing ever happened.
“Then she called us out for basically leaving her on read.
“It’s hard to meet people, isn’t it? I’m from Newcastle and eventually we met up, and then went on a very undercover date, and obviously what comes out in the press, comes out in the press, but it’s not always the full story.”
He then told us at The Best Heroes Awards: “I would never get in a relationship with someone at least at one point [unless] I thought they were The One.”

Molly-Mae reveals she ‘let herself down’ at Tommy Fury vs KSI and considers BANNING herself from future fights

MOLLY-MAE HAGUE feels she let herself down watching Tommy Fury beat KSI – and will consider banning herself from watching future fights. The social media influencer was a nervous wreck as her fiance edged past YouTuber-turned boxer KSI in Manchester.

But Molly-Mae admitted she watched none of the bout itself as she stared at the ground in distress.
She said in a vlog: “I more than anything slightly embarrassed myself as Tommy’s support system at the fight because honestly my head was on the ground the whole entire fight.
“I physically could not lift up my chin to look at the ring and watch the fight. I don’t know what happens to me in those situations.
“When I was younger I used to compete in competitive sports – I quit all of them – because I hate that like competition feeling I hated that environment it used to give me anxiety. I didn’t like the feeling of like being in competition with anyone.

“It’s just typical that my fiance is a boxer and I’m now like plummeted with no choice back into that lifestyle.
“I wouldn’t change it for the world because I know it makes him so happy and I’ve been over this quite a few times now but I just find it quite hard.”
Molly-Mae stayed strong up until the first bell rang as emotions took over.
She said: “I feel like I kind of let myself down.

“I really wanted to be like a strong support system for him on Saturday and I felt like I was just up until the point of the actual fight…
“Honestly guys, I was a mess, a literal mess. I couldn’t eat, couldn’t speak, literally felt like I was going to faint, be sick.
“I don’t know why I get so nervous and it wasn’t like the actual fight. I think it’s just feeling the pressure of being his support system and being the one that truly knows how he feels and knows him inside out. I don’t know what’s going on with this it’s just a mad feeling.”
Fury, 24, moved out of the £3.5million mansion he shares with Molly-Mae, also 24, and their baby daughter Bambi in Chesire.
And he is now considering his options having beaten social media sensations KSI, 30, and Jake Paul, 26, within the same year.
But KSI has now launched an appeal following his loss which proved to be controversial.

As a rematch remains in the pipeline, Molly-Mae will have to prepare for another nerve-wracking fight night.
She said: “I’ll be honest though it’s probably the last time I will ever go to a fight – I say that – it won’t be because I will drag myself there like I did with this one.”

Eddie Hearn ‘reveals’ staggering Tommy Fury earnings for YouTube fights despite Love Island star being ‘terrible’

EDDIE HEARN claimed Tommy Fury is earning millions to fight YouTube stars – despite being “terrible.” Fury, 24, beat social media sensation-turned boxer Jake Paul, 26, in their Saudi Arabia grudge match in February.

And following the tight split-decision win, he was challenged by Paul’s bitter enemy KSI, 30.
Again Fury walked away with a razor thin victory on the scorecards – and, according to Hearn, another healthy payday in the process.
Speaking on The Overlap, he said: “Tommy is a professional boxer, but he’s terrible. He’s absolutely swam the channel.
“He’s gone from making £40,000/£50,000 per fight to making £4million/£5m to fight a YouTuber.”

Fury – now 10-0 as a professional – shot to mainstream fame after meeting now fiancee Molly-Mae Hague on Love Island.
It has seen him break into the new wave of celebrity influencers fighting which brings in millions of viewers and pounds.
And Hearn defended the crossover clashes amid ridicule from boxing purists – having called Fury “terrible” just days after his KSI victory.
He said: “The ones that understand the bigger picture and the marketing side of sport get it.

“But, a lot of them are very unhappy about it. They feel like it’s very unfair.
“They’re saying ‘I’ve worked my entire life, I’ve been boxing since I was six’. But, as far as I am concerned, I don’t care. Tough s*** really.
“It doesn’t work like that. This guy has built his profile, his business and his following to a point where he has earnt to right to do whatever he wants.
“I don’t agree with the whole, it’s not fair, it’s taking opportunities away from boxers. I like to say, put it over there.

Eddie Hearn tears into ‘terrible’ Tommy Fury as Love Island star licks wounds following snoozefest with KSI

Professional boxer Fury – the brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson – put himself under immense pressure to stop KSI in the weeks leading up to the bout.
But the 24-year-old failed to deliver in what proved to be a clinch-athon of a fight, which will have done incredibly little to change Matchroom Boxing chief Hearn’s opinion of his skills.
During an appearance on the Stick to Football podcast, Hearn said of Fury: “Yes, he’s a professional boxer, but he’s terrible.
    “He’s absolutely swam the channel.

    “He’s gone from making, I don’t know, £50,000 a fight to making £4/£5m to fight a YouTuber.”
Hearn’s broadcast partners DAZN have embraced the controversial influencer boxing world, much to the annoyance of boxing purists.
But he insists it won’t overtake traditional boxing – despite its immense popularity among Gen Zers.
He said: “I think it’s a threat – anything that is going to deliver numbers.

“You have to remember that the people that make boxing grow as a sport are the broadcasters.
“As long as there is investment from the broadcasters, the sport will continue to flourish.
“Then there is something else that brings numbers, and any broadcasters that look at it, they don’t really care much or as passionately about the sport as us – they just care about the numbers.
“I don’t think it’s dangerous because I don’t think they are dangerous enough.”
Fury was far from impressed with his performance but said in his post-fight interview: “I fought my absolute heart out and that’s all you can do.
“I said from day one there will never be another Tyson Fury I’m just trying to be the best Tommy Fury that I can be.”
A frustrated KSI – real name Olijade Olatunji – fumed at the result and took aim at Fury in his interview.
He said: “Robbery, it’s a robbery. You weren’t landing, look at your face. Look at you.
“I’m the YouTuber and you’re the boxer, you have to win.”

Tommy Fury celebrates KSI win with pizza as he keeps promise after £300 cheesecake binge that followed Jake Paul fight

TOMMY FURY tucked into a huge pizza after his controversial victory over KSI on Saturday in what some say involved a huge slice of luck. And that proves that the Love Islander is sticking to his word and planning to “cram as much c**p” into his body before he prepares for his next bout.

Fury, 24, claimed a majority decision win over the YouTuber on Saturday after Logan Paul’s explosive victory over Dillon Danis.
However, it emerged afterwards that there was an error with the judges scores that read 57-56, 57-56 and 57-57.
The one official that adjudged the six-rounder to be a draw, Rafael James, failed to add up his scores correctly.
But now that has been rectified so all three scores read 57-56 in Fury’s favour and it means that the Love Island star is the winner by UNANIMOUS decision.

That comes on the back of Fury’s victory over Jake Paul back in February – where he weighed 184.5lb (13st 1lb) the night before his split-decision win in Saudi Arabia.
This time he went into his latest bout at the slimmer weight of 182.6lbs – despite gaining THREE STONE after binging on £300 worth of cheesecake plus pizzas and burgers following that triumph eight months ago.
Fury, who is dating fellow Love Islander Molly-Mae Hague and who welcomed baby Bambi Fury into the world this year, would reveal in the summer that his weight ballooned to over 16 STONE.
He explained that after restricting himself to a diet during his training camp, he makes up for lost time after the bout.

Fury said: “My logic — and it’s terrible – is that between fights I try to cram as much c**p as I can into my body so that when I have to get back in shape I’m sick of junk food.”
And he certainly did that this weekend as he shared a photo of what appeared to be two chicken, mushroom and sweetcorn pizzas on Instagram before tucking into them.
He captioned the snap with: “Been dreaming of you.”
KSI, 30, has called for a rematch and intends to appeal the result, claiming he was “robbed” but Fury, who is now 10-0, appears to have no intention of facing the YouTuber again after promising he is done with crossover boxing.
He told DAZN: “He goes his way I go mine. I’m done with all this s***. All this crossover s***.
“I’m not part of that, I’m here to fight and we go on to the next challenge now.”
