And Nunez’ medical is expected to be completed at some point today according to reports.

    Haaland makes Mahrez joke
Erling Haaland has hilariously joked that Riyad Mahrez convinced him to join Manchester City.
Last year, a clip emerged of the pair partying in Mykonos during their summer breaks.
And Mahrez responded to the clip at the time with the comment: “Agent Mahrez on duty 🕵️🏻‍♂️😂😂😂.”
He then quickly followed that up by adding: “(just having fun calm down 😂💙).”

    Arsenal confirm first summer signing
Arsenal have completed the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Marquinhos.
The Gunners have confirmed that the 19-year-old has penned a “long-term contract” after joining from Sao Paulo.
Arsenal’s technical director Edu said: “We’re delighted to have completed the transfer with Sao Paulo, as Marquinhos was a player we had been watching for a while.
“At 19, he is still very young, so he is a player for the future.
“We look forward to Marquinhos now joining us for pre-season, making his new home, and continuing to grow and develop with us.”
    Marcelo won’t retire
Ex-Real Madrid ace Marcelo has revealed he won’t retire after leaving the La Liga giants.
And he’s ready to go up against his former team-mates despite spending a chunk of his career with Los Blancos.
Marcelo said: “I won’t retire, not now.
“I feel I can still play. Facing Real Madrid won’t be a problem. I’m a big Madridista but I’m also a big professional.”
    Arsenal face transfer battle
Arsenal face stiff competition from AC Milan in the pursuit of Marco Asensio, reports claim.
Milan are determined to bring the Real Madrid striker to Italy this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.
And Milan’s director Paolo Maldini has directly contacted Real boss Carlo Ancelotti in order to make Asensio’s move to the Serie A happen, the report adds.
However, Milan will hope a move can get done soon as Man United along with the Gunners also want Asensio.
    Man United target speaks
Man United tried to pip Bayern Munich for the signing of Bayern Munich ace Ryan Gravenberch.
Gravenberch revealed to Telegraaf: “Manchester United is a very big and nice club.
“But I already had such a good feeling with Bayern and I had given them my word”
    Departing Marcelo gets Real emotional
Brazilian star Marcelo has bid an emotional goodbye to Real Madrid – but says he has no plans to retire just yet.
The 34-year-old confirmed his departure from the Bernabeu after 15 years with a press conference that moved Carlo Ancelotti and Raul to tears.
However, the Real legend says he would have no issues in facing his former colleagues in the future.
“I won’t retire, not now. I feel I can still play,” Marcelo said.
“Facing Real Madrid? It won’t be a problem. I’m a big Madridista, but I’m also a big professional.”
The left-back moves on as Los Blancos’ most-decorated player of all time, having won 25 trophies during his time in the Spanish capital.

    No official move for Antony
Erik ten Hag is said to have made Ajax winger Antony his number one transfer target – but any discussions regarding a move for the Brazilian have so far been internal between those at Old Trafford.
Transfers guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there is certainly a genuine interest in the player from the Red Devils, and rumours suggest an offer of £43m is imminent.
However, Antony’s brother – Emerson Santos – has dismissed those reports that state negotiations are much further down the line as ‘fake news’.
The 22-year-old scored 12 goals and recorded ten assists in 33 appearances for the Amsterdam club last season.
    Nat’s magic! Cherries pick Phillips
Premier League newcomers Bournemouth have contacted Liverpool about the possibility of taking Nat Phillips on loan for a second successive season.
The south coast outfit brought in the centre-back back in January, and he ended up playing a key role as the Cherries finished second in the Championship behind Fulham.
And now Scott Parker wants the 25-year-old to return to the Vitality to help them secure their status in the top-flight.
It was initially thought that Liverpool may be willing to allow Phillips to depart permanently, but reports last week suggested those at Anfield still see him as a long-term replacement to Joel Matip.
    Lewandowski agrees deal with Barca
Robert Lewandowski is poised to put pen to paper on a £175,000-per-week deal at Barcelona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the 33-year-old will sign a three-year contract with the Catalans worth £27m.
Paris Saint-Germain had threatened to hijack the deal at the eleventh hour, but the Polish superstar is said to be loyal to the LaLiga giants.
The move will speak the end of Lewandowski’s eight years at Bayern Munich, during which time he has scored as astonishing 344 times in 374 appearances.

    Poch wants Premier League return
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be axed as manager of Paris Saint-Germain imminently – but is already planning for a return to the Premier League.
The Telegraph report that the Argentine is keen to coach again in England’s top-flight, and wants to get back in the game as soon as possible.
Pochettino was favourite for the Manchester United job for several months until the emergence of Erik ten Hag, and was also linked with a return to former club Tottenham prior to Antonio Conte’s appointment.
    Fulham pushing hard for Leno
Newly-promoted Fulham are in talks to sign goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Arsenal.
The German stopper is widely expected to leave the Emirates this summer, having fallen behind Aaron Ramsdale in the pecking order, and following the arrival of back-up Matt Turner.
However, Leno’s agent Joannis Koukoutrigas believes that his player should still be considered Arsenal’s number one and could yet remain in North London.
Bild journalist Tobi Altschaffl reports Koukoutrigas as saying: “He is a German national goalkeeper, has always performed well at Arsenal and is an absolute team player.
“For me personally, Bernd is also the clear number one at Arsenal – with all due respect to the competitors.
“Fulham is trying hard to get Bernd. Very professionally. This is also true for some other clubs and shows his status. But as I said, for me he is the number one at Arsenal and we are therefore also relaxed.”

    United could flee from Frenkie
Manchester United are prepared to walk away from a move to sign Frenkie de Jong unless Barcelona lower their valuation.
A deal appeared imminent last week when De Jong revealed that he was excited by the prospect of a reunion with his former boss Erik ten Hag.
However, the two clubs now appear some way off in their agreement of a transfer fee for the 25-year-old.
Reports suggest that the Catalans are holding out for €100m while the Red Devils are reluctant to pay more than €70m.
And now sources close to United have revealed that the Premier League club are considering alternatives to the midfielder.
    No Ings-tention of selling striker
Aston Villa have ‘no intention’ of selling Danny Ings, report Sky Sports News.
The 29-year-old striker has been linked with a move to both Manchester United and Leeds United since the end of the season.
However, Steven Gerrard has dismissed the rumours, and indicated that Ings remains an integral part of his squad.
The forward arrived at Villa Park from Southampton for £25m a year ago, and scored seven goals in 31 appearances.

    Den deal? United track Dumfries
Denzel Dumfries is the latest Dutchman to be linked with Manchester United, according to report.
The Inter Milan right-back is a target for the Red Devils, and the Serie A side are supposedly ready to sell.
It’s a position that the Red Devils are aiming to strengthen with neither Aaron Wan-Bissaka not Diogo Dalot seen as the long-term answer.
The 26-year-old is renowned for his attacking threat, and scored five goals during his debut season at the San Siro last term.

    Alonso ‘confirms plans’ to leave
Marcos Alonso has reiterated his desire to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Spaniard is desperate to depart Chelsea in order to join Barcelona.
The left-back has already agreed personal terms with the LaLiga giants, and it’s now up to the club to agree a fee with Chelsea.
Alonso, 31, has scored 29 goals and provided 23 assists in 212 appearances for the Blues.

    Matic arrives at Stadio Olimpico
Nemanja Matic is in Italy today to finalise his move to Roma.
The Serbian midfielder revealed in April that he would be leaving Manchester United following the expiry of his contract.
The 33-year-old is due to link up again with Jose Mourinho, who he played under at both Chelsea and United.
Matic made 189 appearances during five years at Old Trafford,
    Erling can excel at City
Erling Haaland has joined the right club in order to fulfil his ambitions.
That’s according to Manchester City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain.
On Haaland’s unveiling, Begiristain said: “We have been monitoring Erling for several years now, so we are delighted to bring him here to Manchester City.
“He is a huge talent and has been one of the best strikers in Europe over the last few seasons. His goalscoring record is exceptional and his performances at Borussia Dortmund and in the Champions League in particular have proved he can succeed at the highest level.
“Erling has everything we want in a striker, and we are certain he will excel in this squad and this system.
“His rise has been remarkable, but he is still only 21. His best years are ahead of him, and we are confident he can get even better working with Pep.
“This is a very exciting signing for our club, and I am sure our fans will enjoy watching Erling perform in this team.”
    Hot-shot Haaland’s goalscoring record
Erling Haaland arrives at Manchester City with a reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in world football – and it’s easy to see why.
At 21 years of age, his numbers are phenomenal. The Norwegian has netted 135 times in club football, and has a further 20 goals for his country.

    Norway: 21 caps, 20 goals.
Borussia Dortmund: 89 apps, 86 goals.
RB Salzburg: 27 apps, 29 goals.
    Molde: 50 apps, 20 goals.

    Haaland speaks after joining City
Erling Haaland has spoken for the first time after his move to Manchester City was confirmed.
The 21-year-old striker said: “This is a proud day for me and my family. I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons.
“You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.
“There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions.
I want to score goals, win trophies, and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here. This is a great move for me, and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.Erling Haaland

    Breaking: City confirm Haaland signing
Manchester City have this morning confirmed the signing of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.
The striker has penned a five-year deal with the Premier League champions that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2027.
Norwegian international Haaland continues his family’a association with the City, following in the footsteps of his father, Alfie, who captained the Cityzens two decades ago.

    Take a seat, City fans
It seems like there’s news coming from the Etihad.
    Sofa, so good.

    Dembele deal edging even closer
Ousmane Dembele will soon be unveiled as a Chelsea player.
That’s according to Spanish outlet Sport (via Sports Witness), who report that ‘everything seems to indicate’ that the Barcelona forward will soon be moving to Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old is out of contract at the Nou Camp this summer, and will depart on a free transfer – just five years after joining for €105m.
The Frenchman’s time with the LaLiga giants has been hampered by injuries; in 149 appearances in all competitions, he scored 32 goals and provided 34 assists.

    Maitland-Niles heading for Forest
Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles has emerged as a transfer target for newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.
The 24-year-old looks set to finally leave the Emirates on a permanent basis after loan spells away at Roma and West Bromwich Albion.
And Steve Cooper’s Forest are considering an offer that would keep the England international in the Premier League.
Though traditionally a midfielder, Maitland-Niles has excelled as a right wing-back in the past, and could be seen as the ideal replacement for Djed Spence.
Spence starred for Forest on loan from Middlesbrough last season, but looks set to join Tottenham instead of opting for a return to the City Ground.
    Breakdown of Liverpool’s Nunez deal
Portuguese media outlet Record have supposedly revealed the details of the add-ons that could make the transfer of Darwin Nunez the biggest in Liverpool’s history.
The newspaper report that the Reds will pay Benfica an initial €75m, followed by a further €5m once he has played ten games for the club.
Should Nunez go on to make 60 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s team then another €10m will be due.
The final €10m rests on collective and individual milestones achieved during the forward’s time at Anfield.
Should Liverpool end up paying the full €100m – approximately £85m – then it will eclipse the club record £75m that they paid for Virgil van Dijk in 2018.
    Breaking: Blackburn to appoint Tomasson
Blackburn Rovers are expected to announce Jon Dahl Tomasson as their new manager in the next 48 hours, Sky Sports News have revealed.
The former Newcastle and Denmark striker will join the Championship club later this month.
The news comes after Rovers revealed they are to part company with current boss Tony Mowbray after five years in charge.
Tomasson will arrive after a successful spell at Malmo, with whom he won successive Swedish Allsvenskan titles.

DARWIN NUNEZ is poised to join Liverpool from Benfica in a deal worth up to £85.5million.The Portuguese side, who confirmed they had agreed a deal on Sunday, will receive £64.2m upfront but are set to secure another £21.5m if all the add-on requirements are met.

According to Record, Liverpool will have to pay £4.3m when Nunez plays ten matches for the Reds.
Then after 60 games for the Premier League side, Benfica will receive another £8.6m for the man who scored 34 times for them last season.
The remaining £8.6m is related to performance-based objectives, both on a personal and collective level.
Theoretically, this means Liverpool could have to pay more of the transfer fee if they scoop trophies in the coming seasons.

UNVEIL Erling Haaland, Darwin Nunez set for Liverpool medical
Nunez’s arrival at Anfield has further thrown into doubt the future of Sadio Mane.
The Senegalese forward has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich this summer.
And earlier this month Mane gave the clearest indication yet that he wants a move.
Speaking about people from Senegal wanting him to secure a transfer away from Anfield, he said: “I respect the fans and team but 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool? I’ll do what they want.”

Five times Liverpool broke their transfer record for striker and what happened to them amid Darwin Nunez’s £85m move

Jurgen Klopp has been keen to find a replacement for Bayern Munich-bound Sadio Mane, with the forward unwilling to extend his stay at Anfield.
Nunez enjoyed a stunning 2021-22 season where he chipped in with 34 goals and four assists in 41 games in all competitions.
The Uruguay international, 22, scored in both Champions League quarter-final ties against the Merseyside outfit.
Big things are expected of the ex-Almeria ace, and here SunSport takes a look at how Liverpool’s previous club-record strikers have fared at the club.

    Stan Collymore – £8.5m – 1995
In figures posted by the Liverpool Echo, the Reds forked out £8.5m on the centre-forward after his goalscoring exploits at Nottingham Forest.
At the time, the transfer broke the English record which was previously set by Andy Cole’s move to Old Trafford in January 1995.
Collymore formed a formidable partnership with Robbie Fowler, with the pair banging in a combined 55 goals in his opening season.
He fell out of favour under Roy Evans towards the end of his second year with Michael Owen preferred instead, and he was sold to Aston Villa for £7m in 1997.
In total, Collymore scored 31 goals from 81 outings in all competitions.

    Djibril Cisse – £14.5m – 2004
A popular figure amongst Liverpool fans, the Frenchman arrived from Auxerre on the back of scoring 30 goals during the 2003-04 campaign.
Injuries limited him to just five goals in 25 games in his first season, though he did score in the club’s Champions League penalty shootout victory against AC Milan.
And he would help Liverpool win the FA Cup the following year after scoring their first goal against West Ham.
Like against Milan, the fixture went to penalties, though Cisse didn’t take part in the shootout.
He was shipped off on loan to Marseille in 2006, with the French club subsequently turning his temporary stay into a permanent switch.

    Fernando Torres – £20.2m – 2007
Despite failing to win a trophy during his time at Liverpool, the Spaniard is undoubtedly one of the club’s finest strikers in the Premier League era.
Torres arrived at the club from Atletico Madrid with a huge reputation, and he showcased his lethal finishing throughout his time in Merseyside.
His first season saw him bang in 33 goals in all competitions, with 24 of those strikes coming in the top-flight.
He set a Premier League record for the most goals scored by a foreign player in a debut season in England.
Torres was also named in the PFA Team of the Year, while he was shortlisted for both the Player and Young Player of the Year awards.
After 81 goals in 142 matches, he handed in a transfer request to force through a £50m move to Chelsea in January 2011.

    Andy Carroll – £35m – 2011
The towering centre-forward was brought in alongside Luis Suarez to fill the void left by Torres.
But while Suarez flourished after joining from Ajax, Carroll failed to handle the pressure of being Britain’s most expensive player after leaving Newcastle.
Carroll banged in 11 goals in 19 Premier League games during the first half of the season, but added just two goals to his tally after making the move to Liverpool.
Nine goals followed in the 2011-12 term – including a thumping strike in the 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea.
He was flogged to West Ham on loan that summer, with the Hammers then permanently signing him where he stayed until 2019.

    Mohamed Salah – £43.9m – 2017
One of the club’s best ever signings and arguably Liverpool’s greatest player in the Premier League.
A two-time PFA Player of the Year winner, the Chelsea flop has dazzled fans since swapping Roma for the Reds.
He has banged in 156 goals in 254 games, with the forward instrumental in the club winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Club World Cup.
Salah has just one year left on his deal, and it remains to be seen whether he will extend his stay beyond 2023.

LIVERPOOL are poised to complete the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica TOMORROW. The Reds are set to pay £85million for the Uruguayan’s services.

Bayern Munich are preparing to watch star striker Robert Lewandowski walk out the door, with Barcelona hot in the Polish man’s signature.
But SunSport can reveal Man Utd are also in contention for him, but only if Barca stall on negotiations.
Elsewhere, Paul Pogba still doesn’t know who he will be playing for next season, but it’s been said he’s waiting on Zinedine Zidane’s next managerial move before he makes his decision.

Marca claims the Italians have joined the race for Suarez after slumping to a disappointing eighth-place finish in Serie A.
And with the veteran striker looking to stay in Europe this summer, Atalanta could now be in pole position for his signature.
Suarez, 35, is a free agent after leaving Atletico Madrid this month.
He scored 34 goals in 83 games for Diego Simeone’s side, winning LaLiga in 2021.
    Pirlo confirmed
    And there it is.
The most stylish man in football, Andrea Pirlo, has secured his second job in management.

The Italian has joined Turkish top-flight side Fatih Karagümrük SK.
Pirlo previously managed Juventus, where he won the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup.

Championship play-off finalists Huddersfield are edging ahead of Swansea in the chase for McAtee.

McAtee is a product of the Manchester City academy, and featured six times in total for the senior side over the course of the recent season.

    PSG part ways with Poch
Paris Saint-Germain have parted company with Mauricio Pochettino by mutual consent, according to reports.
The former Tottenham manager departs the Parc des Princes after 18 months at the helm.
According to The Athletic, both parties agreed it would be better to move on during an end of season meeting last week.
Zinedine Zidane, Jose Mourinho and Christophe Galtier are among the favourites to replace Pochettino.
    Matic to Roma edges closer
Nemanja Matic is on the cusp of becoming a Roma player.
The Serbian international will undergo a medical tomorrow in Italy before being unveiled by the Serie A club.
He will join them on a one-year deal with the option to extend, according to Fabrizio Romano.
    PSG chase Lewandowksi transfer
Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered the transfer chase to sign Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona ever since.
However, L’Equipe now claims that PSG have identified him as a top target.
And they are allegedly determined to win the race to secure his signature.
Man United are also said to be tracking the striker.
Liverpool close in on Nunez transfer
Liverpool are on the verge of completing Darwin Nunez.
The Reds will have a meeting TODAY with Benfica after having a verbal agreement that just needs signing, according to Fabrizio Romano.
A five-year contract has been agreed.
And the transfer fee will be £68m plus a £17m add on fee.
    Lewandowski exit looms
Robert Lewandowski is set to leave Bayern this summer
But Bayern are wasting no time in finding his replacement.
The German giants have already identified a few options who can fill the Pole’s boots.
That’s the admission Bayern’s transfer chief Hasan Salihamidzic made when talking on the club’s transfer plans.
He said: “We’re working on several options in attack.”

The Scotland U21 international could provide cover for starting right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
It would also allow Joe Gomez to play in his natural position in the centre of the defence, if he remains at the club.
Gomez played ten times at right-back last season.
Liverpool are also closing in on a club record transfer.

The Reds are on course to sign highly rated Benfica forward Darwin Nunez for £85m.
Boss Jurgen Klopp gave Nunez a glowing report when Liverpool narrowly beat Benfica in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Nunez netted two across both legs and saw a further two chalked off for offside, denying him a hat-trick at Anfield. More

Man Utd ‘in contact with Darwin Nunez agent’ in bid to hijack Liverpool transfer – but striker prefers Anfield move

MANCHESTER UNITED have contacted the agent of Darwin Nunez in a desperate bid to hijack Liverpool’s move for the striker, according to reports. The 22-year-old was rumoured to be in line for a move to Old Trafford before Liverpool came roaring in with a bid said to be worth up £80million.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported United have been in contact with the striker’s agent, but denied suggestions of a meeting with new United boss Erik ten Hag.
However, it is understood that Nunez would prefer a move to Anfield.
Whether a move manages to be completed could depend on Liverpool and Benfica striking an agreement on how to structure the deal.
Liverpool want to do the deal in instalments and are also haggling over the add-on which could be attached to a deal for him, with Benfica demanding £17million in performance-related extras.

The 35 cap England international is allegedly “desperate” for more first-team football and is looking to leave the Reds this term.
Manchester United have been linked with a surprising £10m move for want-away Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Now talkSPORT claims that the Red Devils would be ‘seriously interested’ in signing him.
However, that will only be if Liverpool are ready to accept a cut-price £10 million for the attacker.

New United boss Erik ten Hag is looking for reinforcements in the middle of the park following the exits of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.
He has been heavily linked with Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong – a player he formerly managed at Ajax.
But this fresh link suggests that he could also be plotting an historic move to make Oxlade-Chamberlain the first player to transfer between the two North West rivals since Phil Chisnall in 1964.
United’s legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson previously revealed that he wanted to sign Ox from Southampton way back in 2011.

He said: “Alex Chamberlain is only young but he has potential.”
Fergie suffered disappointment that summer when the ace joined Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal instead.
He went on to win the FA Cup three times during his six-year stint at the Emirates.
Oxlade-Chamberlain left London for Merseyside in 2017 and has made 133 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 17 times, but his time there has been heavily disrupted by injury.
Despite that, he has still managed to add a Premier League title, another FA Cup and EFL Cup medal to his collection.
He also lifted the Uefa Super Cup and Fifa Club World Cup in 2019 with Jurgen Klopp’s team. More

But according to Portuguese reporter Pedro Sepulveda, United aren’t ready to give up on signing the Uruguayan.
Sepulveda told Sky Sports earlier today that Red Devils chiefs are set to meet with Nunez’s agent Jorge Mendes.
He claims that United will try and find a way to complete a deal for the Benfica star under Liverpool’s noses.
The report adds, however, that the player himself has his heart set on the Reds and is already thinking about playing at Anfield.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein claims that Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Nunez.
He adds that negotiations remain ongoing between the two clubs regarding the structure of the transfer.
Liverpool are hoping to raise funds for Nunez by selling Mane for at least £43m.
The Reds have so far turned down two bids from Bayern Munich for the 30-year-old with the latest worth an initial £23.5m plus a potential further £6.5m in add-ons.
Liverpool announced the departures of seven players today, including forward Divock Origi.
The Belgian is expected to join AC Milan on a free transfer. More
