Real Madrid ‘in talks over stunning £78m Jude Bellingham transfer’ in bid to beat Liverpool and Man Utd to England star

REAL MADRID are reportedly eyeing up a sensational £78million swoop for Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham. The 18-year-old international, who is under contract until 2025, has been heavily linked with a move to both Liverpool and Manchester United – with Jurgen Klopp’s side reportedly making a formal offer.

However, Spanish and European champions Real Madrid could well steal the teenager away from the Premier League sides.
According to Cadena Ser, Los Blancos are keen to sign the Dortmund man in the summer of 2023.
That is because by the end of next season they are confident Vinicius Junior will have a Spanish passport – freeing up a non-EU place in their squad.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side currently have a full quota of non-EU players on their roster.

OFFER Christian Eriksen deal, Barcelona ‘drop De Jong price to £70m’
But they remain keen on Bellingham and are hoping a price of £78m can prise him away from the Bundesliga side.
Bellingham has scored ten goals and provided 18 assists in 90 games for the German outfit.
Dortmund do not want to sell the midfielder this summer because they have just lost Erling Haaland to Manchester City – less than 12 months after selling Jadon Sancho to Manchester United.
Offloading Bellingham next year would give Madrid time to work on negotiations for the player as they look to add fresh legs to their midfield.

The Spanish giants won the Champions League this year with an ageing trio of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro.
And while all three remain formidable players, Madrid are clearly keen to bring through the next generation.
They already have 19-year-old Eduardo Camavinga in their midst – a player who was key to their Champions League triumph.
Aurelien Tchouameni has also been signed by the club, with Bellingham potentially the final player in Madrid’s future midfield trio. More

Nunez was snapped at Liverpool’s training ground on Tuesday morning

He netted 34 goals in 41 appearances – while also contributing four assists.
The South American even netted against Liverpool in both legs of their Champions League quarter-final last season.
A move to Manchester United was mooted, but it is now Merseyside where the talented youngster will be playing his football.
The £85m fee eclipses Liverpool’s previous record – which stood at £75m for Virgil van Dijk.

“I’ve played against Liverpool and I’ve seen them in lots of games in the Champions League, and it’s my style of play. There are some great players here and I think it’s going to suit my style of play here.
“As I say, I’ve watched quite a lot and it’s a very big club and I hope I can give everything that I’ve got in order to help the team.”
It is understood that Nunez will earn around £120,000-a-week after agreeing a six-year deal until 2028.
He will wear the number 27 shirt at Anfield, recently vacated by cult hero Divock Origi.
Nunez added: “When I arrived at the training ground, I was really surprised to see the set-up and the structure and all the trophies here.
“You can then imagine yourself winning more trophies and then later on when you come here again and see the trophies on display, you can say, ‘Look, I was a part of that, I was there at that time, winning trophies.’
“That’s one of the reasons why I came here to Liverpool – to win trophies and titles. I want to win a lot of trophies at Liverpool.”
Nunez joins Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane in the Liverpool squad.
However, Mane has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich this summer.
With one year left on his contract, the 30-year-old is keen for a new challenge having won every trophy on offer with Liverpool.
Bayern are desperate to bring him to the Allianz Arena, but they are currently £8m short of matching Liverpool’s asking price.

Bayern Munich ‘preparing third Sadio Mane transfer bid worth £34.6m after Liverpool star agrees three-year deal’

SADIO MANE has reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with Bayern with the Germans to submit an improved transfer offer to Liverpool.Mane, 30, rocked Liverpool after deciding to quit Anfield this summer.
Bayern are closing in on a deal for Liverpool star Sadio ManeCredit: Rex
The main interest in his services have come from German champions Bayern, who have seen two bids already rejected.
However, a fresh report from Bild indicates Mane has agreed personal terms on a three-year deal, with the Bavarians ready to submit a new and improved offer of £34.6million.
Jurgen Klopp will not stand in the way of a deal for Mane, who was one of the first signings he made as Liverpool boss when he brought him to the club in 2016.
The main sticking point comes down to whether Liverpool will see this bid as acceptable considering their valuation of £42million for the winger.

The structure of this deal is said to be at least £30million up front, with the rest coming as add-ons.
Bayern’s second offer for Mane also included add-ons, but Liverpool laughed off the bid which contained some outrageous clauses, including one which required Mane to win the Ballon d’Or three years in a row.
That bid also only came out to a maximum of £30million. With a much more serious bid tabled there could be some movement in the coming days.
Mane’s Senegal coach Aliou Cisse has urged Mane to make the switch, saying he thinks the 30-year-old will “feel best” with a new challenge at Bayern.

    Raphinha transfer race heats up
Arsenal and Tottenham have both joined the race to sign Leeds star Raphinha, according to reports.
But according to The Athletic, there are now concerns the Catalan giants may not be able to fund a deal for the tricky forward.
Barcelona have debts totalling more than £1billion and are operating under tight financial constraints.
That could open the door for Arsenal and Tottenham to steal Raphinha from under the nose of Xavi.
    Nunez’s Man United snub discussed
Darwin Nunez’s decision to join Liverpool over Man IUnited shows the Red Devils’ decline, according to Luke Chadwick.
He told Caught Offside: “It shows where United are at this moment in time, sadly.
“If you’re a player coming from overseas at this moment in time, unfortunately, Liverpool are a more attractive proposition.
“Nunez has shown he’s got to the potential to be a really successful Premier League player, so it’s a disappointment for United to miss out.
“But it’s not surprising at all really, considering the direction Liverpool are going in, in comparison to United.”
    Man United make Eriksen offer
Man United have made an offer to sign Christian Eriksen, according to reports.
The midfielder, 30, is available on a free at the end of the month with his Brentford contract expiring.
And now United are looking to take advantage of his contract situation by offering the Danish international a deal, report The Athletic.
But it seems the Red Devils are not the only club interested in snatching Eriksen away from Brentford.
Tottenham are reportedly keen to lure Eriksen back to north London and can offer him the added incentive of Champions League football.
    Matic completes Roma transfer
Roma have competed the signing of Nemanja Matic on a free transfer from Manchester United.
Matic, 33, has penned a one-year deal that will expire in June 2023.
During his first interview with the club he hinted that he made the switch in order to reunite with Jose Mourinho, who lured him to Old Trafford in 2017.
He said: “I am pleased and honoured to be joining this club and I cannot wait to start the new season with my teammates.
“Roma is a big club, with amazing fans and a coach, Jose Mourinho, who is well known to everyone – making the decision to come here very straightforward.
“I hope that by working together we are able to achieve some great things.”
    Hammers to sign Areola permanently
West Ham United are expected to exercise the option to sign goalkeeper Alphonse Areola from Paris-Saint Germain following his year on loan at the London Stadium.
That’s the understanding of Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, who reports that talks are ongoing with the player’s representatives regarding personal terms.
The 29-year-old – previously at Fulham – played second fiddle to Lukasz Fabianski for much of last season, but was considered the Hammers’ number one for cup competitions.
And should Areola agree to a permanent deal – thought to be in the region of £11m – then it is expected that the French international will also take the gloves for Premier League games in the future.

    Partey over for Arsenal?
Arsenal could face a nervous summer in their attempt to keep hold of midfielder Thomas Partey.
Italian media outlet Tuttosport believe that Juventus are keen on bringing in the Ghanaian to play alongside Paul Pogba.
However, any offer from the Serie A side will depend on whether they are able to move on Arthur Melo.
While the suggestion of an ‘ambitious’ swap deal involving Party and the Brazilian Melo has been flagged by the Turin club, no official offer has been lodged.
The 29-year-old Partey joined the Gunners for £45m in October 2020, but has seen his progress at the Emirates hampered by a series of niggling injuries.
    Young in Villa extension talks
Ashley Young and Aston Villa are in talks about a 12-month contract extension, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 36-year-old’s current deal is due to expire at the end of this month, but Steven Gerrard is open to the prospect of keeping the experienced utility player.
Young made 25 appearances after re-joining Villa last summer from Inter Milan, having previously played 190 times for the club between 2007 and 2011.

    Frenkie de Jong ‘talks ongoing’
Negotiations between Manchester United and Barcelona are ‘ongoing’ despite the clubs remaining some distance apart in their valuation of Frenkie de Jong.
However, despite yesterday’s news that the Red Devils would walk away if no agreement was imminent, Sky now report that that there is a growing belief on both sides that a deal can be done.
Barca, who had been holding out for €100m for the Dutchman, are now said to be willing to accept a guaranteed €85m offer.
De Jong is considered happy at the Nou Camp, but would also be open to a reunion with Erik ten Hag, who previously coached him at Ajax.

Tottenham are ‘quietly confident’ of re-signing him, Manchester United believe they are in the mix, while Newcastle admit they have to work to do if they are to get their man.
When it comes to the future of Christian Eriksen, one thing is certain: he will be leaving Brentford this summer.
The 30-year-old signed a short-term deal with the Bees in January as he returned to football following his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.
The Danish international proved himself to be a class apart during his five months in West London.
Thomas Frank had hoped Eriksen would extend his stay at the Brentford Community Stadium, but the Northern Echo have today confirmed that is no an option for the midfielder.
    It’s Spurs for Spence
In-demand defender Djed Spence’s preference is a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Middlesbrough right-back has been watched by some of Europe’s biggest clubs since excelling on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, and has now made a decision on his future.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Spence favours a move to Spurs over other suitors, and now hopes the Londoners can agree a fee with Boro.
Negotiations between the two clubs are said to be ongoing.

    De Ligt deal back on?
In need of comfort after the disappointing news of Jules Kounde’s surgery, Chelsea fans? Then how about this: a move for Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt could be back on the table.
The Dutch defender was reportedly poised to put pen to paper on a new deal with the Old Lady, but the player now states that no agreement has been reached.
Instead, Football Italia believes Chelsea are leading the race to sign the 22-year-old ahead of Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.
Journalist Dean Jones has previously gone on record to say that De Ligt was ‘the dream’ signing for Chelsea.
The centre-back has a €120m release clause within in his contract, which will raise to €140m next season if no offers are forthcoming.

    Gunners in scrap for Scamacca
Arsenal could be about to find themselves frustrated in their bid to land another striker.
The Gunners have recently been linked with a £43m move for Sassuolo hotshot Gianluca Scamacca, who fired 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances last season.
However, it is now being rumoured that some of Europe’s biggest clubs are also interested in the 23-year-old.
According to reports, Juventus, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan are all keeping tabs on Scamacca.
The forward has four years to run on his current deal in Modena, having signed a contract extension back in April.

    Breaking: Burnley appoint Kompany
Manchester City and Belgium legend Vincent Kompany has been named as the new manager of Burnley.
Kompany returns to England having spent the past three years in charge of Anderlecht in his homeland.
The Clarets, recently-relegated from the Premier League, had been in talks with the former centre-back since May, and have now officially announced the deal.
Speaking to the Burnley website, Kompany said: “Burnley Football Club is a truly historic English side and it is an honour to be appointed first-team manager. I’m excited by the challenge ahead.
“I’m looking forward to getting to work with the players and creating a positive, winning team for our fans when we return to Turf Moor.
“I’ve been impressed by the Board’s vision for the club which aligns with my own and I look forward to playing my part as we enter an important season.”

Vitinha release fee to be triggered
An unnamed Premier League club are on the verge of triggering Vitinha’s €40m release fee.
Portuguese media (via Sports Witness) understand that the Porto midfielder’s buyout clause will be met, freeing him up to discuss terms over a move abroad.
While the identity of the English club involved in the deal remains a mystery, the 22-year-old has been frequently linked with Manchester United.
Vitinha spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Wolves, but made little impact across 22 appearances in all competitions.
However, his impressive performances last term helped Porto to a domestic double, and led to him breaking into the national team setup.

    Toon’s issue ultimatum to Lille
Newcastle United have told Lille to take it or leave it after they offered £30m for Sven Botman.
The north-east outfit were expected to complete the capture of the Dutch defender early in the window without issue.
However, the Ligue 1 club have since moved the goalposts on the deal, and now are demanding a bigger transfer fee, according to The Telegraph.
As a result, the Toon Army are ready to pull the plug on the move, and turn their attention towards either Nathan Ake or Lloyd Kelly.

    Spurs ‘confident’ of re-signing Eriksen
Tottenham have been busy conducting their business early this summer – and could yet add a fan favourite to their recent recruits.
After signing Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic, they are now on the verge of capturing Brighton’s Yves Bissouma.
But it’s perhaps the return of Christian Eriksen that excites supporters most.
The Times believe the North London club are ‘quietly confident’ in completing a deal for the Dane, who made more than 300 appearances during his first spell with Spurs.
The 30-year-old is available on a free transfer following the expiry of his short-term contract with Brentford.
The Bees are keen to keep Eriksen, who has also been linked with Manchester United.
    Breaking: Kounde to undergo surgery
Chelsea transfer target Jules Kounde is to undergo surgery on a long-standing injury, it has been revealed.
The defender was subbed off at half-time in France’s 1-0 Nations League defeat to Croatia last night, and afterwards Didier Deschamps announced that the 23-year-old required treatment.
“I knew very well his physical condition,” the French coach stated.
“As of tomorrow, he will have an intervention because he has a problem that dates back several months.”
While Kounde is expected to recuperate in time for pre-season, the news has cast doubt on the player’s expected move to Stamford Bridge.

    Leeds ready to Roca roll
Leeds United have agreed personal terms with Marc Roca.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Elland Road outfit have settled on a four-year contract for the Bayern Munich midfielder, and are now preparing to negotiate further with the Spaniard’s club.
The talks between Leeds and Bayern are understood to be progressing well, and a deal in the region of €15m appears likely.
Jesse Marsch is eager to bring in the 25-year-old Roca, who has made 24 appearances for the Bundesliga champions since joining from Espanyol in 2020.
    Martinelli confirms intention to stay
Gabriel Martinelli has seemingly dismissed speculation linking him with a move away from Arsenal.
The 20-year-old enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season in the Premier League, notching six goals and six assists in 29 appearances.
His performances caught the eye of many clubs across Europe, and it was feared they could tempt the winger away after the Gunners missed out on Champions League football.
However, in welcoming another young Brazilian to the club, he now appears to have indicated that his immediate future remains at the Emirates.
Acknowledging the signing of Marquinhos, Martinelli wrote on his Instagram story: “Welcome brother, we’re together.”

    Spurs agree fee for Bissouma
Tottenham are set to sign Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma after agreeing a £25m fee, according to The Times.
The 25-year-old, who has been a long-term target for the Londoners, has just 12 months remaining on his contract at the Amex.
Spurs are confident that they will now agree personal terms with the Mali international, and he could complete a medical by the end of the week.
Bissouma joined Brighton from Lille in 2018, and has gone on to make 124 appearances for the club.
    Hey Jude! Real want Bellingham
Real Madrid are desperate to land England teen sensation Jude Bellingham – and are willing to spend up to €100m on the midfielder.
The Ser report that the Champions League winners have already made contact with the representatives of the Borussia Dortmund star, and are hopeful that a deal can be completed.
Bellingham moves to the Bundesliga from Birmingham in 2020, and has developed into one of the brightest talents in the game.
At 18, he has already won 14 caps for his country, and looks set to be a mainstay of the Three Lions’ midfield for many years to come.

    Nantes fancy Brice little earner
Ligue 1 club Nantes have made an approach to sign Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba.
The Congolese stopper stunned the Premier League newcomers last week when it was revealed that he plans to leave the club.
The 28-year-old was the star of Forest’s play-off success, making a string of fine saves in the semi-final against Sheffield United before his penalty shootout heroics.
However, Samba rejected the offer of a new contract at the City Ground, and hopes to return to France, where he has spent most of his career.
    Richarlison will cost Spurs £50m+
Everton have told Tottenham that they will have to pay in excess of £50m if they want to sign Richarlison.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who report that Spurs have targeted the 25-year-old as the player they want to boost their forward line.
The Brazilian played a key role in helping the Toffees beat the drop in the Premier League last season, and has two years remaining on his Goodison Park contract.
In the circumstances, the Merseysiders believe they can slap the huge asking price on their star player.
Antonio Conte’s men are currently thought to be the only side that have made an approach for Richarlison.

    Breaking: Blackburn Rovers appoint Tomasson
Championship club Blackburn Rovers have confirmed Jon Dahl Tomasson as their new head coach.
The former Newcastle, AC Milan and Denmark striker moves to Ewood Park on a three-year contract.
Tomasson replaces Tony Mowbray, who was told in April that he would be let go after five years in charge of the Lancashire outfit.
The 45-year-old Dane arrives having previously coached Malmo, who he led to successive Swedish titles as well as the Champions League group stage.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Tomasson said: “I’m really proud and excited to be taking over as Head Coach of Blackburn Rovers – a club with a lot of tradition and also great ambition.
“We have a young team here, and also a great academy, and the owners have a clear vision, which is to develop players and become a sustainable Premier League club over time, so I’m really happy to be involved in this exciting new chapter for the club.”

    Departing Marcelo gets Real emotional
Brazilian star Marcelo has bid an emotional goodbye to Real Madrid – but says he has no plans to retire just yet.
The 34-year-old confirmed his departure from the Bernabeu after 15 years with a press conference that moved Carlo Ancelotti and Raul to tears.
However, the Real legend says he would have no issues in facing his former colleagues in the future.
“I won’t retire, not now. I feel I can still play,” Marcelo said.
“Facing Real Madrid? It won’t be a problem. I’m a big Madridista, but I’m also a big professional.”

    No official move for Antony
Erik ten Hag is said to have made Ajax winger Antony his number one transfer target – but any discussions regarding a move for the Brazilian have so far been internal between those at Old Trafford.
Transfers guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that there is certainly a genuine interest in the player from the Red Devils, and rumours suggest an offer of £43m is imminent.
However, Antony’s brother – Emerson Santos – has dismissed those reports that state negotiations are much further down the line as ‘fake news’.
The 22-year-old scored 12 goals and recorded ten assists in 33 appearances for the Amsterdam club last season.
    Nat’s magic! Cherries pick Phillips
Premier League newcomers Bournemouth have contacted Liverpool about the possibility of taking Nat Phillips on loan for a second successive season.
The south coast outfit brought in the centre-back back in January, and he ended up playing a key role as the Cherries finished second in the Championship behind Fulham.
And now Scott Parker wants the 25-year-old to return to the Vitality to help them secure their status in the top-flight.
It was initially thought that Liverpool may be willing to allow Phillips to depart permanently, but reports last week suggested those at Anfield still see him as a long-term replacement to Joel Matip.
    Lewandowski agrees deal with Barca
Robert Lewandowski is poised to put pen to paper on a £175,000-per-week deal at Barcelona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the 33-year-old will sign a three-year contract with the Catalans worth £27m.
Paris Saint-Germain had threatened to hijack the deal at the eleventh hour, but the Polish superstar is said to be loyal to the LaLiga giants.
The move will speak the end of Lewandowski’s eight years at Bayern Munich, during which time he has scored as astonishing 344 times in 374 appearances.

    Poch wants Premier League return
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be axed as manager of Paris Saint-Germain imminently – but is already planning for a return to the Premier League.
The Telegraph report that the Argentine is keen to coach again in England’s top-flight, and wants to get back in the game as soon as possible.
Pochettino was favourite for the Manchester United job for several months until the emergence of Erik ten Hag, and was also linked with a return to former club Tottenham prior to Antonio Conte’s appointment.
    Fulham pushing hard for Leno
Newly-promoted Fulham are in talks to sign goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Arsenal.
The German stopper is widely expected to leave the Emirates this summer, having fallen behind Aaron Ramsdale in the pecking order, and following the arrival of back-up Matt Turner.
However, Leno’s agent Joannis Koukoutrigas believes that his player should still be considered Arsenal’s number one and could yet remain in North London.
Bild journalist Tobi Altschaffl reports Koukoutrigas as saying: “He is a German national goalkeeper, has always performed well at Arsenal and is an absolute team player.
“For me personally, Bernd is also the clear number one at Arsenal – with all due respect to the competitors.
“Fulham is trying hard to get Bernd. Very professionally. This is also true for some other clubs and shows his status. But as I said, for me he is the number one at Arsenal and we are therefore also relaxed.”

Cisse said: “It’s not just Sadio, I’m going to talk about it for all those players who are in a situation where they have to find a club. It’s complicated.
“Why? Because it is all this problem that awaits us for the World Cup which is in November.

“And I tell my boys to try to settle the contract problems so that when their respective championships resume, they will have already found a base. I heard about Sadio at Bayern.
“Bayern is intensity, pressure football with a German coach. Sadio played in Salzburg in Austria which is a border country, and that means he is not going into unknown territory.
“For me, the club where he will feel the best is Bayern.”
Liverpool have confirmed an agreement to sign 22-year-old Benfica striker Darwin Nunez for £85million.

This deal is likely to account for Mane’s expected departure, though either Bayern will need to up their bid or Liverpool lower their valuation.
On Bayern’s end, Robert Lewandowski is expected to leave as well, with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona said to be interested.
Mane has scored 120 goals in 269 games for Liverpool since joining from Southampton in 2016. More

    Haaland makes Mahrez joke
Erling Haaland has hilariously joked that Riyad Mahrez convinced him to join Manchester City.
Last year, a clip emerged of the pair partying in Mykonos during their summer breaks.
And Mahrez responded to the clip at the time with the comment: “Agent Mahrez on duty 🕵️🏻‍♂️😂😂😂.”
He then quickly followed that up by adding: “(just having fun calm down 😂💙).”

    Arsenal confirm first summer signing
Arsenal have completed the signing of Brazilian wonderkid Marquinhos.
The Gunners have confirmed that the 19-year-old has penned a “long-term contract” after joining from Sao Paulo.
Arsenal’s technical director Edu said: “We’re delighted to have completed the transfer with Sao Paulo, as Marquinhos was a player we had been watching for a while.
“At 19, he is still very young, so he is a player for the future.
“We look forward to Marquinhos now joining us for pre-season, making his new home, and continuing to grow and develop with us.”
    Marcelo won’t retire
Ex-Real Madrid ace Marcelo has revealed he won’t retire after leaving the La Liga giants.
And he’s ready to go up against his former team-mates despite spending a chunk of his career with Los Blancos.
Marcelo said: “I won’t retire, not now.
“I feel I can still play. Facing Real Madrid won’t be a problem. I’m a big Madridista but I’m also a big professional.”
    Arsenal face transfer battle
Arsenal face stiff competition from AC Milan in the pursuit of Marco Asensio, reports claim.
Milan are determined to bring the Real Madrid striker to Italy this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.
And Milan’s director Paolo Maldini has directly contacted Real boss Carlo Ancelotti in order to make Asensio’s move to the Serie A happen, the report adds.
However, Milan will hope a move can get done soon as Man United along with the Gunners also want Asensio.
    Man United target speaks
Man United tried to pip Bayern Munich for the signing of Bayern Munich ace Ryan Gravenberch.
Gravenberch revealed to Telegraaf: “Manchester United is a very big and nice club.
“But I already had such a good feeling with Bayern and I had given them my word”
The left-back moves on as Los Blancos’ most-decorated player of all time, having won 25 trophies during his time in the Spanish capital.

    United could flee from Frenkie
Manchester United are prepared to walk away from a move to sign Frenkie de Jong unless Barcelona lower their valuation.
A deal appeared imminent last week when De Jong revealed that he was excited by the prospect of a reunion with his former boss Erik ten Hag.
However, the two clubs now appear some way off in their agreement of a transfer fee for the 25-year-old.
Reports suggest that the Catalans are holding out for €100m while the Red Devils are reluctant to pay more than €70m.
And now sources close to United have revealed that the Premier League club are considering alternatives to the midfielder.
    No Ings-tention of selling striker
Aston Villa have ‘no intention’ of selling Danny Ings, report Sky Sports News.
The 29-year-old striker has been linked with a move to both Manchester United and Leeds United since the end of the season.
However, Steven Gerrard has dismissed the rumours, and indicated that Ings remains an integral part of his squad.
The forward arrived at Villa Park from Southampton for £25m a year ago, and scored seven goals in 31 appearances.

    Den deal? United track Dumfries
Denzel Dumfries is the latest Dutchman to be linked with Manchester United, according to report.
The Inter Milan right-back is a target for the Red Devils, and the Serie A side are supposedly ready to sell.
It’s a position that the Red Devils are aiming to strengthen with neither Aaron Wan-Bissaka not Diogo Dalot seen as the long-term answer.
The 26-year-old is renowned for his attacking threat, and scored five goals during his debut season at the San Siro last term.

    Alonso ‘confirms plans’ to leave
Marcos Alonso has reiterated his desire to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the Spaniard is desperate to depart Chelsea in order to join Barcelona.
The left-back has already agreed personal terms with the LaLiga giants, and it’s now up to the club to agree a fee with Chelsea.
Alonso, 31, has scored 29 goals and provided 23 assists in 212 appearances for the Blues.

    Matic arrives at Stadio Olimpico
Nemanja Matic is in Italy today to finalise his move to Roma.
The Serbian midfielder revealed in April that he would be leaving Manchester United following the expiry of his contract.
The 33-year-old is due to link up again with Jose Mourinho, who he played under at both Chelsea and United.
Matic made 189 appearances during five years at Old Trafford,
    Erling can excel at City
Erling Haaland has joined the right club in order to fulfil his ambitions.
That’s according to Manchester City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain.
On Haaland’s unveiling, Begiristain said: “We have been monitoring Erling for several years now, so we are delighted to bring him here to Manchester City.
“He is a huge talent and has been one of the best strikers in Europe over the last few seasons. His goalscoring record is exceptional and his performances at Borussia Dortmund and in the Champions League in particular have proved he can succeed at the highest level.
“Erling has everything we want in a striker, and we are certain he will excel in this squad and this system.
“His rise has been remarkable, but he is still only 21. His best years are ahead of him, and we are confident he can get even better working with Pep.
“This is a very exciting signing for our club, and I am sure our fans will enjoy watching Erling perform in this team.”
    Hot-shot Haaland’s goalscoring record
Erling Haaland arrives at Manchester City with a reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in world football – and it’s easy to see why.
At 21 years of age, his numbers are phenomenal. The Norwegian has netted 135 times in club football, and has a further 20 goals for his country.

    Norway: 21 caps, 20 goals.
Borussia Dortmund: 89 apps, 86 goals.
RB Salzburg: 27 apps, 29 goals.
    Molde: 50 apps, 20 goals.

    Haaland speaks after joining City
Erling Haaland has spoken for the first time after his move to Manchester City was confirmed.
The 21-year-old striker said: “This is a proud day for me and my family. I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons.
“You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.
“There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions.
I want to score goals, win trophies, and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here. This is a great move for me, and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season.Erling Haaland

    Breaking: City confirm Haaland signing
Manchester City have this morning confirmed the signing of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland.
The striker has penned a five-year deal with the Premier League champions that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2027.
Norwegian international Haaland continues his family’a association with the City, following in the footsteps of his father, Alfie, who captained the Cityzens two decades ago.

    Take a seat, City fans
It seems like there’s news coming from the Etihad.
    Sofa, so good.

    Dembele deal edging even closer
Ousmane Dembele will soon be unveiled as a Chelsea player.
That’s according to Spanish outlet Sport (via Sports Witness), who report that ‘everything seems to indicate’ that the Barcelona forward will soon be moving to Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old is out of contract at the Nou Camp this summer, and will depart on a free transfer – just five years after joining for €105m.
The Frenchman’s time with the LaLiga giants has been hampered by injuries; in 149 appearances in all competitions, he scored 32 goals and provided 34 assists.

    Maitland-Niles heading for Forest
Arsenal’s Ainsley Maitland-Niles has emerged as a transfer target for newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.
The 24-year-old looks set to finally leave the Emirates on a permanent basis after loan spells away at Roma and West Bromwich Albion.
And Steve Cooper’s Forest are considering an offer that would keep the England international in the Premier League.
Though traditionally a midfielder, Maitland-Niles has excelled as a right wing-back in the past, and could be seen as the ideal replacement for Djed Spence.
Spence starred for Forest on loan from Middlesbrough last season, but looks set to join Tottenham instead of opting for a return to the City Ground.
    Breakdown of Liverpool’s Nunez deal
Portuguese media outlet Record have supposedly revealed the details of the add-ons that could make the transfer of Darwin Nunez the biggest in Liverpool’s history.
The newspaper report that the Reds will pay Benfica an initial €75m, followed by a further €5m once he has played ten games for the club.
Should Nunez go on to make 60 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s team then another €10m will be due.
The final €10m rests on collective and individual milestones achieved during the forward’s time at Anfield.
Should Liverpool end up paying the full €100m – approximately £85m – then it will eclipse the club record £75m that they paid for Virgil van Dijk in 2018.
    Breaking: Blackburn to appoint Tomasson
Blackburn Rovers are expected to announce Jon Dahl Tomasson as their new manager in the next 48 hours, Sky Sports News have revealed.
The former Newcastle and Denmark striker will join the Championship club later this month.
The news comes after Rovers revealed they are to part company with current boss Tony Mowbray after five years in charge.
Tomasson will arrive after a successful spell at Malmo, with whom he won successive Swedish Allsvenskan titles.

According to Record, Liverpool will have to pay £4.3m when Nunez plays ten matches for the Reds.
Then after 60 games for the Premier League side, Benfica will receive another £8.6m for the man who scored 34 times for them last season.
The remaining £8.6m is related to performance-based objectives, both on a personal and collective level.
Theoretically, this means Liverpool could have to pay more of the transfer fee if they scoop trophies in the coming seasons.

UNVEIL Erling Haaland, Darwin Nunez set for Liverpool medical
Nunez’s arrival at Anfield has further thrown into doubt the future of Sadio Mane.
The Senegalese forward has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich this summer.
And earlier this month Mane gave the clearest indication yet that he wants a move.
Speaking about people from Senegal wanting him to secure a transfer away from Anfield, he said: “I respect the fans and team but 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool? I’ll do what they want.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s signing of Nunez comes at the same time as title rivals Manchester City confirmed the arrival of Erling Haaland.
And both teams are keen to strengthen their squads ahead of another title battle next season.
As well as Nunez, Liverpool have secured Fabio Carvalho from Fulham.
Meanwhile, City already snapped up Julian Alvarez in January before sending him back on loan until the summer.
City have also been linked with a move for Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips. More
