Fowler, 47, insists that the label “held him back” in his career and that he has tried to get rid of it.
He told The Telegraph: “The Spice Boy thing was a nickname and the fact that we never won anything played a big part in it.
“Stories have grown arms and legs and I have tried to get rid of that.
“Nobody knows anything about me and that’s something I am quite proud of.

“No one knows what I am like. People have this perceived idea.
“What I am now is I am probably quite boring.
“I understood what a dressing room needed years ago but people still have that idea of me as laughing and joking and not to be taken seriously.”
Fowler had two spells with Liverpool, the first at the start of his career from 1993 to 2001 and the second stint from 2006 to 2007.

In total, the striker scored 183 goals for the Reds in all competitions.
His ability on the pitch often led people to praise him as “naturally gifted”.
However, this is a description that he does not agree with.
He added: “What was I like as a player? I worked harder than anyone else.
“I hate using this, because it sounds egotistical, but I was always deemed as one of the most ‘naturally gifted’ strikers.
“Quite frankly, it annoys me because of the hours and hours of practice I put in, the monotony of doing the repetition to make it look natural.
    “It’s like second nature.
“If you are doing something all the time it makes it looks natural but it was only because I did hours and hours of practice.
“That’s my perception… I wore my heart on my sleeve, I wanted to be better than anyone else and there were times when I got carried away on a football pitch.”

Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been linked with the ex-Birmingham City midfield ace.
We reported last week how Newcastle had now joined the transfer chase, while Real Madrid also hold a heavy interest in signing the teenage sensation.
Los Blancos have been trying to work on a deal for some time with their chief scout Juni Calafat already “taking care of relations” with Bellingham’s father, Mark, who manages his son’s career.
However, The Athletic have stated that with Liverpool and City both “pushing hard”, Real Madrid “are becoming resigned to the fact that the financial muscle of the Premier League is almost unbeatable”.

The LaLiga giants and Champions League holders will still put up a big fight to secure Bellingham.
However, they accept that any financial package they offer will be below those available from England.

Dortmund are also desperate to try and keep hold of the youngster.
The know Premier league clubs are “in pole position” to snap-up their talisman but they still hope to convince him to sign an extension to his current deal which ends in 2025.

Jurgen Klopp speaks out on his Liverpool future amid fears he could go as horror slump hits new low with 3-0 Wolves loss

An own-goal by Joel Matip handed the home side an early lead.
January transfer Craig Dawson then doubled Wolves lead, powering a shot home on his debut.
And Ruben Neves then wrapped the game up in the second half, finishing well past Alisson to help move Wolves a few points away from the relegation zone.
Liverpool are in a rough patch, with Klopp’s men are sat 10th in the Premier League after 20 games played, collecting just 29 points.

The Reds are yet to win a league game in 2023, losing three and drawing one.
The last win came against Leicester on December 28.
But despite Liverpool’s woes, Klopp is confident he can turn the Reds’ fortunes around.
When asked after the defeat if he has confidence in his own ability to improve Liverpool’s situation, Klopp replied: “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Absolutely.”

Asked on HOW he turns Liverpool’s season around, Klopp said: “Not in press conferences. That doesn’t help, obviously.
“You know my job, I know my job, my job is not to explain here how I can build up my team.
“I will be judged by that from you and that’s fine.
“Let me say it like this, for today, it was not good enough, what I did.”
The German has also said that the loss to Wolves was one of the worst performances he has seen “for a while”.
Klopp said: “We had that subject [starting games slowly] through the first part of the season and now not so much anymore, but today it was, if you want, the pinnacle of our problems because in a game like this it is absolutely not allowed.
“You can criticise, you can judge us, you can say whatever want and you are probably right – I have nothing to say against that because these 12 minutes are not allowed.
“Coming here with all the things we did in the last few days – and during the whole season so far – with what we want, then you arrive here and this is the outcome, that’s really hard to take, I have to say.

“We had other games with conceding early goals, we had that since the last season so it was now not that much anymore, but we didn’t win games so then it’s pretty likely when you lose games that you concede the first one.
“Again, these 12 minutes we were the worst for a while.” More

The Kop will not loan him next season — despite a queue already forming — so he may have to be sold.
Liverpool do not want to lose Kelleher as he is a home-grown player and a key part of their squad.
However, they would also be fair to him if he decides it is time to leave.
His contract does not expire on Merseyside until the summer of 2026.

If he departs it could mean the Reds need to find a British keeper, who is willing to be second string, as a replacement.
Kelleher has featured 20 times for the first-team since coming through the youth ranks at the club.
The Irishman is back-up to Alisson having dislodged Adrian as second choice.
He has been part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad that won the FA Cup, Champions League and Premier League.

However, Kelleher’s most memorable moment came in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea last season.

If Bayern Munich come calling for Harry Kane this summer, he should go to win some trophies, says former Liverpool star

FORMER Liverpool and Tottenham star Danny Murphy has called on Harry Kane to quit Spurs this summer for Bayern Munich. The striker has been one of the most prolific in Europe for many years but is yet to win a trophy in his senior career.
Several years of high-level performances has made Harry Kane a man in demandCredit: Reuters
Several reports have linked him with a move to the Allianz Arena but Kane has stayed put – and is now closing in on the all-time outright Spurs scoring record.
But Murphy believes he must jump ship at the end of the season if given the chance.
The pundit told the Mail: “If Bayern Munich come calling for Harry Kane this summer, he should go. It would be hugely sad if a player of his quality finished without winning a trophy. It’s something he himself would regret after retirement.
“When I reflect on my career, the best memories are those at Liverpool winning something; the joy at the final whistle, celebrating with team-mates and supporters, the parties and parades afterwards.
    READ MORE ON FOOTBALL
“That is what you work so hard for and unfortunately Spurs are no nearer giving Kane what he deserves as a world-class striker.
“He turns 30 this summer, it’s getting to that now-or-never stage but it shows how good his form is that one of the biggest clubs in Europe are still interested.”
Kane has been in fantastic form this season and finds himself only behind Erling Haaland in the Premier League scoring charts.
The England international has found the net 16 times compared to Haaland’s 25 goals.

And it is not only Bayern who are believed to want him with reports signalling that Manchester United may also weigh up a summer move.
However Murphy believes Germany is the best option for the Spurs man.
He added: “I’m sure Kane would get other offers. Manchester United have been mentioned but he hasn’t got time to be part of a team that is building.
“If he was going to leave Spurs, it would be primarily to win trophies from the get-go which would make Bayern his best option.”
Kane has regularly hit 20 goals or more since breaking on to the scene in the 2014-15 season.
And with his contract up at the end of next season, chairman Daniel Levy and the Spurs hierarchy will be desperate to not lose him for free.
Kane had previously appeared to be heading towards the exit door in the summer of 2021 as a dispute broke out over a “gentleman’s agreement” he had with the club.
But he stayed put and today could pass Greave’s goal record if he scores against Manchester City. More

The Portuguese midfielder finished off a swift counter-attacking move by firing past Alisson to put his side three goals ahead.
The move was Wolves’ first attack after a long period of pressure from Liverpool as they tried to claw themselves back into the game after Joel Matip’s own-goal and Craig Dawson’s debut effort.
These circumstances of the goal led to Liverpool boss Klopp to dismiss it as counting in his opinion.
He said: “The third goal I don’t count because it was the first time they passed the halfway line in the second half.

“The other two goals, going into a game with all the things we said during the week and before the game, then this is the start, is horrible.”
The comments then inspired Wolves’ social media admins to sarcastically troll the German manager.

The post received a lot of praise from the club’s fans as it was ‘liked’ over 43,000 times.

Arsenal legend Paul Merson gives brutal assessment of Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool after they were thrashed by Wolves

The Midlanders took the lead after just five minutes thanks to an own goal from Joel Matip.
Craig Dawson doubled Wolves’ lead just seven minutes later and Ruben Neves sealed the hosts’ triumph on 71 minutes.
That makes it only one win out of the last seven matches across all competitions for Liverpool, who also count four losses.
Merson insists Klopp’s current squad is “a million miles off” last season’s team that almost won an unprecedented quadruple.

The Arsenal legend also believes the German tactician may have to make an important decision about his future as he is struggling to turn things around.
Merson told Sky Sports: “First time I’ve seen Klopp just sitting there…
“I don’t like the word ‘lost’, he’s not lost but I don’t think he knows what else to do now.
“I think he’s watching this time and it is a million miles off where they were last year, a million miles.

“I think he’ll wait until the Champions League, I think he’ll wait for the Real Madrid game.

“Watching this I don’t see them doing that. Without Van Dijk, [Joel] Matip and [Joe] Gomez don’t look the same players without him.

Wolves 3 Liverpool 0: Reds suffer huge blow to top four hopes as they’re torn apart by rejuvenated Wolves

JURGEN KLOPP must have felt such a fool sporting the armband denoting football’s green weekend as his team was left utterly humiliated. The climate change initiative spread across the English game is all about the sustainability of the planet with every player and boss wearing backing it.

It was another disappointing afternoon for LiverpoolCredit: Alamy
Yet sustainability is exactly what his team can no longer count on.
And Klopp’s world looks lie it is coming the end.
Liverpool are running on empty and delivered the shocking, shambolic performance that confirmed there is more than one club now in crisis on Merseyside.
Joel Matip scored a horror own goal, Craig Dawson slammed in a second for Wolves in a nightmare opening eleven minutes that said everything about how far and how fast Klopp’s men have fallen.
    read more on football
Remember, they were two games away from completing an historic quadruple last season – the team Klopp proudly called his “mentality monsters.”
Now so many of the same players – and especially those supposed to be guarding the back door – are not even going through the motions.
The German declared after last month’s 3 – 0 Prem defeat at Brighton that it was the lowest point of a managerial career that now stretches 1,002 games.
Yet this was worse, so bad that he stood transfixed on the Molineux touchline unable to comprehend the utter inadequacy of his team’s defending.

The displays of Matip, of Joe Gomez, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, as well as those in front of them supposed to be closing down opponents were a betrayal of all that Klopp stands for tactically.
Geggenpressing ? This was simply depressing for the German.
Liverpool have now conceded more Prem goals – 28 in 20 games – than they did throughout the whole of last season.
True enough £75M defensive kingpin Virgil van Dijk is missing with hamstring problems and Ibrahima Konate has joined him having suffered the same injury.
Yet Matip and Gomez have been there all the way through the good times.
Now the going has become tough, but they are not getting going.
The Anfield edifice is crumbling before our very eyes and Klopp’s opposite number Julen Lopetegui will not have believed what he was seeing.
Only five minutes in Robertson slacked up instead of speeding up to close down Nelson Semedo who drilled the ball forward for Hwang Hee-chan.
Matip was slow to react to the mistake able only to find himself in the wrong place at the wrong time as Hee-chan swung from a narrow angle, the ball skidding into the net off the beleaguered defender.
Robertson again didn’t know whether to stick or twist on his left flank as Matheus Da Cunha delivered for Max Kilman to shoot.
Gomez’s header was weak, hitting Stefan Bajcetic on the penalty spot and Dawson, making his debut following a £3.3M entrance from West Ham blasted a right footer high into the net.
To think that Wolves had only scored six Prem goals at home this season.
Suddenly, before the Bovril had gone cold, they had the double that sent Liverpool into an even deeper downward spiral – that’s only one point from their last four games.
Last season’s domestic cup double and that incredible surge towards greatness is only a memory now.
While Klopp’s players have completely forgotten how to play.
Indeed they could easily have been three down by the 26 minute as Matip, who had seemed in a daze from the start, was ambushed 30 yards out by Matheus Nunes, Alisson then doing a brilliant one on one job.
Few of the goalkeeper’s team mates showed such defiance with Cody Gakpo a near by – stander, Darwin Nunez flattering to deceive as he does, Mo Salah all but isolated.
Here seemed a decent shout for a penalty when Naby Keita’s short deflected onto Kilman’s arm but neither referee Paul Tierney nor VAR Lee Mason were interested.
The coup de grace for a Liverpool team that has lost all identity as triple Champions League finalists with one triump, 2020 Prem champs and last year’s trophy double came in the 72nd minute.
Gomez, as Matip had been mid-way through the first half was caught in possession, sub Joao Moutinho robbing him.
The midfielder sent over a cross-field pass to fellow sub Adama Traore, Robertson stranded.
The winger clipped back across to Ruben Neves who had run thirty yards forward to meet the pass.
He sprinted past Thiago like he wasn’t there and the Spanish star certainly didn’t even see him as the Wolves skipper steadied himself to leave poor Alisson for dead.
That goal summed up everything that has gone wrong within Anfield while it was met by the thunderous reception of Old Gold fans who know are beginning to believe they are onto a good thing with new boss Lupetegui.
