He fumed back: “A week after the transfer window, you ask about January? Are you kidding?
“You can’t wait! I’m not worried, we will see what happens.”
Liverpool had a busy summer window as the club replaced the entire midfield.
Stars such as Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner left the club, while Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo joined.

Despite the turnover of players, Klopp has insisted that he is “happy” with his squad.
He added: “I’m happy. I was with the midfield we had over the years.
“They were super characters, grew fantastically into different roles from younger players.
“It was a big task to replace them but I’m happy with what we’ve got.”
Liverpool return to Premier League action with a trip to Wolves as they hope to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
However, Klopp is not expecting an easy match.
He said: “It is a difficult place to go. The Premier League is the Premier League.
“If you ask if there are any grounds where we think we have the points already, there are none.
“Wolves lost a few key players but you look at the line up and think they have quality. A really good football team.” More

Alonso has been making waves at the Bundesliga giants, who are top of the league after winning all three of their opening matches.
Klopp’s Anfield contract does not come to an end until 2026, after nearly a decade in the role.
The former Dortmund boss is rumoured to be looking for new challenges and could exit the club sooner than expected, the Daily Star reports.
Talk of his potential departure has intensified in the wake of Germany’s sacking of Hansi Flick.

Should Klopp leave, Liverpool are free to snatch Alonso according to the German outlet Bild.
The 41-year-old has a “secret agreement” with Leverkusen which gives him permission to quit the club whenever he wants.
The former midfielder joined Leverkusen in October last year following a three-year spell at Sociedad B.
Alonso’s contract runs until 2026 like Klopp’s but the reports claim the club will not stand in his way if a “suitable offer” is made for him.

He spent five seasons at Liverpool as a player, having joined from Real Sociedad in 2004.
There he won the Champions League in his first year at the club, scoring the equaliser against AC Milan in the final.
He left Anfield in 2009 for Real Madrid, where he won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League again, before moving on to Bayern Munich in 2014.

Liverpool ‘failed in club-record £100m transfer offer for Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes in summer’

LIVERPOOL allegedly failed with a £100million club-record swoop for Bruno Guimaraes during the summer transfer window. The Brazilian midfielder, 25, joined Newcastle United from Lyon back in January 2022.

Since then he has become a firm favourite on Tyneside and played a huge role in helping them to finish fourth last term and return to the Champions League.
That led to a host of transfer rumours circulating, with Real Madrid linked with a move for Guimaraes.
Meanwhile, with both Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Fabinho all departing Liverpool over the summer, they were desperate for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
Boss Jurgen Klopp firstly tried and failed to land Moises Caicedo before Chelsea also pipped him to the signing of Romeo Lavia in addition to the Ecuadorian.

He eventually managed to get Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig and Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.
And they ended the window by snapping up Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich to further bolster his ranks.
However, now a fresh report has claimed Liverpool also attempted to sign Guimaraes from Newcastle.
According to AS, Klopp’s side launched a late offer for the South American but it was instantly rejected by the Magpies.

The report, which also states they wanted Brazilian Andre Trindade from Fluminense, adds that the Toon ace’s “name is listed in ‘red’” for Liverpool’s future targets as they believe he could become available as early as January.
Guimaraes caused some alarm bells to ring when he admitted in July there are “doubts” over signing a new deal at St. James’ Park.
Since then he hit the headlines when he blasted moaning Newcastle fans with “short, stupid memories”.
Some Toon supporters were quick to hammer their players on social media following last month’s 1-0 defeat at Manchester City.
NUFC360, a popular fan account with just under 134k followers, tweeted: “Is it too early in the season to start focusing blame onto individual players?
“Was there an overreaction to the loss to Man City?”
But Guimaraes hit back with: “Is this serious? We are in the Champions League, we lost against maybe one of the best teams in the world. We have lost one game!
“Support in the best moment is easy. Short, stupid memories you all have. Look what we have done for the team in this year and a half.” More

Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq failed with a last-gasp loan move for Old Trafford outcast Sancho because they could not reach a deal over a £50million obligation to buy.
It came as the Reds held off Al-Ittihad who were prepared to bid a staggering £215MILLION for Salah.
But the state-backed club remain determined to land the Egyptian, 31, and will try again in January after seeing a £170m offer turned down this week.
SunSport revealed Al-Ittihad were prepared to offer Salah, who has two years left on his £350,000-a-week contract, a staggering £1.8m-a-week offer — equivalent to £95m a year.

Boss Klopp feared Prem clubs could lose their stars at the end of the Saudi window and not be able to replace them, with the English window closed since last Friday.
United were prepared to let Sancho leave following his war of words with boss Erik ten Hag after the 3-1 defeat at Arsenal on Sunday.
Ten Hag said he had not named Sancho in his 20-man squad for the Emirates because of his performances in training.
The winger, 23, hit back by claiming his Dutch manager was using him as a “scapegoat”.

Al-Ettifaq, who are already paying Jordan Henderson £700,000 a week, swooped.
They were unable to get a deal over the line in time for last night’s 10pm deadline but instead landed Everton winger Demarai Gray for £8million on a four-year deal.
Gray, 27, was also involved in a public bust-up with his manager after accusing Sean Dyche of a lack of “respect” towards him.

And that interest is showing no signs of abating with rumours that Al-Ittihad will return with another offer worth £200m.
Jurgen Klopp said after the game that he was confident that Salah will still be at the club come the end of the Saudi window.
Sky Sports asked Szoboszlai, who opened the scoring in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa whether the dressing room had been talking about Salah’s proposed move.

The staggering numbers on offer has led Jurgen Klopp to admit the Premier League is powerless to stop its best players from leaving.
But Liverpool have drawn a line in the sand on Salah, with the club unable to bring in a replacement for him now the British transfer window has slammed shut.
Speaking about the game, Szoboszlai said: “I am really happy to score my first goal and hope there will be even more to come.
“In the first home game [against Bournemouth] we did not start so well and also at Newcastle, we did not start so well. So after a team meeting, we were told to start well and finish with 11 men. So we scored a quick goal and that was good. Hopefully, everyone will stay healthy.
“As a midfielder, we need time. We do not know each other so when the games come we will be even better and better.” More

Liverpool are adamant that forward Salah is not for sale but the Saudi Pro League side are willing to go as high as a world-record £200m ahead of the transfer window in the Middle East closing  on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Egypt chief Rui Vitoria called up Salah for the Africa Cup of Nations dead rubber qualifier at home to Ethiopia on Friday.
The 31-year-old  was due to join his international team-mates on Monday to prepare but Salah has been allowed to stay in the UK and be available for any talks on his future.
SunSport understands the Egyptian Football Association have “decided to give him a break” but Salah is expected to travel for the friendly against Tunisia at home on September 12.

Reports in Salah’s homeland claimed the EFA said in a statement:  “The coach decided not to depend on Salah in the Ethiopia game, especially as the team has already ensured qualification for the African Cup of Nations finals. Salah will play the Tunisia game normally.”
Egypt have already secured their spot at the continental championships in Ivory Coast in January 2024 as Group D winners.
Signing Salah – who has scored 140 goals in 234 Premier League appearances – would be a major coup for a league that has splashed out hundreds of millions of petro-dollars on marquee names this summer.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admits his club are powerless to stop Saudi mega-money transfers.

And his sights are set firmly on the big Anfield reserve, 24.
Republic of Ireland stopper Kelleher hoped to move this summer but missed out on a possible Premier League switch.
However, his exit down the line remains likely.
Celtic checked into Kelleher’s availability and were told he could not go just now, especially with fears of Arab interest in Kop keeper Alisson.

Liverpool would also need to find a homegrown replacement for Kelleher, so that makes it even harder to allow him to leave.
But the chance of being Celtic No 1 for the next few years appeals to the keeper after spending so long in the shadows at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Liverpool will try to land Brazilian midfielder Andre, 22, in the January transfer window.

And with Andre’s side chasing domestic honours in Brazil, they were not willing to trade.
