Wilson, 24, is back from a year at Cardiff and he is wanted by several other Championship outfits, headed by Swansea.
But the chance of top-flight football at the Bees is now on the radar — although it would probably be a fight for survival.
Wilson could wait to find out if foreign interest becomes more positive. He needs the right stage at this time.
Liverpool would let him go as they do their annual review of the squad and the emergence of Harvey Elliott has pushed him further away from the first team.
Brentford were finally promoted to the Premier League at the end of last season through the play-offs.
Thomas Frank’s side beat Swansea City 2-0 at Wembley Stadium in the final to reach the top flight.
It is the first time Brentford will compete in England’s premier division since 1947.
The achievement also put to bed memories of 12 months earlier when the team were beaten by local rivals Fulham in the final.

They will have to beat Burnley for his signature, but are now firmly in the race.

But they will have to fork out a big transfer fee if they are to prize him away from the Serie A side.
According to La Gazetta dello Sport, Sampdoria have set Damsgaard’s price at £34million.
It comes after the Danes reached the semi-finals of Euro 2020 before being eliminated by England.
And Damsgaard was a key figure in helping them make it to the last four.
The youngster netted the opener in his country’s must-win group game against Russia which they went on to win 4-1.
He then also scored a sensational free-kick in their semi-final clash with Gareth Southgate’s men, before eventually being knocked out after extra time.
Damsgaard was given his chance in Denmark’s starting XI in tragic circumstances after Christian Eriksen collapsed in their opening match against Finland.

⚽ ENGLAND vs ITALY EURO 2020 FINAL BETTING SPECIAL ⚽

The Inter Milan midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch in Copenhagen but was stabilised and subsequently released from hospital.
And Damsgaard made Eriksen proud by performing superbly for the Danes, guiding them to their first semi-final in a major tournament since they won the Euros back in 1992.
Spurs are interested in bringing Damsgaard to the club as they look to add to their squad following the arrival of new manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Liverpool are also hoping to add some fresh faces to their side after a disappointing defence of their Premier League title last season.
Meanwhile, European giants Barcelona and Juventus will be wanting to be more competitive in the Champions League in the 2021-22 campaign as neither made it past the last 16 in the previous season.

Liverpool ‘very interested’ in transfer swoop for Portugal’s ex-Swansea flop Renato Sanches with ‘Lille ready to sell’

LIVERPOOL are keeping tabs on Renato Sanches and Lille are open to selling the midfielder, reports suggest.Sanches stood out for the Ligue 1 outfit and played a major role in their shock championship triumph last season.
Lille and Portugal star Renato Sanches has been linked with a move to Liverpool
The 23-year-old also shone bright during Euro 2020 with Portugal and has reintroduced himself to the world stage following a hapless stint at Bayern Munich, which included a disastrous loan spell at Swansea.
However, the midfielder’s recent performances have proven he has put the past behind him and is currently attracting interest from a host of Europe’s top bidders.
According to L’Equipe, Liverpool are among the clubs who are “very interested” in the Portugal international.
The same source suggests that Arsenal have joined the bidding war as manager Mikel Arteta is looking for someone to team up with Thomas Partey in the middle.
This comes after Goal reported that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has drawn a list of potential midfield targets, which includes Sanches as well as Borussia Monchengladbach’s Florian Neuhaus, Aston Villa’s John McGinn, Brighton’s Yves Bissouma and Ajax’s Ryan Gravenberch.
Lille are reportedly ready to sell the Portuguese ace as they are looking to ‘reduce their workforce’.
That is why they sold Boubakary Soumare to Leicester, Mike Maignan to AC Milan, Rominigue Kouame to Troyes and Adama Soumaoro to Bologna, while Jose Fonte was released.
However, the French champions have proven in the past that they know how to get a large sum for their best players.

They saw Victor Osimhen move to Napoli for £69.8million and Nicolas Pepe joining Arsenal on a record £72m in the last two summer windows.
Lille also sold Bissouma and Gunners ace Gabriel Magalhaes for £15.7m and £23.1m respectively.
The same is expected to happen with Sanches, who could get the opportunity to come back to the Premier League and make up for his woeful stint at Swansea where he only managed 15 appearances.

His performances at domestic level saw him included in Portugal’s squad for Euro 2016, starting their historic win against France in the final.
But Sanches struggled after the tournament, making just 17 league appearances at new club Bayern following a high-profile move.

An unsuccessful loan spell at Swansea followed – featuring just 12 times for the relegated Premier League side – before he was allowed to join Lille in August 2019.
Despite making just 42 Ligue 1 appearances in two seasons at the French club due to injury, he has reinvented himself – inspiring them to a shock title triumph last term.
Sanches’ form has seen him linked with a host of top European clubs – including Arsenal, who are said to be keeping tabs on the player.

Former side Bayern and six-time European champions Liverpool are also rumoured to be interested in the youngster.
The Gunners are reportedly monitoring several midfielders as they face losing Switzerland captain Granit Xhaka to Roma.
The Premier League side have also been linked with Brighton star Yves Bissouma and Lyon talent Houssem Aouar.

Mbappe in showdown talks with PSG president over new £430k-a-week contract amid Liverpool and Madrid transfer interest

KYLIAN MBAPPE is in showdown talks with Paris Saint-Germain’s president over a new £430,000-a-week contract, according to reports. The French superstar’s contract expires next summer as transfer interest hots up from Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappe’s future at PSG remains unclear with his contract expiring next summerCredit: EPA
Negotiations between Mbappe’s agents and PSG sporting director Leonardo had failed to result in a new deal getting signed.
Leonardo was apparently more fixated on impressing the striker with finances rather than on-pitch ambitions.
And according to Get French Football News, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has taken over the talks to try and tie Mbappe down.
A source said: “Nasser gets on very well with the family and has done since Kylian’s signing in 2017.
“There is a real respect between them.”
Any new deal is expected to see Mbappe rewarded with a slight pay rise from his current £430k-a-week pre-tax package.
But Mbappe is thought to be more concerned with the Parc des Princes project – and wants to see Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma follow Georginio Wijnaldum into the club.
The report adds there have been further complications with several representatives getting involved wanting a cut.

Mbappe, who signed for PSG permanently for £162million in 2018, is widely considered one of the best footballers on the planet and expected to win several Ballons d’Or.
He scored 42 goals in 47 appearances across all competitions last season but it was a campaign that ended in disappointment for PSG after their Ligue 1 and Champions League failures.
Liverpool and Real Madrid both want to sign Mbappe.
Neither club, however, have made an official approach to do so because they cannot fund a deal this summer due to the effects of the pandemic.
They are therefore hoping Mbappe refuses to put pen to paper and leaves as a free agent next summer.
PSG, of course, are desperate not to allow that to happen – especially with the World Cup being staged in Qatar, where PSG’s owner Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani is the head of state.

Liverpool ‘enquire about Kylian Mbappe’ with Reds prepared to rival Real Madrid for blockbuster transfer from PSG

Real Madrid are believed to be the frontrunners to sign Mbappe, but according to Marca Liverpool are also in the frame.
PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been bold in his prediction that Mbappe, currently with France at the Euros, will be going nowhere.
But there is the very real chance that Mbappe could see out the final year and leave on a free in 2022.
Marca adds that Liverpool’s enquiry is ‘more out of hope than expectation’ that they could manage to bring the 22-year-old to Anfield this summer.
Real Madrid are growing increasingly confident PSG will be forced to sell this summer or risk losing him for nothing.
Los Blancos are struggling financially due to the pandemic but know they can raise cash in player sales in preparation to sign Mbappe.
Luka Jovic, Dani Ceballos and Brahim Diaz are believed to be up for grabs to make way for the rapid forward.
Real Madrid made their interest in Mbappe well known in 2017 when he left Monaco but the club already boasted Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema in attack.

The situation is now different at the Bernabeu with Mbappe told he will become the club’s main man.
The player has made no secret of his desire to play in the famous white colours in the past, calling it a ‘dream.’
So Liverpool might have a hard job persuading Mbappe to spurn Real Madrid for Anfield.

Liverpool star Nat Phillips wanted by Burnley and Brighton in summer transfer after impressive breakout season

BURNLEY are reportedly competing with Brighton in the race to prise centre-back Nathaniel Phillips away from Liverpool. The 24-year-old impressed in his breakthrough season for the Reds after coming into the side following the injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

Phillips, who enjoyed a loan spell with Stuttgart in the second half of the 2019-20 season, finished with 20 appearances during the 2020-21 campaign.
He even scored a vital goal in the 3-0 win away at Turf Moor on May 19 as he proved instrumental in Liverpool securing Champions League football.
Following his dazzling displays at the back, a number of Premier League sides are looking to secure his services.
SunSport have revealed how Steve Bruce is looking to bring him to Newcastle, while Southampton have made enquiries over him.
But Goal have stated that Burnley and Brighton are the two teams that have expressed the strongest interest in the player – valued at over £20million.
The Clarets could press ahead with a move for Phillips should they sell James Tarkowski, while the Seagulls could have to replace Ben White as Arsenal prepare a second offer.
With Liverpool’s defenders set to return from injury as well as the arrival of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, Phillips’ chances in the first-team could be limited.
And it is understood that the player, who still has two years left on his deal at Anfield, would be willing to depart in search of regular football.

Speaking recently, he told Goal: “The plan at the moment is to go back to Liverpool for pre-season and just go from there, really.
“Every player wants to be playing games, and at the stage I’m at, I need to be playing games for my development.
“I think if you look from my first game last season to my last, there was development and I felt a lot more confident and comfortable. I want to keep that progression.
“In terms of Liverpool, they obviously play a huge amount of games every year.
“Game-time is never guaranteed for anyone, but it would depend on whether there’s enough opportunity within those games for me, I guess.”
Another Liverpool academy graduate that could be on his way out of Merseyside is right-back Neco Williams, who is also on Burnley’s radar.
