    FT: Everton 2-0 Chelsea
A hard-fought victory for The Toffees today.
The stats can mislead you into thinking that Chelsea dominated this game today but they created so little.
Chelsea’s fans who made the trip to Goodison Park today to watch this team deserve medals.

    FT: Everton 2-0 Chelsea
The referee brings the game to a close and roof almost comes off Goodison Park.
Goals from Doucoure and Dobbin seal the three points for Sean Dyche’s side.
It is a huge victory in their efforts to steer clear of the bottom three.
    Everton 2-0 Chelsea
90+6. Chelsea desperately try and find a goal.
On this showing, they could play for 180 minutes and not score.

    Everton 2-0 Chelsea
90+4. That is game, set and match in this one.
Dobbin’s strike from the edge of the box flew into the back of the net.
It is nothing more than Sean Dyche’s side deserve, they have been the better team today.
    Goal – Lewis Dobbin (Everton)
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
90+2. The Everton fans groan when they see the fourth officials board.
Everton have a corner to try and put this game to bed.
Garner whips it in and ball is half cleared.
Dobbin drills it into the back of the net from the edge of the box to seal all three points for The Toffees.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea

    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    86. Mudryk plays a reverse pass into the path of Caicedo.
He tries to clip a cross into the box and it loops up in the air for Doucoure to head clear.

Harrison comes off for Dobbin for Dyche’s side.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea

    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    80. Sterling and Gallagher are linking up more down the right.

    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    76. Harrison his an inswinging cross which Beto flicks towards goal.
He got too thick of a contact on it and Sanchez gathers with ease.
As Chelsea have to throw caution to the wind more, they are there to be picked off on the counter-attack.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    74. Everton are coping well with the Chelsea attacks.
They manage to get to the edge of the box but the final ball is dreadful and easily cleared.
Doucoure breaks for the hosts but his attempted shot is blocked.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    72. This would be Chelsea’s seventh defeat of the season.
They are a shadow of the side that won those Premier League titles.
Even at 45-years-old, Drogba would probably get in this team.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    70. This has to be seen as a chance for Sterling to impress in front of the England manager today.
Mudryk is fouled by Patterson out wide.
Time is starting to run out for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    68. Gallagher goes in late on McNeil.

Broja and Fernandez come off for Sterling and Jackson.
    Calvert-Lewin comes off for Beto.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    64. Chelsea are trying to play their way through the Everton press.
They look so devoid of creativity in the final third.
Cole Palmer cannot do it all.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    62. Everton are starting to press Chelsea more now.
Giving the visitors no time on the ball and looking to win the ball back as soon as The Blues have it.
This is much more positive stuff from Sean Dyche’s side.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    60. Branthwaite lunges in on Broja on the edge of the box.
The referee immediately awards a free kick and shows the Everton defender a yellow card.
Big chance for the visitors to work Jordan Pickford.
Palmer drills it under the wall but it is straight at the Everton keeper.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    58. The scoreline just goes to show that possession means nothing without a final product.
Chelsea have bossed the stats but Pickford has had little to do.
Everton’s more direct play is looking far more effective.
    Credit: Getty
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
    56. That is a big goal for Sean Dyche’s side.
Chelsea have rarely looked like threatening the Everton goal and now have it all to do.
Goodison Park is bouncing after resembling a library for most of this game.
    Everton 1-0 Chelsea
54 McNeil breaks from the halfway line and slots it into the path of Calvert-Lewin.
His shot is blocked by Sanchez but the ball breaks to Doucoure on the edge of the box.

    Everton 2 Chelsea 0
Spurs fans will also be able to afford themselves a smile at the Chelsea result.
The Blues, as Newcastle did on Thursday, went down to a convincing defeat at Everton.
Abdoulaye Doucoure put the Toffees in front before academy graduate Lewis Dobbin netted his first goal for the club.

    Fulham 5 West Ham 0
West Ham claimed bragging rights with a 2-1 win here in North London on Thursday night, but Spurs fans will be pleased to know the Hammers team came crashing down to earth at Craven Cottage.
And in a more literal crash, a set of West Ham fans were delayed getting to the ground after their boat across the Thames collided with Hammersmith Bridge.
They’ll be pleased not to have missed too much from David Moyes men though, as Fulham ran out 5-0 winners with five different scorers netting.

    Full time around the grounds
It’s been a fascinating afternoon of 2pm kick-offs and we’re hoping to see something similar here at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
    Results are as follows:
    Everton 2 Chelsea 0
    Fulham 5 West Ham 0
    Luton 1 Man City 2
    The teams are out
Son Heung-min leads Spurs out for the warm-up to applause from the home crowd.
Jamal Lascelles and Newcastle have also taken to the field for what we’re hoping will be a cracker.
    Vicar not blessed
Tottenham were beaten 2-1 by West Ham on Thursday but goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario could have prevented that from happening had he not appeared to have been in two minds about the backpass rule.
In the face of a short backpass from Destiny Udogie, the Italian rushed out of his goal and punched the ball away from Jarrod Bowen, gifting James Ward-Prowse a simple tap-in.
One reason for that may have been a concern about getting sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
However, Fifa rules state that when a goalkeeper picks up a backpass in his penalty box, regardless of the circumstances, the punishment is an indirect free kick and no card.

    Son arrives
Son Heung-min has been deemed fit enough to start this afternoon despite suffering a back problem against West Ham on Thursday night.
Richarlison will be involved in the Spurs forward line after replacing Giovani Lo Celso in the starting line-up.

    Newcastle team
Newcastle: Dubravka, Trippier, Schar, Lascelles, Livramento, Miley, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Almiron, Gordon, Isak
Subs: Karius, Gillespie, Dummett, Wilson, Ritchie, Krafth, Hall, Longstaff, Murphy

    Tottenham team
Tottenham: Vicario, Porro, Romero, Davies, Udogie, Sarr, Bissouma, Johnson, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Son
Subs: Forster, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Gil, Royal, Lo Celso, Veliz, Donley, Dorrington

    More of the same
Eddie Howe has called on Newcastle to deliver a repeat of last year’s display when they won 2-1 if they want to secure a victory at Spurs.
He said: “I think it would need a very similar performance to last year, where we were excellent.
“We were at our best defensively, we were at our best in attack as well.
“That was a memorable day and that gave us a really big lift for what was ahead. It came at a key stage of the season, so we certainly know the importance of this match.”
    ‘Totally different’
Eddie Howe has pointed out the main change that he has noticed in Tottenham’s style of play this season.
The Newcastle boss said: “Tottenham have certainly changed a lot of their build-up patterns.
“Their formation and the way they play is totally different. I’ve enjoyed watching them play. [They were] free-scoring early season, with a lot of interesting movements.
“He [Ange Postecoglou] has done very well in a short period of time to implement his philosophy.”

    Howe about that
Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Eddie Howe is the biggest reason he has ended up as Spurs manager.
That’s because of a fateful day two and a half years ago when Howe decided to turn down the Celtic job.
Howe’s decision led to former Australia manager Postecoglou getting a shot in Glasgow and grasping the opportunity with both hands, as he delivered five trophies in two seasons – a record that led to him getting the job at Spurs.
The Aussie said of Howe’s decision: “Sliding doors moment.
“There’s probably been no bigger decision in me being here today than Eddie knocking back the Celtic job.
    “I haven’t thanked him, I probably should.”
    Credit: getty
    Head-to-head
The recent head-to-head stats between the two sides are very even.
Last season it was Eddie Howe’s Newcastle who triumphed home and away.
The Toon won 2-1 in North London before thumping Spurs 6-1 at St James’ Park – a result which saw Christian Stellini sacked as INTERIM manager.
However, the previous season, Spurs were 5-1 winners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and triumphed 3-2 on Tyneside in the Saudi owners first game at the Newcastle helm.
And the previous year, the teams drew 1-1 in the North East and 2-2 in London.
    London calling
Tottenham are taking on Newcastle in a Super Sunday clash between two teams who will be hoping for a drastic improvement on their midweek results.
Spurs are on a run as bizarre as it has been dismal, having picked up just one point from their past five games – all of which they scored the first goal in.
That run makes Ange Postecoglou’s men the first team in Premier League history to score first and fail to win in five straight matches.
The last of those was a 2-1 loss at home to West Ham on Thursday night, which was particularly disappointing after Spurs picked up an impressive 3-3 draw at champions Man City on Sunday.
However, there remains a lot of belief in Postecoglou’s methods and attacking style of football in this corner of North London with the mood completely different to a year ago under Antonio Conte.
Newcastle, meanwhile, thought they were heading decisively in the right direction with a 1-0 win over Man Utd in which they were far more dominant than the scoreline suggested.
However, Eddie Howe’s injury-hit side were brought back down to earth when they were outbattled at Everton on Thursday night and went down 3-0.
The Toon will also have one eye on Wednesday’s huge Champions League clash at home to AC Milan, where they must win to have any chance of progression to the knockout stages.
Despite turbulent recent runs, both teams will have an eye on a Champions League spot.
Tottenham, in fifth, are currently three points behind fourth placed Man City with Newcastle a further point back in seventh.
And fifth place could even be enough to qualify for the Champions League next season if Premier League teams’ average results in Europe are among the two best. More

Luton 1 Man City 2: Jack Grealish grabs winner as champions fight from behind to win but still sit four points off top

WHEN Pep Guardiola suffers injuries to his star-studded squad, it is a case of getting out the world’s smallest violin.Yet despite the millions City have spent on players, there is not a club in the world who would not miss Erling Haaland, Kevin de Bruyne and in-form Jeremy Doku.
Jack Grealish hails his Man City winnerCredit: Reuters
And so Guardiola’s struggling team, low on confidence and facing a fifth successive Premier League game without a win, avoided being plunged into a fully-blown crisis after being rescued with goals from Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish.
When Elijah Adebayo headed Luton into the lead in first half stoppage time, this goal did not merely give the home team another huge lift.
It set-up the possibility of becoming one of THE greatest Premier League shocks while a home win would also have had a huge impact on the title race.
Yet Silva levelled in the 62nd minute and Grealish grabbed only his second goal of the season three minutes later.
Yet this was still a far from easy win for City. And fair play to Rob Edwards’ Luton who continue to show they do have a chance – however slim – of remaining in the top-flight, purely because they are so bloody difficult to play against at Kenilworth Road.
While City hope to welcome back de Bruyne soon while Doku has been playing well, to be without Haaland for the first time in the League this season was a huge blow.
Equally, the lack of players saw Guardiola name two goalkeepers on the substitutes bench.
City go to Red Star Belgrade for a dead rubber on Wednesday as they have already won Champions League Group D.
PADDY POWER WELCOME OFFER – Get £40 in free bet builder bets
After next Saturday’s home game with Crystal Palace, City will then fly to Saudi Arabia for the FIFA Club World Cup in Jeddah and they will hope to have Haaland back then.
As for Luton, this fixture was the latest proof of how far this completely rejuvenated club has come. On the corresponding weekend a decade ago, Luton won 5-0 away at Alfreton in the National League.
This was City’s first visit to Kenilworth Road since 1998. As ever, Luton’s fans made a right old noise, despite the small capacity of the ground, and they sang to City’s fans: ‘’Conference champions, you’ll never sing that”.
City had plenty of the ball in the first half and while Luton keeper Thomas Kaminski was forced to make saves from Phil Foden and Rodri, the champions were still poor in the final third.
Julian Alvarez filled in for Haaland yet he was not much of a threat. When Grealish opened up the home defence with a clever pass, Alvarez side-footed the ball into the sidenetting.
In first half injury-time, Luton did what they should have been trying earlier – and that was to get some high balls in the box towards Adebayo.
Barkley started the move with some nifty footwork in midfield, Alfie Doughty teed up Andros Townsend whose cross to the far post was perfect for Adebayo to leap above Ruben Dias to score.
City needed to start the second half strongly but they took 15 minutes to really threaten, although Dias should have scored from close-range but he hammered a shot against the bar.
Yet 60 seconds later, Silva equalised with a much more difficult effort, a first time shot into the corner from just inside the area after Rodri’s run had been blocked by Tom Lockyer.
City smelt blood and went for the jugular. Luton appealed for a handball from Alvarez but the ref correctly allowed play to continue as the ball seemed to hit the player’s face.  Alvarez crossed from the right, Teden Mengi got himself in a tangle and failed to clear and Grealish had an easy chance at the far post.
For Grealsh and the rest of his relieved City team, it was all smiles – but it could have been very different.

    Building the Bridges
Ebanie Bridges is FINALLY making her highly-anticipated return after over a year out of competitive action.
The Aussie icon’s last fight was a success as she beat Shannon O’Connell with a round 8 stoppage.
