    ‘He fought today?’
KSI was in no mood to discuss Jake Paul’s knockout win over Andre August last night.
While the Brit was leaving his charity showdown with Speed, KSI was asked if he had seen the Problem Child’s epic first round punch.
KSI replied: “Uh… he fought today?”

The pair looked set to go to the judges scorecards as they entered the final three minutes of their 10-round fight.
But Tellez, 23, then pulled out the perfect left hook as he sent Navarro down onto the canvas.

Fight fans were quick to react to the gesture on social media as they poured in with their responses.

    KSI makes Paul dig
KSI took aim at Jake Paul after his charity fight against influencer IShowSpeed last night.
He also could not resist a little dig at Tommy Fury.
KSI told Fred Talks Fighting: “I think it was definitely the event of the night.
“I think there was a lot of boxing fights happening at around the same time.
“But I’m pretty sure there were more people were watching ours than anyone else’s.
“But yeah man, tough opponent. I think he hit me more than most my opponents, I think he hit me more than Tommy Fury.”
    Knockout blow
Check out SunSport’s full report as Jake Paul knocked out Andre August with his next fight already teased…

    Serrano hails Paul
World champion boxer Amanda Serrano has heaped praise on Jake Paul after his win over Andre August.
The Puerto Rican fighter and current unified featherweight champ has previously trained with the influencer-turned-boxer.
She tweeted after his win: “I told you so! I knew Jake was going to knock him out. His power in the gym was nuts this last camp.”
Serrano previously said: “I came to see him train and damn he’s a beast. I hope he doesn’t hurt Andre badly, Jake’s punching power is scary. No luck needed – you got this.”
    Who next?
Jake Paul revealed in his post-fight press conference that he is open to the idea of fighting Viddal Riley.
Riley is a British born fighter, who used to train KSI before pursuing his own career in boxing.
The 26-year-old was in KSI’s team when he beat Jake’s brother Logan in 2019.
On the possibility of fighting Riley, Jake said: “Yeah for sure that could happen, that would be interesting.
“He has a name, a profile, and that is something that excites me for sure.
“As I go down this path I am going to continue to challenge myself and some of those names start popping into the equation.”
    Logan reacts
Logan Paul was left shocked ringside when Jake landed the brutal first round knockout.
The elder sibling was videoing the start of the bout and quickly switched the camera to himself to show his amazed expression after Andre August hit the canvas.
He then tweeted the clip with the caption: “My God.”

    Fans impressed
Jake Paul’s first round knockout of Andre August left many thinking the Problem Child is the real deal.
One said: “He hit the snooze button.”
Another added: “Can’t say it’s not impressive.”
A third reacted: “Can certainly fight. His power keeps getting better.”
Paul advises next wave of fighters
“We live in a different boxing world now, in a different digital age in general, and it’s the fighters’ responsibility now to promote themselves,” he said.
“And once they realize that, and realize instead of sitting around on the weekend and playing video games in between the training sessions, they gotta be on TikTok and making YouTube videos and getting out there and going on interviews and podcasts and getting any opportunity they can to grow their name.
“That’s why I would just encourage everybody else. The promoter is dying. It’s now the responsibility of the fighter. That’s the new boxing world. Just hustle, man. Just hustle.”

    Christmas party
Paul noticeably came out to an iconic Christmas song during his ring-walk tonight – Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.
“We just always had these vibes going in camp, and sometimes we’re playing different music, and one day we were sitting in the backyard, and this pal’s like, it’s Christmas, oh my God, they’ll start playing the Christmas hits,” he said.
“And that first song came on and I was like, this is what I’m walking up to.”
    Turning haters to believers
“If I was walking on water in front of everybody’s eyes, they would say I couldn’t swim.
“When you take this path, and you’re in the top of a sport, and you got there in three and a half years with the jealousy and hate and insecure people, all the time, of course, they’re gonna critique and find any little thing that they can to try to bring me down.
“But what they don’t know is that it’s just making me bigger, just making me stronger, just making me more motivated to go ahead and become world champion.”
Jake Paul responds to KSI vs IShowSpeed sparring match
The Problem Child’s internet rival KSI organised a free-to-watch sparing match with YouTube superstar IShowSpeed at the same time as Paul’s bout with August.
When asked about the spar, he said: “I don’t know, I don’t care.
“It’s just two different things right, he’s chasing views as a 30-year-old man and I’m chasing legacy and belts.
“All kudos to him, I hope he makes his wildest dreams come true.”

Jake Paul vs Andre August report
Jake Paul brutally knocked out Andre August in the first round with a brutal right uppercut.
The YouTuber-turned prizefighter marked a new step in his career by facing a professional boxer with more experience.
And a perfectly-timed uppercut left August unable to beat the count and Paul handed the most legitimate win of his career.
He said: “I said first round knockout all week, I manifested this, this is the power of manifestation and I said I need to bring back the old Problem Child.
“I’ve been too nice with these people, letting them go into the later rounds. I set up my shot and he went night, night.
“I told him he was going to need a Celcius to wake up.”
From the opening bell, Paul, 26, took the centre of the ring and got behind his jab.
He was doubling up his left hand and looking for the right behind it but August – who had 12 prior bouts – covered up well.
The little-known American, 36, also landed a couple of solid overhand rights himself but Paul took them well.
And then as the round was closing out, Paul set August up with a range-finding jab before firing over the finishing uppercut.

    Punch tally
Jake Paul threw six punches tonight. Not a bad night’s work.
    Any call outs?
Nope. He’s keeping his cards fairly close to his chest tonight.
Asked who he wants to fight in 2024, Paul answered: “No, I’m not going to call out any names.
“I’m not going to give anyone the limelight right now who doesn’t want to fight me. I could call these big names out right now, but I have already done that and they don’t want to fight me.
“We all know who I’m talking about.”
I think he might be talking to you, KSI…
    “What y’all gonna say now?”
Logan Paul enters the ring and takes the mic.
“What y’all gonna say now? A 10-1 boxer that’s been doing it his whole life! This young man is the most impressive person in boxing today. The showmanship, the performance, the hard work, the drive the effort.
“I could not be a prouder brother. I’m happy to share my last name with you.” More

    Jake’s path
So as I’ve mentioned, Jake Paul will test himself against a professional boxer for only the second time in his career tonight.
Things had been going swimmingly for the Problem Child, who previously boasted a 6-0 record with wins over ex-UFC champions Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva among others.
But his perfect record now has a blemish.
Tommy Fury beat Paul by split decision in February, although the former Love Island contestant and brother of Tyson Fury, was knocked down by the YouTuber-turned-boxer in the eighth round that night.
Nonetheless, one judge scored it 75-74 to Paul, with the other two scoring it 76-73 to Fury.
Paul bounced back with another win over an ex-UFC star in Nate Diaz in August, but tonight he returns in the ring with a pro boxer.

    What’s happening?
Nope, no titles or anything like that up for grabs tonight. This is a standard Cruiserweight contest under normal rules.
The main undercard is set to get underway at 12.30am UK time, with the main event ring-walks scheduled for 3.30am.
Obviously those timings could change depending on how quickly the undercard goes.
An early finish would be most welcome for me here blogging by candle light and drinking stale coffee.
    Evening
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
Although in Jake Paul’s case it should perhaps be…
If at first you don’t beat a professional boxer, fight another retired UFC star and then try again.
Yes that’s right, the Problem Child is back in then ring for the third time in 2023, and he’s fighting a pro boxer for only the second time in his career.
He’s up against *checks notes* Andre August…
Ok, he’s not a household name (anywhere in the world) but he does boast a 10-1 record and fancies his chances of doing some damage.

Nottingham Forest 0 Tottenham 2: Ten-man Spurs hold off hosts to move level on points with fourth-placed Man City

THEY are the words Tottenham fans must have thought they would never read – but Richarlison cannot stop scoring. The Brazilian striker had been fast-tracking his way towards the top of the list of Spurs’ worst ever signings.
Richarlison was on target again as Spurs beat Nottingham ForestCredit: Rex
Dejan Kulusevski was also on target in the 2-0 victoryCredit: AFP
But having now scored in back-to-back games for the first time since leaving Everton in a £50million move in 2022 – he has actually got three goals in those two matches – maybe Richarlison is not such a lost cause after all.
He only managed to score three times last season and had scored juit a couple this term before grabbing two in Sunday’s 4-1 demolition of Newcastle.
But he put Spurs ahead with a header in first half injury-time and the player who created the goal with a magnificent cross, Dejan Kulusevski, grabbed the second following some terrible goalkeeping by Matt Turner
Tottenham were forced to play the last 20 minutes with 10 men because Yves Bissouma was handed a red card after raking his studs down the leg of Ryan Yates.

But to the delight of Postecoglou, his team held on to maybe prove they have overcome that blip of five games without a win.
The news is not quite so rosy for Forest boss Steve Cooper. His team are now without a win in six and have managed just one victory in 13 games.
While Cooper still has the firm support of Forest’s fans, you get the feeling that owner Evangelos Marinakis could press the big red panic button at any time.
Spurs certainly made hard work of this win but Richarlison clearly enjoyed his moment celebrating in front of the home fans.

To score in a third game in succession would even be sweeter as he faces former club Everton at home next Saturday.
Even ahead of the trip to the east midlands, Postecoglou spoke about Richarlison saying that for the first time this season, he is injury-free and playing with a clear mind.
Yet if he is to continue his run, he needs a few more stunning passes from Kulusevski.
What a player he is proving to be and it is no surprise he has created more chances than any other player for Postecoglou this term.
While that £50m deal for Richarlison may still not be seen as great business, the £29.2m for Kulusevski was a bargain.
Although it was a hard-fought win, it was a deeply disappointing return for Brennan Johnson, who was back at the City Ground following his £47.5million deadline day move to Spurs.
Richarlison fired Spurs ahead on the stroke of half-timeCredit: Getty
Kulusevski put the game to bed in the 65th minuteCredit: Reuters
He suffered a head injury after just over 30 minutes and as he walked off the pitch holding tissue over a cut head, he received a standing ovation from the home fans along with chants of ‘he’s one of our own’.
Johnson, who scored 29 goals for Forest, came close to grabbing only his second for Tottenham when he prodded the ball towards the corner but Turner got down low to push the ball away.
Son Heung-Min should have put Spurs at the start but fired a surprisingly-tame shot straight at Turner after a terrific pass from yes, you’ve guessed it, Kulusevski.
Yet despite being in control, Spurs started making silly mistakes and giving the ball away with Pape Matar Sarr a key culprit.
Cheikhou Kouyate should have made the most of some chaos in the Tottenham area but somehow, he missed a free header and embarrassingly, he ended up handling the ball instead.
Johnson then suffered a whack to his head in a challenge with Willy Boly and after overcoming the rough patch, Richarlison delivered that glancing header from six yards following the terrific cross from the right by Kulusevski.
Brennan Johnson was forced off with a bloodied headCredit: AFP
Yves Bissouma picked up another red cardCredit: Reuters
Boly, though, could at least have put in a challenge on Richarlison.
The Forest defender could have made amends at the start of the second half when he was somehow left completely unmarked but he blazed the effort into the Trent End. In fact, probably into the actual river itself.
Anthony Elanga thought he had equalised but after a VAR check, was ruled offside
And then home keeper Turner, under pressure from Son, suffered a couple of moments he will want to forget.
He ended up passing the ball straight to Kulusevski who had too much nous for defender Moussa Niakhate although the shot went through Turner’s arms.
Spurs were then down to 10 men after the sending off of Bissouma who was initially given a yellow card before ref Jarred Gillett was called over to a monitor following a VAR check.

But for Postecoglou and Richarlison, in particular, the last few days have been a lot better than the previous couple of weeks.
