    That’s all from Stadion Galgenwaard
The Lionesses suffered their third defeat under Sarina Wiegman at the hands of her former team, Netherlands.
However, there is still a long way to go in the Nations League, with four group fixtures still remaining.
England are back in action next month when they face Belgium twice.
But before then, players return to league action to kick off the 2022-23 season.
Thank you for reading, and goodnight!
    ‘It was offside’
When they scored their first goal, we didn’t do well, we didn’t play well, but it was so obviously offside.
I never say anything about this, but this was so obvious and it needs to be seen.
The standards of the game are getting higher and higher so (VAR) will absolutely help.”Sarina Wiegmanspeaking to ITV Sport
    Elsewhere in the Nations League

    Italy 0-1 Sweden
    Germany 4-0 Iceland
    Austria 0-1 France
    Portugal 3-2 Norway
    Wales 1-5 Denmark
    Scotland 1-1 Belgium
    Spain 5-0 Switzerland

‘You want to see new players’
England legend Ian Wright believes Sarina Wiegman should give other players a chance in the upcoming Nations League games.
Speaking on ITV4, he said: “Yes it is a scenario where England are trying to qualify Team GB for the Olympics, but these are the situations you want to see new players be given their chance.
“The likes of Esme Morgan at centre half, Maya le Tissier, or perhaps Jess Park. Even Ebony Salmon, can some of these players come on and give the side something else?
“You want players to be able to come into the squad and experience situations like the first half, where it wasn’t going so well, to see if they have it in them to also work out how to solve issues.”
    Group A1
As things stand, England have slipped to third in Group A1.
A disappointing night for the Lionesses.

    Millie Bright reacts
Speaking to ITV4, the England defender said: “It’s hard because there were some really good parts of the game where we really dominated. I thought they were ruthless when they had their opportunities and to be honest we gifted them two goals.
“When you concede in that manner, that’s the most disappointing thing especially when games like this really matter.
“There is still a lot to play for. We have to rest, recover, go again and reflect because the games get harder and harder. We have to get better as a team, evolve and develop.
“Second-half we came out as a different team and put the passes together better. There were really good parts.
“But as I said, if you give away two goals like that, it makes it really hard. They had less chances but were really, really clinical. We were not ruthless enough in that area.”

Another uninspiring performance from the Lionesses.
Sarina Wiegman’s side stepped up in the second half following a formation change, but two defensive mistakes ultimately cost them.
It could be put down to injuries, absences or even fatigue with the World Cup final just one month ago, but Wiegman will be hoping for an improved display when England return to action next month.

    Hot Spurs show fighting spirit
Tottenham fought back twice to earn a point at Emirates, a resilient characteristic that is becoming the norm under Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs have now earned eight points from losing positions in the Premier League this season, the second-most of any side afrer Liverpool (9).
The Londoners have come back from behind in their last three matches as well as on the opening weekend at Brentford.

    D2-2 v Brentford (from 2-1 down)
    W5-2 v Burnley (from 1-0 down)

    Arteta issues Rice update
Speaking to the press after this afternoon’s North London derby, Mikel Arteta has explained his reasoning for making a double change at half-time that saw Declan Rice and Fabio Vieira replaced by Jorginho and Kai Havertz.
[Declan] Rice was substituted due to a back injury, but [Fabio] Vieira was a tactical switch. We hope that Rice’s injury is not a long-term issue. It’s strange that a player like him has to come off so we’ll see.Mikel Arteta
    More Rom Com from Cristian
Undoubtedly a brilliant player for the most part, Cristian Romero remains prone to slapstick.
During the frenzy of the North London derby, the Argentine became the 11th player in Premier League history to score an own goal and give away a penalty in the same game.
Romero is the first Spurs player to hit those infamous heights, but can at least be grateful that he didn’t add a red card to the record, just his customary yellow.
    James still Madd for it
With two assists in this North London derby, James Maddison leads the Premier League rankings with four for the season.
The playmaker has now been directly involved in 21 goals in his last 22 away games in the Premier League, returning 10 goals and 11 assists.
His six goal involvements on the road this season (two goals and four assists) is also the most of any player in the division.

    Match stats from the Emirates
Arsenal and Tottenham both remain unbeaten at least six games into a top-flight campaign for only the second time in the Premier League era. The last time came in 2004-05.

Full time – Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
A pulsating contest comes to a close.
Arsenal twice had their noses in front in the North London derby, but Cristiano Romero’s own-goal and Bukayo Saka’s penalty were cancelled out by equalisers from Tottenham captain Son Heung-min; the second strike from the South Korean came just 98 seconds after the spotkick.

    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
90+10. As the clock strikes 100 minutes, Richarlison’s snapshot is deflected wide for a corner.
    The Emirates holds its breath.
The set-piece is swung out from the right and met by the head of…
…Gabriel, who powers it to safety.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
90+8. Romero bodychecks Nketiah, and Arsenal have a late free-kick midway inside the Tottenham half.
They play it short because of course they do, and the momentum quickly evaporates.
Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham – Arsenal substitution
90+6. Emile Smith Rowe is going to get a run out, on for Bukayo Saka.
Can the young midfielder make a heroic contribution at the death?
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
90+4. Despite the game being deep into injury time, Alan Smith is using this time to bemoan Arsenal’s lack of a goalscorer.
That should tell you all you need to know about their attacking endeavours.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
90+2. Gabriel is denied a clear header from the corner by the presence of Udogie and Bissouma.
However, replays show that the ball brushed off the outstretched arm of the Italian defender.
There are no appeals from the Arsenal players, but Gary Neville is bemused: “For me, that’s more of a penalty than the Romero one.”
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
90+1. A Saka shot from outside the box whistles past Vicario’s right-hand post.
The goalkeeper, in fact, got a touch to the ball so it will be another corner to the Gunners.

    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    90. The board goes up and there will be TEN minutes of stoppage time to be played.
It’s news that brings roars from both sets of fans. Both still believe they can win this.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    89. Udogie pulls down Saka, landing on his opponent in the process.
Saka is moving gingerly as a result, and the Tottenham defender breathes a sigh of relief after remembering that he is already on a booking.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    87. It’s Arsenal finishing the stronger now, forcing a barrage of corners.
The latest from the left prompts Romero in to miscuing a header backwards, but the defender is helped out by a brilliant recovery by Bissouma.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    85. Saka curls it wickedly towards the near post from where it is flicked on and races across goal.
Begging to be converted at the far post, Nketiah doesn’t gamble on the ball dropping and misses out on an opportunity to make himself a hero.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    84. Reiss Nelson, on as a sub for Gabriel Jesus a few minutes ago, comes in from the left side and unleashes a rocket.
It loops up off a defender and goes behind for a corner.
Now the Arsenal fans are interested.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    82. Arsenal have just had two attempts on goal in this second half, the last of which was the penalty converted by Bukayo Saka in the 54th minute.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    80. Ten minutes to go!
One goal will win it now, surely.
Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham – Tottenham double substitution
    78. It’s two changes for Spurs, and it’s the end of the road for their two main men.
Son Heung-min and James Maddison depart with Richarlison and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on in their place.
The captain’s armband is handed to Cristian Romero.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    76. Now it’s Arsenal’s turn to pour forward.
White busts a gut to overlap Saka on the right, but his energy is not matched by the delivery into a packed penalty area.
Instead, his cross is deflected casually into the arms of Vicario.
Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham – Romero yellow card
    74. Who had 74 minutes in the when will Cristian Romero be booked bingo?
The defender is carded for grappling with Gabriel Jesus before the corner can even be taken. I suppose it is Argentina versus Brazil.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    73. Tottenham look the more assured side as the game enters its final stages.
Another crisp break from the visitors sees Kulusevski win a corner on the right.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    71. Remarkably, after receiving lengthy treatment, Maddison is going to play in.
Hopefully, the England star is fit to continue, and it’s not a similar situation to when Arsenal continued to play Jurrien Timber against Nottingham Forest when he had injured his ACL.
    Arsenal 2-2 Tottenham
    69. This does not look good for James Maddison.
In his attempts to wrestle away from Jorginho, the midfielder jolts his knee and goes down in considerable pain.
Meanwhile, Spurs break away thanks to Maddison’s efforts, and almost grab the lead when Son steers into the side-netting.

Chelsea went down to ten men on 58 minutes as Gusto had a yellow card upgraded to a red after a VAR check for a poor challenge on Lucas Digne.
Boss Mauricio Pochettino had appealed for patience after Chelsea fans lambasted their struggling squad in the 0-0 draw with Bournemouth last time out.
He blamed his 12-man injury list, and a lack of experience among his new recruits, for his side’s struggles – now he can add Gillett’s name to the list.
After the sending off Villa smelt blood and Watkins pounced with an ice-cool finish on 73 minutes.
Poch was serenaded to chants from the away end of “you’re getting sacked in the morning”.
Maybe the powers that be will finally realise that the ex-Tottenham boss’ rescue operation may not be able to continue without the help of a recognised goalscorer.
All that transfer cash only to get cooked by Watkins with his first goal of the season.
Someone really needs to let them in on a little secret that strikers do win games as nearly every player had a go at blazing over yesterday.

Chelsea have scored just seven goals in seven games in all competitions – and without one in their last three outings.
Villa, on the other hand, have scored 22 goals in nine games in all competitions.
£115m British record signing Moises Caicedo returned from a minor knee knock to replace Lesley Ugochukwu in Chelsea’s one change from the Blues’ goalless draw at Bournemouth.
He fired a low drive straight at Emiliano Martinez early on.
Mykhailo Mudryk and Levi Colwell whipped inch-perfect crosses into the box time and time again but no one was there to make the crucial touch.
And the visitors hit back with a Lucas Digne rocket up the other end which Robert Sanchez tipped over the bar.
There was another superb ball from Mudryk as he spotted Nicolas Jackson’s run into the box and made the killer pass.
Jackson had just Martinez to beat but the Argentina international made a superb stop to deny the Blues forward.
Gusto was sent off for this tackle

Malo Gusto burst down the right flank and cut the ball back to Enzo Fernandez who was the culprit of a shocking miss well wide.
Finally centre-back Axel Disasi looked as though he had broken the deadlock as he had the ball in the net – but it was ruled offside.
A cacophony of boos rang out at the break but they were for Gillett who blew up for half-time with more than a minute of stoppage time still to play.
Pochettino was left raging and was seen giving the officials a tongue-lashing down the tunnel.
Chelsea went down to ten men in the second-half and Villa pounced.
From a Blues attack, Aston Villa broke as Watkins burst into the area.
Colwill did well to block the first shot but the ex-Bees striker reacted quickly to squeeze in at the second attempt.
Chelsea hit back and Ben Chilwell lashed an effort that stung the hands of Martinez before another string of misses from the hosts.
Armando Broja summed up the host’s frustrations as he wrapped up the nightmare afternoon with a header well wide.

    Arnold under fire
Manchester United chief executive officer Richard Arnold was grilled by staff over the club’s controversial handling of Mason Greenwood and Antony.
According to The Telegraph, Arnold faced anonymous questions from staff over Zoom on Tuesday afternoon.
The 52-year-old was grilled about United’s handling of Greenwood who was loaned out to Getafe after a six-month internal investigation over charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.
The charges against the striker were dropped.
Another item of the crisis talks was Antony, who is embroiled in a police investigation over allegations by three women of domestic abuse.
The winger has denied the claims made against him.

    Mason Greenwood controversy
Mason Greenwood joined Getafe on loan in the summer after Manchester United decided against having him in the squad this season.
This came after a six-month internal investigation over charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.
The charges against Greenwood were ultimately dropped following the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light.
The 21-year-old was first arrested at his home in January of last year and was due to stand trial in November.
Reports suggested United considered bringing the striker back to the squad but a heated backlash from fans led to the changing their mind.
    Using your head
Prior to Latasa scoring Getafe’s eighth goal of the season, the club had scored four of their seven goals thanks to headers.
This put second behind only Union Berlin in terms of proportion of goals scored this way.
And this figure is even higher after Latasa’s goal due to that goal also being a header.
The figure now stands at 62.5 per cent.

    Mason misery
It was a far from ideal away day for Mason Greenwood.
Despite a bright start with an early dribble half the length of the pitch, that would prove to be his only meaningful contribution.

Red Bull boss Horner on Verstappen’s performance in qualifying
Max Verstappen was back to his best after blitzing pole in Suzuka.
The Dutchman was over half a second clear of McLaren duo Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris in what was one of the stand-out laps all time.
Red Bull boss Christian Horner said: “What we have witnessed is something very special.
“That last lap, the first sector was absolutely mighty. Gianpiero Lambiase [Verstappen’s race engineer] started winding him up before his last run ‘let’s see a 28 [a lap of 1m.28s.] in there’ and I said to GP ‘I would like to see four wheels on the car at the end of it’.
“That first run looked good enough to get the job done but then he went quicker again.
“All his laps have been stunning today. An absolutely mind-blowing performance.”

Joe Joyce vs Zhilei Zhang 2 LIVE RESULTS: Joyce given oxygen after brutal knock out defeat by Zhang

JOE JOYCE has been devastatingly knocked out by Zhilei Zhang in the third round at Wembley Arena.Zhang won in quicker fashion than he did in their first clash back in April.
After a barrage of blows a stunning right dropped Joyce for the first time in his career and the fight was waved off.
Follow ALL of the latest updates below…
    Report
Joe Joyce’s top-level career was ended by a sensational right hook from 21st Chinese monster Zhilei Zhang.
The Juggernaut celebrated his 38th birthday on Tuesday and only wanted rematch revenge over the man who battered his eye shut in April for a gift.
But it was an even more brutal end to the bout – and Joyce’s dreams of ever fulfilling his early potential to be a heavyweight world champion – when gun-loving Zhang destroyed his chin with a surprise right hook.
The opener was a stinker with only one real punch thrown, a left from southpaw Zhang that Joyce caught and parried away.
It was a massive relief to the packed Wembley arena supporting the Putney man as every dig Zhang threw five months earlier landed and damaged our man’s eye.
The second round livened up as soon as Zhang landed a crisp one-two and his few Chinese fans started drowning out the Brits.

    Joyce vs Zhang
Zhang has called on the fans to goad Tyson Fury into a fight.
He said: “I want to ask the audience, do you want to see me shut Tyson Fury up?”

    Joyce vs Zhang
Zhang says: “I’m happy, I’m happy.
“I feel very happy, like I said before the fight it was going to end sooner than the first fight.”
Zhang adds that he “respects” Joyce following their two shared fights.

JOE JOYCE HAS BEEN KNOCKED OUT!
A counter lead right hook landed by Zhang right at the end of round three and left Joyce knocked out.
Joyce tried his best to get up but the fight was already over. Zhang wins by brutal KO.

    Joyce vs Zhang
Round 3 – Joyce is really struggling to evade these shots and Zhang is unloading.
Another big left hand sends Joyce tottering to the ropes, the Brit can’t seem to get going here.
    IT’S OVER!
    Joyce vs Zhang
Round 2 – JOYCE IS WOBBLED!
Big left hand from Zhang had Joyce shaken but the Londoner did fire back in response.
Zhang ends the round with a flurry of combinations that had Joyce again looking rocked. Big start from the Chinese star.
    Joyce vs Zhang
Round 1 – Very tentative first round.
Almost nothing to split the pair, both circling each other and refusing to commit.
Couple body shots went in either way but nothing damaging.
    Joyce vs Zhang
    Here we go!
Joyce comes out pawing out the jab, Zhang looks patient.
Already Joyce is circling to his left, away from the left hand.
    Zhang-tastic entrance
And now here comes Zhilei Zhang!
Can he do the double on Joyce and potentially end the Brit into retirement?
Similarly, at 40 a loss for Zhang could leave his career in tatters.

Joe Joyce has taken an unusual measure to ensure a victory, resorting to the use of an electric skateboard.
He lost to Zhang back in April in what was the 38-year-old’s first professional loss, but he has found a new way to clear his head after the heartbreak of losing his unbeaten record.
Instead of going for a stroll or zoning out to some music, he has instead been heading out on his one-wheel skateboard.
Speaking to the Daily Star about what’s helped him move past the defeat, he said: “I got out in nature on my one wheel skateboard thing, that helped me.
“Going to see family and friends. Reviewing the footage as well and seeing where I went wrong. It wasn’t that I was thinking, it was a distraction and something to feel good about and enjoy.
“I have hobbies away from boxing, I swim, dive, cycle and the one wheel is my new thing. It helps me take my mind off it and enjoy life. It means it’s not boxing, boxing, boxing.”

    London calling
Yarde has called out Joshua Buatsi!
Buatsi first faces Dan Azeez on October 21 but Yarde says if he wants that is the fight he wants next.
He even went as far to say a verbal agreement has been struck between the pair to box in 2024.

    Yarde wins KO R2
Silva gets slashed about the stomach and bounced off the ropes but he is brave.
Yarde plays with his food and lets the underdog recover.
Then he piles and batters Silva into submission in his own corner.
    Yarde vs Silva R1
Yarde’s heavy hands fly back into action and Silva feels the wrath of his golden gloves.
The Portuguese is hurt a couple of times, to skull and torso, but doesn’t drop.
Yarde is coasting and will win the second he steps on the gas.
    Yarde vs Silva
Eight months ago Yarde suffered a punishing loss to light-heavyweight monster Artur Beterbiev.
This is his comeback and it is a gimme against Jorge Silva, he will win in style and probably early.
But he earned an easy one after giving his all against the terrifying hairy Russian and going out on his shield.
    Itauma wins TKO R1
An uppecut drops the poor Belgian, he beats the count and winks at his corner!
    Bad move.
Itauma ups the ante and batters him until the towel flies in to save him.
    Itauma vs Boucetta R1
Eighteen-year-old southpaw heavyweight sensation Moses Itauma has gone the distance in his last two bouts.
The 4-0 powerhouse has suffered hand injuries and needed time to heal.
So he could be especially harsh on Belgian Amine Boucetta right now.
    O’Leary wins decision
The three ringside judges call the engaging 140lbs clash 100-90, 99-92 and 99-92.
A fair call but probably a closer fight.
Gardner is a problem who can come again.
    O’Leary vs Gardner R10
The classy super-lights touch gloves before battering each other for one more session.
Blood is smeared across Gardner’s face and O’Leary has bruises all over his chiselled good looks.
Gardner lands his best shot of the fight but O’Leary shrugs it off.
The bell ends a cracker fight that was slipping under the radar after three rounds but then exploded into a thriller.
    O’Leary vs Gardner R9
Gardner is now bleeding from his nose following lefts and rights.
But he is going out on his shield, as we edge toward an O’Leary decision.
The bell ends another slugfest with Gardner left with three minutes to pull off a stoppage comeback upset.
    O’Leary vs Gardner R8
Kane Gardner has a head of steel and a heart full of pride, he’s taken a bit of a pasting but refused to buckle.
O’Leary’s biggest fear is breaking his hands on Gardner who started slowly but grew into the battle.
A right hand on Gardner’s head ends the round.
    O’Leary vs Gardner R7
Gardner looks vulnerable now, O’Leary’s blows are not landing flush but he is barrelling into the ropes.
O’Leary’s head movement is mustard, he slips shots at the last second with ease.
Another round in the O’Leary vault.
    O’Leary vs Gardner R6
O’Leary’s team wipe away the blood and stem the flow, for now.
Gardner is now on the front foot after a timid start.
Gardner is suddenly hurt, a twister leg or stunning shot have robbed him of his balance.
