      Ryan Giggs trial LIVE – Ex girlfriend Kate Greville accuses former Man Utd star of physical and psychological abuse

      EX-FOOTBALLER Ryan Giggs was an idol on the pitch but an abusive “gaslighter” of his ex-girlfriend in his private life, a court heard.Behind Giggs public persona the former Manchester United and Wales international footballer, accused of headbutting his ex-girlfriend, had a “much uglier and more sinister side to his character”, Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester heard.
      Jurors were told the 48-year-old’s private life involved a “litany of abuse, both physical and psychological, of a woman he professed to love”.
      Giggs denies using controlling and coercive behaviour against ex-girlfriend, PR executive, Kate Greville between August 2017 and November 2020.
      He has also pleaded not guilty to assaulting the 36-year-old, causing her actual bodily harm, and of the common assault of her younger sister, Emma Greville, at his home in Worsley, Greater Manchester, on November 1 2020.

      Kate told police Ryan ‘gaslighted her’
      Kate Greville says she realised she no longer wanted to be with Ryan Giggs as he had “cheated on me so many times”.
      She says Giggs would “play the victim”, saying he was “heartbroken” and “I can’t live without you”.
      Ms Greville says she told Giggs “I don’t want anything to do with you, please leave me alone”. 
      “It was absolutely draining,” she tells police.

      Kate Greville says she “felt used” by Ryan Giggs during their on-off relationship.
      “It felt like he was using me for sex,” she tells the officer.
      She says she discovered Giggs was in a “full relationship” with a new girlfriend and she decided she was “done”.
      She says Giggs would “scream” at her on the phone and email her saying: “Don’t you dare speak about me”.
      Kate claims Giggs used intimate video to blackmail her

      She told court: “He sent me a nasty email once with blackmail and it was a video that we’d done. 
      “He’d say ‘I’m going to send these messages to people if you don’t reply’.
      “I don’t know what the video was. It could have been sexual. I didn’t want to look. He’d want to have sex all the time. He didn’t force himself on me but he’d use sex to get to me.
      “He’d send me really sexual messages. When we werent speaking he’d send sexual messages or pictures. 
      “He got the wrong end of the stick and thought I was seeing some guy. 
      “I got bombarded with messages.”
      Kate felt ‘so alone and so isolated’
      Kate decided to stay in Dubai for another week after staying at her friends.
      She said: “I sent him a message on Whatsapp saying I’m going to get the flight. It was quite a nice message because I didn’t want any more abuse. 
      “I said ‘I’m really sad how this has ended, I’m not getting the flight with you in the morning’.
      “We agreed to block each other and we didn’t have any more contact for a few days and then he started messaging my friend saying he missed me. 
      “I left it a few days and then he kept messaging Katie.”
      Breaking down into tears, she said: “I didn’t message him straight away.
      Kate said she ended up messaging him because he would not stop contacting her friend. 
      The relationship resumed in February 2020 on her return to the UK.
      She added: “He made me feel so alone and so isolated.”

      Kate told to leave by Ryan Giggs
      Kate has told the court of how Ryan Giggs told her to leave Dubai and fly back to Manchester.
      She started packing her things together at around 10pm.
      Kate told the jury: “He stood in my way and tried to stop me leaving. 
      “I was pushing him and telling him to move. 
      “He was trying to stop me and grabbed my bag that was on my arm.
      “I fell forward on my knee with my bag.
      “He then let me go. 
      “I went to my friend’s house who lives in Dubai.”
      Kate recalls ‘ultimate insult’
      Kate Greville is now in the witness box recalling an incident with Ryan Giggs in a hotel room in Dubai.
      She said they’d been out for some drinks when he turned on her and told her he didn’t like her when she’d consumed alcohol.
      Kate fought back tears as she said: “I constantly felt attacked by him. He’s having a go at me again.
      “I tend to not react to anything and not say anything. 
      “Then he said that I was just like his ex-wife and so he called me her name.
      “He knew that would really upset me so he would say it quite a lot. 
      “He used to say that she used to make his life hell and that she had a problem with alcohol and that I was just like her.”
      Kate tells court she’d been ‘naive to it all’
      Kate told police how she began to realise Ryan could be having an alleged affair during a Christmas break in Dubai.
      In a video of her statement to officers, Ms Greville continued: “Then we went to Dubai for Christmas and now I know he was in a relationship with two other girls. 
      “This Zara started messaging me and asked to follow me on Instagram. 
      “I knew he’d been seeing her so I split up with him. This is when it started to ramp up. 
      “Even though I had no proof and he hadn’t admitted it, I just knew. At the time, I’d just been naive to it all. 
      ‘All the time he was still living with Stacey’, Kate Greville tells court
      Kate claims Giggs told her he’d split with Stacey: “He’d tell me one thing and then I’d hear something else.
      In a police interview played in court today, Ms Greville said: “It all came out in May 2016. It was horrendous. I got hounded by the paps, emails from the media.
      “His ex-wife and daughter were sending me nasty messages.
      “I wanted to protect him so said nothing had gone on. 
      “Then I found out he’d lived with Stacey the whole time.” 
      ‘I was madly in love with Ryan’ says Kate Greville
      Ryan Giggs’ ex-girlfriend told police how she was “madly in love” with the former Man U star.
      She said: “He would say I was his soul mate. We would talk for hours.
      “He helped me get out of that situation.”
      There were “red flags” when she ignored Giggs and he would claim “she was “f****** someone else”.
      “I was madly in love with him basically,” she added.
      Kate recalls discovering Ryan had texted naked pics to other women
      During another alleged incident, she recalled the moment she discovered he’d sent a naked picture to another woman. 
      Kate claims Giggs had walked out on her in a Dubai restaurant after she told him to come off his phone.
      She told cops: “I was really upset, I don’t understand what happened.  I went to my friend’s house crying my eyes out, I didn’t want to go back to the hotel room.”
      The next day she said she received an email from an anonymous man who sent her the X-rated snap of Giggs which he’d found on his wife’s phone.
      Kate said: “He said ‘is it him’. I knew it was him. I said ‘yes who is it’ but he didn’t tell me. He said he had kids and didn’t want it to blow up. It’s not nice when you see that and your whole body goes into shock. 
      “That was the first time I realised maybe he’s not what I think he is. I confronted him and he tried to make up some story. He eventually told me who it was and she is married and said it was from ages ago and must have found it on her phone.
      “But I did a bit of detective work and I realised he’d sent it to me and it was only two weeks before. 
      Kate claims Giggs once threw her out of hotel suite naked
      On one occasion Kate recalled how he even threw her out of a hotel suite, leaving her naked in the hallway with her belongings strewn on the floor. 
      It was sparked after she accused him of texting another woman while they were in a club. 
      During the police interview, she said: “I could see on his phone he was messaging someone.
      “I asked him and he flipped. We were in a club but he flipped. 
      “He went up to my face and was screaming. He said ‘it’s my daughter I’m messaging’. He got up to leave and I ran after him. 
      “We got back to the hotel and got into bed. He flipped and grabbed me by my arm. 
      “He pushed me onto the floor. He took all my belongings and threw it all into the corridor and then shut the door and wouldn’t let me in.
      “I was naked, all my stuff was in the middle of the corridor. I got back into bed and he wouldn’t speak to me and I ended up apologising to him. 
      “He said ‘I don’t want to be with you anymore’. He put it on me that it was my fault for accusing him. I started begging him to take me back.”

      The court has heard how Kate claimed she would “constantly get abusive messages” in a “cycle of abuse and then silence”.
      In a video of her police interview, which was played in court, she told the officer: “I’d get more abuse or sexual messages over this period of four months. 
      “He would make me feel like he was threatening my job. I was so worried he was going to ruin my career.
      “Then I’d found out he’d been in a relationship the whole time. He came over and had sex. I felt used the whole time. 
      “He’d want sex every other day. He was having sex with a totally different girl.”

      Ms Greville told police how she found it impossible to break the cycle of abuse aimed at her.
      Watching her interview, the court heard: “When I was in it I still felt like he was my world, I desperately wanted to have a family, to move in with him. I still thought he was my best friend. 
      “The whole time, before I came up to Manchester, when I realised that it was like the rug had been pulled from underneath me. 
      “This one person was telling me one thing but the actual reality was very different. 
      “Obviously I worked with him at the time. He was my soul mate – but the realisation that he wasn’t, I really struggled. It was really hard.”

      “I was trying to talk about it but he would shut me down. He would scream at me and leave my apartment, storm out.
      “If we were in the car he’d leave me in the road. Maybe I didn’t say it in a great way but he would just flip so it got to the point where I just kept everything inside. There was no point.
      “That was two days before Christmas.
      “Now I know he was having an affair. He was in another relationship with someone, with two other girls at that time.
      Kate claims she couldn’t go on night out ‘without being blocked’
      Ryan Giggs’ ex Kate Greville says the footballer eventually forced her to stop socalising and going out.
      She said: “If I went out on a night out with my friends, if I didn’t reply to him I’d either get ‘rude’ or he would block me.
      “The amount of times he would block me, it was regular, like every time I went out. 
      “He would accuse me saying you’re obviously with someone, you’re with another guy tonight. 
      “It got to the point where I wouldn’t go out. All I would do is get anxious.
      “If I messaged him he’d say ‘why are you messaging me, I’m out with my friends’.
      “When I asked him when we going to start a family he said he never said that. 
      “I started thinking ‘have I made that up’. The reason I came back was because you said that. 
      “I came back to work for him. He set it up and said ‘why don’t you work for me, work for Gary, for the company’.”
      ‘Ryan’s ex-wife hated me’, Kate tells court
      Kate Greville told police during her interview that she felt Giggs’ ex wife “hated her”.
      In footage of the interview played in court, she said: “There was a massive problem with his ex-wife, she hated me.
      “He kept the kids very separate and would often lie to them about where he was and if he was with me.
      “It didn’t feel right why he wasn’t introducing me. I felt like he was making excuses. 
      “He was still saying he wanted a family because he got me to come back by saying he wanted us to have kids. 
      “Stuff didn’t add up, he would tell me he was somewhere and it didn’t add up.”

      Alex Albon goes P7 in a Williams!
      Williams are running two different cars this weekend as they only had enough time to upgrade one.
      With Albon leading teammate Nicholas Latifi in the championship standings, the British-born driver is the one running the new spec.
      His is car sticks out like a sore-thumb as the team have plastered florescent pink paint as they are running an aerodynamic test.
      But whatever they have done to the car seems to be working as he has clocked in a lap of 1:30:973 to put him seventh fastest.

      Drivers are getting joy in the dry
      And just like that the drivers are back to flying around Silverstone.
      As it stands Charles Leclerc is top of the time sheets with a 1:29:962 which is almost 13 seconds faster than the time Bottas clocked in fastest with in FP1.
      Defending champion Max Verstappen is 0.849 seconds behind the Ferrari driver.
      FP2 STARTS!
      FP2 is officially underway and there is a long line of cars waiting in the pit lane to get out.
      It’s no surprise after nearly after the grid were unable to clock in a time following the rain earlier.
      Can Hamilton build on his promising start earlier this afternoon?

      The rain has stopped. The track is dry. The drivers are suiting up.
      This is your five minute warning for second practice which should be more interesting than the one earlier which saw Alfa Romeo driver Valtteri Bottas top the time sheets.
      FP1 is done – Bottas leads Hamilton
      It is almost like old times, Bottas nowadays drives for Alfa Romeo, has gone quickest in FP1 ahead of Hamilton in encouraging signs for the Brit.
      Sainz is third and Leclerc fourth on a drying track, the session has been cut short due to Stroll’s accident.
      The Aston Martin driver is fine and out of the car, which is being lifted by a crane at Turn 8.
      Red Flag – Lance Stroll crashes
      The Aston Martin man crashes out right at the end of the session. He spun and is in the barriers.
      The Canadian driver is making this somewhat a habit.
      Hamilton is going for it here.
      He is out on the slicks, He’s taken a set of soft tyres in the hope of going quickest.
      He means business this weekend.
      Hamilton on Track
      The Mercedes man is out on track, which is still damp in parts. He’s on the intermediate tyres.
      He had a decent first sector, but he’s now eased off as he slowly gets up to speed.
      21 Minutes to go
      We have no cars on track, but plenty of grey clouds ahead.
      Hamilton has just walked out to the pitwall to wave to the fans, who aren’t getting their money’s worth in terms of on-track action.
      Still just eight drivers on track
      The weather has put many teams off from running, which is strange as you’d expect the wet-weather running to be of some use – particularly here.
      Sainz leads from Leclerc, Bottas currently in P3.

      The Ferrari driver is the first one to churn out a flying lap of 1:43:001 with most of the drivers opting to stay dry for the time being.
      Even with their green intermediate tyres on, drivers are reporting slipping in certain areas of the track.
      Half of Silverstone seems to be under rain while the sun is starting to show its face in certain areas.

      The heavens have opened up!
      Just as the cars head out of their garages the rain has started to pour here at Silverstone.
      This is now what any team would have wanted as they now will not be able to get a clear picture of how the new upgrades fair around the track.
      But spare a thought for the fans who have had to put their brollies up and ponchos on in an effort to stay dry!

      The wait to see how fast the new Mercedes is should not be too long as both drivers are first out of their garages!
      Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are just behind.
      All eyes on the home favourites
      Hamilton, George Russell and Lando Norris will all be cheered on by the home crowd at Silverstone this weekend but this afternoon’s practice sessions will give us an insight on whether any of them will be capable of taking a win come Sunday.
      Merc driver Hamilton’s preparation for his home race has been clouded by a racism storm after being racially abused by three-time world champion Nelson Piquet.
      But Silver Arrows boss Toto Wolff told SunSport exclusively feels the race-hate can fuel his bid to win.

      MARK GONZALEZ scored twice as Liverpool Legends defeated Manchester United Legends 3-1 at Old Trafford.Luis Garcia had put the visitors ahead in sublime fashion before Dimitar Berbatov equalied with a coolly taken penalty.
      Super-sub Mark Gonzalez then put the game out of United’s reach with two classy finishes, including a free-kick.
      The star-studded match took place at Old Trafford and all proceeds go to the Manchester United Foundation.

      Jimmy Greaves dead at 81: Tottenham & Chelsea tributes to England’s ‘greatest ever striker’ as footballer passes away

      LEGENDARY pundit and footballer Jimmy Greaves has passed away aged 81, it has been confirmed.Greavesy, who was Tottenham Hotspur’s record goalscorer, died at home on Sunday morning, the club confirmed.
      In a statement, Spurs said: “We are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of the great Jimmy Greaves, not just Tottenham’s record goalscorer but the finest marksman this country has ever seen. Jimmy passed away at home in the early hours of this morning, aged 81.
      “Throughout his wonderful playing career, Jimmy’s strike rate was phenomenal.
      “His Spurs return was 266 goals in 379 appearances between 1961 and 1970 – 220 goals in 321 league games, 32 goals in 36 FA Cup ties, five in just eight League Cup ties and nine in 14 European matches.”
      It comes after Greaves suffered a stroke in May 2015 which had left him wheelchair-bound and with severely impaired speech.

      The FA paid tribute to Jimmy Greaves’ long list of accomplishments.
      “We’d like to express our sorrow at the sad news of former England international and FA Cup winner Jimmy Greaves’ death.
      “The former Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United striker was one of the most successful players of his generation and his passing at the age of 81 was announced today.
      “A member of England’s World Cup winning squad in 1966, he won a total of 57 caps and scored 44 goals for the Three Lions between his debut in 1959 and his final appearance in 1967.

      Manchester United great David Beckham paid tribute to fellow legend Jimmy Greaves.
      Beckham described Greaves as one of the players he loved watching in action when he was young.

      England manager Gareth Southgate announced that England will pay tribute to the legendary Jimmy Greaves before their match with Hungary at Wembley Stadium next month.

      RIOTS and bloodshed broke out at Diego Maradona’s funeral in Buenos Aires as thousands lined the streets to see his coffin.
      His heartbroken fans lined streets of the Argentine on Thursday as his coffin was taken out from the Casa Rosada government house to be laid to rest in the outskirts of the city, where his parents are also buried.

      Some mourners clashed with police in the Argentinian capital as emotions ran high.
      And one funeral worker invoked fury by taking a selfie with the former World Cup winner’s coffin.
      Maradona died on Wednesday from a heart attack at the age of 60 just hours after telling his family he was feeling unwell.
      The football legend passed away at his home in Buenos Aires two weeks after being released from hospital for a bleed on his brain.

      Maradona came down for breakfast on Wednesday morning looking pale and complaining about feeling cold. He told his nephew that he felt sick before returning to bed where he was later found dead by a nurse.

      MARADONA’S LAWYER THREATENS ACTION OVER FUNERAL WORKER’S SELFIE
      The lawyer for Diego Maradona has threatened legal action after pictures emerged of three funeral workers posing next to the late Argentinian footballer’s open coffin.
      Photos have emerged of funeral worker’s posing for pictures next to the open casket of the late footballing hero.
      One showed a man in a white shirt and black tie standing over the coffin, giving a thumbs up, while another showed two men by Maradona’s body.
      Maradona’s lawyer, Matías Morla, said he had identified the “piece of s**t” who had taken the image of himself next to the coffin, adding: “For the sake of my friend’s memory, I will not rest until he pays for this outrage.”

      Lampard, who made 106 appearances for the national side, said the Argentine was the reason he fell in love with the game.

      GIANT PICTURE OF MARADONA ERECTED
      A giant photo of Diego Maradona has been erected in the footballer’s honour in Italy.
      The picture has been put up on the outside of the Royal Palace in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples.
      It has already become something of an attraction for fans with many leaving flowers and other memorabilia of the Argentine star who spent a long period of his career at Napoli.
      A toddler was also caught on camera practicing his footie skills in front of the memorial.

      MARADONA’S FAVOURITE RESTAURANT TABLE PERMANENTLY RESERVED
      Salt Bae has permanently reserved Diego Maradona’s favourite table at his iconic Dubai restaurant.
      Bae, whose real name is Nusret Gökçe, shared a video of the table which featured a framed picture of the sporting great and a sign saying “reserved”.
      Gökçe wrote: “This was your favourite table Maradona. Table is reserved forever for you. RIP Legend.”

      MORE BLOOD SPILLED IN CLASHES
      More blood was spilled during clashed between Maradona fans and police.
      Cops struggled to maintain order as emotions ran high with fans eager to pay their last respects to the footballing legend.
      Pictures show police swooping in to make arrests with some fans sustaining bloody injuries.

      Clashes between cops and Maradona fans erupted for the second day running as Argentina continued its three days of official mourning.
      Skirmishes broke out as fans were desperate to pay their last respects to their hero who died on Wednesday from a heart attack.
      As tensions rose the last goodbye was suspended as police made a number of arrests.

      FLARES AND FIRES LIT AS NAPOLI FANS HONOUR MARADONA
      Napoli fans lit fires and flares outside the San Paolo stadium in Naples as they mourned their hero Diego Maradona.
      Hundreds of fans of the Argentine star gathered last night to pay their respects.
      Maradona joined the Italian side from Barcelona in 1984 and remained with the club until 1991.
      He scored 81 goals for the side and became a firm favourite with loyal fans.

      BRAZIL PUTS ASIDE FOOTBALL RIVALRY TO HONOUR MARADONA
      Brazil may be fierce rivals with Argentina on the pitch but the country still honoured Diego Maradona.
      But they are putting aside the argument to mourn the death of Maradona.
      Ex-presidents, author Paulo Coelho and former competitors were among Brazilians paying tribute to Maradona for his influence on the game and charisma off the field.

      NAPOLI TO RENAME STADIUM TO HONOUR MARADONA
      Napoli are set to rename their Stadio San Paolo after Diego Maradona following the club legend’s death.
      The Serie A side’s president Aurelio de Laurentiis is already in talks with the Naples city mayor over the change.
      De Laurentiis told Sky Italy: “I’ve been in talks with local authorities for the past 17 years, I have always asked to buy the stadium and rename it ‘Diego Armando Maradona’.
      “If then, for tradition, we will need to call it both ‘San Paolo’ and ‘Maradona’ so be it.
      “It won’t change much, but it’s only right that Maradona has this recognition.

      MOURINHO PAYS TRIBUTE TO MARADONA
      Tottenham Hotspur coach Jose Mourinho has paid tribute to his friend Diego Maradona after the Argentine star died on Wednesday.
      Mourinho paid honoured Maradona after Spurs’ 4-0 victory over Ludogorets in the Europa League.
      “Maradona the world knows, the world never forgets,” he said. “I made sure that my son knows a lot about him, even being born after he was a player. I know my son will make sure when he is a father he will not let his kids forget.
      “It was a bit similar with [Alfredo] Di Stefano; I never saw him play football, but my dad made sure I knew a lot about him. With these generations, we have players of our generations, and in my generation was what everybody knows.”
      He added: “I know him well enough and in my big defeats, he would always call me. In my big victories, never. But I will miss Diego, and I am very sad but I have a smile because with him, every minute I spent with him was to laugh.”

      POLICE AND FANS CLASH ONCE AGAIN
      Fans of Diego Maradona and cops clashed once again as people were desperate to see their footballing icon one last time.
      Tensions quickly escalated as fans tried to pay their last respects to the Argentine hero.
      Only family members and close friends were able to attend the private ceremony at the Jardin Bella Vista as Maradona was laid to rest.

      FUNERAL: IN PICS
      Crowds lined the street to catch a glimpse of Maradona’s hearse as head towards the cemetery.
      Hundreds of supporters crowded the road in an outpour of grief.
      A small group of family and friends carried Diego Maradona’s casket with the flag of Argentina draped over it.
      About a dozen people were present for the private religious ceremony and burial of the former forward.

      COFFIN DRIVEN TO FUNERAL AS MOURNERS LINE STREETS
      Mourners have lined the streets as Diego Maradona’s coffin is driven to the football legend’s funeral in Buenos Aires on Thursday.
      Grieving supporters cried as the hearse carrying the former forward drove past them today in Buenos Aires.
      Maradona was laid to rest next to his parents Dalma and Diego at the Jardin de Paz cemetery.
      A small group of family and friends carried his casket with the flag of Argentina draped over it into the the cemetery.
      About a dozen people were gathered for the private religious ceremony and burial.
      His body was meant to lie in state for three days at the presidential palace after Argentina’s president Alberto Fernandez declared three days of mourning for Maradona.

      MORE PATERNITY CLAIMS
      In the wake of a reunion with Diego Jr and Jana, more women came forward with paternity claims against Maradona.
      In March 2019, he accepted paternity of three Cuban children, reportedly from two mothers, although their identities remain a secret.
      Maradona had spent many months in Havana between 2000 and 2005 while undergoing treatment for a cocaine habit, even befriending then-President Fidel Castro during his time in the country.
      Maradona later got a tattoo of Castro’s face on his leg.
      At least three other women have come forward claiming Maradona to be the father of their children, but he did not publicly confirm they were his before his death.
      His youngest child, Diego Fernando, is just seven, and was born in 2013.
      Maradona had been dating his mother, Veronica Ojeda, before dumping her when she was four months pregnant for Rocio Oliva, 30 years his junior.

      CHILDREN & LOVE CHILDREN
      While two of his children, daughters Dalma and Giannina, were with his first wife Claudia Villafane, Diego has at least three other kids – with unconfirmed rumours of more.
      In 2016, after nearly 30 years of denying paternity, Diego finally recognised Diego Jr Sinagra as his son.
      He had been born in September 1986 after Diego’s affair with model Cristina Sinagra while he played for Napoli.
      Despite years of campaigning from his mum – and even rumours that the Pope had got involved – Diego refused to accept he was the father, despite an Italian court proclaiming him as the father as early as 1995.
      He finally had a change of heart after another love child, Jana, got to know him by secretly meeting with him at a gym he attended in Buenos Aires.
      Maradona had fathered Jana, now a lingerie model, after a brief fling with nightclub worker Valeria Sabalain while still married to Claudia Villafane.
      Diego Jr, who had a career as a lower league footballer in Italy, publicly posed for pictures with Diego after a family reunion.
      Maradona Sr said: “I’m very happy because I’ve been reunited with my son.
      “I’ve been reunited with him as I was reunited with Jana.
      “I love him a lot and he’s very like me.”

      FORMER LOVER CLAIMS SHE WAS BANNED FROM WAKE
      Maradona’s former lover Rocio Oliva has spoken in tears claiming she was banned from the wake by his ex-wife Claudia Villafane.
      Oliva called the ban ‘a disgrace’ in an emotional interview outside the doors of Argentina’s equivalent of the White House.
      She claimed she had been excluded from a list of the retired footballer’s closest family and friends already inside the Casa Rosada and told to queue with the rest of the public.
      Oliva spent six years with the recovering drug addict and came close to marrying him before their split at the end of 2018.
      As she fought back tears after being turned away before the public were allowed in to see Diego in his coffin, she said: “The decision on who gets in depends on Claudia.
      “I don’t know why they’re doing this to me. All I wanted to do was say goodbye to Diego.
      “I was his last partner. I have as much right as anyone else to say goodbye to him.
      “They should think a bit more about Diego who’s dead now.”
      In a menacing emotional last comment before she left, she said: “God sees everything and they are going to pay for this.”

      WHO WAS MARADONA’S FIRST WIFE?
      Maradona met his wife Claudia Villafane when she was 17 and he 19.
      They married after a long engagement in 1989 and were wed 25 years, but the pair endured a turbulent relationship over three decades.
      Maradona has two children with Claudia, who has been a film producer, reality TV star and actress in her career.
      However, their marriage was fraught with rumours of Diego’s infidelity.
      The couple divorced in 2004, but continued to be seen together in the years that followed, including at the 2006 World Cup.
      The pair then drifted apart but made more headlines together in 2018, when Maradona sued Claudia for allegedly stealing his money and using it to buy apartments in Florida.
