He is now waiting on tests that will assess how serious the injury is.

He said: “Ancelotti himself told us that he did not understand the tackle, that it was irrelevant.
“His ankle and hip were touched and a tackle of this style is not understandable. Seeing the minute and the result even less so.

    Full-time: Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
That’s it. Goalless as Greenwood fails to make an impact off the bench.
Villarreal held on for 67 minutes with 10 men after Alex Baena’s sending off for a first-half elbow.
An afternoon to forget for the neutral.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
90+3 mins: Getafe continue to press for a winner but every cross is being dealt with.
Greenwood receives the ball on the left, cuts inside, and scuffs an effort into the arms of Jorgensen.
It’s not been a great afternoon for the Manchester United loanee.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
90+1 mins: Villarreal almost steal it on the break!
Femenia escapes down the left and finds Breretion Diaz in the box but he can’t get the ball under control and Getafe clear.
Great chance for the ex-Stoke man to be the match winner.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
90 mins: Cross in from the right is headed safely into Jorgensen’s hands by Latasa.
Four minutes of stoppage time to be played.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
89 mins: Throw-in for Getafe. Last roll of the dice here before we enter stoppage time.
Comes to nothing as Villarreal push them back towards their own half.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
87 mins: Alena is robbed of the ball by Capoue and Villarreal try to break but it’s snuffed out.
Into the final few minutes. Both sides sleepwalking towards a draw here.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
84 mins: Greenwood floats a superb cross into the box for Latasa but the striker can’t quite time his jump well enough to get on the end of it.
Best moment of quality from Greenwood. Inches away from the perfect delivery.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
81 mins: Greenwood back on the left again. He comes inside but doesn’t look very comfortable on his right foot.
He tries a shot that is easily blocked, before Arambarri’s venomous attempt is parried away superbly by Jorgensen!
Another fine save from the Villarreal shot-stopper.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
78 mins: Getafe win a corner. It bounces around as Villarreal scramble to clear before left-back Rico slams over the bar.
Poor effort. Sums up the game.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
75 mins: Villarreal make their way into the Getafe half but again it comes to nothing.
Is there a magic spark left in this game as we head into the final quarter of an hour?
Greenwood is yet to make a real impact.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
72 mins: Greenwood receives the ball on the right flank and his cross is deflected out for a corner.
Ex-Spurs man Foyth is then replaced by Ramon Terrats after appearing to suffer a hamstring injury.
Blow for Villarreal who are hanging on here.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
69 mins: Close again for the hosts. Arambarri again involved as he fires a cross-shot towards Latasa who can’t quite get a toe on the ball.
Latasa then has a tame header saved by Jorgensen. Better from Getafe.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
67 mins: Getafe win a free-kick which Greenwood stands over.
He plays it short to Arambarri on the edge of the box and he let’s fly but sees his effort whistle over the bar.
    Neat routine. Poor execution.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
64 mins: Another good opportunity for Getafe goes begging.
Mayoral heads down for Aramabarri and his header is floating towards the top corner before Jorgensen plucks it out of the air.
A fairly routine save in the end, but one he had to make.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
61 mins: A rare foray into the Getafe half for Villarreal.
Femenia whips a cross in from the right and Sorloth heads harmlessly over the crossbar.
That’s been about as good as it’s got for the visitors.

    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal

58 mins: Greenwood has now switched to the right-hand side where he impressed for Man Utd.
Juanmi Latasa gets some space for a header but his glancing effort drifts wide of the far post.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
55 mins: Greenwood is playing of the left again this afternoon.
He did the same against Athletic Bilbao in midweek and provided an assist from that flank.
At Manchester United, he spent most of his time playing off the right or through the middle.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
52 mins: Mayoral goes down in the middle of the park but the decision goes against him as Villarreal get some restbite.
Getafe labouring at the start of this second half. They need to up the intensity if they are going to break down the stubborn visitors.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
49 mins: Greenwood makes his first real contribution. He comes in off the left and attempts a low effort with his right foot but it’s blocked.
Was never going to trouble the Getafe goal anyway.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
47 mins: Villarreal also made two changes at the break. They have brought on ex-Liverpool man Alberto Moreno and Kiko Femenia for Alfonso Pedraza and Jose Luis Morales.
Greenwood replaced Oscar Rodriguez who was on a yellow card.
    Greenwood comes on
Here we go with the second half and here comes Mason Greenwood for Getafe.
He will be looking to make an impression over the course of the next 45 minutes.
    HT: Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
Getafe had eight shots and three on target in that opening 45 minutes.
Villarreal had one shot and none on target.
The hosts have also had 60 per cent of the ball, dominating in every area.
    HT: Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
Safe to say it hasn’t been a classic. Hopefully things change after the break.
At the moment it reflects two sides who have a combined four wins from 14 LaLiga games so far this season.

    HT: Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
Half-time: That’s the end of the first 45 minutes following an additional three.
The big talking point was Alex Baena’s elbow which saw him sent off and Villarreal reduced to 10 men.
Villarreal keeper Filip Jorgensen has made a couple of oustanding saves, but Getafe would have liked to create more than they have since the dismissal.
Expect Mason Greenwood to make an appearance off the bench after the break.
    Getafe 0-0 Villarreal
43 mins: Getafe being kept at arm’s length towards the end of the first half.
Not a lot going on. Could well see the introduction of Mason Greenwood to try and unlock Villarreal’s 10 men.
Lacking a bit of creativity at the moment.

Pep Guardiola’s brother, 47, leads minnows to top of LaLiga as he prepares to face Jude Bellingham in title clash

And that it is Spanish minnows Girona, not Manchester City, who are No 1.
The unlikely LaLiga pace-setters went to the summit after their win at Villarreal on Wednesday night.
Next up, and visiting the 14,000-capacity Estadi Montilivi on Saturday, are Jude Bellingham and second-placed Real Madrid.
The prospect of Girona, who joined the global City Football Group headed by the Etihad outfit in 2017, playing in the Champions League may already be causing concerns for Uefa.

Their rules currently ban clubs under mutual ownership playing in the same competition.
Yet the Catalan side, in only their fourth LaLiga campaign in 90 years, are the fairytale story of the season.
A side that plays Pep-like football — all about excitement and attacking, high pressing and quick feet rather than the overwhelming control of City.
But one that has done it on a shoestring, featuring a cast of unlikely stars and a Middlesbrough flop who is a true local hero.

Pere Guardiola at 47, five years younger than his sibling, came to prominence initially as an agent, with clients including Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta.
But in 2017, shortly before the City buy-out, he took a 16 per cent stake in Girona, where he is now ‘chairman’, combined with work as a player representative.
It has not been an unmitigated success, with three years in Liga B after relegation in 2019 and promotion then only gained via the play-offs.
That was the first season with former Rayo Vallecano midfielder Michel as boss — and the start of a rebuild led by one-time Boro winger Cristhian Stuani.
The Uruguayan, now 36, refused to leave after relegation, pledging to stay until he had scored for the club in LaLiga once more, a feat he has now accomplished 12 times in 40 matches.
One-time Manchester United stalwart Daley Blind has brought experience, with former City man Eric Garcia on loan from Barcelona.
The craft comes from Ukrainian Viktor Tsyhankov, signed from Dinamo Kiev, and 19-year-old Brazilian schemer Savio, who is on loan from French sister club Troyes.
Six wins and a draw in an unbeaten start has seen the 18-goal joint top scorers rise to the summit for the first time in the club’s history.
Michel, who gave the go-ahead for a celebratory dressing-room picture after Wednesday’s win, said: “It’s great to look at the table and see that we are top.

Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski’s bizarre ‘backwards eating diet’ revealed and it’s inspired by nutritionist wife Anna

BARCELONA superstar Robert Lewandowski has adopted a strange backwards eating diet that sees him eat dessert BEFORE starters.Lewandowski is one of the best strikers in the world having terrorised opposing defences for years during his time at Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and now Barca.

And the 35-year-old has stated he didn’t really reach the best of his ability until he sorted his diet out.
Many would think that means he would cut sugar, fast food and alcohol, but in the Poland international’s case it means something way more radical.
According to The Guardian, Lewandowski switched the order of his meals as part of a diet that would be the dream of any child told by their mum they have to eat their veggies before pudding.
The Pole star always starts with dessert before moving on to his starter and main course.

But there is a method to this madness as Lewa was inspired by his wife Anna, who is a former karate champion that now specialises in fitness and nutrition.
The idea behind it is that sugary foods are digested faster and thus re-ordering meals ensures they don’t mix with other food groups, like proteins and carbohydrates.
This unique approach helps fat burn quicker and has worked out for the Barcelona star who is still in sensational shape despite his advanced age.
Lewandowski’s former Poland team-mate Thiago Cionek, though, insists there is much more to his diet assigned by Anna.

Cionek told ESPN: “He is a guy who is hungry to improve as a player, and for that reason, he has a special diet that his wife gives him.
“She is a nutritionist and is well known in Poland. Robert even told me that the big change in his career, when he reached the elite clubs and in the national team, was when he radically changed what he ate.
“On game day, he eats a lot of protein. And there is always tuna for breakfast. He also avoids anything with gluten and lactose.
“The day before playing, after dinner, he still finishes off with a bowl of rice pudding to fill the body with carbohydrates and glucose to play the next day. Then, in recovery, there are lots of vegetables and avocado.” More
