Lionel Messi ‘agrees £2.4MILLION-a-week Man City contract’ with father Jorge in Barcelona for showdown transfer talks

LIONEL MESSI has reportedly agreed a record £623million deal to join Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The 33-year-old is set on forcing his way out of Barcelona after handing in a transfer request.

    3

Here’s how much Lionel Messi will earn from the new deal
According to Record Sport, Messi has agreed financial terms on a five-year contract worth a total of €700m (£623m).
The incredible deal would make the Argentina captain the highest-paid individual in the history of the sport.
It equates to £14,200 an hour, £341,000 per day, £2.4m every week and a whopping £10.4m per month.
Messi is set to spend three seasons at the Etihad before joining City Football Group’s (CFG) Major League Soccer side New York City FC for two years.

It is also reported that Messi could be offered an equity stake in CFG as part of his package.
The six-time Ballon d’Or winner has been at loggerheads with Barcelona since he handed in his transfer request to leave on a free.
New Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has decided that if Messi does not want to stay at the Spanish giants it would be better to get him out as soon as possible.

    3

Lionel Messi has rocked the football world be expressing his desire to leave Barcelona
And Barca presidential hopeful Victor Font insists current president Josep Maria Bartomeu must honour his pledge to allow the Argentine superstar “to leave whenever he wants.”

Messi’s father and representative, Jorge Messi, yesterday flew by private jet from his home in Rosario, Argentina, to Spain for showdown talks with Barcelona chiefs today.
And Font declared: “A couple of months ago the president said players have earned the right to leave and retire whenever they want.
“Now, because of these very exceptional circumstances, he has to honour that commitment.”
When asked whether Messi had been betrayed by the club, Font added: “There is an inconsistency, probably due to mismanagement by the current  board, trying to hide behind these wrongdoings.

    3

“That’s why it’s extremely important for the history of the club that we do what it takes.”
Barcelona claim Messi, 33, is on STRIKE after failing to report for a Covid test and pre-season training.
But the superstar no longer considers himself a part of  Koeman’s squad following a bitter row over his contract.

His legal team claim he is now a free agent after faxing his transfer request and can leave without his huge 700m euros buy-out clause being paid, while Barca and LaLiga insist the contract terms are still in force.

In a Sky Sports interview Font added: “I’m sure what Messi has decided has not been a last-minute decision, it’ll be something well thought out.
“I really hope the decision can be changed, but it doesn’t seem likely and if that’s the case the focus should be on  getting the transition that Messi deserves.
“We  need to ensure  the  legal battle between the club and  Messi stops. We sit down, we talk. Let’s make sure we don’t get into an even worse situation.”

Gareth Bale pleads with Real Madrid to let him leave after club made transfer exit ‘very difficult’

GARETH BALE sent a desperate plea to Premier League clubs last night to end his Real Madrid hell.
The former Tottenham star even accused the Spanish giants of stifling his career after blocking his big-money move to China last summer.

    4

Bale showed off his long hair during Wales training
Bale has been frozen out by Real boss Zinedine Zidane but will end a ten-week football exile when he leads Wales out in tomorrow’s Nations League clash in Finland.
And the 31-year-old says he feels more appreciated with Ryan Giggs’ men than the torment he is suffering at the Bernabeu – and would be open to a Prem return.
Bale said: “It’s one of those situations if those options arise it’s something I would look at, for sure. We’ll see what happens.

“We have plenty of time in this transfer window and I guess a couple of others as well. Time will tell.

“It’s not really in my hands, the decision is in Real Madrid’s hands. They make things very difficult to be honest.
“Whatever goes on at Madrid doesn’t really affect me. Everyone knows how passionate I am to play for Wales and how much I love coming away with Wales.
“When I come here I’m very happy, comfortable and feel welcomed. It’s nice to be back at a place where you are a little bit more appreciated and supported by your fans no matter what.
“I come here excited to play football and motivated to do well and get back to playing football where I belong.”

Bale, who cost Real £86million in 2013, has won four Champions League titles in Spain but played just 100 minutes of their previous 12 games since the lockdown.
He also asked to be left out of the Spanish club’s Champions League last-16 tie at Manchester City last month because he knew he would not play.
Bale’s conduct has been questioned in Spain as he was spotted joking around in the stands as an unused substitute by making a binoculars gesture.

However, Bale had fallen out of favour with Zidane pre-Covid-19 and Wales’ talisman tried to quit last summer only for Real to call off the mega £1m-a-week move to Chinese Super League club Jiangsu Suning at the 11th hour.
Bale, on a whopping £650,000-a-week wages at the Spanish giants, added: “I think the club needs to answer that question because I tried to leave last year.
“They blocked everything at the last second. It was a project I was excited for last year but it didn’t materialise.
“There have been other instances where I have tried to go but the club won’t allow it or they have done something.
“It’s for the club. What can I say? I want to play football. I’m still motivated to play football. I guess it’s on the club. I can’t do much. They are in control of everything.
“I have a contract and all I can do is carry on with what I am doing and hopefully something comes up. It’s in the club’s hands.”
Bale may have got the chop from Real’s first team squad as Zidane’s side went on to win La Liga in July.
But Wales’ record goalscorer with 33 goals has shown he is still the mane man for his country when he let his hair down and was seen laughing and joking with his team-mates in yesterday’s training session before departing for Helsinki.

Bale said: “I want to be playing football. I’m only 31 but I feel I am in great shape still. I feel I have a lot to give. We have two big games coming up. This is the start for us to prepare for the Euros next year.
“We’re all focused. We haven’t had much time to prepare for these games. I haven’t been back in training yet, I have just come back off holiday.
“I have kept myself fit over the summer. We just need to prepare for next year’s Euros. We have a lot of games leading into that and it starts on Thursday.”

Juventus icon Marchisio hints at Luis Suarez transfer in cryptic tweet after Barcelona outcast ‘agrees terms’ with club

CLAUDIO MARCHISIO fuelled speculation that Luis Suarez is set to join Juventus with a cryptic Twitter post.
The 33-year-old has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Italian side after being told he can leave Barcelona.

And club legend Marchisio sent fans wild as he hinted at the move on social media.
The 34-year-old, who played for the club from 2005 until 2018, shared a photograph of himself.
He added the caption: “Welcome September! Aspettando @LuisSuarez?!? #Turin”, meaning “waiting for Suarez”.
One fan replied: “Oh my, it’s actually happening.”

Another Twitter user said: “Agent Marchisio on duty.”
And one joked: “See if by chance they can give you Lionel Messi in the shipment.”
Suarez has been forced to find a new club after Ronald Koeman told him he was no longer needed at the Nou Camp.
Should Barca fail to get an offer for Suarez,  they would have to fork out £12million to cancel his contract.

The former Liverpool forward has reportedly been in touch with Juve chief Pavel Nedved to discuss a move.
New Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo is also said to be a huge fan of the Uruguay star.
Should he complete the transfer to Turin, he will link-up with old rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

Gareth Bale in another Real Madrid transfer exit blow with club ‘refusing to pay up £30m wages to buy out contract’

GARETH BALE’S Real Madrid misery looks set to continue amid reports the club are refusing to pay him off for the rest of his contract.
The Welshman’s £15.1million salary over the remaining two years of his deal means Los Blancos would need to give him a golden handshake in the region of £30.2m.

    1

However, amid the financial impact of the coronavirus, the Spanish giants are in no position to do that.
Marca claimed a meeting between Stellar Group, Bale’s representatives, and Madrid chiefs had been set-up to try and sort out his future and a potential transfer away.
However, the Daily Mail states no such talks are imminent, with his agent Jonathan Barnett repeating that the former Tottenham star wants to see out the remainder of his contract.

Marca also claim Madrid want clarification from Bale regarding his commitment to the club.

After being outcast towards the end of the LaLiga campaign, he opted not to travel with his team-mates to Manchester City last month for the second-leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.
He played just 100 minutes during their final 11 matches of what resulted in a title-winning season.
Last summer he was on the verge of a mega-money switch to Chinese Super League side only for Madrid president Florentino Perez to pull the plug late on.
The forward is currently enjoying some respite from his Bernabeu woes after joining up with Ryan Giggs’ Wales squad for their upcoming Nations League games.

He was pictured earlier laughing and joking around in training – as well as showing off his flowing locks.
Giggs has previously warned Bale that he will not get any special treatment with Wales.
And the Dragons boss concedes he may have a decision to make on Bale’s game time at next summer’s Euros if his Real Madrid woes continue.

Lautaro Martinez ‘to reject Barcelona transfer and no longer wants move from Inter Milan due to Lionel Messi saga’

LAUTARO MARTINEZ will reject a Barcelona transfer and no longer wants to leave Inter Milan because of the Lionel Messi saga, according to reports.
Barca had identified the Inter striker, 23, as a summer target and a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

The Catalan giants were at one stage ready to stump up as much as the £97million release clause for the Argentine forward.
But according to Corriere dello Sport in Italy, Martinez – who scored 21 in 49 last season – has been put off a move to the Nou Camp by the events currently unfolding.
Instead, he could be on course to pen a new contract at the San Siro – with no release clause – especially if he cannot link up with his hero in Spain.
As revealed by SunSport, Manchester City are also weighing up a move for Martinez as the successor to Sergio Aguero’s centre-forward spot.

Messi, 33, sent shockwaves across the football world by telling Barcelona he wants to quit the club he joined nearly 20 years ago.
Martinez’s international team-mate’s future remains unclear with a move to Manchester City the most likely destination should he make an exit.
Barca midfielder Frenkie de Jong described the situation as a “mess” and “chaos”.
He said: “Currently it’s a mess at Barcelona, so many strange things happening, it’s chaos.

“But if Messi really leaves, it will be a huge blow to the team and the club.”
His father and agent Jorge admitted it will be “difficult” for the footballer to stay at Barcelona.
Messi Sr jetted in to Barcelona from Argentina for showdown talks over his son’s future this morning.
And as he was entering the club offices, he admitted to El Chiringuito TV that his son is highly likely to leave.
Messi is now locked in dispute with the Spanish giants over after claiming that a release clause in his contract allows him to quit for nothing with immediate effect.
Nou Camp officials believe the stipulation expired on June 10, with the Argentine superstar under contract until the summer of 2021.

Barcelona vow to take Lionel Messi and Man City to court if he completes stunning free transfer amid contract row

BARCELONA have escalated their contract row with Lionel Messi by vowing to take their captain to court should he seal a free transfer away from the club, according to reports in Spain.
Sport claim the Catalans will also begin legal proceedings with the club that signs the Argentine following links of a move to Manchester City.

Messi last week stunned Barca bosses after handing in a transfer request, signalling his intent to leave the club after 16 seasons.
The 33-year-old has claimed that a release clause in his contract allows him to quit for nothing with immediate effect.

However, Nou Camp officials believe the stipulation expired on June 10, with the Argentine superstar under contract until the summer of 2021.
And LaLiga have backed Barcelona insisting Messi’s £629million buy-out clause is still valid.

The forward has since taken matters into his own hands and refused to turn up to training ahead of the new season.
SunSport previously reported that City and Pep Guardiola could sign Messi on a provisional transfer.
Spanish outlet Sport cited a precedent that allegedly exists between Fifa and the Swiss Court of Arbitration for Sport that would see Messi’s right to work “prevail” over the commercial dispute between the two parties.
A report today argued that Barcelona will now take the six-time Ballon d’Or winner and City – should they sign him – to court if Fifa grants the move.

Messi and his lawyers meanwhile are ready to battle on two legal fronts as they feel the Spanish giants do not have a leg to stand on.
His father and agent Jorge has since jetted in to Barcelona from Argentina for showdown talks over his son’s future.
When quizzed by reporters, Messi Snr admitted it will be ‘diffficult’ for his son to stay at Barca, given the contract fall-out between both parties.
His team-mates are also in turmoil over the surperstar’s shock decision to quit Barcelona, admits Frenkie de Jong.

The Dutchman told Fox Sports: “Currently it’s a mess at Barcelona, so many strange things happening, it’s chaos.”
There’s still some hope that Messi will stay at the Nou Camp, as he’s still a-part of the teams’ WhatsApp group, de Jong revealed.
He said: “He’s still in the group chat, I’m not someone who talks about it with him, I’m sure he has many people around him doing that these days.”

Luis Suarez ‘agrees personal terms’ with Juventus ahead of transfer from Barcelona after being told to leave

LUIS SUAREZ has reportedly agreed personal terms with Juventus after being told he can leave Barcelona.
The Uruguayan international is poised to depart the Nou Camp after he was deemed surplus to requirements by Ronald Koeman.

Should Barca fail to get an offer for Suarez, they would have to fork out £12million to cancel his contract.
Ajax have already confirmed their interest in signing the 33-year-old as they look to bring the player back to Holland.

But a move to Turin has also been reported, where he could link up with old rival Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.
It was reported over the weekend that Suarez has spoken to Juve chief Pavel Nedved to discuss a potential switch to Italy.

And according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady has now agreed personal terms with the player’s representatives during a second meeting.
The report adds that Suarez is set to pen a £9million-a-year contract after-tax – the same wage he is currently raking in at Barcelona.
Juve boss Andrea Pirlo has identified the ex-Liverpool ace as a replacement for Gonzalo Higuain, who has been linked with an MLS switch.
Suarez took to social media last week where he broke his silence on speculation regarding his future.
