Man Utd offered Sergio Reguilon transfer by Real Madrid but it could only be a loan despite £27m bid

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly been offered Sergio Reguilon on loan, despite bidding £27million.
The defender enjoyed a breakthrough season playing for Sevilla last season having been loaned out by Real Madrid.

Man Utd have reportedly been offered Sergio Reguilon on loan, despite bidding £27m
And despite being voted LaLiga’s best left-back last term, Bernabeu boss Zinedine Zidane has no plans for Reguilon to stay in the Spanish capital this season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United have the chance to sign the 23-year-old on loan.
It comes after they already offered £27m to sign him permanently, but Sport say Madrid are undecided on whether they want to let the full-back leave permanently.
If the Spanish champions wish to keep Reguilon on their books, United could have to settle for a loan move.

PSG, Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham are also among those interested in signing the Spaniard.
But United emerge as frontrunners to sign him, with Solskjaer keen to bolster his options at left-back and provide competition for places.

Luke Shaw remains injury prone while Brandon Williams is regarded as one for the future after his emergence.
Reguilon currently has no space in the Madrid side, with Ferland Mendy overtaking Marcelo as the club’s preferred left-back.

The defender is also open to spending another year at Sevilla.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez ordered to train alone by Ronald Koeman despite risk of upsetting best mate Lionel Messi

Messi made a sensational U-turn and announced he would STAY at Barcelona on Friday, despite previously making official his desire to leave the Catalan giants.
The 33-year-old icon was seeking a new challenge but had a rethink after Barca stood firm and a costly legal battle over his release clause loomed.
Uruguayan Suarez, 33, got the chop from Koeman with the former Holland boss suggesting he was not part of his Nou Camp overhaul.

The former Liverpool man was reportedly ‘very upset’ after a brutal one-minute phone call virtually ended his Blaugrana career.

European rivals Juventus are hoping to poach Suarez on a free transfer.
The Old Lady are reportedly aiming to seal a bargain transfer by only paying Barca performance-related bonuses for Suarez’s signature.
Messi and Suarez are close pals and the rash treatment of his colleague is not believed to have sat well with the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Suarez was spotted visiting Messi’s home with his family on Friday in what could have been an emotional farewell.

Leeds plot transfer of £14.3m Barcelona star Rafinha who wants to play in Prem with brother and Liverpool target Thiago

LEEDS are plotting a transfer swoop for Barcelona star Rafinha, according to reports.
The Premier League newcomers want to bolster their midfield ahead of their long-awaited return to the top-flight.

And according to Sport in Spain, Barcelona will demand £14.3million for their academy graduate, who joined the club aged 13.
He has featured 90 times for the senior side, scoring 12 goals, since making his first-team debut in the 2011/12 season but was shipped out on loan to Celta Vigo and then Inter Milan.
Rafinha, 27, spent last season back at Celta who had the option to make the switch permanent for the same fee Barca are quoting to Leeds.
But despite being keen to get a deal over the line, the Galicia side were unable to stump up the cash and Rafinha is keen on testing himself in the Premier League.

Leeds are thought to face some competition for the midfielder, who is the younger brother of Thiago.
Thiago, 29, also came through at La Masia but only spent three seasons as a first-team regular before joining Bayern Munich in 2013.
He has made 235 appearances for the Bundesliga giants, winning seven league titles and the Champions League.
But the victory over Paris Saint-Germain in last month’s European final could be his last appearance as he continues to be linked with a move to England.

Liverpool and Manchester United are among the favourites for his signature with a cut-price deal on the cards with his contract expiring next summer.
Rafinha is also close friends with fellow Spaniard Rodrigo.
And the forward’s club-record £26m transfer to Elland Road this summer may help Marcelo Bielsa land another new signing.
Leeds have brought in nine players in total so far in the transfer window, including Freiburg defender Robin Koch, Arsenal’s Sam Greenwood and Jack Harrison on loan from Manchester City.

David Moyes pulled plug on Man Utd’s transfer for Thiago as he didn’t know enough about him… then signed Fellaini

MANCHESTER UNITED were close to signing Bayern Munich star Thiago in 2013 but David Moyes vetoed it, according to reports.
Instead the Scot signed Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini on deadline day.

    2

David Moyes vetoed Man Utd’s signing of Thiago in 2013

    2

The Scot instead signed Marouane Fellaini from Everton
Thiago ended up signing for Bayern where he has since won seven Bundesliga titles and a Champions League.
Whereas Fellaini only managed an FA Cup, a League Cup and a Europa League title with United.
Sir Alex Ferguson had set up a £17million deal to sign Thiago, 29, from Barcelona before his retirement, according to ESPN.
But once he had left Old Trafford the decision fell to his replacement – and now West Ham manager – Moyes.

Thiago was said to be keen on a Nou Camp exit in order to play first-team football.
But Moyes reportedly shut the move down because he did not know enough about the Spanish international.
The Scot had been told by United chiefs they were planning a mega move that summer – with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo being mentioned.
And as a result he held off on giving the Thiago deal the green light.

United reportedly attempted to sign Thiago’s Barca team-mate Cesc Fabregas instead but that move also fell through.
So having missed out on several targets, Moyes was forced to raid his old club and sign Fellaini on the last day of the summer transfer window.
Thiago could be making a belated move to the Premier League this summer with United interested again.
But the Spaniard is said to be leaning more towards Liverpool.

Lionel Messi will stay at Barcelona for now but CAN join Man City in amazing free transfer next summer

LIONEL MESSI says he has been left with no choice but to stay at Barcelona… but he will be clear to join Manchester City for nothing next summer.
Messi had wanted to quit the Nou Camp to make the move to the Etihad this month, but says he is unwilling to take the club to court to get his way.

    2

But the 33-year-old superstar’s contract runs out next summer when he will be available on a free transfer and with his relationship with Barca completely broken City know they can pick him up on the cheap.
Messi, in an interview with Goal, said: “I wasn’t happy and I wanted to leave. I have not been allowed this in any way and I will stay at the club so as not to get into a legal dispute.
“The management of the club led by Bartomeu is a disaster.

“I thought and was sure that I was free to leave, the president always said that at the end of the season I could decide if I stayed or not.

“Now they cling to the fact that I did not say it before June 10, when it turns out that on June 10 we were competing for La Liga in the middle of this awful coronavirus and this disease altered all the season.
“And this is the reason why I am going to continue in the club. Now I am going to continue in the club because the president told me that the only way to leave was to pay the €700 million (£624m/$823m) clause, and that this is impossible.”
Messi added: “There was another way and it was to go to trial.
“I would never go to court against Barca because it is the club that I love, which gave me everything since I arrived.

    2

“It is the club of my life, I have made my life here. Barca gave me everything and I gave it everything. I know that it never crossed my mind to take Barca to court.”
Messi may have been forced to cave in to Bartomeu and Barcelona for now, but next summer he will hold all the aces as his contract comes to an end.
That means Barca now risk losing him for nothing – and that is sure to bring a host of clubs to the table weighing up an offer.
Juventus, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain have all expressed an interest – but it is City who appear to have the financial clout and most desire to get a deal done.
The only issue will be whether they are prepared to break the bank on wages worth up to £850,000-a-week on a player who would by that time be 34.

If Lionel Messi leaves Barcelona life will go on.. just like when Cristiano Ronaldo quit Real Madrid, says Modric

LUKA MODRIC says life will go on if Lionel Messi leaves Barcelona.
And Real Madrid’s Croatian star likened the potential departure to when Cristiano Ronaldo left Los Blancos for Juventus in 2018.

    3

Life will go on if Lionel Messi leaves Barcelona, according to Luka Modric

    3

The Croatian compared it to when Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid
Messi now looks set to stay at Barca after refusing to take them to court.
But Modric was keen to downplay the saga and told AFP: “It would be a huge loss, like when Cristiano left.
“But you can’t think about the past. It’s football and that’s it.

“If it happens it will be a huge loss for the prestige of the league.

“But we need to go forward. Other players will become stars.
“When Cristiano left, the same thing happened; the life of Real Madrid went on without him and it will be the same for Barcelona and LaLiga without Messi.”
Messi had served his notice to quit Barca last month, leaving his family devastated, with City waiting in the wings to snap up the footballing great.
But Barca insist they will not let their superstar leave for anything less than £623million – and made it clear the only way that would change was if the Messi took them to court.

Messi cannot bring himself to drag the Spanish giants through the courts despite believing he has a legal right to leave on a free transfer but heavily criticised president Josep Maria Bartomeu’s management.
He told Goal: “I wasn’t happy and I wanted to leave.
“I have not been allowed this in any way and I will STAY at the club so as not to get into a legal dispute.

    3

“And this is the reason why I am going to continue in the club.
“Now I am going to continue in the club because the president told me that the only way to leave was to pay the €700 million (£624m/$823m) clause, and that this is impossible.”
The clause officially expired on June 10 but Messi’s camp argue it should be extended because the ongoing pandemic delayed the season.
It has sparked a major transfer tug-of-war between the player, his father and Barcelona that looked set to have a bitter ending.
But Messi has backed down in negotiations and will continue to play at the Nou Camp under new boss Ronaldo Koeman.

Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard and Co face second round of Real Madrid pay cuts after having wages slashed by 20 per cent

REAL MADRID players are reportedly braced for more pay cuts after their wages were slashed in April.
The LaLiga champions have been hit badly in the pocket by the coronavirus crisis with fans unable to fill the Santiago Bernabeu.

The likes of Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale were in the firing line as rumours swirled about wage crunches earlier this year.
And Real announced cuts between 10 and 20 per cent in early April to fill their financial black hole.
However, reports in July claimed that more deductions could be on the way as Spanish chiefs predict fans will not be allowed back into stadiums until 2021 at the earliest.
And ESPN claims Real’s big-money stars are now going to have their wages slashed yet again.

In the meantime, Los Blancos will look to offload several players in order to help ease the financial burden.
Right-back Achraf Hakimi has already been sold to Inter Milan for £40million.
And playmaker James Rodriguez is understood to be on the verge of an Everton switch.
Meanwhile, left-back Sergio Reguilon has been linked with an exciting move to Manchester United.

But as Bayern went on to win the entire competition, Barcelona went into turmoil.
Quique Setien was sacked and replaced by Ronald Koeman, with Barca also forced to pay Liverpool £4.5million for Coutinho’s Champions League win.
Star man Lionel Messi has also made shock exit demands to leave the club stunned.

However, Coutinho is back in Catalonia and training with his new boss after Bayern opted against making his loan switch permanent.

Coutinho, 28, managed just 18 months at the Nou Camp after a £142million switch from Liverpool before his Bundesliga loan.
But with the likes of Luis Suarez and Arturo Vidal also set to leave in a huge squad shake-up, Coutinho could now get a second chance under Koeman.
The Brazil international could yet be joined at Barcelona by ex-Liverpool teammate Georginio Wijnaldum.
He has entered the final year of his Anfield contract.

And Koeman wants Wijnaldum to replace Ivan Rakitic, who has returned to Sevilla on a four-year deal.
Should Liverpool lose their Dutch international. they are expected to move for Bayern’s Thiago Alacantara.
He has told the Germans he wants out and is believed to have held productive talks with Jurgen Klopp despite late interest from Manchester United.
