      Storm Filomena has battered Spain in recent days leading to record snowfall in the Spanish capital.

      And to ensure he made it to the Wanda Metropolitano in time, the Belgian borrowed his neighbour’s old school 4X4 as it ‘goes well on the snow’.
      The 1990 model is available for £3,500 in the UK.
      A mere two per cent of Carrasco’s £180,000 weekly wage.
      Footage surfaced online of the midfielder cruising along the motorway with two laughing passengers – believed to be Thomas Lemar and Šime Vrsaljko.

      Marcos Llorente uploaded the footage to Instagram.
      And fellow Atletico team-mate Vrsaljko also shared a snap of the tired looking car when the group arrived.
      Most members of Atleti’s squad travelled in modern and luxurious 4X4s – some laid on by the club for those players without their own – to help cope with the treacherous roads.
      The freak snow storm hit Madrid leaving four dead and thousands of cars stranded over the weekend.

      Blizzards blanketed swathes of Spain with driving snow bringing traffic to a grinding halt and grounding dozens of flights as up to 50cm of snow fell.
      Atletico finally managed to train around 11:30am on Monday ahead of their home game against Sevilla in LaLiga on Tuesday.
      But they had to prepare at their stadium rather than the training ground because of the adverse weather, which put paid to their match against Athletic Bilbao at the weekend.
      Atletico boss Diego Simeone said: “There was a great job from all the employees who work on the playing field so that the field is available today so that we can work.
      “We came in vans. Obviously, the main highways and roads are fine, but in Madrid urbanisations are difficult to get out of.
      “You have to find a way to do it. The point was to be able to get together here and train well, which today we could do very well.”

      Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos – who is also out of contract at the end of the season – has allegedly been told that Les Parisiens want to sign both him and Messi.
      However French football expert Julien Laurens believes that while PSG will look to nab him, his salary could be a problem due to having Neymar and Kylian Mbappe on their books.

      Speaking on Sky Sports News’ Transfer Talk podcast, he said: “With Financial Fair Play, the pandemic and how much PSG have been affected like all other big clubs, I don’t know how, just at the payroll level, you could have Neymar, let’s say on €30million-a-year (£27m), Messi on €60m-a-year (£54m) and Mbappe potentially with a new contract on the same amount as Neymar.
      “Only those three would be around €150m (£135m), just their salaries, every year.
      “Financially, it’s not possible. But they seem to say that they are going to try. But I don’t think it’s realistic.”
      Barcelona presidential candidate Agusti Benedito revealed last week that Messi will ‘most likely’ depart the Blaugrana this year.

      While many remain trapped on main roads and motorways or have had to abandon their cars after being unable to continue their journeys.
