Cristiano Ronaldo and Florentino Perez repair relationship as Juventus star ‘still feels connection to Real Madrid’

CRISTIANO RONALDO has reportedly repaired his relationship with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
And the Juventus star, 35, ‘still feels a connection’ to his old club – two-and-a-half years after his shock exit.

Marca claims Bernabeu chief Perez paid a visit to Juventus’ training ground this week after tensions eased between the pair.
Ronaldo’s Real exit in 2018 saw his relationship with Perez break down entirely.
But the Portuguese superstar extended an olive branch in March last year when he made an appearance in the stands for the Clasico against Barcelona.
Ronaldo and Perez have apparently been talking regularly since.

And it marks a dramatic U-turn after they looked to have burnt their bridges.
Speaking after completing his £88m Juventus switch in 2018, Ronaldo said: “I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start.
“In the first four or five years there I had the feeling of being ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’.
“The president looked at me through eyes that didn’t want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean.

“That’s what made me think about leaving. Sometimes I’d look at the news, where they were saying I was asking to leave.
“There was a bit of that but the truth is I always had the impression the president would not hold me back.”
Indeed, Perez is now said to regret selling Ronaldo and acknowledges that no matter how much money has since been spent, nobody can replace him.
Likewise, Ronaldo also still feels a special bond with the Bernabeu, and both club and player are yet to get their hands on another Champions League trophy since his departure.
The report concludes there was no indication of transfer talk between Ronaldo and Perez, but a reunion in the near future can not be ruled out.
Ronaldo’s nine years at Real became the stuff of legend after he scored 450 goals in just 438 games.
Ronaldo won four Champions Leagues and two LaLiga titles for Los Blancos, while also picking up four Ballon d’Ors for his personal trophy cabinet.”

Levante manager Paco Lopez shows off horror ‘hole in head’ after injuring himself on bench against Cadiz

LEVANTE manager Paco Lopez was left with a ‘hole’ in his head after injuring HIMSELF.
The Spanish boss showed off the nasty head injury after his side’s 2-2 draw with Cadiz.

Paco Lopez pointed to the ‘hole’ in his head in his post-match interview

The Levante boss said he banged his head on the dugout during the game

The ‘hole’ in his head wasn’t visible at the start of the La Liga clash.
And in his post-match interview he revealed how the mystery injury came around.
Lopez, 53, said he bashed his head on the dugout and joked it looked bad because he had no hair.
It comes after a Spanish player Unai Bilbao had his knee ripped apart by a huge nail in a Mexican match.

Lopez’s injury was just one incident in an eventful 2-2 draw between the mid-table Spanish sides.
Alberto Perea gave Cadiz the lead in the fourth minute before the visitors came firing back
Roger Marti’s quick fire double gave Levante a 2-1 lead just 11 minutes into an action-packed start.

But Cala secured a point for Cadiz midway through the first half in a thriller.

The hosts sit eighth in La Liga while Lopez’s Levante are 11th.
Lopez seemed more unhappy about his team’s result than the head injury.
He said: “I am not happy, it is a point but I wanted to win, although it is complicated.
“This is a difficult field and against a team for which it is not easy to create chances.

“It’s not easy to analyse why a team has a hard time winning away from home.
“From eighth down, we are all having difficulty in finding positive results.
“If we had, we would be among the first six.” More

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino took over on January 2 and is keen to stamp his mark on the side.
Barcelona are said to be scared stiff Messi will leave this summer.
And PSG are said to be ‘lurking like vultures’ with the Argentine able to sign pre-contract agreements with non-Spanish clubs this month.
Messi’s Barca contract expires on June 30 this year.

And any mention of his potential exit causes ‘earthquakes’ among Nou Camp chiefs, according to Sport.
Elsewhere Arsenal’s star right-back Bellerin is on PSG’s radar again, according to Calciomercato.
The Gunners rejected a loan bid from the Paris outfit in September.
And Bellerin, 25, was keen on a move to Les Parisiens after nine years in North London.

Another man who could be on his way to France is Bellerin’s fellow North London resident Dele Alli.
On Tuesday SunSport exclusively revealed the Tottenham midfielder is confident of sealing a loan move to PSG this month.
Dele was left out of Spurs’ squad for Sunday’s 3-1 win at Sheffield United.
The 24-year-old has 37 England caps and believes the club will now accept his desire for a loan spell — having fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho.
He has made just one league start this season with his last top-flight showing coming in a three-minute cameo against Liverpool on December 16.
Alli was an instrumental figure under Pochettino and helped spearhead the club’s run to the Champions League final in 2019.

Fernando Torres shows off hulking new physique as ex-Chelsea and Liverpool ace undergoes incredible body transformation

FERNANDO TORRES has put his El Nino nickname to shame by bulking up considerably since the end of his playing career.
Now Atletico Madrid B boss, the 36-year-old is looking far more hench than he ever did on the pitch.

Fernando Torres showed off a new buff physique in a recent casino advert

Fans were wowed by the former striker bursting out of his shirt

A lean striker for Atletico, Liverpool and Chelsea in his prime, the 6ft 1in Spaniard was never known for his strength.
In the latter stages of his career, Torres became less of a clinical finisher and began to rely on his attacking nous and physicality.
After a stint in Japan with Sagan Tosu ended in 2019, he hung up his boots.
Torres began a coaching role with Atletico’s B team in August of last year before becoming their manager this week.

Returning to the LaLiga leaders could mean the former forward has fixed his once-wrecked relationship with first-team coach Diego Simeone.
And, in a recent Instagram post announcing a link-up with a Southeast Asian casino website, he showed off his new hulking physique.

An Instagram follower posted: “The gym is getting out of hand, bro.”
Another remarked: “Your polo almost doesn’t fit 🤣💪.”
And one commenter asked: “Is it just me or is Torres looking a little buff, he’s been packing on the old muscle!”

PSG plan Lionel Messi transfer in case Kylian Mbappe quits this summer after failing to tie him down to new contract

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are plotting a move for Lionel Messi in case Kylian Mbappe leaves in the summer, according to reports.
Talks about a new deal with the French champions’ star striker are said to be stalling with his contract set to expire in 2022.

Reports in Spain suggest they will use him to replace Kylian Mbappe

And PSG are keen to sign Messi to keep their superstar numbers up, according to Sport.
Its front page on Wednesday read: “PSG want Barcelona star [Messi] in case the French striker [Mbappe] leaves this summer.”
It goes on to add: “The Parisian team plans to press for the signing of Leo after the hesitance of Mbappe to renew.
“The French side say they can only keep two big stars in their squad in line with financial fair play.”

There has been little recent progress in talks between Mbappe and PSG with reports in December suggesting the Champions League runners-up might not be able to afford his wage demands.
On Tuesday it emerged Barca are scared stiff of Messi leaving this summer.

On Monday, PSG stirred the pot again confirming Messi is on their ‘transfer shortlist’.
Sporting director Leonardo admitted they will try to sign the Argentine superstar after he told cash-strapped Barca he wanted to quit last summer.
Leonardo told France Football: “Great players like Messi will always be on PSG’s shortlist, but now isn’t the time to talk or dream about this.
“We are sitting at the table following this matter closely.
“Four months in football is an eternity, especially in this day and age, but our chair is reserved at the table.”
PSG will face competition from City who have made no secret of their desire to reunite Messi with former boss Pep Guardiola at the Etihad after failing to do so in the summer.
Messi was sent off for the first time ever in his club career on Sunday after lashing out at Athletic Bilbao’s Asier Villalibre in the dying seconds of Barca’s Super Cup defeat.
The Argentine maestro was hit with two-game ban which Barca intend to appeal, even though he faced the threat of sitting in the sidelines for 12 matches.

Martin Odegaard sparks transfer scramble as frustrated Madrid star ‘sensationally asks to leave’ amid lack of game-time

MARTIN ODEGAARD has ‘sensationally’ asked to leave Real Madrid, according to reports.
The Norwegian starlet became the club’s youngest-ever player when replacing Cristiano Ronaldo off the bench aged just 16 years and 157 days old.

But since then he has failed to kick-on at the Bernabeu and been sent out on a number of loan spells.
However, he finally began to show what all the fuss was about with a series of impressive displays at Real Sociedad last season.
Manchester United allegedly failed in several bids to land Odegaard as interest in the attacking midfielder soared.
Madrid held off interest from the Old Trafford outfit to bring Odegaard back to the Bernabeu this summer.

But the 22-year-old has struggled for minutes under Zinedine Zidane and Marca now claims he asked to be allowed to leave.
And they state the ‘writing was on the wall’ for the playmaker after he was left out of the squad for the Copa del Rey tie tomorrow with minnows Alcoyano.
Odegaard has grown hugely frustrated at being restricted to just a paltry total of 367 minutes on the pitch this campaign.
And it appears the latest snub has proven to be the final straw, leading to him asking to leave.

Whether or not United attempt to bring him to England again remains to be seen.
SunSport revealed United club scout Marcel Bout was spotted watching Odegaard in Sociedad’s 3-0 win over Valencia last February.
And Madrid were even thought to have offered the playmaker to United in a potential deal for Paul Pogba before the summer.

Real Madrid trolled by Eintracht Frankfurt over Jovic as they tweet ‘you just had to play him’ after instant goal

REAL MADRID were trolled by Eintracht Frankfurt after Luka Jovic enjoyed a stunning second debut for the club.
The striker matched his entire LaLiga goal tally with two strikes in just 31 minutes of his return during Adi Hutter’s side’s 3-1 win over Schalke.

The 23-year-old ended his Madrid nightmare after returning to his former club on loan until the end of the season.
And Jovic equalled his entire haul for Los Blancos with a double as a late substitute on Sunday.
The Serbian’s heroics sparked a hilarious response from Frankfurt’s Spanish account who wrote: “You just had to play him…
    “What a great homecoming, Luka!”

Jovic was shown the exit door at Madrid after falling out of favour with Zinedine Zidane – featuring in just five games for the Spaniards this season.
And Frankfurt’s sporting director Fredi Bobic has admitted that his former star man returning to Germany is exactly what he needed.
He told Sky Sports: “You can tell that the air here is good for him.
“The goals were top class, the whole process. That is a great art.
