Barcelona and Tottenham 2021-22 kits ‘leaked’ but fans slam Barca’s ‘woeful’ new design

BARCELONA and Tottenham have reportedly had their 2021-22 kits leaked online and fans are not impressed.
Images of the strips are said to show what the clubs will wear next season with some supporters labelling them ‘woeful’ and ‘outrageous’.

This is said to be Barcelona’s home shirt for next season

And Tottenham will reportedly wear this bland white design

Barca’s is a clever half red half blue look in which the colours fade together through a stripe design in the centre.
And a St George’s cross is blended into the right breast of the shirt in line with the club’s famous old crest.
Rakuten remain as the sponsor with the Nike swoosh stitched into its usual place.
And the picture – posted by FootyHeadlines – shows a traditional round neck collar.

However, while Barca’s home shirt appears quite imaginative, Nike’s designers must have got tired doing the Catalans’ kit because almost no effort whatsoever appears to have gone into Tottenham’s.
The image shows a plain white shirt with no discernible trim work anywhere.
A slightly adventurous V-neck collar features but with the standard cockerel on a ball badge on the left side of the chest and the simple Nike swoosh opposite, even the bright red AIA sponsor logo fails to brighten it up.
And fans online were equally underwhelmed.

Barcelona ‘reach verbal agreement with David Alaba’ in Chelsea transfer blow but £1bn debt means they must sell first

BARCELONA have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with David Alaba.
Mundo Deportivo claims the Bayern Munich contract rebel has decided to join Lionel Messi and Co on a free transfer this summer despite interest from top clubs including Chelsea.

However, a deal is far from complete as Barcelona must first offload some players while they struggle with debt worth £1billion.
Alaba, 28, will end his 13-year stay at Bayern when his current deal expires at the end of the season.
The Austria international is reported to be a major target for Chelsea.
And there is additional Premier League interest with Manchester City linked too.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are also eager to sign Alaba, regarded by many as one of the best in world football.
But it’s now claimed the left-back, who is equally capable of playing at centre-back or in midfield, is heading to the Nou Camp.
Alaba has apparently struck a verbal agreement with Barca following Joan Laporta’s return as club president.
But there are still various unresolved items, including Alaba’s reported £400,000-a-week contract demands.

CHELTENHAM SPECIAL OFFER – GET THE FIRST RACE FAVOURITE AT HUGE 50/1 PRICE

Indeed, cash-strapped Barcelona’s debt is said to total over £1bn.
And they will first have to get rid of a number of high-earners in order for Alaba to put pen to paper.
Philippe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann are two big names tipped to leave, with others including Ousmane Dembele at risk as well.
But reports last month also claimed fierce rivals Real Madrid had struck a verbal agreement with Alaba, who is represented by super-agent Pini Zahavi.
And with finances tight due to the coronavirus crunch, it remains to be seen who comes out on top in the battle for the global superstar.

Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas and wife Sara Carbonero deny claims they have split after 12 years together

IKER CASILLAS and his wife Sara Carbonero have denied reports of a split.
On Wednesday, Spanish magazine Lecturas claimed the couple had been living apart for months.

Spanish magazine Lecturas broke the news on Wednesday

It said former Real Madrid goalkeeper Casillas, 39, had taken the decision to move to another house on La Finca, the same gated estate just outside of the Spanish capital where his family home is.
The report followed weeks of speculation about the state of the couple’s five-year marriage following Iker’s retirement from football after his heart attack and Sara’s cancer battle.
But the split claim was immediately rubbished by glossy magazine Hola!, which quoted sources close to the star couple.
In a rebuff of the Lecturas story, it said in an article posted just after 1pm local time: “Earlier it was reported Sara Carbonero and Iker Casillas had separated.

“This information, due to the popularity of the couple, quickly got the interest of the media but has been rebutted by sources close to the couple.
“The reality is that the couple, who in recent times have had to deal with health problems, remain united.”
Referring to a new health scare which led to Sara being admitted to hospital last month in what was initially thought to be a cancer relapse, it added: “When she was admitted to hospital a few weeks ago, Iker was constantly by her side.
“He would go to hospital to be with her because he was worried by what they have had to live through and continues to be so.

“Now, four weeks on, normality has returned to their lives.
“Sara and Iker are making family plans with their son Martin and Lucas, with whom they try to spend as much time as possible so they can leave the bad moments behind them.”
Sara, who turned 37 last month, and Iker have yet to make any official comment on the split reports.
The radio presenter announced in May 2019 she had been operated on for ovarian cancer.
Doctors discovered the malignant tumour shortly after the heart attack which brought her husband’s playing career to a premature end.
She underwent surgery at Madrid’s prestigious Ruber International Clinic to remove the tumour before undergoing several months of chemotherapy.
Early last month it emerged she was back in hospital, with Spanish papers reporting she had suffered a cancer relapse although that was later denied.

She is thought to have gone into hospital for an operation but has made no comment on what it was for.
Former Spanish international Casillas, dubbed Saint Iker for his ability to produce spectacular saves, officially announced his retirement from professional football last August following his May 2019 heart attack.
He married Sara, once voted the sexiest reporter in the world, in March 2016 three months before the birth of their second child Lucas.
They famously kissed on air during a post-match interview after Spain won the 2010 World Cup.
They married in secret on March 20 2016 but details of the union only emerged ten days later.
Sara declined to comment on the split reports on Wednesday morning as she took sons Martin, seven, and Lucas, four to school.
She told a Spanish TV reporter who asked her how she felt and whether she wanted to say anything: “I’m not going to say anything thank you.”

It clearly didn’t work, as PSG left Spain with a 4-1 advantage, with superstar Kylian Mbappe scoring three of those vital away goals.
Barca have it all to do and matters may be worse now after PSG fans returned the favour with a fireworks display in the earlier hours of the morning.
It was the latest in attempts from supporters to put off the LaLiga giants, as a section of sick fans held up a Shakira ‘prostitute’ banner.
The ultras were slammed as misogynistic following the jibe at Barca defender Gerard Pique’s wife.

Suffering from a knee injury, the centre-back is ruled out of the Champions League last-16 second leg.
Last Sunday night, a parade of ultras lit flares and held up a number of banners in the French capital.
One read ‘Shakira a La Jonquera’ in reference to a town on the French-Spanish border that is notorious for prostitution.
Many viewing the images found them sexist and unnecessarily insulting of the ‘Beautiful Liar’ singer.

PSG ultras also paraded banners that read ‘Barcelona are not welcome’ and ‘Europe on its knees, all of Paris standing’.

How Real Madrid could line up with Mahrez and Haaland but no Varane or Ramos after transfer overhaul

REAL MADRID could boast yet another fearsome attack if they land Erling Haaland and Riyad Mahrez this summer.
But it may well be all change at the back with stalwarts Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane nearing the exit door.

Real Madrid could have a new-look starting line-up following the summer transfer window

Reports suggest Los Blancos are willing to put their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe on hold to go after Haaland.
The club are unable to afford both superstars this year and it is thought they are preparing a £150million bid for the Borussia Dortmund striker, who has 31 goals in 29 appearances this term.
Karim Benzema has served Real brilliantly for 12 years but the 33-year-old may be shifted aside to allow the Norwegian, 20, to lead the line.
And Haaland may be joined in attack by Riyad Mahrez, with Zinedine Zidane reportedly unconvinced by Vinicius Junior, Marco Asensio or Rodrygo.

The Manchester City winger, 30, is on course to win his third Premier League title this season but finds himself on the Bernabeu wishlist.
Landing the pair and lining them up with Eden Hazard on the left would strike fear into any defence.
Speaking of defence, Real Madrid fans may have to get used to a new-look back line next season.
Captain Ramos, 34, is out of contract this summer with negotiations over an extension stalling.

And they are also at risk of losing his partner Varane, 27, as Manchester United look to capitalise on his temptation to play in the Premier League.
David Alaba looks set to come in on a free transfer from Bayern Munich with his £400,000-a-week wages.
Kalidou Koulibaly may also be targeted by Zidane while Pau Torres and Joules Kounde may be cheaper alternatives.
In goal, Thibaut Courtois is set to keep his spot with Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy as full-backs.
Finally, there could be more change in the midfield with the trio of Toni Kroos, Casemiro and Luka Modric finally broken up.
Modric is out of contract and expected to be released as Fede Valverde takes on his role while French teenage holding midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is a long-term Madrid target so could succeed Casemiro.

Barcelona ‘launch formal Sergio Aguero transfer offer’ as president Laporta looks to link up Messi and Man City legend

BARCELONA have reportedly offered Sergio Aguero a contract to link up with Lionel Messi next season.
The Argentine pair are good friends off the pitch and the club hope to reunite them in attack.

Newly elected Barcelona president Joan Laporta is said by Argentina’s TyCSports to have approached Aguero over the switch.
With his Manchester City contract expiring in less than six months, he is free to pre-agree a move to any club outside England and SunSport first revealed the Catalans’ interest in January.
Laporta reportedly hopes that delivering a new ally to Messi in the Camp Nou dressing room will help convince the talisman to stay.
The 33-year-old’s own deal is up at the end of the season.

Aguero, 32, has been a regular alongside Messi for the Argentina national team since his debut in 2006, a year after his compatriot’s.
City are yet to secure his future amid a difficult season that has seen him score just two goals.

Since returning from a long coronavirus lay-off, the club record goalscorer has sat through five matches from the bench and played just 71 minutes of football.
Earlier this week, Pep Guardiola insisted the situation will be dealt with at the end of the campaign.
The City coach said: “We are going to talk to him as a human being, as a person and, of course, as a player.
“We will have to see what happens at the end of the season. We cannot forget how long he was out.

“Now he has started getting better. I know he needs minutes to get to his best condition but we are now maybe not in the moment we can give minutes for minutes.
“I think the club has spoken with his agent and they know the the situation.”
But the ball is reportedly in Aguero’s court after Barcelona’s offer landed.
Earlier reports on the striker’s future indicated that he would be happy to take a pay cut to move back to LaLiga, the division he left to join City in 2011.

Man Utd transfer target Raphael Varane ‘wants Premier League move this summer’ with Real Madrid contract up next season

RAPHAEL VARANE is reportedly considering his Real Madrid future amid rumours of a move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are keen to strengthen their defence this summer by landing a big name to partner Harry Maguire.

Kalidou Koulibaly and Jules Kounde are just two of several names linked to the club but Varane is thought to be the number one target.
And reports out of Spain suggest the Frenchman is keen on a summer transfer.
Madrid-based daily AS detail Varane increasingly preferring a move to try his hand in a new league.
At 27, the centre-back has played almost a decade of his career in LaLiga and is coming to a crossroads in his career.

His contract expires in 2022 and Madrid will do everything in their power to prevent him leaving on a free transfer.
Therefore, if he confirms to Los Blancos that he does not want to sign a new deal, they will be open to offers at the end of the season.

Real reportedly want Varane to stay but he is said to be well aware that agreeing a new deal in Spain will severely reduce his chances of winning honours in multiple countries.

The World Cup winner boasts an enviable trophy cabinet including four Champions League crowns and three LaLiga titles.
Should he depart, Madrid are thought to be eyeing David Alaba, Pau Torres and Sevilla’s Kounde as a replacement.
Although the club are already making plans in case club captain Sergio Ramos departs when his deal expires in the summer.
United could rival Real for Torres and Kounde, having been linked with both.
However, the chances of multiple big-money acquisitions arriving into Manchester have been quelled by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Chelsea add Atletico Madrid star Jose Gimenez to four-man defensive transfer shortlist as Tuchel eyes leader at back

JOSE GIMENEZ is a transfer target for Chelsea, according to reports.
The Atletico Madrid defender, 26, joins three others on the shortlist as Thomas Tuchel eyes another leader at the back.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the Uruguayan centre-back since 2016.
The 60-cap international enjoyed his breakthrough season under Diego Simeone in 2014-15 after arriving from Danubio in his homeland in 2013.
Gimenez has been a mainstay in the Atleti side this season when available – but a series of injuries and a positive coronavirus test have limited him to 17 appearances.
The report adds Bayern Munich man Niklas Sule and Ibrahima Konate of RB Leipzig are both high on the Stamford Bridge wishlist.

The Bundesliga pair continue to be linked with a move to West London.
Sule, 25, could see his minutes dry up at the Allianz Arena next season with the arrival of Dayot Upamecano.
Meanwhile Konate, 21, is also wanted by the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
David Alaba was the fourth man on the shortlist but a deal was never going to be struck with the Austrian.

Gimenez has become a key figure this season for Atletico MadridCredit: Splash News

He will become a free agent in the summer but did not want to go to Chelsea – plus his £400,000-a-week wage demands were simply too high.
Tuchel already has Antonio Rudiger, Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma at his disposal to play in his back three – and used all five since his arrival, shipping just two goals in ten matches.
Plus Fikayo Tomori, Ethan Ampadu, Malang Sarr and highly-rated Marc Guehi remain out on loan for the campaign and could force their way into contention by impressing in pre-season.
Zouma could be one that is allowed to leave on a permanent deal while AC Milan have an option to sign Tomori for £24.2million.
Silva turns 37 in September but has proven to be an astute addition to the squad with his defensive ability and leadership qualities – a 12-month extension to his original one-year deal looks set to be triggered.
Azpilicueta, Rudiger and Christensen each have 15 months left on their current contracts meaning they can discuss free transfers from January.
